Kyungjun's POV
I'm known as the quiet kid in school who doesn't talk a lot except for when I'm with my friends, 'cause then it's a whole different story. But I get picked on for it by certain people and to be honest, it doesn't really phase me as I just occasionally throw them a death stare then brush it off and move on. I sit at the back of the class, behind my classmates y/n and Daeho. I've always despised Daeho, he's a damn creep honestly. He makes y/n uncomfortable to the max with literally just his presence, that's how bad he is, I can tell 'cause I literally sit right behind them so it's not easy to miss.
I confronted him about it once already telling him that he's clearly making y/n uncomfortable so he should stop and keep his hands and opinions to himself but he just told me to mind my own business. I also try talk to y/n sometimes to make her feel less uncomfortable but either Daeho calls her name and makes her turn back around therefore making her uncomfortable again, or the conversation just doesn't last that long. I do try make it last as long as possible for the sake of y/n's comfort. I just hope this gets solved soon and quickly. She did try to ask the teacher to move seats once but of course, it didn't work. She should just tell them in private that Daeho's making her uncomfortable and then not only will she finally be moved but Daeho will probably get in big trouble aswell.
Anyways, we're now heading to our last lesson which is maths. I literally don't have the energy to see Daeho on a Friday afternoon. C'mon Kyungjun-ah, it's only an hour, you'll get through it and then it's the weekend.
So I arrived to class and sat in my seat which was next to my pal Taehun. I did a little handshake with him then sat in my seat by the windows and got out all my supplies. It came to my attention that Daeho was already in his seat and y/n wasn't there yet. When she arrived I observed closely at where those hands of his went and it went dangerously close to underneath her skirt, and not by accident. This made my blood boil so much. How can human beings be so disgusting? Women should not have to be treated the way they're treated these days, it's diabolical.
Anyways it was about halfway through the lesson when I saw from the corner of my eye that Daeho's arm shifted a bit towards y/n. I raised myself a little as I was slumped back on my chair and what I saw made the veins on my forehead pop out. His hand was on her thigh and she clearly wasn't looking it at all. I couldn't take it, I know it has nothing to do with me but I have every right to get in the middle of it, what kind of person would bystand this kind of thing?
"Yah, Son Daeho what the hell? Get your goddamn hands off her. She's a human being ya know and you're clearly making her uncomfortable. I've said it before but it looks like you just don't care. And that's fucking disgusting. Who do you think you are treating a woman like that? She's not some piece of shit that you can just fuck about with, she's a human being just like the rest of us so respect her instead of sexually assaulting her on the daily." I got gasps from the entire class at that. "You're one hell of a menace to the face of this Earth Daeho." I said, standing up from my seat and raising my voice at him as the teacher kept trying to interrupt me throughout but actually started to quiet down as I went on.
Daeho then stood up aswell and said "Well would you look here, the quiet kids using his voice!" he laughed, like only him, the rest of the class stayed dead silent. Lmao what a saddo. "Didn't I tell you already to mind your own goddamn business, Woo? You deaf or what? Why do you care what I do with her, you jealous or what?"
"As if I'd be jealous of you. Sorry but I'm really not jealous of your sexual assault, thank you very much. Besides what does it matter if it's my business or not, I have every right to get involved because I'm not the kind of asshole who bystands these kinds of incidents because they're simply foul." I said to him, my blood boiling even more now.
"Right, Daeho, Kyungjun, y/n, outside with me now. Class prez, you're in charge for the time being." the teacher said as the three of us followed closely behind her. As we went outside the classroom, we slid the door shut and the teacher pulled y/n on her side with the two of them facing me and Daeho.
"Daeho is it true what I just heard, that you've been sexually assaulting y/n?" the teacher questioned sternly.
"No miss, he's clearly lying he just wants the attention!"
"Why would I want attention for something like this, that would be disgusting. Miss, it is true, I see y/n being uncomfortable every single day around Daeho, even just by his presence. He tends to say awful-" I got rudely interrupted by Daeho, of course telling me to "shut your mouth, Woo, shut up!" Ha, you could tell he was in panic mode.
"Daeho, silence!" the teacher yelled at him. "So I was saying, he tends to say super awful and inaproppriate things to her, get touchy with her and now's the first time I see him being this terrible. I've tried to put her out of her misery by talking to her as much as I can and I even tried to tell Daeho once that he was clearly making y/n uncomfortable but he just told me to mind my own business." I explained.
"Is this true?" the teacher questioned y/n. She didn't say anything, just looked at the ground.
"Is it true, y/n?" she asked again. And slowly, y/n finally nodded, still looking at the ground.
"What? You slut! How can you do that? I'll get-"
"Daeho, enough! That truly is revolting of you! Shame on you Son Daeho! How dare you say and do such things to a woman!" the teacher said with her eyebrows furrowed.
