AN: So, even though I already have my Mollibby AU story on a bunch of other writing websites, I just thought I'd include it on this website as well since I am new to Wattpad. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I hope you enjoy the story!

Chapter 1

Meeting a New Friend

The sun slowly rose over the household of the McGees. Right in the attic slept a 6 year old girl named, Molly McGee. Molly slept peacefully in her bed, unaware that a mysterious entity was in the attic as well. The creature slowly floated towards Molly before it was right in front of her.

Sensing the entity's presence, Molly let out a yawn before waking up. She opened her eyes to see a ghost staring at her with the most spine chilling expression ever. Instead of being scared, Molly simply stared at the ghost with an innocent smile.

"Hi, Scratch!" Molly cheerfully greeted.

Seeing that Molly wasn't scared in the slightest, the ghost named Scratch immediately dropped his scary expression. "Really, Molly? You weren't the least bit scared? How I am supposed to scare anyone in Brighton if I can't even scare a 6 year old?"

"Oh, Scratch! You can never be scary to me!" Molly said as she embraced Scratch in a tight hug.

"Alright, that's enough!" Scratch pulled away from the hug. "So, how are you feeling about your first day of school?"

"It is so exciting!" Molly exclaimed. "I am going to make so many new friends! This is going to be the best day ever!"

Excited for her first day of school, Molly jumped out of bed before she joined her family for breakfast. Everyone sat at the table together, eating breakfast, but it was hard for them to ignore that Scratch was eating the leftovers.

Even after all these years, it was hard for the McGees to get used to the fact that they were living with a ghost. When they first arrived in Brighton, Pete and Sharon hoped that they would be living in a peaceful house, so they were both surprised to learn that a ghost was already living there. When he first met the McGees, Scratch ended up cursing Molly in an attempt to scare the family away, but the curse backfired on him, and now he and Molly were cursed to be together forever.

It wasn't all bad for Scratch though. Ever since the McGees moved to Brighton, he always had something to eat and he has even grown close to Molly and her family. Scratch was never going to admit it, but after all the years that went by, he considered the McGees to be family.

It wasn't long before everyone finished their breakfast, and Molly was now more excited than ever for school. Once he was ready, Pete stood up from his seat as he got ready to drive Molly to school.

"Are you sure you are going to be fine watching Darryl on your own while I drop off Molly, Sharon?" Pete asked his wife.

"Yes, Pete! Darryl can be a handful at times, but there's nothing I can't handle!" Sharon assured.

"Oh, keep telling yourself that! It wouldn't surprise me if Darryl ends up becoming a trouble maker at some point in the future!" Scratch commented.

"I'm sure that won't happen, Scratch! Anyway, let's go, Molly! I'll take you to school!" said Pete.

"Yay!" Molly cheered as she followed her dad to the car.

After Pete strapped Molly in her carseat, he started the car. Before he even left the driveway, Molly spoke up at the last moment.

"Waaaiiiit!"

"What is it, Molly? Did you forget something?" Pete asked.

Molly shook her head. "No. Do you think Scratch would want to come to school with me?"

"I don't think Scratch would want to leave the house. Maybe we should just let him rest and-"

Pete was soon interrupted when Molly yelled. "I want Scratch to come with me! Scratch! Scratch! Scratch! Scratch! Scratch!"

Meanwhile, Scratch was laying on a spiderweb hammock, wanting nothing more than to sleep the day away. His plans were soon changed when he got surrounded by a pink aura. Upon realizing what was going on, Scratch woke up with a jolt.

"What? No! No! No! I hate this currrrrse!" Scratch yelled as he was forcefully dragged towards Molly.

Once he realized that there was no getting out of this, Scratch had no choice but to go with Molly to school. After driving to the school, Pete dropped off his daughter as Molly entered the classroom.

At that moment, Molly sat down at a desk and looked around the classroom to see so many friendly faces. With her first day of school starting, Molly was excited to make so many wonderful friends.

As happy as everyone was to begin their first day of school, Molly couldn't help but notice a young Jewish girl sitting alone at a table. She wore a green sweater and light brown jeans, and had long dark brown hair. She appeared to be lonely. Even though Molly didn't know anything about that girl, she decided to make her feel better.

"Hey!" Molly got the girl's attention.

The girl soon looked up to see Molly giving her a friendly wave. At first, the girl looked around, confused, assuming that Molly was talking to someone else. As Molly continued to wave, the girl gave a shy smile before she waved back.

"That girl seems pretty friendly, Scratch!" Molly whispered to her ghost friend.

"Yeah, I really don't care." Scratch said, not even paying attention. "I just want to get this day over with so I can get back to sleep!"

As the school day continued, the students got to know each other better. It was an easy school day for everyone as they were all drawing pictures. Molly decided to draw a picture of a rainbow. She admired her drawing with a smile before she heard an angry voice.

"Hey, watch it!"

Molly looked up to see that the voice came from a blue-haired girl in a pink hoodie. It appeared that the girl was yelling at the Jewish girl Molly waved to earlier.

"You nearly got bumped into me, you klutz!" The blue-haired girl yelled.

