"Toy story" I paused. "Click" Pause-
"And fast and furious?" Adam cut my short pause. We were in the video place renting 3 movies to watch before Adam's shift at racing. He knew me to well.
"You know me to well" I smiled as i picked up fast and furious out of the old movie box. They still had the movies Toy Story and Click in the pile which surprised me.
Adam payed the money to rent the movies and we were in his car once again. His amazing Lexus LFA.

"Oh my god! that's so sad" I grabbed another tissue and wiped my eyes when i saw Andy leave his favourite toys in the care of a happy little girl that he knew would take good care of them. I saw Adam in the corner of my eye who had absolutely no emotion.
I slapped his leg. "Ow what was that for?!" He complained.
"How are you not crying?" I asked as my arms gestured to the TV where scrolling credits were now shown.
He shrugged. "I don't cry in movies" He looked at me while nudging my shoulder. "I now know you do"
I wiped the tears away and looked away, when i did i saw the movie 'Titanic' in his pile of DVDs's. Wow his parents are amazing. I jumped up, got the dvd out and waved it in front of his face. "Have you seen this?" I asked.
"Nope" He shook his head.
My mouth fell open and he physically lifted his arm up to close it. I narrowed my eyes and spun on my heel to put the disc into the dvd player. Behind me he cleared his throat and chuckled. I turned around in my crouched position and looked at him with a questioning look.
I stood up when he did and cocked my head to the side. He got out his phone and showed me the time, this was when i cocked my head and grew even more confused. What was showing me the time going to do? Or was i completely oblivious to- Oh! right we had that race to go to.
"Oh" I said slowly while scratching the back of my neck sheepishly.
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah" He said as if i was stupid. I gave him a tight smile and stuck up my middle finger to his face. "Hey hey" He put my hand down. "Calm it bro"
"Okay, hang on" I laughed. I took the DVD that i just put in, out and returned it to its cover. Within two metres away i grabbed my bag and put my shoes on. It was 7:30pm and we had to be there by 8pm, to be honest my insides were jumping up and down with adrenaline. I don't know i just feel that i finally get to be part of racing, something that i've dreamed about being part of ever since i was like 10.
Now you wouldn't think someone who got straight A's, never got in trouble by the teacher, never got detention and didn't associate myself with drugs like most 17 year olds would do, would want to be involved in street racing, but surprise surprise i do. I guess it's because i get a kick out of doing something that i'm in control of.
When my brother finally told me he was not only dealing with street racing but was in with street fighting and dancing i couldn't help but feel; different. I felt like i had to change myself to suit the lifestyle of Jake. Meeting Austin was probably one of the best and worst things i've done, best because he made me feel wanted not that i didn't feel it, he also made me happy in a way no one could. Worst because when he stepped into my life, danger squeezed through as well.
I walked into his kitchen and started raiding it for food. "Come on" Adam called out from where i was guessing; the lounge room. I grabbed the closest thing to me which was a cookie jar and picked out the biggest cookie. As soon as i closed the lid i raced out and walked past Adam as he shut the front door.
When he started driving to wherever the destination was i connected my phone to the car and played the song 'Teach Me How To Dougie'. Adam nodded to the song while i was in my own world, jamming out in my Dougie. I rapped along to the words i knew and Adam joined me after giving me a weird look. I laughed and put the song on replay for the rest of the car trip.
"I swear i hate the song now" Adam shook his head as we got out of the car.
"I don't" I shrugged my shoulders.
"Course you don't" He looked over at me. This race was a massive one, like seriously their were cars lined up in every spot except for the drag strip. I wonder what they would do when the police came, they wouldn't be able to drive out without smashing into each other. I rolled my eyes, people don't think things through but i guess neither do i.
Lights were provided my cars and the ones closest to the drag strip were filling their cars up with fuel. We walked past a lot of people making out and standing really close together which only reminded me about Austin. I bit my lip, i mean like i told him i'd be with Adam and that we'd be going to a race but i just felt like i shouldn't be doing something like this without him.
When we reached the bar, one person stuck out to me. I couldn't miss the platinum blond straight hair and brown eyes. The long legs and pretty faced Kelly. She lent against the bar counter and stared hungrily at Adam but suddenly came to a stop when she saw me. I gave her a smug look as i stood next to her and Adam went around the counter.
"Fancy seeing you" I smiled politely.
Her eyes flicked from me to Adam and her mouth turned into a sneer. "Hello Avery"
"How's it going?" I asked as i reached for a vodka bottle and two shot glasses. Adam looked at both of us obviously feeling the tension.
