Radhika reached home and found her nani waiting for her with curious expressions, but her mood was already pissed off so she chose to stay quite.
Nani: 'Toh beta...kaisi rahi meeting...kaisa laga tujhe ladka...?'
Radhika: '........' (She didn't respond)
Nani: 'Aree bol na aise chup chap kyun baithi hai...'
Radhika: 'Mein usse shaadi nahi karungi nani...'
Nani: 'Kyun beta... itna accha to hai Krish... meine photo dekhi hai uski...'
Radhika: 'Nani...photo main woh jaisa dikhta hai vaisa nahi hai...vo bilkul khadoos hai... mein apni poori life ek khadoos ke saath nahi nikal sakti...'
Nani: 'Tu uske baare mein itna kaise jaanti hai...?'
Radhika: 'Kyunki... voh mera colleague hai... hum dono saath mein ek hi team mein kaam karte hai...'
Nani: 'Aree waah...yeh to aur bhi accha ho gaya.. jab ladka jaan-pehchan ka hi hai to ab koi samasya hi nahi hai...'
Radhika: 'Samasya hai nani... mein usse shaadi nahi karne wali and its final...'
She got up in anger and left for her room and nani's face fell. She became sad and she too, went to her room.
Here, Krish also reached home and found his whole family gathered in the living room.
Krish: 'Kya hua...aap sab mera aise wait kyun kar rahe the... jaise mein koi jung (war) jeet ke aaya hoon...?'
Mom: 'Beta tere liye koi jung se kam thodi na tha yeh meeting...'
Maya: 'Toh bolo bhai... kaisi lagi aapko bhabi... hume to bohot pasand aai...'
Krish: 'Itni pasand hai to tu hi karle... mere peeche kyun pade ho...aur vaise yeh bhabi kya hai huh... abhi shaadi kahan hui hai...?'
Dad: 'Kya hua Krish... gussa kyu ho raha hai...?'
Dadi: 'Aur kya... accha chal yeh bata Radhika kaisi lagi tujhe... shaadi pakki samjhe?'
Krish: 'Bilkul nahi...Main usse bilkul shadi nahi karne vala...jab dekho bhadki rehti hai...har time mujhe attitude deti rehti hai...'
Dadi: 'Har time... matlab...tu aaj hi toh paheli baar mila usse haina...?'
Krish: 'Nahi dadi hum roz milte hain...voh meri colleague hai... hum dono ek hi team mein hai...'
Dadi: 'Aree vah isse accha aur kya ho sakta hai... tu meri baat maan Krish... Radhika bohot acchi ladki hai...meri saheli ne use pala hai...voh galat ho hi nahi sakti...aur rahi bat gussa karne ki toh, tum logon ka kam bhi to esa hi hai...'
Krish: 'No means no dadi... mein usse shaadi nahi karne vala aur yeh final hai...'
Mom: Krish ek baar bat toh sun...'
He didn't give any response and left from there. All became sad, specially his dadi.
The whole day, just passed like this, and Krish didn't step outside his room even once.
Here at night, Radhika was preparing dinner and found that nani didn't come out of her room. So, she hurriedly cooked and then went to nani's room.
She opened the door and found all lights of the room were switched off and only one small lamp was turned on. Nani was sitting facing the wall holding something in her hand.
Radhika went to her and sat beside her. She found that she was holding a photo frame of her parents and was just lost in deep thought, with her eyes closed. She was silently crying.
Radhika: 'Nani...kya hua.... Aap aise kyu baithe ho?' (She said hugging her)
Nani: 'Tujhe pata hai Radhika... mein kyun teri shaadi karvana chaahti hoon... taaki tu akeli na pad jaaye...meine tere mummy-papa se vaada kia tha ki mein humesha tere liye accha hi karungi...'
Radhika: 'Pahle aap rona band karo aur mujhe batao bhala mein kyun akeli padungi... aap ho na mere saath...'
