Another update as promised ❤️ I'm really trying to go back to the days when I used to update like every single day lol. It just be so hard with school 😩

Anyways, let's read 😈

Chicago IL📍
Tuesday, June 1st
4pm

"Im almost done Kaliyah. I got one more loc left."

Kaliyah found herself sitting in a chair in the middle of her loctician's hair salon. She had her legs crossed over, with a book in her hand. Reading usually helped past the time for Kaliyah while she got her hair retwisted. Getting her hair done definitely took all day to do, but it was always worth it in the end since her locs always came out looking good.

Kali placed her book down, tired of reading now as she instead was glancing at her reflection in the mirror. Her locs were now short length, with a few in the front making it look like she had bangs. She was just truly amazed by how her loctician could even make her hair look short without having to cut them off.

"This looks so good."

Kaliyah muttered.

"Aw yeah? You like it? It's a style I've been dying to try on you."

Keke, her loctician said.

Kaliyah just grinned, exited with the way she looked right now. She was about to say something until her phone started to vibrate on her lap. She glanced down at it, seeing an unsaved number pop up on the screen. Kaliyah just frowned slightly, not knowing who it was. Plus, the number did not have a Chicago area code, so she definitely had no idea who was trying to call her.

Clicking on the side button of her iPhone, Kaliyah just declined the call before looking back up at the mirror again.

"So I suggest you wrap your hair up at night so this style can last longer for you."

Keke continued on. She was finally done with the last loc.

"Oh girl you ain't gotta tell me that. I wrap my shit up every night!"

Kali giggled, just as Keke joined in.

"Oh I know you do. Some of my other clients don't do that shit at all, and they come back like a week later talking about they need a retwist."

Keke rolled her eyes playfully.

"Not a week later-"

Kaliyah chuckled, but was cut off by the feeling of her phone vibrating once again. She looked down at it, seeing that it was the same unsaved phone number calling her.

"Who the hell-"

She muttered, picking up her phone. Deciding to just pick up the call, she slid her fingers across the screen before placing the phone to her ears.

"Hello?-"

"Bitch dis Asian. You know how many times I've been trying to call you and you just kept declining me?"

Asian's voice could be heard. Kaliyah was slightly surprised, definitely not expecting to ever hear from Asian at all.

"Oh wow... Asian. I had no idea who this number belonged to. You know I don't ever pick up unsaved phone numbers girl."

"Well bitch I should've known. I mean, we used to be so closed back in the day, when I knew you like the back of my hand."

Asian chuckled. Kaliyah couldn't help but smile a little just as she stood up off the chair.

"How did you even get my number?"

She asked curiously. Her mind started to wonder now since it was so strange that Asian was calling her out the blue. Kaliyah had definitely changed her phone number a lot of times during the years, so there was no possible way that Asian could've gotten it... unless... maybe Dayvon?-

"Bella gave me your number. You know Bella right?"

Asian said.

"Bella? Yeah I know her. You know Bella?"

Kaliyah began opening up her purse, taking out a few $100 bills before handing it to Keke.

"Thanks boo!"

Keke whispered, giving Kaliyah a quick hug before walking off.

"Yeah I know Bella. Me and her go way back."

Asian responded. Kaliyah just picked up her purse before heading out of the salon.

"That's so crazy. I had no idea you knew her."

"Yuppp. I know a lot of things Kaliyah."

Asian said with a sarcastic tone. Kaliyah just frowned, not really sure why she was even talking like that.

"Anyway, I was calling you because... well.. I miss you Kaliyah. I mean, you and I used to be so close. I don't even know what happened to us."

Kaliyah made it through the parking lot before she finally approached her car.

"Yeah... we did used to be so close."

She muttered while hopping in.

"I guess we just drifted apart over the years."

Asian huffed lightly. Kaliyah just nodded her head as she started up her vehicle.

"But that can definitely change. I'm having a huge birthday party this weekend in ATL, and I want you to come."