"I'm so sorry, Ann-dree-uh! I didn't mean to!" The other girl apologized. "I just wanted to get some more crayons, but I tripped and-"

Before the girl could finish, the girl named, Andrea interrupted. "My name is Ahn-dree-uh!"

"I-Isn't that what I just said?" The shy girl asked, now feeling more frightened than ever.

"No! You said, Ann-dree-uh!"

"I'm sorry! I'll get your name right next time, Ann, uh-"

The shy girl paused before she accidentally mispronounced Andrea's name once more. Every attempt the girl made to pronounce the name correctly only made Andrea even more infuriated.

"It is pronounced, Ahn-dree-uh! Get it right!" Andrea yelled before she pushed the girl to the floor.

That was when the girl started to cry, causing Molly to get angry. That poor girl was getting bullied over a name pronunciation and no one was even helping her!

"Wow! That was so needlessly cruel! I think I'm going to like it here, Moll!" Scratch commented before noticing that Molly was no longer in her seat. "Moll?"

He looked around to see that Molly was stomping her way over to Andrea. Knowing Molly, Scratch had a feeling that she was not going to let this bullying continue any further.

"Hey! Leave her alone, Andrea!" Molly stood in front of Andrea, causing her to back up in fear. "Don't be mean to her just because she doesn't know how your name is pronounced!"

After getting over her shock, Andrea glared back at Molly. "I don't know who you are, but you'd better stay out of this!"

Molly shook her head. "No! She did nothing wrong and doesn't deserve to be bullied by you!"

"Just make sure she doesn't mispronounce my name again!" Andrea said before returning to her desk.

Once Andrea left, Molly turned to face the girl, who was still on the floor.

"Are you okay? Molly asked as she offered the girl her hand.

"Y-Yes. Thank you!" The girl smiled, gratefully accepting Molly's hand. "Hey, I remember you! You are the girl who waved to me earlier, right?"

Molly nodded. "That's right! I'm Molly!"

"It's nice to meet you. Molly! My name is Libby!" the girl introduced. "Um, do you think you would like to join me in drawing pictures?"

"Sure! I'll go get some crayons and we can get started!"

Throughout the rest of the school day, Molly and her new friend, Libby have been getting to know each other better. Molly was surprised to learn that Libby's mom owns a bookshop called, Book Marks the Spot. She could only imagine what kind of wonderful stories Libby gets to read at the bookshop.

As she was finishing up making a drawing of a smiley face, Molly took notice of Libby's drawing, which was a drawing of a turtle.

"Ooh! That turtle looks really cute, Libby!" Molly complimented.

"Thank you! Turtles are actually my favorite kind of animal!" Libby explained. "I just envy turtles! They can curl their soft, vulnerable bodies into their hard shells, where none of life's sharp edges can harm them!"

"Sheesh! That girl has a weird turtle obsession!" Scratch said, earning a glare from Molly.

"Hey, it's cute! She is just passionate about the things she loves!" Molly whispered.

Libby raised a confused eyebrow as she heard what Molly said. "Who are you talking to?"

"Uh, my imaginary friend!" Molly lied with a nervous smile.

Libby giggled. "You're funny, Molly!"

While Molly continued to draw, she couldn't help but notice that Libby was making something in secret. When Molly would ask Libby what she was working on, she would say that it was a secret.

A few hours had passed before the school day came to an end. Both, Molly and Libby stood next to each other outside the school as they waited for their parents to pick them up. This whole time, Libby appeared to be nervous about something, so she sighed before she spoke up.

"Molly? Can I ask you something?"

Molly then turned to Libby, curious with what she had to say. "Sure! You can ask me anything!"

"Um, I know that we just met, but do you want to be my best friend?" Libby asked, revealing that she was holding a couple of friendship bracelets.

"Whaaaaat?!" Molly's eyes widened in joy as she had the biggest grin on her face.

"If you don't want to be my friend, I understand. I know I'm not for everyone and-"

Libby was soon interrupted when Molly embraced her in a tight hug. "Bestie!"

Taking that as a yes, Libby smiled before hugging Molly back. Once the two new friends broke from the hug, Libby handed Molly the green colored bracelet while she kept the purple colored one.

"You can have the green bracelet while I have the purple one! That way we can always think about each other even when we are apart!" Libby explained.

"I love it! Thank you so much, Libby! I'm so happy to have you as my best friend!" Molly exclaimed before she noticed a couple of cars pulling up in front of them. That was when Molly and Libby noticed that their parents have arrived to pick them up. "I'll see you tomorrow, Libby!"

After waving goodbye to each other, Molly and Libby got into their cars, where they told their parents about their first day at school. Libby climbed into her carseat before she began to talk to her mom, Leah.

"How was your first day of school, Turtledove?" Leah asked, referring to her daughter by her nickname.

"It was really fun, Mom!" Libby answered with a smile.

"I'm glad to hear it!" Leah smiled. "Who was that girl you were talking to?"

With one last smile, Libby glanced at Molly as her parents drove away. "That's my best friend, Molly!"