Nani: 'Mein toh hoon...Par kab tak rahungi...ek na ek din mein bhi toh...' (Radhika cuts)
Radhika: 'Bilkul nahi... aisa kehne ki sochna bhi mat...Aapko pata hai main nahi sun sakti...mein aapko sirf khush dekhna chahti hoon nani...'
Nani: 'Mein bhi toh tujhe khush hi dekhna chahti hoon na.... isiliye to keh rahi hoon shaadi karne ke liye...mein tujhe guarantee de sakti hun beta...Krish meri saheli ka pota hai uske sanskar hai usme...voh kabhi bhi bura nahi kar sakta....maan jaa naa... mere liye...Tujhe lagta hai mein tere liye kuch galat chun sakti hun...nahi na...?'
Radhika: (She closed her eyes for a few seconds) 'Nani...Mein ready hoon.... aap unse baat kar lijiye... agar voh ready hain toh mujhe koi problem nahi hai...'
Nani's face lit up and she smiled warmly.
Radhika caressed her cheeks and kissed them.
Radhika: 'Chalo aajao ab dinner ready hai...'
At Krish's side,
After dinner, he was sleeping peacefully in his room and suddenly at around 1 a.m. at night he he heard a loud knock on his door.
He suddenly got up and opened the door just to find Maya crying...
Krish: 'Maya...kya hua... Ese ro kyu rahi hai...'
Maya: 'Bhai voh dadi...unke chest mein pain ho rha hai...'
Listening this he quickly ran to his dadi's room. He found dadi lying on the bed. She was crying in pain and his parents was also their who were worried.
Without wasting a second he took dadi to the nearby hospital.
Krish, his mom, dad and his sister, Maya were waiting outside the ward.
After, sometime doctor came out.
Dad: 'Doctor kaisi hai maa...?'
Doctor: 'Dekhiye ghabrane vaali... koi baat nahi hai...voh theek hai... bahut zyada sochne ki vajah se unhe minor heart attack aa gaya tha... Aap log kal unhe ghar leke bhi jaa sakte hai...
Krish felt guilty for dadi's condition.
Doctor: 'Aap mill sakte hain unse ab voh theek hai.'
Krish and his family, hurriedly entered the ward. He found her lying on the bed and she was smiling subtly.
He became emotional and hugged her.
Dadi: 'Oyee Krish ro kyu raha hai...?'
(She said caressing his head)
Krish: 'Aapko kuch ho jata toh...'
Dadi: 'Tu itna strong bana firta hai... itne mein hi rone laga...'
Krish: 'Strong hoon... mein sabke liye... aapke liye to aapka Krish hi hoon na...'
Dadi: 'Par mera Krish meri baat nahi maan raha na... mein sach keh rahi hoon Krish... tujhe Radhika se acchi ladki nahi milegi... usme meri saheli ke bhare huye sanskar hai... maan ja na beta...please...'
Krish: 'Aap yahan bhi...' (sighs deeply)
Dadi: 'Dekh...zindagi ka kya bharosa... kabhi yahan kabhi vahan...mein to bas yeh chahti hoon ki jaane se pehle tujhe settled dekh ke jaun...'
Krish: 'Dadi... Ye kaisi baatein kar rahe ho aap...!?'
Dadi: 'Toh aur kya karun.. tu maan hi nahi raha...'
Krish: (He closed his eyes for a few moments) 'Theek hai dadi...mein taiyaar hoon... Aap baat kar lena agar vo ready hai to main bhi taiyaar hoon...sirf aapke liye..'
Dadi, Mom, Dad, Maya: 'Sach..?
Krish: 'Haan haan... sach... ab chalo sab bahar....dadi ko rest karne do...'
Two days passed by.
Everyone was happy in the family and now all were getting ready to go to the Radhika's house, to fix the wedding officially.
Here Radhika was also getting ready half heartedly as she was doing all this only for her nani.
A while later, Krish and his family arrived and her nani welcomed them warmly.
