It's been five days since the incident and I've been constantly texting y/n to check up on her to see if she's doing okay and everything. So far we've facetimed for every night that she's been off school and it seemed to really get her to focus on something other than Daeho for once.
I'm so glad he's gone, all he did was cause trouble and crime. I'm proud of myself for speaking up to him, it needed to be heard.
Anyways, I'm on facetime with y/n at the moment and I'm sat at my desk doing my homework while talking to her and laughing with her at the same time. She also occasionally helps me with the certain things I don't know in the homework.
"Kyungjun-ah, I realised I never properly thanked you for all you've done, so thank you so so much, I appreciate it and I don't know what I would've done without you. Everytime you tried to take my focus off that dickhead, it worked and I'm so greatful that you actually want to help me out in this. Like right now, I'm all happy talking to you and it's great. So for the last time, thank you Kyungjun-ah." she said and smiled at me. I of course smiled back and replied with "don't even mention it. I mean what was I supposed to do, watch?"
We both subtly laughed at my statement.
"Besides, making other people happy is what makes me happy. So I'm happy right now because you are too and that's all I care about. y/n if you need anything, and I mean anything, then just know I'll always be by your side and you can tell me anything. I'll never leave your side, you can count on me, yeah?" I reassured her with a comforting smile on my face.
"Thanks so much Kyungjun-ah, if I could hug you right now, I would." she said. That warmed my heart honestly. Ah, she's so cute.
"I hope no one like that shows up again." she says.
"Me too. If they do I'll punch them in the face and make them regret not only what they did so hard, but their entire life choices too." I say back and she laughed at what I'd said.
"People like that just don't belong in schools or anywhere public really. They need to be educated on how to be civil and all that stuff." she said.
"Mm, yeah." I replied.
"I think I'll come back tomorrow." she said "I think I'm ready to come back, I mean he's gone now anyway and you're gonna be there and so are my other friends so I think I'll be fine."
"Are you sure y/n-ah?" I asked her.
"Yeah. If you have something to say then please say it."
"It's just, I would use up all the maximum time I'm given if I were you. It gives you more time to recover from it and learn what to do from then on. It's also a good bunk. But it's your choice, just saying." I said.
"You're right. I should learn to stand up for myself to be fair. Well more so to be a bit more brave. I do agree that using up all the time I was given is good to recover and learn but I don't want to miss anymore days of school than I should. If we were a year back in time I'd use up all the time, but this point in the school years is probably one of the most important years. So I think I'll stay home for just one more day and actually try learn something and then I'll come back on Thursday." she said.
"Okay. You know what, I'll come and visit you tomorrow, how's that sound? And I can teach you a couple things, and we can hang out and what not." I suggested with a broad smile on my face.
"Yeah, that sounds great." she said, returning the smile.
"Cool, I'll come straight after school."
"Wait but don't you want to wear something comfortable?"
"I'll pack some clothes in my bag in the morning then I'll change at your's." I said to her.
"Oh alright. Great, can't wait to see you." she smiled cutely which had me giggling. "let me go tell my parents real quick. Be back in a sec."
"K, I'll do that too."
And then we both went away from our phones to let out parents know about tomorrow. Turns out they both approved of it and neither of us could wait to see eachother.
Anyways y/n and I talked until about half past eleven when she reminded me of the time and I told her that I should go and get some sleep otherwise I'll be half dead tomorrow from lack of sleep so we hung up and both went to bed after.
time skip
"Aight see you guys tomorrow!" I said to two of my mates, Hwi and Junhyeok. We always walk home together after school as we all go the same way and usually I don't leave them this early but y/n lives closer to the school so I said bye a bit earlier today.
"Bye Hyung, have fun with y/n!" Junhyeok said.
"Yeah, just not too much fun!" Hwi added on, making us all burst out laughing and me responding to that with "shut up Hwi!" before continuing on with our walks home.
"Aaand I think this is it. Yeah, number 48." I said to myself as I arrived at my destination. I knocked on the door and only seconds later I was greeted by the one and only y/l/n y/n.
We hugged eachother tightly and said hi before she let me into her house.
"How are you y/n, everything okay?" I ask her.
"Yup, all good. You?"
"Same here."
"How was school?" she asked me.
"Alright I guess." I said.
"By the way both my parents are at work right now but my dad's gonna be home in about two hours and my mum's gonna be home in about three."
"Oh okay."
We then heard a text coming from one of our phones. It couldn't of been mine because mines in my blazer pocket and I didn't feel it vibrate so it must've been y/n's.
"Speak of the devil, my mum just texted asking if you're here yet." I giggled at that and then she proceeded to text back.
"Let me give you a little house tour then you can change." she said.
"Yes ma'am." I said in a jokey tone, making her snap her head to look at me with a sort of weirded out smile on her face, making my laugh even more.
So she then briefly showed me round her house before we got to the last place, her room.
It was actually beautiful, I loved it. You can tell she's creative. She even has her own ensuite bathroom which is where I changed into regular clothes. I brought a baby blue T-Shirt with writing on the back and a pair of blue denim shorts. It was summer after all.
She wore a white crop top with a pair of black denim shorts.