Asian said with excitement. Kaliyah's eyebrows went up just as the engine to her car begin to roar.

"You're inviting me to your birthday party?"

She repeated.

"Yup! You and a few friends can come along. I just really want you to be their Kali. I don't have much friends out here, and it would be nice to have a few familiar faces at my party."

Asian insisted. Kaliyah just thought for a moment, feeling her heart drop at the sound of Asian not having much friends.

"Von is throwing the party for me, so I already know it's gonna be filled with most of his people."

Asian added in.

The sound of Von's name being brought up just caused a nervous feeling to form in the pit of Kaliyah's stomach. She always wasn't sure if Von and Asian were still together or not, but clearly if he's throwing her a birthday party than that meant that they both were still dating each other... right?

"Please don't say no Kaliyah. This is honestly my attempt at trying to rekindle our friendship."

Asian continued to insist.

"I know I was always so mean to you, Leilani and Shay growing up... but I promise I've changed. Let's just start over yeah? I want all of y'all to pop out at my party this weekend. We can have so much fun!"

Kaliyah couldn't help it but chuckle.

"Uhh, you were definitely mean to us, but I promise we never took it serious. If anything, we just knew that was your personality Asian."

Kaliyah pointed. The girls just both laughed a little.

"Oh trust me, I can still be a bitch when I need to be."

Asian snickered as they both continued to laugh.

"But umm... yeah I would love to come to your birthday party. It's this weekend you said?"

Kaliyah finally gave in.

"Yes! Save my number in your phone so I can send you all the details. Maybe y'all can stay the entire weekend just so we can hang out after the party."

Asian sounded extremely excited which certainly surprised Kaliyah. Asian definitely did seem genuine with her invitation. The only weird part about this whole thing was Von.

Did Asian know that Von had my number? Does she know that we be FaceTiming almost every single day, or how we be flirting with each other constantly?

All of these thoughts just kept floating in her head. If Von and Asian were still together, then clearly whatever friendship Kaliyah had with Von needed to come to an end asap. Kali just felt like it was supper inappropriate, especially since Asian is wanting to rekindle the friendship they once had.

"Alright boo! I'll talk to you soon. I'll text you all the details sometime today."

Asian's voice could be heard, interrupting Kaliyah's thoughts.

"Yes of course! I'll talk with Leilani and Shay and see if they wanna come."

"Perfect!"

The girls both exchanged their goodbyes before hanging up the phone. Kaliyah could just feel an anxious feeling in the pit of her stomach as she placed her phone down. She wasn't sure why she was feeling this way at all.

Maybe it's because she felt bad for communicating with Von the way she had been doing this whole time, all while he was still in a relationship with Asian. Kaliyah technically didn't know their relationship status, but it still all felt very weird.

Letting out a deep sigh, Kaliyah just backed out of her parking spot before driving off.

*Later that day*

"Leilani?!"

Kaliyah shouted, just as she stepped into her apartment. She made sure to lock the door behind her before strolling her way inside. She mindlessly walked into the kitchen, instantly pausing just as her eyes landed on an unfamiliar looking figure.

She could see somebody, a male with no shirt on just standing in front of her fridge with the door open. He was dark skin, extremely tall, with a low haircut on his head.

"Rob?!"

Kaliyah blurted out, startling him.

"Aw shit-"

Rob said, quickly turning around and seeing Kaliyah just standing there.

"Umm.. what the fuck are you doing in my apartment?"

Kaliyah pointed. She raised her eyebrows up, watching as he nervously scratched the back of his head.

"Damn... Leilani, she uhhh... invited me over-"

"Rob what's taking so long? Literally all I asked you to do was bring me a water bottle-"

Leilani came in, cutting him off before stopping in her tracks once she spotted Kaliyah.

"Oh... Kaliyah wow. You're back home so early?"

Leilani nervously chuckled. Kaliyah just gave them both a look, shaking her head slightly with disgust.

"Matter fact, Rob was just about to leave. Ain't that right Rob?"

