Niki POV
Our English professor was explaining to us about the classic authors back in the 80s and 90s, this topic was worth 20% of our grade which was the only reason no one missed the class and yes surprisingly Allen was sitting at the front with Eric which I never expected from him. I just want Allen back as my seatmate for some reason
Jay is a competitive ass that's what I realised from previous week
"okay class name me 5 classic authors of the 80s and 90s" Professor Biw said glancing at the class, 7 students including me and Jay
"Allen stand up" Professor Biw had noticed that Allen was drifting away from her class, who's going to save him this time
"me??why I didn't even raise my hand" he asked confused staring at the whole class
"I didn't ask you to day dream in my class either Mr Ma Allen" Professor Biw glared at him, dumb enough to talk with the english professor
"okay fine.........bitch........what was the question?" I heard him mumble something but none of the class were able to catch it
"you said something?" the professor asked confused
"yeah I did what was THE question" he uttered like he isn't talking with the professor
"name me 5 classic authors of the 80s and 90s or else you lose 20 % of your grades" the professor didn't give him a choice he had to anwer the question if he doesn't want to fail this semester
"fine whom am I kidding, uhh Alice Walker? Oscar Wilde......Jane Austen, George Enjoy and uhh....Anne Frank" he answered unsure and smiled awkwardly to me like I knew what was up with him just then I realised Anne Frank? she wrote autobiographies there was something wrong was it just me
"Anne Frank? its Anne Brontë update yourself with english history too" Jay stood up correcting him but it felt like he was offended in some way
"thanks for the correction Jay you may sit now both of you and also Allen next time I will make you stand in the middle of the campus if you don't pay attention in my class" she glares at him but Allen ignored and sat back
"okay anymore students who can name other classic authors?" she says like she didn't just threatened a student
"Professor Biw" I raised my hand but Jay beat me to it who stood up
"let's see who can name the most" professor Biw says with a smile, someone finally beat me to it
"Toni Morrison....Neil Gaimen" Jay responded without wasting a second
"James Patterson....Anne Rice" I had a strong come back
"Paul Auster Kazuo Ishiguro" he says in the speed of light
"Stephen-" he cut me off like what's his problem, honestly I couldn't stand him
"Margaret Atwood....I have named all five you want more?" he softly asked the Professor not before looking at me with a smirk
"you are quite talented....I heard that you were also the top student in your previous school" the professor said impressed by Jay's response
"thank you professor Biw" Jay says filled with pride, God I hated his guts
"so can you write a short biography on Oscar Wilde?" she says handing him the marker
"sure i don't mind" he gladly accepts it with a smug grind
"Niki check if he has missed anything important and let me know" the professor says to me while I simply nod in agreement
"here you go professor" he says walking towards the seat proudly
"aren't you half american?" I asked him looking at the board
"yeah I am you got a problem?" he scrowled annoyed
"actually yes I do, you have misspelled privilege you wrote village instead" I pointed it out to the whole class
"I know....I was just waiting for someone to notice it" he coughs out a laugh walking awkwardly towards the board and rewriting it
"Jay you can go back to your seat now" professor Biw says to him
"just too scared to admit that you are wrong frying PAN?" i smiled at him, who was annoyed by me
"me scared? and of what? you?" he laughed at me
"why would you be scared of me dumbass" i tiled my head towards the professor ignoring him, enough of being a good classmate from now he's my competitor and I have to be better then him
After 20 minutes
"Jay, Niki I have an assignment for the two of you" professor Biw says to us
"assignment? does it include the two of us interacting with each other?" Jay asked uninterested
"why would I put you up for an assignment together if it doesn't involve interactions between the two of you" professor Biw says to us
"what's the topic related to?" I asked her trying not to embarrass myself infront of her
"last week I had asked Yujin and Giselle to make a chart along with the assignment but they had a tight schedule so i thought the two of you would be complaible" she says like she doesn't understand the situation between us
"are you sure it's a good idea?" I asked the professor again, the whole class was eveastropping our conversation from inside the classroom, it was basically Wooyoung peeking out of the door and announcing the whole class about us, he was the news reporter from our class (that one guy from sec B in my school)
"I need you guys to pick out the topic you prefer and the date of submission will be fixed next week" the professor says to us
"so that's all right?" Jay asked her
"yeah I need both of your cooperation on the assignment" she says before walking away
"gosh faking your whole personality infront of the professor?" Jay stares at me
"doesn't concern you in any way" i said to him with a glare
"yeah it does....it gets more annoying every time" he says walking towards our classroom
"you think you look cool walking with your hands in your pocket?" I mumbled ,he looked like SpongeBob for a mid second
"what did you say?" he turns towards me with a glare, i almost died because of his glare
"oh...I was asking you when to we start the assignment?" I almost choked on my own saliva because of his glare
"today after classes are over meet me at the front of the campus" he says walking inside
"fine........asshole" i mumbled walking behind him, our classmates were staring at us like we were about to give them one of the most motivational speech
"what?you never saw humans?" Jay says to the class making them go back to their own business
I quietly walked up to my seat hoping to not get myself into some embarrassing situation like i usually do, while I was laying my head down on my desk I felt a paper hit my head
"what the-who threw this?" I mumbled looking around, Allen was constantly staring at me so I opened up the paper
"dude I can't find my history text book I think I left it inside my old desk do me a favour please I don't want to talk with that twit" I mumbled but I think Jay heard it cause he was glaring at me
Allen always lands me in trouble
"why is it always me.....does he think i like talking with him" i mumbled slowly turned my head to face Jay's annoyed face
"hey.....uh can you check if there is a history textbook inside the desk?" I asked him not sure of what i said
"I threw it away last week" he says facing the other side
"you what?!?" I almost screamed
"why do you care it's not even yours" he says uninterested
"you think money grows on trees or something" i said to him
"I can arrange that for you if you want" he says ignoring my whole existence
I couldn't do anything because if i start arguing with him, both of us would be in trouble and well I don't really give a shit about Jay
After all the classes were over
Still Niki's POV
I was approached by a smiling Allen infront of the library
"Nik so you got the book?" he asked me with a slight smile on his face
"oh yeah about that.......he threw it away last week" I said to him with an awkward laugh
"threw away.....my book?" he had a frown on his face
"I'm really sorry but I think you have to buy a new one" i said to him patting his shoulder
"no it's fine I just wanted to let you know that I bought a new one and if he is short of money for the textbook he can have it" he says with a smile, what does he think that Jay is some underprivileged teenager he is literally the son of a billionaire Allen really needs to use his brain sometimes
"damn why did I even pity you dipshit" i slightly pushed him away
"come on it's not like you have grudges against me" he laughed starting at me
"what's funny about my face" i scoffed
"you make that funny dumb looking expression when you are guilty I enjoy it" he laughs again
"it's not funny and also I have to go" I said walking away
"go where?you got a date with Samuel?" he smirked walking up to me
"no I've got a date with Park Jongsung" i said , finally we were outside our school campus
"may I know who's this Park Jongsung?" he asked curiously, is he that dumb for not knowing his own classmate
"see there is Jisung......hey" i ingnored Allen and waved at Jisung
"so are you coming with us?" Jisung asked me
"I can't I have some work to do tell Lia about it too and take this dumbass with you" i said to him, pushing Allen towards Jisung
"hey didn't you tell me you are going out on a date?" Allen stares at me dumb struck
"with english yeah......bye see you later" i waved walking away to look for Jay, i noticed that Samuel and Changha was walking up to Jisung and Allen but I just ignored it
