3rd Person 🤝🏾
She was his neighbor . He moved into the creepy weird apartments in the beginning of fall . The air outside cold and crisp , blowing around the fallen leaves and trash that adorned the untouched grounds outside of the building . The grass tall and dead , bushes half bare and also dead . Vines running up the walls of the apartment building it looked almost abandoned from the outside .
He was alone and he was young just like her . The both of them being only 18 & their birthdays 2 days apart . Their personalities were complete opposites . Hyunsoo didn't talk to anyone unless he had to while she could talk all day long . He walked quietly with his head down avoiding human contact all at once while she greeted anyone she encountered . They were like night and day .
When he first moved in she was coming back home from school & she saw him dragging the last of his boxes inside . She leaned on her doorframe and stared at him making him look up as he'd felt her gaze . She waved to him with a wide smile on his face and he just nodded at her before continuing what he was doing . She came back out of her apartment a few more times after that but he didn't .
Hyunsoo laid flat on his bare mattress and stared up at the ceiling . His phone laid next to him open to the calendar app showing the month of october . The 30th was the only day that was marked with the words "suicide" which was 2 months from today as it was august 29th . His stomach growled but he ignored it an continued to lay in his spot . That was until he heard a knock on his door making him sit up .
He didn't say anything but she spoke up "It's your neighbor from apartment 1413" Hyunsoo thought for a bit he hadn't really met a lot of people yet but he met quite a few none of which were sane or nice that was besides the girl from down the hall . He got up slowly and opened the door seeing her standing there with a plate in her hands and the same big smile on her face from earlier .
She pushed the plate out to him and he slowly lifted his hands to take it . "I'm y/n , i live in apartment 1413" she pointed down the hall and he just nodded again . "I made dinner for myself but i made a bit too much and figured i'd use the rest to try and make a friend , we should be around the same age im 18" she said and he opened his mouth to speak but due to the dryness in his apartment his throat was dry as well so nothing came out . He cleared his throat and tried again . "Me too" he said and he swears he saw a twinkle in her eye .
"Finally someone around here is my age . What's your name?" she asked and before he could speak she reached her hand up to remove something from his hair startling him a bit . "You had a string in your hair , i really like your hair by the way it's so curly , like mine" she said and he looked at her afro which had much more volume than his curly hair . "I'm Hyunsoo" he said and she nodded and held out her hand . "Well hyunsoo from today we are friends so you can always ask me if you need something i'm just down the hall" she said and he nodded before turning to go into his apartment and not saying a word . She laughed after the door was closed in her face and turned to go back to her apartment .
On the other hand hyunsoo was eating the food quickly almost choking but too hungry to care . The food was really good too so he definitely couldn't get enough .

