Ash had returned to Unova after a tranquil vacation in Alola, basking in the comforts of his home in Opelucid City. The warm sunbathed his backyard, creating a serene atmosphere. He was lounging comfortably in a deck chair, his pokemon scattered around the yard, enjoying the tranquil afternoon.

As he relished the simple joys of being home, a Delibird suddenly appeared, fluttering gracefully with a small package in its possession. Ash's heart leaped with curiosity; he knew Delibird often carried special deliveries. Delibird presented a beautifully wrapped gift box with intricate Paldean designs. Ash accepted the offering, and a rush of curiosity swept over him as he wondered about the contents of the box.

It was a gift from his friends, Cilan and Celeste, who had been on a journey to Paldea. Ash remembered his disappointment when they had decided to bypass Unova on their way to Hoenn, missing a chance to catch up. However, their surprise gift was a heartfelt gesture. He looked up to the sky, acknowledging his friends, Cilan and Celeste, and a warm smile spread across his face. The disappointment he had initially felt about their decision to bypass Unova was now replaced with pure excitement and appreciation for their thoughtful gesture.

Gently, Ash began to unwrap the gift, revealing the contents hidden beneath the layers of exquisite paper. As he laid eyes on the surprise, his face lit up with curiosity and wonder. Within the box lay a small, striking blue Poke Ball, adorned with intricate yellow lines - a Quick Ball. Its vibrant design seemed to shimmer in the gentle sunlight, and Ash couldn't resist the urge to hold it in his hand.

Quick Balls were renowned for their swiftness in capturing wild pokemon. Ash felt a surge of excitement; he had never received such a gift before. All his pokemon were caught, with the exception of the two pokemon eggs which he found and was given guardianship of. A sense of mystery and adventure overwhelmed him. What pokemon could possibly be enclosed within this unique Quick Ball?

"Thanks, guys," Ash muttered in gratitude. "I wonder what's inside this Quick Ball."

As Ash activated the Quick Ball, a burst of light erupted from its center, coalescing into the form of a pokemon that left Ash utterly bewildered. He blinked in surprise, feeling like he'd stumbled into a completely different world. The pokemon before him was unlike any he'd encountered in his journey nor his studies.

This stout, gray bipedal reptilian creature stood with an air of unique elegance. Their most striking feature was the relatively oversized head and facial features, giving them a distinctive, almost caricatured appearance. Their eyes held a fascinating contrast: yellow sclerae framing deep black pupils, creating an intense, intelligent gaze. At the left side of their lip, an enigmatic square-shaped ice crystal glinted, mysterious and captivating.

A bulbous, light gray snout extended from their face, equipped with two distinct nostrils and a wide mouth, capable of emitting a sense of warmth despite the creature's otherwise icy countenance. They bore a light blue underbelly, a subtle and beautiful counterpoint to the primarily gray body. At the base of their back, a short tail added balance to their otherwise stocky frame.

This unique pokemon possessed stout and stubby limbs, with three distinct digits on each of their hands, leading to an intriguing appendage—a long, thin, and vividly yellow quill on the back of each hand, suggesting a concealed strength beneath their calm exterior. However, the most extraordinary feature was the prominent dorsal fin, triangular and gracefully arching upwards, creating a mesmerizing silhouette. Positioned atop the broad fin was a large, circular pattern of pristine white. Together, these features gave this pokemon an air of enigmatic beauty.

Intrigued and puzzled, Ash's first instinct was to consult his trusty Pokedex for answers. He raised the device, pointed it at the unknown pokemon, and the robotic voice chimed in, providing vital information.

"Frigibax, the Ice Fin Pokémon," the voice declared. Ash's confusion began to clear as the description unfolded. "Frigibax absorbs heat through their dorsal fin and converts the heat into ice energy. The higher the temperature, the more energy Frigibax stores. This pokemon lives in forests and craggy areas. Using the power of their dorsal fin, they cool the inside of its nest like a refrigerator."

The revelations only deepened the mystery. Here was a pokemon that harnessed the very elements around them to create a unique and adaptable lifestyle. Ash marveled at the concept of a pokemon capable of adjusting their environment to such a degree. The idea of using their dorsal fin to regulate their home's temperature like a refrigerator painted a vivid picture of Frigibax's incredible abilities.

Ash's eyes widened when he continued to read Frigibax's page on the Pokedex. His final evolution Baxcalibur is a dual-type Dragon/Ice pseudo-legendary pokemon. "Arceus!" Ash cursed under his breath. "This brings my pseudo-legendary count to five." Ash sighed, despairing at how ridiculous his life had become. "At least, I have a dragon now immune to those pesky Ice-types. Lucky!" Ash cheered, holding up his Pokedex again. "Let's see your stats beautiful."

