Jake POV
I couldn't believe that he really agreed to come with me to the carnival, I even ditched my friends from going to the arcade with them just so that I could visit the carnival with him, I did not tell anyone about it apart from Heeseung. We were looking around the mini stands to eat something since he said he was hungry.
"what should we get?" Niki asked unable to choose still staring at the menu
"how about corndogs and dumplings?" I asked him not sure if he will like it
"that's okay....also i want that tteokkochi it looks delicious" Niki says pointing at the tteokkochi placed on plates
"sure...... excuse me can we have 2 corndogs, a packet of dumplings and 3 tteokkochi?" I asked taking out my wallet
"that will be 17,000 won" the shopkeeper says handing me a plastic bag
"I'll pay for it" Niki says immediately taking out the money
"it's fine I'll pay don't worry" I argued pushing away the money he handed me, are Asians always rushing to pay first, you might need it for your future
"it's fine I'll pay and halmeoni keep the change" Niki says immediately handing over the money to the grandma at the stand
"thank you so much I hope you guys will have a strong relationship" the grandma says with a smile
"we are just friends" Niki clarified with a chuckle
We went to find ourselves a place to sit so that we could have the food we had bought
"damn this is really good" Niki says stuffing the tteokkochi inside his mouth
"don't eat in a hurry we still have enough time" i chuckled staring at his face
"wait let's take some photos with it" Niki says taking out his phone
"look here Jake and hold those corndogs" Niki says posing for the pictures almost dropping the dumplings
"be careful with those dumplings" I laughed out at how he was struggling with the dumplings
"let's buy cotton candy after this" Niki says to me, he seems to be really hungry
"sure sure also are you guys done with the assignment?" I asked him
"oh please it's going to take us forever to complete it" Niki says dramatically placing his hand on his forehead
"was it really difficult?" I asked
"something like that I guess" Niki says staring at the sky
"are you guys getting along?" I asked him worried if they got into fights
"he is too nice to me these days I'm starting to get suspicious if he will pull up a new trick" Niki answers changing his facial expressions everytime he says the words relating to Jay
"why is it suspicious?" I chuckled munching on my tteokkochi
"wouldn't you be suspecious too if someone who you argue with everytime you meet starts being nice to you all of a sudden?" Niki says blankly staring at me waiting for my response
"I guess you are right I don't blame you" i said to him
"but he doesn't seem that bad of a person" Niki says
After a few minutes we went to get ourselves cotton candy, we decided to check on what was being performed at the stage and so we stood among the group, Niki started singing along with the crowd with a smile on his face, while standing there with him I got a call from Heeseung
"Niki stay here I'll come now okay?" I said to him slowly walking out of the crowd
"sure but come soon" Niki says nodding along
"what is it hyung?" I asked him walking towards a quiet place
"we are at the carnival" Heeseung literally said it like a warning
"what do you mean we are at the carnival?" I asked him horrified, what if they see us together
"it was Sunghoon's idea" Heeseung says almost panicking
"where are you guys?" I immediately asked him
"infront of that stage watching the performance where are you two" Heeseung says
"shit..we are screwed" I said immediately walking away
"don't tell me" Heeseung says, i could hear Jay's voice from the order side
"I'll call you later" i said cutting the call, i had already lost Niki in the crowd how was i going to find him
Niki POV
I stood there waiting for Jake to come, some sponsers had came up to the stage and were picking up people to play the pepero game some people were even volunteering themselves
"okay last one for tonight....who should we choose?" the sponser said looking over at the crowd, I think i caught their eye
"YOU......cute guy with grey hoodie please come over to the stage" the sponser says and the crowd was staring at me
"and that guy with the LV glasses please come here" she says again, we made our way to the stage, I didn't bother to look at the other guy until I reached my way to the stage
"okay please introduce yourselves" she says passing a mic to both of us i finally looked up to see who it was, I wish I had never looked up
"my name is Jongsung Park, freshman from Celeste University" Jay introduced himself, staring at me as if he wanted to ask me how i reached here
"my name is Nishimura Riki and I am a freshman from Celeste University as well" I introduced myself making contact with the crowd, my eyes traced everywhere for Jake, i noticed him looking up at the stage
"do you guys know each other?" the mc asked us while me and Jay made eye contact for a straight 10 second
"yes" "sort of" both of us had different answers, i didn't expect him to say yes because of how our relationship revolves between love and hate
"how do you guys know each other?" the mc asked curiously waiting for our response
"seatmates" both of us answered at the same time, i could hear the crowd cheering for us and my cheeks flushed red with embarrassment
"seatmates okay that's adorable so you both don't mind playing a game right?" the mc says with a smirk, I knew I was prepared for the next outcome
"uh....what exactly are we playing?" Jay asked staring at me which i completely ignored and was staring at Jake standing at the crowd
"everyone's favorite pepero game" the mc says holding a pepero stick
"what?" both of us said staring at the mc in shock
"it's just a game to entertain everyone" the mc says pulling us closer to each other
"okay??" both of us said looking at each other
"what are you doing here?" I asked Jay confused
"what am I doing here? I have nothing to do what happened to your shift?" Jay says annoyed
"I got off for the weekend are you alone?" I whispered to him still not taking my off my eyes off him
"no I'm with my friends what about you dipshit?" Jay asked me, like he was not happy about me being here
"I uh........i wandered myself here?" I made it sound like a question , I couldn't tell him that i was with Jake especially because they argued about it
"okay are you two ready? " the mc asked us balancing the pepero between our lips
"START" the mc says and the crowd started cheering at us
Jay started to come in closer to me biting off the pepero, he leaned in even closer my attention was only
at how his lips moved smoothly and i was not even blinking for a split second, he suddenly leaned in closer and he softly slipped it off with a soft kiss if that's what it felt like, I felt myself touch my lips staring at him
"thank you for taking part in our game" the mc says, the crowd cheered for us
"and these are for you two" the mc says handing us two basket of gift hampers
While going down from the stage I tried to sneak away from Jay but he dragged me along with him annoyed, he kept mumbling some words
"what are you doing here alone all by yourself what if some gangsters found you alone and beat you up can you at least ve a but more careful" Jay fumbled dragging me by the hand away from the crowd
"who are you to me that you can drag me around with you" I said removing his hand from mine
"I don't know" Jay says staring at me walking up to me
"you should go don't want to keep your friends waiting....also thanks for being concern but i can be fine by myself" I said walking away from him
"just don't get yourself in trouble okay?" Jay says his voice filled with genuine consideration
"fine I won't" I said smiling at him with adoration
"good night I hope you will not disappear from my life" Jay whispers to me softly
"good night to you too" I said acting like I didn't hear the other words he said
"I promise I won't disappear"
I walked away from Jay's presence and was looking for Kahe when someone pulled me behind a tree
"what did he say are you okay?" Jake says staring at me
"I'm fine don't worry I told him that I am heading home" I assured him with a smile
"maybe we shouldn't stay here for too long he might see us" Jake says holding onto my hand
"I was liking this place only now" I said pouting at him
"we can come here again next year" Jake says like our friendship will last for a long time
"fine let's go" I said disappointed
"I promise we will go again" Jake says caressing my hair
