Episodes like depression or wanting to be alone were common for Dazai. Most of the times he pushes through them or they come on days he have off. Sometimes, he even had bad ones randomly happen and the agency actually noticed he was off but he played it off which they left alone after. Sometimes, when it gets to the point where he can't control himself, becomes a doll, he ends up at Chuuya's place.
His ex partner never turns him away though, it's something Dazai adored. His own personal caretaker if he goes by proper terms but neither of them consider it that. They trust each other, always have been, why won't they take care of each other when needed? Dazai does it for corruption so Chuuya can take time for his mindset. They both care and worry and can't decide for the other to not do those things.
Last night was no difference, Chuuya found the man crouched outside his place. He was against the wall in a ball, bloody and loose bandages, gripping the item used. The coat was not in sight, obvious to not destroy the value of it so no wonder he was shaking. Chuuya just opened the door after closing his umbrella, helping the man inside slowly. He had to talk with him a bit to not pass boundaries and to see what scale he was on. The ginger took care from bathing him to cleaning to dressing and feeding. They went to sleep cuddling after chuuya finished some papers; dazai waited, watching from afar...
Dazai woke up the same but a bit better. Chuuya could tell just by the mouth not moving like last night. He got hums and such though, the prodigy only gave head shakes or blank stares before so it made him smile. The problem was he needed to go to work, they both needed to. Dazai being him, wanted to go but the ginger couldn't. He couldn't let him go unsupervised, especially not to the agency who knows nothing about how to watch or take care of his idiot partner like this-
"Here put this on, i got it, this morning" Chuuya handed him his trench coat "You will freeze Samu. Or do you want one of mine that I have for you?"
"..Mm"
"Good" He watched the man put it on slowly "Here let me help, your nerves are still"
Dazai let out a small giggle at the smaller one. Chuuya shot him a dirty but amused look knowing what he meant. I mean, hes not wrong. The man basically acting like his house wife or something. The ginger didn't care if he was or not, they kept each other sane is why. They cared and yearned for each other as much as they don't talk or show it much still. Chuuya went grabbing the bow tie, fixing it seeing the jewel falling
Dazai only stared at the relaxed expression, too dull. Chuuya always filled with emotions, either it being anger or his cocky smirk, it was unsettling. The prodigy didn't mind it, especially in moments like these, it showed he was important. It showed hes able to not keep a mask up and be free. The eyes shot up making his mind blink that he was carressing the ginger loose locks-
"What's up? You are smiling at me"
"...N'thin"
"Yeah?" Chuuya let out a hum "Cause It looks like you want to kiss me"
Dazai rolled his eyes before giving the ginger a loving press. The gloved hands rested on the others chest through it as their eyes fluttered shut. They needed these simple affection, they were too physical when not like this. It was sorta unhealthy for both since they do the exact opposite of these sweet actions.
Once parted, the two rubbed their lips in from the lip gloss. Chuuya patted dazais chest getting a nod. Dazai went heading to the door as chuuya went to put his hair in his signature style. A bark went out the quiet house, closer to Dazai. He crouched down rubbing the dogs head who was blocked in a corner by a circluar gate with no roof. The boy was only in their cause of Dazais state. The loaf butt nub wagged at the affection before he was let out. It shook panting from being happy before jumping up on his leg-
'stupid chubbiko'
The collar lettered 'SAM' jingled as the man picked the coorgi up into his arms. It licked his face, nub still wagging under the arms. Dazai gave a grunt of annoyance, still not a dog person, but let it be. He then jumped when a sound clicked and the dog stopped looking over titling his head. Chuuya snickered a bit, using a hankerchief to wipe the saliva; the dog only went back panting happily at its parents-
"Don't worry, nobody will see it" Dazai huffed to the speaking ginger "Can't help it. It was an adorable sight.... Wanna take him?"
"...."
"The agency won't mind it. Kenji will even take him on walks for you" He went getting the doggy bag read "He is a support animal"
"You"
"Har har" Chuuya just smiled as the dog was put down "But I suppose... Sam what you want to wear?"