Pokemon: Frigibax.

Gender: Female.

Ability: Ice Body.

Type: Dragon/Ice.

Move set: Tackle, Leer, Icy Wind, Take Down, and Bite.

Egg moves: Aqua Tail and Freeze Dry.

NOTE: The Egg moves have yet to be unlocked.

"You are a girl? Then, what do you think of the name Chione?" Ash inquired, beaming when he was met with an agreeing roar. "Great! I am sorry but I won't be able to focus a lot on you at the moment. It does not mean I will neglect you, beautiful. But I have my hands full with training to challenge the Elite Four and Champion Alder. However, I swear the moment we are done, I will give it my all to train you to your best."

Ash's smile widened when his challenge was met with excitement. Cilan and Celeste have found a pokemon that complimented his Thunder perfectly. Just as he expected from his best friends. "Why don't you go and enjoy playing with the rest of the Thunder?"

Chione, the newly named Frigibax, rushed to mee the rest of Ash's dragon team. As the other dragons gathered around to greet her, there was an initial sense of caution due to Chione's Ice-typing, which could potentially pose a threat to some of her new companions. However, the warm and welcoming atmosphere that Ash's Thunder always exuded soon overcame any hesitations.

Nephele, as the senior dragon, took the lead in welcoming Chione. She approached with gentle elegance, her cotton-like feathers rustling softly in the breeze. Chione, with her youthful curiosity, seemed instantly drawn to Nephele's calming presence. She extended a stubby limb, and the two of them touched. Meanwhile, Ares, who had been the youngest dragon until Chione's arrival, found himself delighted by the prospect of being a protective older brother. With a friendly nudge, he introduced himself, and the two young dragons engaged in playful antics that soon had them bonding like long-lost siblings.

The rest of the Thunder, including Agni, Astrape, Nephertite, Drako, Ladon, Aeolus, and Bruce, gathered around to make Chione feel at home. They exchanged stories of their adventures, their battles, and their individual quirks. Chione's unique ability to cool her surroundings, akin to a living refrigerator, fascinated the others. Agni and Astrape, in particular, found her powers intriguing as it was a stark contrast to their own fiery and electrical abilities.

Ash watched this heartwarming scene with a delighted expression. His Thunder, already a closely-knit family of diverse yet harmonious personalities, had just grown a little larger. However, there was another issue at hand. It was no secret among those who knew Ash well that Ice-types held a unique advantage against Dragon-types. Their chilling attacks and super-effective moves were often a daunting challenge for the mighty dragons in his roster. For this very reason, Ash had harbored a certain prejudice against Ice-types. He admired their power but also feared it, recognizing the elemental advantage they possessed over his beloved dragons.

His newly acquired Frigibax, was a striking embodiment of that elemental power. She could cool her surroundings with her dorsal fin and wield ice energy in ways that made Ash uncomfortable. The thought of his dragons facing her in battle sent a shiver down his spine. Despite this inner turmoil, Ash couldn't help but be moved by the heartfelt interaction between Chione and the other members of his Thunder. Her innocence and curiosity were a stark contrast to the fierce and seasoned dragons around her. She was like a fresh breath of air in their group, and her presence had already injected new energy into the team.

Ash knew he couldn't change Chione's typing. She was an Ice-type, and that was an inherent part of her identity. It was something that she couldn't control or change any more than his Charizard could change his Fire and Flying typing. In fact, it was her unique typing that had attracted her to his dragon family in the first place, offering a fresh perspective and a different set of strengths to complement the others. In the end, Ash realized that it was not Chione's typing that defined her but her character, her determination, and her potential to grow stronger. He couldn't let his apprehensions about type advantages hinder his acceptance of her. Chione was now a part of his Thunder, and that was a cause for celebration.

As he watched her interact with the rest of the dragons, playfully dancing on the borderline of snow and sunshine, Ash's conflict melted away, just like a snowflake touching the warmth of his heart. Chione was a unique individual, much like his other companions. They were all different in their own way, but their collective strength lay in their unity, in the bonds they had formed over countless battles and shared moments. It was a powerful realization for Ash. His Thunder was more than just a collection of Dragon-types. They were his family, and like any family, they had their differences. But it was those differences that made them strong, just as Chione's Ice-type abilities would add a new layer of strength and depth to their team.

With a sense of acceptance and renewed determination, Ash made a silent promise to himself. He would support Chione's growth, her development as both an Ice and Dragon-type Pokemon and stand by her as he did with each of his dragons. Type advantages aside, they were united by their shared dream, their unwavering loyalty to him, and the unbreakable bond of a Thunder that would weather any storm that came their way.