"Are you hungry?" she asked me after I put all my stuff down next to her bed.
"Are you kidding, I'm starving, I could literally eat anything." I said.
"Hehe, well come on then, we've got ramen, we can make tteokbokki, or we can just have some rice and kimchi and maybe I've got seaweed sheets for that aswell." she said, listing a couple dishes as I followed her downstairs to the kitchen.
"What are you having?" I asked her as I was kinda indecisive of which one to choose.
"Probably the rice and kimchi 'cause my mum's kimchi is literally to die for." she said.
"Okay I'll have that aswell then."
As we arrived in the kitchen she told me to sit down even though I asked her if I should help, but she refused, claiming it would only take two minutes to prepare for the two of us. She checked all the cupboards for the seaweed sheets and then finally found some in the fourth one. She placed them on the table before getting the kimchi and rice out the fridge. She heated up the rice and when it was done she scooped some into two bowls. She gave one of them to me and placed the other one on my left where she'd be sitting and the she got us chopsticks to eat with. She placed them next to our bowls of rice and then asked me "do you want anything to drink?"
"Yeah please, what do you have?" I asked.
"Orange juice, Dr. Pepper, sprite, water, sparkling water." she said.
"I'll take a Dr. Pepper." I said and so she got two cans of Dr. Pepper, handing me one of them.
"Oh my God, you actually like Dr. Pepper, not many people do. But it's my favourite drink of all time." she said.
"I know right, I don't get how you can't like it." I said, agreeing with her.
We then finally dug into the food and enjoyed every last bite of it while having a small conversation at the same time.
Once we were done I helped her put all the dishes in the dishwasher and asked her "so have you learned anything about defending yourself yet?"
"I tried. I looked up videos and tips online and obviously just tried to use my common sense and I don't know if it's good or not." she responded as she closed the dishwasher.
"Okay well that's better than nothing. Can we try a scenario?" I asked as we got to the living room.
"Right here, right now?" she asked, stunned by the sudden question.
"Mhm." I simply replied with a lil' smile on my face.
"O-okay." she said.
"Okay so imagine I'm your bully. Were walking in the hall and we just so happen to see eachother and I push you, what do you do?" I set the scene and observed her words and body language as she went through it.
"Okay, not bad for a start. But you still seem a bit nervous and timid when you do it so I'd suggest don't have your hands infront of you or behind your back but maybe like crossed or in your pockets, or just simply down at the sides but the key is to not look awkward. And have a stern and dominant look on your face. Talk to me as if there's nothing more you despise in this world and add some attitude and confidence to your tone 'cause you gotta intimidate them so they don't get the audacity to talk back to you. Unless they do but then I'll show you what to do in a minute." I instructed her.
"Okay, got it, let's try again." she said, clapping as we both stepped back to re-enact it again.
"Damn love the determination, girl. Let's get it!" I said as we did it again.
"So much better!" I told her and we then high fived.
"Awesome! Okay so now what do I do if they talk back?" she asked me.
We continued to do that for another twenty or so minutes until she was completely ready for anything coming her way. We then decided to go out and get ice cream since the weather was super nice.
I actually really like being around her. It gives me a sense of instant joy and safety. We've been good friends since the start of secondary school but we've most definitely gotten somewhere a little further over the past couple weeks.
six months later
"Boo!" I heard my favourite voice behind me as they jumpscared me.
"Hey baby" I said to y/n and kissed her soft lips.
We've been dating for about a month now and we've been going stronger than ever even if it's not been that long. We sort of just developed feelings for eachother ever since that whole incident with Daeho and here we are now. Our friends tease the daylight out of us on a daily basis but we kinda just roll with it at this point.
"Eewww get a room you two!" Sungjun said, being his usual teasing self.
I had my left arm round her waist and had her pulled closely next to me as I was leaned up against a locker with my right shoulder.
"Shut up Sungjun it's not like we were swallowing eachother." y/n said while laughing.
"Well thank God for that" Hyunsoo said, also laughing.
"I mean would you like to see us swalling eachother 'cause we'll gladly show you" I asked them jokingly. They all said no, obviously, and we had a massive laughing fit.
Minutes later, one of y/n's friends came and she went with her as they have first period together so we all said bye to her before she left.
"Taehun-ah, what's first?" I asked Taehun.
"Uuhhh.. ooh, yes! It's basketball!"
"Let's gooo!" I said, feeling super happy that we have a good first lesson.
"Luckyyy I have English." Sungjun said with a sulky face.
"It's okay Sungjun-ah, that's a hundred times better than Geography." Hwi said as he grabbed the younger one's shoulder.
"Aw man I forgot we had Geography first thing today." Junhyeok said a he started to massage his temples.
"Ha I've got music, suck on that." Hyunsoo said.
"Alright Hyung, no need to rub it in." Junhyeok said jokingly just before the bell rang.
"Alright, see you guys later!" I yelled to the others as I walked off with Taehun.
I couldn't take y/n off my mind. She's just the perfect girl for me. I can't imagine leaving her. I'm trying my best to treat her like the queen she is, especially after what she's been through as I don't ever want to make her get flashbacks of it.
She's too precious to me.