Since then she'd started to cling to hyunsoo though as time went on he didn't mind . One day the both of them had just came from school and went back to their respective homes . Y/n decided that she needed to shower as she felt sticky and dirty from all the sweating she had been doing all day as it was volleyball season and she played varsity .
Hyunsoo dropped his bag , loosened his tie and looked at his phone seeing as it was october 30th . 'Todays the day' he thought but his thoughts were interrupted by a loud bang outside of his door . He thought for a second knowing that it couldn't be y/n because she'd told him that she was about to take a shower and it'd only been about 2 minutes since they got home . He looked at the monitor beside the door and saw a dark red trail of blood running through the hallway . It was like something or someone was bleeding and being dragged . His eyes widened as a woman popped up into his view .
This woman he recognized as another resident in the building but she looked different . Her eyes were all white and it looked like someone or something had literally taken a bite out of her chest . Her mouth all bloody as she groaned and moaned out inaudible words . Hyunsoo felt his breathing quicken and weirdly the only thing he could think of is y/n and if she's okay .
The lady rambled on about things he couldn't understand but he could make out her saying she was hungry . His body shook as he watched her look towards the other side of the hallway before making her way that way . He waited for a bit before looking out of his door and seeing that she was gone . He quickly ran over to y/ns apartment , slipping in the blood on the way and knocked hard calling out to her . When she opened the door she was wrapped in a towel and confused as she seen half of his body was bloody and so was the floor .
"We gotta get out of here" .
They made way downstairs and saw on the tv that there was a randomly attack of monsters and people turning into monsters happening outside . The government asked for everyone who was inside their homes to stay safely inside and not to contact anyone who was out .
They weren't the first ones to hear of or see that monster from earlier as a few people talked about it around them . From there they'd knew that every moment was life or death for them and everyone else .
Even as things changed they never did . They were still right by each others sides through everything . When hyunsoo became a monster everyone screamed and backed away from him readying their weapons and she screamed at them to put them down and leave him alone . He wasn't a monster to her . She quickly took off her shirt and gave it to him to clean the blood pouring from his nose and ushered him into a different room .
He protected her from monsters and she protected him from people . When the others noticed that hyunsoo could control his monster and that he wouldn't harm them they started to use him . Of course y/n was against this but hyunsoo told her it was alright and that he wanted to help . So everytime there was a monster to be dealt with , something to be fetched , someone to find .. hyunsoo always went out and of course she followed along with a few other people .
They'd saved some children from the floor above theirs so their little group became hyunsoo , y/n & 2 children all the time . They all slept in that room that hyunsoo was chained in . Which y/n also didn't like but hyunsoo told her that it was something he wanted to do himself . When he needed her she was there for him . She'd feed him , clean his wounds . Warm him with a hug when he needed one . They were stuck with each other .
One day one of the other residents had turned and his target was the children which y/n wouldn't allow . Hyunsoo was asleep as he'd been drained from his last mission . He fell asleep with the chains on him making him stir uncomfortably . When he woke he saw that y/n and the kids were gone and as he listened he heard screaming .
The kids . The residents .. y/n .
He got up to get a better look and from the door he could see y/n struggling against the man who kept trying to charge at the kids . No one else seemed to be helping as they all screamed and cowered in fear with no weapons in hand . He quickly turned around to grab the keys to his chains but he couldn't find them he searched frantically praying that the keys would just show up in front of him but they didn't .
He looked out of the door again seeing the man now a full on monster , these nasty tentacle like things were holding y/n up in the air and he screamed and struggled against the chains . The tears in his eyes seemed to clear up as he could clearly see y/n give him a smile before being stabbed in the chest .
Hyunsoo screamed before his body slumped to the ground . His head hung low , long curly hair covering his face . Finally someone had come with a weapon , only a gun which stunned the monster . Hyunsoo blacked out .
His arms tore from the chains and he stood up walking towards the scene in front of him . His eyes black and wings grew out of his body as his monster was fully in control now . He pushed away the person with the gun and pushed the children back as well . He charged at the monster striking him down with one blow . Hyunsoo then got on top of the monster and punched him continuously , screaming until the monsters head burst .
Now it was his turn for the residents to be scared of . Hyunsoo looked around and everyone who pointed their weapons at him in his monster form but couldn't bring themselves to do the same to that other monster .
He picked up your body as his own went back to his human form . Ignoring the looks and murmurs of the people behind him he carried her body to the spot that they'd buried previous residents . Hyunsoo hadn't cried this hard since the death of his family . He dug a hole deep enough for her to fit inside before crying over her body . He was supposed to protect her like she protected him and he failed . He felt like it was his fault .
He placed her body inside and covered it up with the dirt and cement pieces still crying extra hard . He sat by her grave for a bit before walking back to the room he was in before . The children followed him inside as he pulled the door closed and all the other residents looked guiltily in that direction .
For 2 weeks he didn't come out of that room unless he was going to sit by your grave or grab something to feed the children . He wasn't letting them use him as their weapon anymore . He never even glanced at them again . It was announced to the remaining residents that they'd found a way to escape without being caught by monsters so everyone was preparing for that .
When the day came he helped the children giving them everything they'd need to survive before leading them to the residents . "What are you doing?" eunhyuk asked and hyunsoo didn't answer but he closed the door trying to tune out the children's cries . "CHA HYUNSOO" eunhyuk screamed as hyunsoo ignored him and walked away .
He sat at her grave and like always tears poured from his eyes . It wasn't fair . She didn't deserve that at all and hyunsoo would forever stand on that . She were his first love . The first person to make him feel genuinely loved and protected . She saved his life but he couldn't save hers .
When he was sure everyone was far enough away he poured gasoline all over the other monsters in the building , all over the floor and all over himself . He looked back at the open grave he'd dug next to your own . The flick of the lighter in his hand seemed so loud as the flames ignited in front of him .
Hyunsoo closed his eyes as he dropped the lighter , the flames immediately spreading all over the walls , the ground and himself . His body hit and the pain unbearably high as it spread all over his burning body .

hyunsoo rested his head on her shoulder and his arms wrapped loosely around her body as she sat on his lap rubbing his back in a soothing manner , telling him how well he'd done when saving the children and himself . He felt her press a warm kiss on his forehead before one of her hands moved to scratch in his scalp and lul him to sleep . There in that second was when he knew he loved her and that he was gonna love her forever .

His body fell back into the grave with a loud thud , his monster screaming inside as it wasn't ready to go yet . He'd be with her soon .
