(Wednesday, 1st of Dream King Moon, 2021)
"TJ DID SUPER WELL IN THAT LAST ROUND, SO LET'S BE SURE TO LET HIM LEAVE WITH A CRAZY LOUD APPLAUSE!" Maui shouted loudly, and the audience clapped as the recovery team rushed into the arena to get TJ's unconscious body out of the arena.
Like Zane, the medics swiftly rushed to TJ and laid him on a stretcher, with both medics grabbing one side of the stretcher and swiftly carrying the body to the exit of the arena while Angelo came into the waiting area through the North entrance of the arena. Even in the darkness, Jack could tell that Angelo wasn't actually injured, and all the injuries he got were faked for dramatic effect. Once both of them were out of the arena, the Rocky Mountains sank into the abyss to leave only the gray disk that was the middle of the arena. The next environment rose up from the dark abyss. This new environment was relatively simple, just a set of grassy hills. In Jack's eyes, the simplicity of the new arena was ideal for a warrior class.
"AAAAALLLLRIIIGHT!" Maui's voice boomed through the speakers. "TODAY WE HAVE AN INTERESTING MATCHUP BETWEEN THE MISTRESS OF ALL THINGS SCIENCE AND THE SAND PHARAOH. LET'S WELCOME OUR FIRST COMBATANT WITH A LOUD APPLAUSE!"
The first combatant to enter had her silver hair tied back in a messy bun, and her glasses sat calmly on her face. Her hands were stuffed in her pockets, and she had a lollipop in her mouth while she calmly walked across the grass. A robotic figure walked closely behind her, and weirdly enough, her robot looked completely different compared to when Jack last saw it. Now her robot was wearing a gray trench coat that covered almost the robot's entire body, leaving the hands, legs, and some parts of the head exposed. On the robot's head was a fedora. Jack couldn't see much else of the robot, even after the girl reached the center of the arena. This girl was also armed with a handgun and a rifle.
"DESPITE BEING A SUPPORT CLASS, SHE'S GOT NO ISSUES THROWING HANDS, AND SHE'S GOT THE TOOLS TO DO IT!" Maui introduced the next combatant. "IT'S EVE SCIENTIA, SCIENTIST OF SANCTUARY! NOW FOR THE NEXT COMBATANT, WE HAVE..."
From the West entrance a large figure emerged. This large figure was an orc, who was wearing chainmail armor paired with silver armor. Draped over his back a crimson colored cape. In his clutches was a warhammer with a small grip, and the hammer appeared to emit electricity. The armor clad orc raised his hammer into the sky as he walked to the gray slab in the middle of the arena. Gray clouds formed in the ksy
"THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!" Thor raised his hammer into the air, and lightning shot down from the heavens and struck the hammer.
"Eh? Thor, it's not your match yet?" Maui spoke calmly through the microphone, not sure of what to do here. "Where's Damini?"
"I didn't want to fight my girlfriend, so we redid a draw." Eve answered Maui for Thor, who was emitting electricity.
"Is that allowed, Herakles?" Maui asked the Headmaster, who took some time thinking about it.
"I don't want lovers to fight one another." Herakles calmly responded. "I'll allow the switching of matchups this time."
"ALRIGHT, WE GOT THE HEADMASTER'S APPROVAL!" Maui shouted excitedly. "THE NEXT MATCH IS BETWEEN TWO MASTERS OF WIELDING ELECTRICITY! RAW POWER VS PRECISE CONTROL, THOR VS EVE! FIGHT!"
The fight began with Thor throwing his hammer at Eve, who suddenly pulled out a blaster from her holster and aimed it at the hammer, and Eve shot the hammer midair with a silver beam of light. The hammer didn't stop, but suddenly Eve caught the hammer using only her hand, without so much as an injury. Eve then tossed the hammer up and shot at Thor using her gun. Throw jumped into the air to not only dodge the blasts of silver energy, but also to grab his trusty hammer. Thor looked at his hammer for a couple minutes before landing atop one of the grassy hills. Thor smashed his hammer against the top of the hill, and much to his displeasure, the hill was barely scratched.
"Thor's hammer stop working!!" Thor shouted while Eve put the blaster back in his lab coat and took out a sci-fi looking rifle.
"Sorry Thor, but I had to temporarily nullify Mjolnir's momentum." Eve aimed her rifle at Thor. "I'll try to make this quick for you."
"THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!" Thor raised his hammer up into the sky once again, and lightning struck the hammer. Thor used this hammer to strike the hill, and the strike created a pillar of pure lightning around the orc.
During the lightning pillar, Jack couldn't see what happened until the lightning dispersed. He saw that Thor's strike turned the grassy hill into a dirt crater. Eve was shocked by this, but she was easily able to deduce that the lightning not only charges Mjolnir, but also repairs it from any kind of defect. Eve's robot suddenly picked up the girl in a and jumped back to avoid Thor jumping into the air and slamming against the gray slate. While the gray slate in the middle of the arena was undamaged, it released an overwhelming amount of electricity. Eve's robot landed on a grassy hill that was behind Eve, and then the robot set down Eve before assuming a fighting stance. Thor aimed his hammer at the duo before a stream of lightning shot out towards the scientist, but strangely, the forearms of the robot grew prongs and began to emit energy like a shield. The robot absorbed the energy through these prongs before the prongs went back into the robot's arms. Thor raised his hammer in a charge towards the robot before sending it crashing down atop the robot, but before it could strike, Eve did something. Eve pulled a glass vial of a glowing green liquid from her pocket and threw it. The glass shattered upon landing, and green foam began to form around Thor's legs, reaching up all the way to his knees. Thor tried moving forward, but the foam solidified and held his feet in place.
"Thor's stuck!" Thor shouted while Eve picked up three pebbles fron the ground and launched them at Thor at once.
Thor spun his hammer by the leather strap in front of him while coating his hammer in electricity. Eve's pebbles were knocked to the side by Thor's electric field, but they didn't help much after Eve threw a vial full of a blue substance at the hammer, causing it to shatter and release a blue flame that blew up right in Thor's face. Thor was knocked back whilst clutching his face with his free hand before Eve aimed a sci-fi looking rifle at Thor. From the rifle, a condensed ball of blue plasma shot out and hit Thor in the chest, knocking him off his feet. Thor was dazed a bit, but he still smiled.
"THOR IS FREE!" Thor shouted before launching himself up into the air and spun his hammer above his head.
Thor then aimed his hammer at Eve and the robot, allowing lightning to shoot out of the hammer and towards Eve. The robot tried blocking the lightning, but it was knocked back by Thor aiming his hammer at the ground like a hose. The ground exploded upon coming into contact with the lightning, knocking the robot down. Thor then aimed his hammer at Eve, who was defenseless without her robot. Thor shot lightning at the scientist, and Eve raised her arms in a defensive position. The lightning struck Eve with a thunderous 'crash', and dust was kicked into the air, preventing you all from seeing anything. When the dust dispersed, it revealed Eve's arms were dangling at her side, still in one piece, but injured. The backs of her arms were burnt, and one of her arms was bent at an unnatural angle. Eve was breathing heavily, yet she still looked calm.
"Thank goodness I numbed my pain receptors before the match even began, otherwise I'd be a crying mess right now." Eve joked as Thor slowly hovered back onto the ground. "I think I understand your powers now, you can lightning and wind like Caroline, but you sacrificed proficiency in favor of brute strength."
"Thor doesn't know what proficiency is, but Thor is happy Eve survived that attack!" Thor began spinning his hammer, preparing to throw it at Eve. "Thor was worried Thor hurt Eve too much. Sorry Eve, but Thor needs to end this fight."
"Don't worry my friend, Thor, this fight will end." Eve used her non-broken hand to pull something out of her chest pocket, and the camera zoomed in to reveal it was a syringe. "Let's try out this new steroid of mine."
Eve injected the needle into her broken arm, and injected the glowing yellow substance into her arm. While her arm did repair itself, it also began to grow in size. The arm bulged like it was a massive tumor before enlarging to form a massive, beefy arm that was almost pure muscle. Eve reeled the fist back and delivered a punch to Thor's stomach. Thor was caught off guard so much that he couldn't raise Mjolnir properly to block the hit. The punch sent Thor skidding across the arena, with Thor's feet firmly planted in the ground, he made two lines in the dirt as he was sent across the arena. After the punch, Eve's arm slowly emitted steam before going back to normal completely.
"Damn, looks like it only works for five seconds." Eve then ducked under a bolt of lightning that was aimed towards her by Thor. "WOAH!"
"THOOOOOOOOR!" Thor's veins were now visible as they were glowing a cyan blue color. His eyes were glowing cyan as well as emitting lightning.
