Jay: I didn't want to wake you
Beyoncé: hold on I'm coming down
At the door, Jay presents Beyoncé with a BOUQUET OF GARDENIAS.
Beyoncé: Oh Jay , they're gorgeous.
Jay: And it's not just because some
other guy beat me to it.
Beyoncé: There is no other guy. Another
teacher's flowers were delivered to me by mistake, that's all.
Jay: Guess I should take it as a good
sign you thought they were from me.
Beyoncé fills a vase with water. Jay hovers, gazing at her nightgown, her freshly scrubbed face.
Jay :Were you asleep?
Beyoncé: Just reading a little.
He moves close, runs his hand along her arm.
Jay:I miss seeing you like this.
They hold a long look, then fall into a passionate kiss. Jay's hands travel down Beyoncé's back to her buttocks. He pulls her against him. Their breathing becomes heavy.
Beyoncé opens her eyes for just a second and sees Y/N watching them through the window of the back door. Her face is tight, her eyes menacing. Beyoncé pushes Jay away.
Jay turns and spots y/n. And in that instant, Y/N's sullen expression changes to a sheepish grin.
Jay swings the door open.
Jay:Hey, Y/N.
Y/n: Hi, Mr. Carter. So sorry to
interrupt, but I think I left my cell phone here.
Beyoncé : It's a little late.
Y/n: I know, but I saw the light and my
dad's supposed to call from Qatar.
Before Beyoncé can protest, y/n heads into the adjoining family room.
Jay:Qatar? What's there?
Y/n: Some big hotel he's working on.
Y/n bends down in front of the couch, blocking Beyoncé's and Jay's view of her , and searches the cushions. She slips the phone out of her pocket and drops it underneath the couch.
Y/n: Here it is.
Y/n holds up the phone triumphantly and returns to the kitchen where she spots Jay's flowers.
Y/n: Nice flowers.
Jay: Gardenias. Beyoncé's favorite.
Jay wraps his arm around Beyoncé's waist and kisses her. She smiles, uncomfortable, and pulls away.
Y/n: Even nicer than the ones you got at
school today.
Beyoncé: I was just telling Jay
that those were delivered to me by mistake.
Y/n: Oh ... right.
Jay:You got a girlfriend or a boyfriend.. I don't want to assume anything, y/n?
Y/n: Not really. And you would be correct I am a lesbian so no offense taken.
Jay: A good-looking girl like you? You
probably have your pick of them.
Y/n: I've got my eye on someone at
school. But she doesn't seem interested.
Jay: Don't let that stop you. She's
probably just playing hard to get. Women love to make us guys suffer.
Beyoncé: Jay . It's late. I'm sure y/n
needs to get to sleep. Jay glances at his watch.
Jay : Oh, right. And I got a Big meeting in morning.
He gives Beyoncé a peck.
Jay : See you later.
(to y/n) Come on kiddo.
He puts his arm around y/N's shoulder and escorts her out. Y/n glances back at Beyoncé , her eyes dark. Beyoncé shuts the door behind them.