Leilani said, grabbing onto his arm. She began pulling on him as they walked right past Kaliyah out of the kitchen.

"Aye, but what about my shirt? I left it in the room-"

"I can just give it to you later Rob. You gotta go."

Kaliyah could hear both Rob and Leilani whispering to each other down the hall. She playfully rolled her eyes at them before deciding to just head to her room. Her phone began to vibrate once again as she glanced down at it.

This time, Dayvon was trying to call her. Kaliyah could feel her heart dropping as she stared at the screen as her phone continued to ring. She definitely didn't feel like talking to him right now since she knew that him and Asian were still a thing.

She just quickly declined his call before plugging in her phone to charge.

"Okay Kaliyah... I know what you're probably thinking of me right now."

Leilani's voice could be heard as she entered into Kali's room.

"Girl, I thought you dumped Rob for good?"

Kaliyah curiously pointed. Leilani gave her a nervous smile.

"Yeahhhh... I did... but... well.. you know-"

"Ohhh let me guess; Rob probably texted or called you to tell you how much he misses you, and you fell for it huh."

Kali snickered. Leilani just paused for a bit before slowly nodding her head.

"Yup. That's exactly what happened."

"Oh goshhhh Leilani. What about the girl you said he cheated on you with and got pregnant? Doesn't he have a kid on the way?"

Kaliyah said while frowning.

"See that's the thing, the girl ended up lying about the whole pregnancy thing. So he doesn't have a baby on the way actually. Isn't that great?!"

Leilani smiled. Kaliyah couldn't help but shake her head in disbelief.

"Girl, he still cheated on you though, let's not forget about that Lani."

She pointed. Kaliyah could hear her phone vibrating again, as she turned to look at it.

Kaliyah sucked her teeth lightly, reading Von's message before deciding not to respond at all. Instead, she switched her phone on DND.

"Look I know Rob cheated on me... I mean, I'm not getting back with him. I just needed some dick you know?"

Leilani tried to explain herself, waving her hands. Kaliyah just chuckled.

"I mean I guess... but damn you could've texted me that he was in my apartment."

"I knowww. I'm sorry Kali. I promise it won't happen again."

Leilani insisted. Kaliyah just shrugged, not really upset with her too much.

"Well, before Rob distracted me, I came in the house ready to tell you some tea."

Kaliyah took a seat on her bed now, just as Leilani joined her.

"Tea?? What tea?"

She questioned. Kaliyah just sighed a bit.

"Guess who called my phone today out of nowhere."

She began.

"Bitch who?"

Leilani said with a curious tone.

"Asian."

"Asian?! No way..."

Leilani gasped. Kaliyah just chuckled slightly before nodding her head.

"Yup. She invited us all to her birthday party this weekend in Atlanta. And.. well I sort of told her that we could go."

"Girl you did what?!"

Leilani made a face.

"I told her that we were going. I mean, she called me and was telling me that she missed us and our friendship. She said this was her way of trying to rekindle all of that-"

"Rekindle? I don't know Kali... sum seems off about that."

Kaliyah just huffed to herself, leaning back against her pillows on the bed.

"I know... and now I feel all weird because I've been texting and flirting with Von these last few weeks like a dunmy, whole time he's the one planning her birthday party."

"Awww shit."

Leilani shook her head.

"Well, it's not like you and Von ever did anything serious... right? Yall ain't kiss? Fuck? He didn't eat your pussy or anything like that-"

"Eww no Leilani damnnn!"

Kaliyah gasped. Leilani just couldn't help it but laugh.

"I'm sorry! I'm just making sure that y'all ain't do the nasty yet."

She giggled. Kaliyah just playfully rolled her eyes.

"No we didn't have sex or anything like that. But we've definitely been flirting heavily with each other... and I think I lowkey am crushing on him which is terrible."

She groaned.

"I may be a lot of things... but I refuse to be a home wrecker-"

"Kaliyah you are not no home wrecker. Be for real right now."

Leilani sucked her teeth.