"Is there anything you'd like to say y/n?" she calmly asked y/n who was looking really small and worried.
"Yeah, actually. I've- I've tried to make him stop before, but he just wouldn't no matter what. I stood up for myself multiple times but he just.. took control over me. And I wanna say thank you, Kyungjun, for helping me out this whole time, I really appreciate it."
I smiled back at her comfortingly as a you're welcome.
"Alright well then we're going to have to do something about that then, won't we? Daeho, I'm afraid there's nothing you can say that can go against what was already said. I'm sure you know that these kinds of things lead to suspension or most likely exclusion."
"But miss, please can I ta-" Daeho begged but got a straight refusal from the teacher.
"Silence. All three of you follow me."
And so we all followed the teacher to the headteacher's office where we had a talk for like an hour and a half, including individuals. The teacher that took us here was given permission to leave after answering only a few questions about it.
Anywho, in the end it ended up with Daeho getting expelled. The headteacher said it wasn't only because what he's done to y/n was horrendous but also because he's already been suspended three times for other cruel things he's done so you know, it's not like he wasn't given a chance.
"I don't want to see you on the premesis anymore after this week, you understand?" the heateacher asked firmly, talking to Daeho. He sighed but answered with "yes sir."
"Good, now can you please wait outside, I'll be with you in no more than five minutes. I'll be calling all your parents by the way, I'm sure you expected that, but don't be too worried."
Daeho then walked out the office with just me, y/n, and the headteacher left in there.
"Now Ms. y/n, I am going to allow you to stay home for five days at the very maximum, that is excluding weekends, as I can tell you're very shaken up from this entire thing and I insist you take time to take some care of yourself. So, if you do decide to be gone for five days, then I need to see you back on Friday next week, that's the maximum I'll be allowing you. So the five days starts tomorrow, but of course you can come back earlier if you wish. I'd expect you to be gone atleast two days, but if you need any longer than five, then please tell me and I'll consider it. And I'll also send you the work regularly for each day so please make sure to check on it and take some notes, because it's still important. Lastly, please keep me updated on each day via email, yeah?" he said to y/n in a much more comforting tone.
"Yeah. Thank you so much, sir. Uh- I have one question." she said.
"Go on." he said to her, still in that comforting tone.
"Will those days I miss be taken off my attendance?"
"No, I'll make sure they won't be." he said and gave her a comforting smile which she returned ever so slightly.
"As for you Mr. Kyungjun, I'm going to ask you a very big favour that will earn you an award from me at the end of the term. Can you please look after y/n and take care of her with your all? It's almost like you're her bodygaurd. Is that okay with you Ms, y/n?" he asked her and she nodded. "You are the perfect person for this job seeing as you were the one who stood up to Daeho on y/n's behalf." the headteacher said to me. This brightened my eyes and I immediately replied with "Yes sir, I can do that for you. I won't let anyone mess with her and I'll make her feel as comfortable as I can."
"Good, that's what I like to hear. You're a very courageous boy Woo Kyungjun. Keep it up. Thank you for doing this, I'll let all your teachers know about it so, for example, if they put your class in pairs or groups for a project, you two will be together." he said, sending me a warm smile which I returned as we both said "okay sir, thanks a lot."
"But wait, sir, I just have one last question if that's okay." I said just before we all got ready to leave.
"Yes, of course." he said.
"Am I not in trouble? I mean I completely interrupted an entire maths lesson and raised my voice at another student and completely ignored the teacher when she tried to stop me. Isnt that a sanction?" I questioned him.
"You see, if it wasn't for a good reason then yes, it would've been a sanction, but because this was for a very much valid reason, it won't be a sanction. I was actually considering one to be honest but I thought what's the point if all you were doing is protecting another student from sexual harassment? Does that make sense?"
"Yes, thank you sir." I said to him before we all left and me and y/n had to get our bags at this point and go home because it was obviously way past the end of the day now.
"Thank you so much Kyungjun" suddenly I felt y/n jump and hug me tightly, which took me by surprise but I hugged her back nevertheless.
"Don't even mention it." I said back.
"I really owe you one, Kyungjun-ah." she said as we pulled away and continued walking back to the classroom.
"Oh please, you literally didn't even do anything, don't worry about it." I said to her.
"No, I can't just let you do that and then have me do nothing in return. How does some dakbal sound? My treat."
"y/n, you don't have to-"
"No, honestly, I want to do it in return for what you did for me. As a thank you."
"Fine. Wanna go now?"
"Yeah, okay!" she said joyfully, making me giggle.
She's so sweet.
I'm so glad I could help someone in this kind of situation and I'm also glad that a dickface like Daeho doesn't come to our school anymore.
