CHAPTER 53
AUTHOR'S POV
"Shei! Being a club head you can't even arrange a room for practice but you talk like your gone take over Indian stock market tomorrow " riya yelled as she and sameer placed the piano in the ground
Dev pulled out his tongue and mimicking her.
"Exactly! Where is the room for practice dev" sameer asked with his hands on his hips imitating riya who now stood with her hands on her hip.
"You two stupid roommates arghhh" riya yelled annoyed as she sat in the bench in front of the piano.
Sameer chuckled watching her !
"Acha baby boss adjust for this hour pakka i will arrange a room in the next hour" dev said
Since that day when dev said that she is a baby boss! He had been calling her baby boss.
Sometimes enjoyed the redness crept her cheeks and sometimes watched her roll her eyes.
Sameer started getting along with dev and riya! Their music club went by with dev and sameer roasting riya or riya trying to handle two man kids or sameer being silent.
"You sure you can carry the guitar riya!?" Sameer asked sincerely
"No she will trip over the guitar, fall down and break her button nose" dev said and riya threw the pen in her hand at him and he dogged it .
Laughing at her,he went into the college to grab his guitar where as riya stared at the piano, her biggest desire in middle school was is to learn to play the piano because sameer was that smart kid who played the piano like it was a piece of cake and she here and there learned to play the piano not professionally or perfectly but at-lest to a extent- to an extend where she thought she would impress sameer with her this nee talent.
How naïve was she? She kept on breaking castles on air where he was not even hers to start with. She never blamed sameer for not responding to her feelings- he was a man who had his girl and she did not expect him to return back those feelings to her but what happened to the start of their bond called friendship? She was there for him in his fucking lowest, when he felt the sky was crumbling down on his head she stood holding it.
Riya gently ran her fingers to the keys of piano and smiled at the coldness of the object touched her finger tips. Looking at her looking at the piano with glowing eyes- sameer turned on few keys and switched in the piano for her
"She looks beautiful" riya sang as her eyes closed and fingers played in the keys on the piano
"She looks kind"
"She probably gives you butterflies " she sang her eyes closed her brain recalling where she stood listening to him about how she treated him.
"I hope your happy!"
"But not like your with me"
A small group of people started gathering around the ground to watch riya perform, dev who came back with his guitar watched how the people enjoyed hearing riya play.
His heart swelled up with pride of joy!
All the while sameer stood there listening to her sing as if she was pouring her unsaid words and pain in the form of songs and it did not take him a minute for him to understand that the reason for her pain was none other than him.
Realising no matter how many sorry he said! It was not gone heal her! Definitely not that 6th grade riya who had no clue what she did that her crush ran away from her in the worst way possible .
Sameer noticed dev walking towards him , a fee seconds later dev started his guitar and riya stood up from her place and sameer took over the piano and riya stood in the middle as a vocalist.
She finally saw the groups of students who had turned up to watch them perform , a sudden wave of nervousness hit her ,she held the mic as tightly she can and looked at the crowd.
Dev noticed this and watched towards her held her hand to his chest leaving and made her spin
"Rock it baby boss! You can do it" he whispered near her ears, his cologne filled her nostril .
Her rain in the middle of the summer!
She smiled at him as she started smiling.
A few minutes passed now that the music gang was comfortable dev played the guitar looking at riya sing in the middle of the stage pointing her hands towards the crowd and sameer sat playing the piano smiling and enjoying.
Dev also noticed Aishwarya come running through the crowd ,he sat on his toes and Aishwarya yelled near his ears
"I THINK ADITI AND ARAVIND ARE FIGHTING! I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING PLEASE COME WITH ME!VIKRAM IS TENSED" She yelled and dev looked shocked knowing what the hell was going on
"Where are they?" He asked
"In Arjun's house ! "
Dev walked towards riya now that everyone stopped there music , the crowd was getting away and sameer came near riya and dev
" aditi and Aravind are fighting we need to reach Arjun's house"dev said and riya nodded
"I will call Kiki and come! You get going "she said as she started running towards the classrooms not notching that sameer walked behind her
Getting hold of her wrist ,sameer pulled her towards him and gently pushed her towards corridor wall.
"Sameer what the hell are you doing??? I need to get there people are waiting " riya said struggling,trying to remove his hand from her wrist
Seeing her struggle he let go of her hands but still she was pinned behind the wall by him.
Riya nervously played with her wanting to walk away ,she had this habit of playing with her finger and losing tons of rings in the process.
"You did not change a bit riya!"sameer said smiling as she watched her play with her ring.
"Sameer! Stop being a idiot and move away my friends need me there" she said
" i do not give a fuck about them riya! Its you this is about you and me here" sameer said
"No! It was not about me sameer it was never about me and you..you won't get it" riya said the last part whispering
"Then who riya?!" He asked his eye's looking at her intensely that riya wanted to look away from that burning glare
"Let go sameer"
"Oviya? " he asked and riya looked away as tears triggered to fall out from her eyes
"We never dated after i left school riya!" He confessed
Now this piece of information made riya look at him
"We were on and off in school itself and you think we would have worked out when i was miles away from her?" He asked , riya's eyes scanned him for any evidence that he was lying but unfortunately or fortunately her eyes fell on the sliver chain he always wore, the chain which always to hide under his shirt now displayed out from his shirt.
Her long lost ring as a dollar on the chain! Tears rushed down her cheeks as she held his shirts in a fist
"What are you doing sameer?why are you doing this?" She yelled all frustrated and confused.
Sameer left a small sad smile and left her and walked slowly away.
How would he answer her when he himself did not know the answer? How will he?
