i almost drowned once.
i was in a wave pool, floating along with the waves in bliss, harmony. i took a misstep and the waves came for me like i insulted all that made them pure and decided they would take me with them. moments of air caught in between the water doing its best to sweep me away. i found myself fighting for it. those small moments. not a thought in my mind, for once in nineteen years, it was silent. it seems i'm in that wave pool again, waiting for the moments of air, to take the relief as it comes, though, quick it's what stops the water from taking me away.