"I don't-" I cut Adam off with a wave of my hand and looked at Kelly expectantly. I knew he was going to saw taking shots wasn't a good idea but hey, this Kelly chick was already on my nerved from the other day.
"Wonderful, you?" She answered trying not to sound bothered. I handed her a glass and we both downed it at the same time. My throat burned but i ignored it.
"Spectacular" I smiled and poured another glass.
"That's great" She poured herself a glass and took a shot. "How's Austin?"
I swallowed the vodka. "He's actually really nice, he's good too" A smirk appeared on her face and i laughed mentally. "At racing"
Her smirk dropped. "Oh"
"Yeah i don't jump in bed with guys straight away" I looked away and muffled my laugh. "Or in your case the back seat of a car"
"Excuse me?" Her voice sounded offended and i looked at her to see her mouth hanging open. In the corner of my eye i saw Adam with an eyebrow cocked.
"You know" I pointed to her short skirt then to her half top. "Where's the bottom half of that top? did you cut it and use it as the skirt or something?" I asked. My mouth was almost about to open with laughter.
Adam started laughing and so did some girl that was ordering a drink. I turned my head and she winked at me. When i turned my head back around Kelly did something i was totally expecting; a slap. Her perfectly manicured nails collided with my cheek and made a loud sound. I rubbed my face and knew a red hand mark would appear.
"Damn what was that for?" I narrowed my eyes but wasn't fazed.
She smirked. "Well you did call me a slut"
I couldn't hold it in, i keeled over and started laughing so hard i gained attention. I stood up straight but was still laughing and saw Kelly was looking at me as if i was mental. "I didn't call you a slut" I said in between my gasps for air.
"You implied it" Her face was angry which made me laugh more. I reached over to the vodka and without pouring a glass i downed some. Adam snatched the bottle off me after giving me a dirty look.
"Well yeah i did" I shrugged. "But i didn't say it"
"Whatever" She turned on her heel and her extensions flicked me in the face as she walked away.
"Oh god i need another drink" I said after recovering from my laughing.
"No you can go walk it off" Adam waved his hand in the direction of the door. I gave him a dull face and turned around slowly. I hung my head and dragged my feet outside.
"Fine" I mumbled. I walked through the door and saw Kelly walking one way so i went the walked the opposite way. There was a race that just started and i saw the cars speed off when a girl dropped a bra. I stuck around for a bit but kept walking when i couldn't see their cars anymore.
At some point i almost thought i lost myself in the chaos of the cars because i couldn't see the bar anymore with it's flashing lights. When i stepped closer to the racing cars their engines were like car heaven to my ears, and my adrenaline rush accelerated.
I stopped when i reached the point where it was almost the end of the drag strip, and saw the fastest car in the world; a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. I gasped when i saw it's clean rims and traced a finger around the car. No one stood near it which surprised me because who would leave a car like this alone? someone would most likely steal it. This car was street legal and was a shiny black and red. When i thought about it i realised that as it may be the fastest car in the world it wasn't a car you would want to race miles in to get away from someone. Why? because you would damage the 2 million you bought it for and because it might not have the skills to twist and turn at last thought.
It's sleek hood shined against the moonlight and i couldn't help but just step back and admire the fine piece of metal. "Ah yes, i'm guessing you like it?" I heard a man say from behind me. I slightly jumped.
"Like it? I lo-" I started to say but when i turned around i saw it was an old man that spoke. "ve it" I finishes slowly.
He dressed in a dark purple suit and i questioned his fashion sense that proved to me to be poor. Next to him stood two tall younger men with broad shoulders. They had their hands folded neatly in front of them and their chins lifted high.
"I am glad, It is my sons car" He nodded his head to the shadows and out came out a boy around Jake's age.
"Well uh yeah it's actually an amazing car, but i um have to go now" I turned around to walk away but was stopped by his next sentence.
"I know who you are Avery Collins" My head slowly turned around to the person who said it and saw the old man's son was joined by a taller guy who in fact was, someone i didn't know. Shit, i couldn't say a retort like 'yeah i know who you are'
"Wow, stalker much?" I threw my head back and turned around like i had better things to do than talk to some random who was successful in intimidation.
"I know you're boy Austin" He nodded his head once.
"Let me guess he beat you in a race and now you want revenge?" I decided on a smart ass answer instead of playing it safe. Great.
Not again. First it was Drake boy and now this random? was i on someone's death list or something? What was it about Austin that attracted so many of his enemies to me? Oh right i am his girlfriend now and when you're a thug like these guys you'd have to have connections to find out highly confidential news. Were these guys going to kidnap me again and threaten Austin when he came to save me?
"Oh no, no this happened in a competition"
"Dancing?" I asked.
"Fighting"
