Y/N's POV:
We finished our chocolate mousse and I put the empty pots and spoons on the bedside table before turning back to Alex who was reaching over to get her previously tossed shirt from the floor. "You can keep it off if you want", I told her with a laugh and she shoved me before slowly putting it on with a small smirk.
"Y/N?", she turned to face me after a few seconds. "You know earlier when I was a bit distracted on my phone...", I nodded as I waited for her to continue. "Well I was talking to Abby..."
I nodded slowly, unsure how to react. "And is everything okay? Nothing bad happened right?"
"No no everything is all good, I think we both just wanted to clear some things, she's still my friend and with us and you and her I just didn't really get to talk to her these last like six months or so. She says she's happy for us and I do think she means it, I think she might have met someone".
"That's good, I'm happy for her", I said sincerely.
"...You don't regret things right...with me?", she asked timidly.
"Alex you shouldn't even have to ask that, I love you with all my heart and the only thing I regret is not having kissed you sooner", I reassured her as I took her in my arms.
"It's just...I know things probably would have been easier with her, and I know I'm difficult sometimes-"
"No more difficult than me", I smiled as I cut off her sentence. "Alex I don't know what's caused these...insecurities all of a sudden, if it's something I did I'm sorry. But please never sit here and think that I regret anything with you. For the tenth time today, I love you and I will love you every day from now", I told her with a grin as she nuzzled into my neck. "Can I tell you something really embarrassing...", she quickly sat up and looked at me.
"So...Abby once said I love you to me-"
"Y/N I don't want to hear this", she interjected.
"No wait baby, she said 'I love you Y/N' and I replied with...'I love you Alex'", as soon as the words left my mouth Alex gasped and put her hand over her mouth.
"Y/N you dumbass, I feel awful for her...when was this?", she asked curiously as she tried not to smile.
"Some months ago", I admitted with blushed cheeks.
"You've been in love with me for years haven't you Y/L/N? It's okay you can admit it now", she teased.
"Don't get me started on you Morgan, literally over a year ago when they mixed up the roomie schedules that one camp and you stayed with Kelley she told me you said my name in your sleep", I sniggered and watched as she buried her face in the blanket.
"Shut up, I was probably arguing with you in my dream because you were being annoying again", she told me with a blush and then hit me in the face with a pillow as I continued laughing at her.
She ended up climbing on top of my half naked body once more as she tried to pin me back and attached her lips to mine as we had done earlier on. "Babe I think you might be a sex addict", I laughed between kisses.
"Shush we're making up for like 2 months apart", she breathed out as she worked on my neck.
After a couple hours of delay Alex and I finally boarded our flight to join up with the national team with Texas this time. "So...I was thinking we should tell the girls", Alex turned to me as she laced our hands.
"Yeah that sounds good, I mean I know you're not out so as long as they can all keep a secret", I joked, referring to Sonnett in particular who was known for her big mouth. Alex nodded with a smile as we both agreed now would be a good time to let them all know.
"Alex...I have news about my playing career...but can I tell you once we get there", she tried pestering me for details but grew tired then she soon fell asleep on my shoulder as the long ten hour flight began.
We landed in Austin and got into an awaiting car that drove us to our national team camp. We entered the facility together and greeted the staff and coaches we saw along the way as we made our way to the conference room where everyone was gathering. We greeted our team mates and I made my way up to the front whilst Alex went to save me a seat next to Kelley.
"Hey Jill", I greeted our head coach, "Can I make an announcement at the end...with Alex?", I asked her nervously as I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Of course Y/N, and I'm really happy for both of you", she added with a knowing smile and a wink. How the fuck did she just know about us? "I pay attention Y/N", she answered the questions that were clouding my mind, she laughed at my slightly shocked reaction and then ushered me to get to a seat as the meeting would begin. I high fived a couple of my team mates in greeting as I made my way towards the back where there was an empty seat between Alex and Kelley waiting for me.
I quickly hugged Kelley and then sat down with a nervous smile as I subtly rested a hand on Alex's knee. "Real smooth Y/L/N", she whispered with a giggle before gently resting her hand over mine.
The meeting that usually felt like it dragged on for hours felt like it was done in seconds this time and before I knew it Jill was subtly nodding at me to come to the front with Alex. "Cmon we got this", Alex whispered to me as we both stood up and walked to the front, earning a few confused glances from our staring team mates.
"Guys...we have to say something", I started it off as I nervously looked out on all the staring faces. God was our team always this big I thought to myself. Alex stepped in to continue, "Y/N and I...we'retogetherasinwe'redating", Alex rushed out.
"Huh?", Sonnett voiced for the collective as I spotted Kelley holding back a laugh.
"Alex was trying to say...that me and her are...dating. We're together".
There was a couple seconds of silence as everyone processed what I had just said and then the room descended into chaos with shouts and squeals all around.
"WHAT?" "HOW?" "I FUCKING KNEW IT" "MEGAN YOU OWE TEN BUCKS" "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" "WHAT THE FUCK"
Alex and I laughed at their reactions, and then turned to each other with smiles as we laced our hands. "Okay one by one dumbasses", I told them and they all put their hands up, dying to ask us questions. "Fucking hell this feels like a press conference after the games", I muttered to the blue eyed woman beside me who sniggered and shoved me before we turned our attention back to our desperate team mates.
"When did it start?", Crystal asked.
"Ummm some point last year, timeline is a little fuzzy", I admitted with a nervous smile as my eyes met Abby's. She gave me a small smile as if to say it was okay and she was okay and I nodded gratefully.
"But you guys hate each other?", Megan asked confused as she ran a hand through her pink hair.
"We did? But we also never did? I'm not sure what happened", Alex told everyone with a laugh.
"Well thanks a lot fuckers, I'm down ten bucks to Sonnett now", Megan told us with a coy smile.
"Yeah I said you guys were fucking but she didn't believe me", Emily told everyone with a large grin as she waved her newly gained ten bucks in the air.
Everyone laughed at their antics and then the bombardment of questions continued.
"So guys...who helped you hide this relationship for so long? I mean they've got to be like the best-est friend one could ever ask for right?", Kelley voiced from the back with a big smirk on her lips.
"You fucking knew and didn't tell us?", everyone turned to her, and Alex and I laughed at the chaos that ensued as a few of our team mates faked wrestled Kelley to the floor. Twenty minutes later and thankfully the questions came to and end and everyone dispersed, flashing us smiles, 'congratulations', or in a few cases rude gestures as they left the room.
Before I knew it the room was empty and it was only Alex and me left. I turned to her with a tired smile and wrapped my arms around her waist as she held my face in her hands. "So...that happened", she smiled.
"Yeah that was a lot...but we finally did it", I admitted with a smile as I pulled her closer and closed the empty gap between our lips.
"Wait what are the room arrangements?", I interrupted after a few seconds.
"Ummm I didn't pay attention in all honesty but I think we might be together", she told me and I wiggled my eyebrows at her suggestively. "We're not fucking at camp Y/N everyone will hear us", she bit back a smile.
"Only because you're so...vocal", I grinned.
"We're not Y/N", she attempted to say with as much authority as she could muster.
"Yeah you say that now...", I laughed as I led us out the room, earning a shove in the side.