"Looks like you entered berserker mode." Eve sighed whilst taking a step back. "Hal, enter 100% energy efficiency mode, also, enable perpetual motion mode."
Eve's robot, apparently named Hal now, suddenly leapt onto its feet, and it's trench coat opened up to reveal its torso. The middle of it's torso was a kind of hole that was lined with crystal except for the middle of the hole. The middle of the hole had a kind of orb. Hal rushed towards Thor, and Thor rushed towards Hal in a blind frenzy. Thor swung his hammer downwards atop of Hall, causing a pillar of lightning to engulf the two entities. The lightning slowly dispersed, but not in the normal way, all of the lightning appeared to be absorbed by something. Bit by bit, the lightning was absorbed to reveal that it was being sucked into Hal's chest as he had his arms raised to block the hammer swing. Thor tried crushing the robot under the hammer, but the robot wasn't moving.
"I see what's going on here, Perpetual Motion allows the robot to convert all energy it comes across into power for itself." Nikola pointed out from his spot in the stands. "It's a powerful technique, but it can only be used for a minute, or else the battery will implode."
"Why do you know that?" Maui asked the inventor, who watched the scene intently.
"Because I'm the guy who trained her." Nikola reminded the tall man, who forgot all about that. "Even if I didn't train her, I use that kind of device sometimes too, but my batteries are better."
Hal delivered a powerful punch to Thor's chin, and boosters emerged from Hal's wrist to enhance the punch with rockets. The powerful uppercut was enough to send Thor into the air, but Eve didn't stop there. Eve aimed her rifle at Thor, and fired a barrage of plasma orbs at the orc's chest, causing burn marks to appear on the orc's chest. Hal then jumped into the air, and his fists began to glow a silver color. Jack saw that Eve just dropped her gun and used her one good arm to cast her fundamental force ability. Hal was now above Thor, and balled both his hands together before crashing them down atop of Thor, sending him straight into the ground. The dust covered the arena as Hal landed, and when the dust cleared, it revealed that Thor was now unconscious.
"LOOKS LIKE BRUTE FORCE COULDN'T WIN AGAINST INTELLECT, NOW GIVE IT UP FOR EVE SCIENTIA!" Maui shouted in the mic, and the arena erupted into a round of applause.
Just like the last round, some medics emerged from the South entrance wut ha stretcher to carry Thor to the infirmary. One problem, just two people wasn't enough to carry the massive orc, so Maui himself had to jump into the arena and help carry the orc to the infirmary. Meanwhile, Eve followed the medics to help treat her broken arm.
"WOOO, YOU DID GOOD GURL!" Damini shouted in excitement for her girlfriend while the next two fighters got ready for the next match. "I knew my girlfriend would kick Thor's ass!"
"That's not what you were saying while you began to worry for her safety." Matt chuckled to himself, and Damini scowled at the martial artist. "Hey, don't shoot the messenger."
"Man, I can't believe we redrew our opponents and I needed to face off against the one dude I didn't wanna fight." Jack sighed while looking at the slip of paper with your opponent's name. "Alice, if I die, hold a funeral for me."
"I'm sure you'll do fine, besides I'm saving my pity for Luna." Alice was referring to Luna, who looked dead inside. "She drew me now, and I'm kind of worried about hurting her."
"Ha...I'm totally gonna die." Luna sighed loudly, and Bruce pat her back.
"You two do realize there's a necromancer right behind you, right?" Hel was sitting on the chair behind Luna's, playing a game. "Like, I can just revive you if you die, assuming I revive you before you decompose. And your body is still in one piece."
"Besides, you don't need to worry about a thing, you took the potion the Librarian gave you, right?" Alice looked at you. "So you have the combined strength of you at your peak and all the abilities you gained since coming to Sanctuary."
"I hope that's enough, since my opponent is pretty dang scary." Jack looked at his future opponent, who was sitting across from him, not listening. "Still, I wonder who I should cheer for in the next match, it feels pretty one sided, but we're pretty close to both sides."
"Let's just not cheer for either, they can't hear us from the arena anyways." Alice suggested as the screen turned on once again to reveal the next set of combatants. "So in all honesty, who do you think is gonna win? No bias."
"My guess is them." Jack pointed at the people coming in from the East entrance. "Intellect beats raw power, like we saw in the last match."
"What? Bull shit!" Alice pointed at the person coming in from the West entrance. "At some point, brute force will kick smartness' ass!"
"Well I guess we'll have to wait and see who wins."