Soon, they called Radhika to join them. She was wearing a simple kurta and holding a tray of tea, she entered the living room.
After serving tea to everyone she took blessings from Krish's dadi, mom and dad.
His mom made Radhika sit with her.
Mom: 'Beta...kaisi ho tum...?'
Radhika: 'Theek hoon aunty...'(she smiled)
Krish: (In mind) 'Itna polite...attitude dene ko sirf mein hi mila hoon kya...'
Dadi: 'Toh...chalo ab finally shaadi jab fix ho hi gayi hai to jaldi se jaldi in dono ki engagement bhi karva dete hain... Kyun...theek haina...?'
Nani: 'Haan Meena tum ekdum theek bol rahi ho... vaise bhi in dono ki 1 maheene ki chuttiyan bhi pad gayi hai...'
Mom: 'Maa ji mein toh keh rahi thi ki shaadi bhi isi maheene mein karva dete hain in dono ki... koi chutti bhi nahi leni padegi...'
Krish: (In mind) 'Satyanaash... mummy...kyun...Akhir kyun meri jaan itni jaldi lena chahte ho...'
Dad: 'Sahi baat hai...Kyun haina... Krish... Radhika... tum dono bhi bolo...bilkul chup chaap baithe ho...'
Maya: 'Ab yeh kya bolenge papa...inki to haan hi hai...'
Krish: (In mind) 'Beta tu toh ghar chal... tujhe to mein ghar pe bataunga...'
Dadi: 'Chalo fir abhi hi...pandit ji ko bula ke dates bhi fix kar dete hain...'
Nani: 'Haan abhi hi sab fix kar dete hai...Mein abhi phone karke bulati hoon pandit ji ko...
She soon called Pandit ji.
Meanwhile,
Krish: 'Agar aap sabko koi problem na ho to main Ms. Chauhan se kuch baat karna chahta hoon...'
Mom: 'Hume kyun problem hogi Krish jao baat karlo...'
He looked at Radhika. She got up without any problem and indicated him to come with her to the terrace.
At the terrace, both stood silently.
Almost like, 20 minutes passed, but none spoke.
Krish soon, broke the silence.
Krish: 'Ms. Chauhan I agreed only for dadi and my family...'
Radhika: 'Same here Mr. Mehra...I too agreed only because of nani...'
And again there was complete silence between them.
Radhika: 'I think hume chalna chaahiye...'
Both went down and found pandit ji sitting with their family and searching for shubh muhurat.
Nani: 'Pandit ji...aur kitna time lagege date dhundne mein...?'
Dadi: 'Aur kya...kab se wait kar rahe hain hum sab...'
Pandit ji: 'Maa ji bas dhoond hi liya... dekhiye...aaj se ek hafte baad sagai (Engagement) ka uttam muhurat hai..... aur uske 15 din baad shadi ka bohot hi badhiya muhurat hai...'
Dad: 'Haa pandit ji...yahi fix kar dijiye...'
Pandit ji: 'Theek hai... Jaisa aap kahen...
Pandit ji left.
Everyone were really very happy.
Both nani and dadi hugged each other and congratulated other family members.
They even fed sweets to Krish and Radhika.
Dadi: 'Chalo bhai... ab sab kaam pe lag jao... mere Krish ki shadi hai... koi kami nahi honi chahiye...'
Nani: 'Bilkul koi kami nahi rehni chahiye...Sabse best intazam hone chahiye....'
Seeing their dadi and nani happy, thyr both gave them a warm hug.
After sometime Krish and family left for their house.
After coming from Radhika's home, Krish went to his room and called Avinash.
On call,
Avinash: 'Hello bhai...kya haal hai...?'
Krish: 'Helloo....haan theek hi hai...'
Avinash: 'Itna low kyu sound kar raha hai?'
Krish: 'Bataunga na... tu please ghar aaja... Baith ke baat karenge...'
