In the evening,
After leaving her company, It took up half an hour to reach there. The head butler escorted Serena to the dinning hall where everyone else was seated. Sir Samuel Evans was sitting at the head of the table, On his right was his wife, Mrs. Amelia Evans. On the seat second to his left was her younger brother, Noah Evans. She walked towards them slowly looking at the now empty seat on the left of her father, Where that person used to seat...the memory of that person sitting on that seat and eating happily while joking around flashed in front of her like the present is just an illusion and that person is still there with her. Serena looked away from that seat and then looked at the culprit, Her father and his wife seating on the head chair with no regrets or guilt on their faces.
Serena reached to the table and took a seat at the other end opposite from her father and furthest away from them.
"At last you came, I thought we would have to wait till morning to have dinner with you." Her father, Mr. Samuel Evans, taunted her with a cold face.
"Well, then it should be an honor for you that you are having dinner with me earlier than expected." Serena said calmly while helping herself with the food.
"Obnoxious! You still haven't changed..." Her father said angrily.
"Well, I can say the same for you both that you still haven't changed with no regrets at all like a shameless person!" Serena said focusing on her dish.
"Serena!!! Is this the way to speak to your father?!" His wife, Amelia Evans shouted angrily, While Noah Evans looked at Serena worriedly. Even though the relationship between his parents and sister has been estranged for years, His relationship with her sister is of a strong bond between sister-brother.
"Huh! Then in which way you suppose me to speak to a murderers? Tell me! May be you have forgotten about your sin since it has been elven years but I will never!" Saying she put her cutlery down ready to stand up when her father's voice stopped her.
"I called you here today to tell you something important! Seat down back!" Her father ordered in a stern voice and she took her seat again.
"What is it?" She asked looking at them probingly.
"I hope that you are well aware about The Anderson Family." Her father stated.
"Yes, the richest and the most respectable family having their business expanded into almost every industry. So what? What about them?" Serena asked boringly.
"Master Alexander Anderson, The chairman of Anderson Group of Companies has asked your hands in marriage with his grandson, Mr. Ethan Anderson. He said he liked your way of doing business and your capabilities, He was impressed by you and decided that there can't be anyone else suitable for his grandson but you. I gave my approval, So now it is decided that you are going to marry into The Anderson Family." Her father stated like it is not something big at all.
"You must be kidding me? Who the hell gave you the rights to decide about my marriage?" Serena said coldly holding her anger back. Noah and Amelia didn't try to butt in fearing their anger, they just kept looking at both of them with worry in their eyes.
"Why not? Even if you don't respect me as your father, Legally and biologically I am still your father, And we are your family, So why can't I decide for my daughter. And do you know each every girl will die for an opportunity like this, To be able to get married into The Anderson Family and even to the sole hair of that family, Ethan Anderson, It's like having this whole country in your hands, Don't you understand it? You are lucky to be chosen by the chairman himself." Her father praised which was all true anyway but she couldn't care less.
"An opportunity like this? marrying with Ethan Anderson? hahaha....Well it's true that it is the best opportunity a girl can get but Please don't make me loath you more and hate my life more for having a father like you? If you have chosen this person, he must be just like you whom I hate the most." Serena said loathingly then smiled unbelievingly.
"Why are you focusing on the rumors', Don't you know the titles he has achieved after taking over as CEO of the Anderson group...He is the best businessman...The richest and the most eligible bachelor...Why are you just focusing on the thing that it is me who has decided on him to be your husband?" Her father said forcibly.
" You know why...Because I don't want to include anyone in my life just like you...irresponsible to the core...who wouldn't be responsible for his acts until the end just like you...did you hear that!!!" She said looking directly at her father, at her words everything felt silent.
After a while her father speak again, "I don't care, If I have decided that you are going to marry him, it means you are going to marry...Do you get it?"
"And I said No...means No!" Serena stated clearly and stood up to leave taking a look at that woman and younger brother.
"Even if I give you the thing you have been looking for years?" Her father said behind her.
"What do you mean?" She stopped in her tracks and asked.
"What I mean is...I have the thing you are looking for years desperately." Her father stated again looking at her.
She walked to him and asked desperately," Where is it? Tell me!" She knows her father wouldn't lie, If he says that he has those things, It means he really has.
"I will give you that thing, Of course, After your marriage in The Anderson Family." Her father stated with no remorse on his face.
"You truly are a businessman! scoff...I never knew that you can stoop this low for your selfish reasons, Well today you really have opened my eyes." Serena looked at her father with disappointed eyes.
"I am being bad right now just for our family , It means your sake. Now tell me whether you will get married or not?"
"Let me make it clear it's your family, not mine. My family died twelve years ago. And you said you are doing it for my sake...Just like you did for her sake in the past, right? haha........ please don't kid others. Okay, I will marry to whoever it is, My condition is that my identity should be as private as possible, I don't want it to be public. I want to stand on my own with my business without using anyone's name for as long as I can." She said determinately before looking at Noah.
"You! Walk me to the door." Serena said looking at Noah who was nodding his head at her order like an obedient rabbit, Then went out with his sister.
"Sis, I am sorry, I can't even say anything to support in front of father." Noah said once they walked out to the garden with a sad face.
"It's okay, I can support myself well, you just have to make sure to support your own self when I am not around, Got it?" Serena said while patting her brother's head lovingly, Then she took out a key from her pant's pocket and handed to her brother.
"Wwwwoooowwww!!!" Looking at the keys in his sister's hand, He jumped with full excitement like he got his most favorite thing ever, "Sis, did you really bought it for me!!! Thank you so much, Oh god...even its key is sexy like hell..."
"Hey, watch your language young man!" She said warning him.
"Sorry, I just am just really really excited...I can't believe that you finally got me the limited edition AMB 001, Sis, you are the best!" Noah was as excited as a child.
"I know." Serena agreed shamelessly and said, "Didn't I promise you I will gift your favorite sports bike to you after you would get the admission into Oxford after your school."
"Yes! And I did it. But sis, really I have never thought that you would really gift me this..." Noah said caressing the keys in his hands.
"Okay, The bike is hidden in the back of your garage. You can see it later. Now I have to go. Take care of yourself properly, Did you hear me?" Serena said with concern in her voice.
"I will, You too, Sis, Take care of yourself...You are the most cherished person of my life, You should take care." Noah said emotionally while embracing her sister in a warm hug.
"I will for sure since I have to fulfill my promise to someone." Serena whispered while thinking of that person. They hugged each other for a while then let go, "Bye"
"Bye, Sis. Don't forget to call me whenever you are free." Noah insisted.
"I won't, Bye." She said getting into her car and then drove away thinking about her upcoming forced marriage!!!