"But honestly Kali, you really didn't know if Von and Asian were seriously together or not. It's no secret that their relationship is always on and off-"

"I know... but Asian is my cousin. It just looks soooo bad I feel like."

Kaliyah mumbled.

"Ok look, it doesn't look that bad. You and Von haven't really done anything but flirt right? So with that being said, just cut off all communication with him. Ghost him. Do whatever it is you gotta do-"

"Ghost him?"

Kaliyah repeated. Leilani just nodded her head.

"Yup. He has a girlfriend and he's over here flirting with you. He'll be alright if you ghost him. He's a gangsta. He'll be fine."

Kaliyah couldn't help but chuckle as Leilani waved her hands.

"Or if you want to be mature about it, you can just tell him the truth and end all communication with him after that. Simple. But personally.. I would ghost him."

Leilani chuckled.

"Ghost him and then show up to Asian's party? He's definitely gonna be there and that's gonna be so awkward."

"Awkward how? Kaliyah you are just over thinking the situation. Von is a grown ass man. He clearly cheats on Asian constantly. This isn't nothing new for him at all."

Kaliyah couldn't help but lowkey feel like Leilani was right. Von was definitely a player at the end of the day, and Kaliyah knew officially that she wanted no parts of that at all. Even though she did develop small feelings for him, she knew she had to push those feelings down and out the way.

"You don't owe him anything Kaliyah. He's probably been texting other girls while texting you. As long as you separate yourself from the situation early, there shouldn't be any problems at all."

"You're right."

Kaliyah finally said. She sat up on her bed, picking up her phone right off the night stand.

"I'm just gonna block him. I'm not even gonna say anything to him."

She unlocked her phone, clicking on Von's contact name before blocking his number.

"Block him on instagram too. Don't he be trying to talk to you on there?"

Leilani pointed.

"Mmhm."

Kaliyah hummed. She proceeded to block him on instagram as well before locking her phone again.

"Done. Now he can't contact me at all."

She simply stated.

"So... are you still going to Asian's party this weekend?"

Leilani questioned. Kaliyah just leaned back into her bed again, letting out a deep sigh.

"Yeah. I sort of have no choice but to go. And y'all are coming with me. Both you and Shay."

She pointed.

"Say less. Might even find me a man out there or something."

Leilani playfully joked.

Kaliyah just made a face as Leilani continued to laugh.

Atlanta, GA📍
Tuesday, June 1st
8pm

The sound of music bumping loudly could be heard as Asian stood right outside the private studio door. There was a security guard standing in front of the door just eyeing her.

"Are you gonna let me in there Don, or what?"

Asian questioned, mugging Don the body guard as he refused to move out of her way.

"I'm sorry Asian, but I can't let you in. Von said that this was a private studio session and doesn't want to be disturbed-"

"I'm his girlfriend though. So I can disturb any fucking thing he got going on."

She snapped lightly.

"So if you don't move your big ass from the door I swear-"

"Mann just chill out Asian. Let me go ask him."

Don finally said, cutting her off. Asian just smirked, crossing her arms against her chest now as she watched him open up the door before heading inside. She tried to peak and see what was going on in there, especially to see if there were any females inside before the door closed shut.

Asian just huffed to herself, rolling her eyes in a full circle. She hadn't really seen Von that much these last couple of days. It was almost like he was avoiding her or something. Asian was really trying to deny the fact that Von just wasn't that into her anymore. She truly didn't want to except that at all. She loved him deeply and wanted nothing but their relationship to be great.

It didn't take long before Don opened up the door again. He nodded his head, motioning for Asian to come in. She just smirked, stepping inside while instantly scanning the room. To her surprise, there weren't any girls in here at all. It was simply just Dayvon in the booth, along with his producer who was working the sound board.

Asian swore that Von would be in here with a bunch of girls most likely cheating, but it seemed like that wasn't the case at all. She just quietly walked inside, deciding to take a seat on the couch as she kept her eyes on Von. He didn't even see her as he was busy focused inside the booth, working on a song.