Avinash: 'Accha chal theek hai.... mein aata hoon thodi der mein...bye.'
Krish: 'Haan bye...'
Call cut.
After sometime Avinash came and found the whole family of Krish very happy. They fed him sweets too, but did not tell him anything.
Avinash: 'Arey aunty... yeh mithai kaunsi khushi mein khila rahe ho yeh to bata do...'
Mom: 'Beta mithai yahan kha lo... khushi jake Krish se pooch lo... upar tumhara hi wait kar raha hai room mein...'
Avinash: 'Ok aunty...mein jata hoon...'
He went to Krish's room and as the door was already open, he just entered and found Krish sitting on the bed with his legs folded. He was starring at the ceiling.
Avinash: 'Aur bhai kya chal raha hai...?'
Krish: 'Aa gaya tu...aaja baith...'
Avinash: 'Mein to aa gaya yeh to bata ki aunty itne khush kyun hai... unhone mujhe itni sweets bhi khilai...baat kya hai...?'
Krish: 'Meri shaadi hone wali hai...'(he faintly said)
Avinash: 'Kyaa....Kab....kisse....?'
Krish: 'Ek hafte baad engagement hai... aur uske 15 din baad shaadi... Ms Chauhan ke saath...'
Avinash: What...Radhika ke saath... tu toh mana kar raha tha na... fir maan kaise gaya...?'
Krish: 'Manna pada yaar...'
Avinash: 'Woh toh chal theek hai...Par itni jaldi kyun...'
Krish: 'Ab jab okhli mein sar de hi diya hai to musar se kya darna...sab bol rahe the ki hum dono ki hi chuttiyan hain toh sab aram se ho jaayega isiliye itni jaldi...'
Avinash: 'Ab mujhe samajh nahi aa raha ki mein tujhe congratulate karoon ya sympathy doon...'
Krish: 'Bhai tu sympathy hi de de congratulate to sab karenge...azaadi chinne vali hai tere bhai ki...'
Avinash: 'Chal koi nai...Ek na ek din toh vese bhi hona hi tha na...ab honi ko kaun tal sakta hai...'
Krish: 'Oye tu mujhe sympathy de raha hai ya dara raha hai..?'
Avinash: 'Chod na yaar...Ab jo azaadi chinne vali hai... use celebrate karte hai....aage ka kya bharosa...'
Listening this both burst out in laughter.
After that Krish's mom call both of them down for the lunch.
Days passed while doing preparation and shopping for the wedding.
From Krish's side all preparations were done by his mom, dadi and sister but at Radhika's side only Aarohi and her nani were there to help, as all other relatives lived out of city.
(Ab samajhlo ki engagement, haldi and mehendi ho gayi hai. We straight away, come to the wedding now. . .hope asliyat mein bhi unki shaadi ho jaaye . . .🥺)
Anyways...back to the story,
Finally, a day before the wedding, Radhika was sitting in her room and was observing her mehendi and name of Krish which was carved beautifully in her hands. She was lost in deep thoughts.
Aarohi: Hey Radha kya hua...?'
Radhika: 'Kitna ajeeb hai na yeh sab Aarohi... aaj mein Radhika Chauhan hoon...kal kisi ki wife ban jaungi aur uske sath mera naam bhi change ho jaayega...meri pehchan badal jaayegi...aur shadi dekho main ek aise insaan se kar rahi hoon jo khud bhi ready nahi hai... na main hi ready hoon... fir is sab ka kya fayda hai...mujhe nahi pata ki meri life mei aage kya hone wala hai...' (She sighs deeply)
Aarohi: 'I can understand your state of mind Radhika....kal ke baad bahut kuch change ho jaayega...lekin ye bhi to ho sakta hai na... ki ye change ek accha turn laaye tumhari life mein...'
Radhika: 'Mujhe apni kismat pe koi bharosa nahi hai Aarohi... ye acchi ho hi nahi sakti... meine apni life se kabhi kuch expect nahi kiya...aur mein karna chahti bhi nahi hoon...kyunki jab ummidein tootthi hai na to bahut dard hota hai...'