The dog barked, motioning with his nose at the blue scarf with white paw prints before going and putting little cleared cupped shoes for his paws. Dazai shook his head at the sight before getting the dog bag, it made a jingle from the bell attatched, since Chuuya was tying the scarf. The dog jumped around them before going to the door excitedly, his little stubby taps against the floor could be heard. This made the two laugh at the actions before following him to the door. Chuuya picked up his hat off the counter with keys and they left, dog, Dazai and finally Chuuya who locked up. From then, headed to the agency by foot, not caring about the distance since the early walk is something needed-
"Give me paw, let me take them off"
Chuuya helped the dog take the shoes off as dazai opened the pocket for them. He took them from the ginger putting them away as it panted happily. He will relax in a bit since they are in side and he had water outside. The fluffy butt went heading up the stairs with the two following behind after. The bell and chain jingled with each step like a calming vibration for Dazai. Chuuya just happily stared at the peaceful expression the younger one had. He needed it for now, his nerves will sky rocket when they enter, no reach the door. The ginger has to think about this carefully when entering, he doesn't want to toss Dazai off and hopes the agency doesn't either or he will explode on them-
"Be a good boy Sam"
The dog barked at Dazai in agreement, chuuya had to hold himself from giggling in awe. His two boys were too cute, too adorable. He opened it taking a breather letting dazai and the coorgi in before closing it behind. The brunette went straight to his desk with the dog following, setting the bag beside it. Chuuya took a breath seeing he ignored everyone but left it walking to Yosano who was with Ranpo. Kunikida wasn't to be seen so no yelling which was a good thing-
"Yosano, you have a guest"
"Eh?" She turned at Ranpos gesture "Nakahara?"
"Just chuuya" He glances at dazai who was cuddling the dog in his chair as he got kisses "Can you do me a favor?"
"What" She blinked at the prodigy before glancing back "Doesn't he dislike dogs?"
"Sam is my support animal so hes doing his job" The two stiffen a bit "Can you watch him? I.. I won't get int detailed but.."
"I got you" She took a breath "I understand what you are asking.. Is there anything I should be on the look out for? Or we?"
"Hes not talkative right now so don't force it. Yes or no would be sufficinate or give him paper to respond. If he disappears for to long like if he says goes to the bathroom, go after him to check. If hes gonna go on a walk with our coorgi, send someone with him if he takes the whole bag with him. Hes quite sensitive to things so try not to have yelling nor touching.. If he touches you, try not touch him back cause its most likely just to get your attention"
"...Does it last long?"
"Usually a day or so Yosano... This one isn't as worse but I don't want it falling to a real suicidal watch" chuuya gave Dazai a small smile seeing he looked at him, "Hes an idiot as usual"
"Fancy hat, he should just take the day off"
"You don't think I want that? But he cannot be alone and I have to go to the port. I will pick him up later, he didn't sleep much for some nights so if he passes out in the chair don't be surprised"
"He didn't last night?"
"Not much, he didn't sleep at all for the past couple days... Hes used to it but his body will give in, especially with the fluff butt hes holding. I wouldn't advise moving him, maybe putting a pillow if you can but he will wake at human touch"
"...."
"I didn't give him coffee for that reason.. He has eaten so nothing to worry there" Chuuya then remembered "Ah, pay attention to his arms, I patched him yesterday"
"I got you, I'll put my reinforced gloves when doing so. Should have a similar feelings to yours"
"That should be fine then. I'll be going but first, gotta say bye and tell him Ill pick him up"
Chuuya let the two who nodded, quietly discussing of the prodigy. Dazai blinked at he ginger as the dog barked at him. The executive rubbed the fluffy maine before looking at his partner. He whispered his words, softly caressing the right cheek pushing some hair back. Dazai whimpered in agreement, leaning into it. Chuuya chuckled nodding before giving him a kiss on the head-
"The day be over before you know it" He whispered with their heads together "I love you, be careful and don't do anything rash"
"Too"
The ginger nodded leaving him be, heading out. Dazai watched him while rubbing the dogs head. The door opened to the Tiger and Kyouka who blinked at the ginger. He gestured to them, leaving out the office, leaving them even more confused on why he was here-
"Okay" Tanakazi blinked "why did he come.. and That scene he just did with Dazai-"
"Not our buisiness" Ranpo spoke up "Their ex-partners, let them be"
"You want me to ignore the fact he kissed dazais head?"
"Yes" Everyone spoke as Dazai just stared at them "Yes we do"
"Atsushi?? Kyouka??"
"Its not weird to have people care. Secondly, they always cared for each other when needed so I say leave it be and let him be"
"Sam has grown" Kyouka giggles "I seen him twice at the port! hes a good dog"
Dazai chocked out "Chuuya"
"And he still has to insult the man" Atsushi laughed nervously "Nakahara-san is always kind to people, opposite of what the port is suppose to be"
"Sam is his service dog" Kyouka added "Not ununsual for animals to act like their owners"
"You say that as Dazai is getting licked by the dog" Naiomi laughed "How sweet"
The president door opened to Dazais partners with papers, "Morning everyon... Do I want to know?"
"Don't worry about the service dog Kunikida! Doctors orders!"
"Only if you say so Yosano-sensei, I will be careful"
'I wonder why he doesn't just talk? we aren't that stupid to know hes not okay'
