Francesca's P.O.V:
----/ 18 Days 'Till Amor Aeternus \----
~~~~> 3:30 pm <~~~~
I'm currently sitting on my bed. I still can't believe that Marco wants me to pretend to be his girlfriend. I'm pretty sure his parents aren't that bad. I need to get ready.
I went to my bathroom, got rid of my clothes took a long bath. I'm pretty sure that it's too early anyways. After my long comfortable hot water bath, I got towels: one around my body and one wrapped on my hair.
I went back to my bedroom and opened the shopping bags. Everything he brought me is so beautiful... But I think I narrowed it down. I got the dress and accessories and bag,mdid my make-up. I checked my phone and noticed that I had a message from Marco.
Marco - 6:25 pm: «Hey. U ready?»
Fran - 6:28: «I m now.»
Marco - 6:29: «Outside ur house.»
I put my phone in my purse and locked at myself one more time in the mirror.
I'm dressed to impress.
I walked outside of the house and saw Marco leaning against his car. I went in his direction. I tapped on his shoulder as he looked up at me, eyes wide open.
"Wow." He breathed.
I smiled. "Pretty enough to impress Me. And Mrs..." I stopped. "Wait. What's your last name?"
He laughed. "Travelli. And yes. I think they'll be impressed." I nodded. "Just to be safe enough, I'll try to do most of the talking. Let's go. We can hammer out the details of our back-story on the ride there. I don't like to think what would happen if we were late."
I nodded my head in agreement as we entered the car.
*AT MARCO'S MANSION*
Waw. This place is amazing!
We walked inside. "Hello Mother." He politely greeted his 'Mother'.
"Say good evening, Darling. We're not savages here." She replied. She looked at me. "And you must be..."
"Francesca." I continued for her as she nodded. "It's a pleasure to meet you." I added, smiling.
"That's right. Marco told me your name over the phone, but I wasn't sure if what I heard was correct. People are named such interesting things these days." Wait was that an insult or a complimemt. "George, come greet your son and his guest." She said as a man, which I believe is Marco's Dad.
"Are you two engaged?" He asked as he came towards us.
Are you kidding me?
No 'Hello, how are you doing?' first?
"Do you see a diamond on her hand, George? Of course they're not."
"It's a pleasure -"
I was saying but was cut off by Marco's Mother. "You already used that one."
I rose my eyebrows. "... I'm very happy to make your acquaintance, Mr. Travelli." I corrected.
He shrugged. "Thank you. Let's eat." He said and left to the dining room.
"I didn't know you could be so charming, George." Mrs. Travelli said as she walked behind him.
Marco sighted. "Now the real fun begins." He said following his parents as I walked with him.
This is going to be harder than I thought...
We all sat on the dining room chairs and started eating. "So, how did you two meet?" Mrs. Travelli asked.
"Well -"
Marco started but was interrupted my his Mom. "No, I've already heard you tell it, Marco. I want to hear about it from Francesca. I find it's always best to hear stories from multiple perspectives."
I looked at Marco and he nodded. "I agree completely. You never know what someone might leave out. Well, it's a rather boring story, unfortunately. Marco's company is going to run an ad campaign for one of our new fashion lines. Marco was leading a meeting between our two companies that I was part of. I'm sure you know how charming your son is. Even in a meeting he's more interesting than most of the men I meet. He slipped me a business card with his personal name on it after the meeting." I explained.
"That easy, huh?" George asked, eyeing us suspiciously.
Marco sighted. "Father -"
"Did you bother to find out who she was before you gave her personal information?" Mrs. Travelli interrupted yet again.
This might be a bad habit of hers.
"Of course, Mother."
She smiled. "Good. You never know who might want to take advantage of you."
I frowned. "You can't live your life paranoid like that, though." I said.
"You wouldn't understand, dear."
"Why not?" I asked.
"You have nothing of much value to protect. Marco has wealth, his stellar reputation, and his family name to think of." She, may I say, rudely explained.
"... I see." I replied.
Okay Fran.