Aarohi: 'Is baar umeed laga ke dekho... ho sakta hai kismat karvat badal de...'
Radhika hugged her and felt relived.
She went to her nani who was sitting in the living room and arranging something.
Radhika: 'Nani...' (She back hugged her)
Nani: 'Radha... tu abhi tak soyi nahi...subah late ho jaayega beta...'
Radhika: 'Mujhe aapse baat karni thi... isiliye mein aa gayi aapke paas...'
Nani: 'Accha bol kya baat hai...' (She took her hand in hers)
Radhika:'Nani... aap mujhe promise karo ki aap mere jaane ke baad apna poora khayal rakhoge... khana dawai time pe loge... aur daily din main 2 bar mujhe call karoge...'
Nani: 'Tu aise kyu bol rahi hai...mein tujhe itni careless lagti hoon kya...?'
Radhika: 'Aur nahi to kya... aur mein nahi rahungi daatne ke liye... to kuch ulta seedha mat kha lena...aur bimar padna nahi... nahi to main baat nahi karungi aapse...'
Nani: 'Tujhe nahi lagta hume thoda emotional baatein karni chahiye time pe...uski jagah tu mujhe daant rahi hai...'
Radhika: (While controlling herself, not to cry) 'Daant isliye rahi hoon kyunki aaj ke bad mauka nahi milega... daante ka...aur kyu na daantu aap hi bhej rahe ho na mujhe door...'
Nani: 'Yeh sab toh hona hi tha ek na ek din Radha...'
Radhika: 'Isiliye toh sirf aapke liye kar rahi hoon mein...agar yeh nhi hota...toh kisi mein himmat nahi hoti... mujhe aapse door karne ki...'
Nani: 'Ye hui na baat...'
They shared a warm hug, and stayed like that for sometime.
Nani: 'Accha chal...bahut raat ho gayi hai...ab sone jaa... kal bahut bada din hai...hum sabke liye...'
Radhika got up and went back to her room where Aarohi was already waiting for her.
At Krish's side,
His dadi called him in her room as everyone else, including the guests were already asleep. Only Krish and his dadi were awake.
Krish: 'Dadi aapne bulaya mujhe...'
Dadi: Haan beta aaja mere paas baith... tujhe kuch zaroori batein batani thi...'
Krish: 'Haan dadi batao...'
Dadi: 'Dekh beta... kal teri shaadi hone vali hai...shaadi ka matlab hi zimmedari hota hai...Yeh toh tu janta hi hai... par mein tujhe kuch aur samjhana chahti hun...dekh voh ladki apna ghar... apna parivar... sab chodkar humare paas aayegi... isiliye ye humara farz banta hai ki hum use utna hi pyaar dein jitna uske gharvale use dete hai... aur hum sab se zyada...ab yeh teri zimmedari hogi...ki tu use yahan akelapan mehsoos na hone de...kyunki sabse bada rishta uska tujhse judne vala hai... (He was listening to each and everything very carefully)'...dekh mein janti hoon ki tum dono ek dusre ko pasand hi nahi karte par har rishte mein ek dusre ke liye pyaar se zyada zaroori hai... ek dusre ki izzat karna... pyaar toh dheere dheere ho hi jata hai... mein tujhse yahi umeed karti hoon ki tu kabhi bhi uski izzat pe baat nahi aane dega... har mushkil main uska saath dega... dega na...?'
Krish: Mein promise karta hoon dadi ki mein hamesha uski respect karunga aur kabhi bhi kisi ko uske saath bura nahi karne dunga...'
Dadi: 'Yeh hui na... mere Krish vali baat...
chal ab jaa aur so jaa... kal bahut important din hai... hum sab ke liye...'
He got up and went to his room.
Many thoughts were running in his mind at that moment, but soon he slept.