She just placed her purse down before taking out her phone. She snapped a quick video of herself, turning the camera towards Von while recording him too. She recorded him for a few seconds before stopping the video and posting it to her story on instagram. She wanted everyone to know that her and Von were still a thing, and that he wasn't going anywhere-

"Aiight, I think that's enough fa today."

Dayvon spoke up, talking to the producer. Asian just locked her phone before watching as Von took off his headset. The music finally stopped playing as he exited the sound booth. His eyes landed on Asian finally; Asian giving him a small smile.

"Hey baby."

She said, hopping up off the couch. She wasted no time making her way toward him before throwing her arms around his neck.

"I hea' you was causin' trouble with Don out there?"

Von said, giving her a hug back before pulling away. Asian just playfully rolled her eyes.

"That's because he wouldn't let me in here. You should really tell your security guards who the fuck I am."

She pointed. Von chuckled slightly as she scoffed.

"Whatchu doin' hea tho? I'm a lil bit busy tryna finish up this album."

He stated. Asian just pouted her face a bit.

"Well I don't know Von, I feel like you and I haven't really hung out like that in forever."

She explained.

"Well yeah, that's because I'm in album mode. You know how that shit go Asian. This ain't nun new."

He simply said. He turned his focus towards his producer now, Asian watching as they both did a quick handshake before the producer left the studio.

"I know that Von... but... I miss you a lot."

She gently grabbed onto his arm, pulling his attention back towards her. She could see it in his eyes that his mind seemed to be somewhere else as he looked down at her.

"You miss me huh?"

He questioned. She just nodded her head.

"Yeah I do. I appreciate you paying for my birthday party this weekend. That really means a lot to me."

She said while squeezing his arm with her fingers.

"I'm glad it does. You invited all yo lil friends n shit?"

He said, pulling his arm away from her. Instead, he grabbed the blunt that was tucked in between his ear before placing it in his mouth. He reached down, grabbing a lighter from his pocket.

"Yes, I did invite some friends."

Asian began, watching as Von lit up the end of his blunt. She couldn't help but think about how fine he looked the way he was doing that. His lips were tucked in as he inhaled the smoke deeply.

"I also invited a cousin of mine that I hadn't talked to in years."

She slickly said, still watching as he exhaled the smoke into the air. Dayvon just nodded his head, not really paying attention to much of what she was saying.

"Her name is Kaliyah."

Asian blurted out. She watched intently as Von paused for a second, his eyebrows bunching together before looking back in her direction again.

"You have a cousin named Kaliyah?"

He questioned. Asian just nodded her head.

"Yup. She stays out in Chicago. Me and her used to be so close when we were kids. I just thought it would be fun if she came out this weekend. Don't you think?"

Asian raised her eyebrow up slightly. Dayvon just inhaled some more smoke before shrugging.

"I mean, it's yo party. You ca' invite whoever you want."

He nonchalantly spoke.

Asian's face just grew flat as she didn't get much of a reaction from Von after mentioning Kaliyah's name. She was so sure that he would slip up and say something, or maybe even be against Kaliyah coming since she assumed that he was cheating on her with Kali.

"I'm hungry though. You tryna get sum ta eat wit me?"

He simply said, grabbing his phone and car keys off the table. Asian just rolled her eyes now, not expecting for Von to be acting like this at all.

"Yeah, sure."

She mumbled, just as he led the way out the studio. Asian internally cursed herself, fully expecting Von to be caught in some sort of lie. She simply wanted to know if he was actually cheating on her with Kaliyah or not. But since he didn't give her much of a reaction about Kaliyah coming to the party, then maybe he wasn't cheating?

"What's wrong, why you seem so uptight Asian?"

Von's voice could be heard, interrupting her thoughts. Asian just snapped out of it, instead giving him a fake smile.

"Oh nothing. I'm just hungry like you said."

She muttered.

He just eye'd her slightly before nodding his head. He instead grabbed her hand, linking it with his before they both headed down the hall towards the exit.