Breath in, then out.
Inhale, then exhale.
Hold it together girl.
"She's so delightfully naive, Marco. It's a breath of fresh air in this house."
"... Why don't we change the subject. How was your trip to Paris, Mother?" Marco said.
Are you serious?
That bat can go to France and I can't.
Amazing!
"Dull. Where do you prefer to vacation, Francesca?" She asked.
Well, at lest she called me by my name instead of 'her'.
"Oh, I hardly have time to vacation, with work and all..." I replied.
"And all what? Surely you get a couple weeks off, here and there."
I nodded. "I like to got to the mountains. Camping and fishing are my thing."
She frowned. "Were your parents hippies?"
"... No. Why?" I asked, completely confused.
"I find that girls with confused gender roles are usually the result of hippie parents." She, again, rudely replied.
"Mother, why do you have to ask those kinds of questions?" Marco asked, clearly annoyed.
"The real question, Marco is what you're still doing in this ridiculous position."
"What position?" He asked once again.
"Going to meetings with second rate fashion houses? You've had every advantage in life. There's no reason you shouldn't be CEO by now. Is that so much to ask for?" She replied.
"Why do you think my company's second rate?" I asked.
"Because I've never heard of it, dear. I make it my business to know everything and everyone important."
Okay.
That's it. I've had about enough of this.
Payback time.
I smirked. "There is one important thing you apparently don't know. Class. Which is strange because you're supposed to be so high class. What happened? Did you forget it in your other mansion?" I, this time, rudely replied as Marco silently chuckled.
Mrs. Travelli gasped. "Insolent girl!" She angrily exclaimed. "Marco, call this wretch a car and then come to the dining table when you're ready." She ordered.
"No, Mother." He replied. I looked at him in shock. "You haven't given her any respect, there's no reason she should return it."
"SHE DOESN'T DESERVE RESPECT FROM PEOPLE LIKE US!" She yelled.
"I'm sorry, Mother. But you have it all wrong. People like you don't deserve respect from anyone. Respect is earnec, not purchased." He said, then looked at me. I smiled at him. "Let's blow this popsicle stand." I laughed as we exited the dining room.
"If you stay with her you're throwing away your future." We heard Gorge's voice. We turned around and came face to face with him. "You won't see a penny from us." He sais, crossing his arms.
"Go ahead and start writing me out of the will, Father. I never liked this place anyways." Marco replied.
We got outside and stood next to the car. "Marco, I'm so sorry, I let my temper get the best of me." I apologized.
He just grinned. "Are you kidding me?! That. Was. Amazing!" He exclaimed. "You just helped me do what haven't been able to do in all my years. I feel like the genie at the end of Aladdin." I laughed. "Francessa, you're the most amazing person I've ever met." He said.
He's not so bad himself.
He started leaning in. No, I can't do it.
"Thank you. It means a lot coming from you." I awkwardly said. "Come on, let's go. I need go listen to something loud on the car radio."
"Sounds ideal." He replied.
*AT FRANCESCA'S HOUSE*
After I was in my pajamas, I went to my living foom.
"Surprise!" León's voice surprised me.
I groaned. "What do you want?"
León shrugged. "Just to chill."
"You didn't break the terms of the agreement during your little integration at the police station, but you got pretty close." Maxi explained.
I crossed my arms. "... And?"
"Congratulations on surviving another day!" Maxi explained.
"Gee, thanks." I sarcastically replied. "Now. If you don't mind, I need to sleep off all these conflicting emotions." I said.
"But we just got here!" León said. "You don't want to watch a movie or something?" I ignored them and walked to my bedroom and drifted to a deep sleep.
León's P.O.V:
"I think she may be on to something." Maxi said.
I laughed. "What? With that player? Puh-lease." I answered.
"He's got the glint in his eye." Maxi replied.
"I disrespectfully disagree. That's an unreliable way to judge love and you should and you should feel stupid for ever suggesting it." I said.
"Don't doubt the power of the glint." Maxi replied as we disappeared from Francesca's place.
