Third Person POV: (First time eh 😉😆)
Erynn was exhausted after the show, sure they only performed for 45 minutes but add to that the adrenaline rush and jumping around on stage she did, a girl can get tired. Not to mention, Them staying around for the actual headliners' performance, Thalia's favorite band, The Grizzlies.
And now it's around 10pm and Erynn is all done for the day, but the afterparty was in full swing and she knew she had to make an appearance with her band members. At the very least, she'll stay for 10 minutes then dip.
She walked through the crowd of fans and industry people alongside, Heidi, Thalia and Caoimhe, feeling a little disconnected from the excitement around her. When they got in, she was met with a different vibe and sound from outside. Everybody's got a drink in hand and mingling without caring about their public appearance. They're all public figures here, they can relax. But all Erynn can think of is her warm cozy bed back at the hotel. Suddenly, she saw Saffron, the journalist who had interviewed her earlier, across the room.
Saffron looked up and caught Erynn's gaze, a smile spreading across her face. Erynn felt a flutter in her chest and couldn't help but smile back. She made her way over to Saffron, weaving through the crowds of people with a renewed energy.
"Hey there," Saffron said as Erynn approached. "You were amazing up there."
"Thanks," Erynn said, feeling a little shy all of a sudden. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
Saffron leaned in a little closer. "I enjoyed our interview too," she said. "I've been looking forward to seeing you again."
Erynn's heart skipped a beat. She had always been a good flirt but right now, she can't seem to think straight, Saffron's words made her feel warm all over. "Yeah?" she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
Saffron nodded, her eyes sparkling. "You're an interesting person Erynn." Erynn felt her face flush and cleared her throat. "I think you're interesting too Saffron."
"I know." Saffron replied casually, winking at Erynn and giggling at her joke. Erynn couldn't help but snort at Saffron's confidence. She felt herself slowly easing down and silently thanked Saffron from trying to remove the awkward air around them.
"So how's the party so far?" Erynn asked, leaning on the wall and crossing her arms in front of her. She raised her eyebrows at Saffron waiting for a response.
Saffron took a hors d'oeuvre from a passing server, giving one to Erynn before eating one for herself. She took a napkin and wiped her lips before answering. "I've been to hundreds of after parties like this and it's always the same. You know what the only thing that makes a difference?" She asks, looking around the place which Erynn did as well.
"What?" Erynn Asked.
A couple of seconds past and the two are just standing there on the side, observing and watching the other partygoers. Saffron glanced at Erynn, which the latter was quick to notice. "The company." Saffron answered, a faint blush coating her cheeks and spreading to her ears.
Hearing that, Erynn gathered her courage and smiled warmly at Saffron and asked, "Would you like to grab a drink or something? I know a great spot just a few blocks away."
Saffron felt a surge of excitement. She had been hoping that Erynn would suggest something like this. "I'd love to," she said, trying to keep the eagerness out of her voice.
As they left the party and walked down the street, Erynn couldn't help but feel a little nervous. Just now, she lied about knowing a place, when in fact this is her first time here in Berlin. She secretly asked the bouncer and thankfully there actually is a place just a few blocks away.
Adding to her nervousness is her crush on Saffron. Yes, She had been on plenty of dates before, but this felt different somehow. She wanted to impress Saffron, to show her that she was more than just a "rockstar". Not that she thinks this is a date, of course not! Erynn would never! She thought.
As they settled into a cozy booth at the bar, Erynn found herself opening up to Saffron in a way she hadn't expected. They talked about everything from their hobbies to space and everything in between, and Erynn found herself drawn to Saffron's intelligence and wit.
Before she knew it, the hours had flown by and it was time for her to head back to the party. Paige has been blowing her phone up for the past ten minutes or so, she needs to be seen around other singers and musicians, it's good for their band and so they had to cut it short, As they said goodbye, Erynn felt a flicker of disappointment that the night was over.
"Thanks for tonight," Saffron said, giving Erynn a smile that made her heart race.
Thank you," Erynn replied, feeling a little breathless. "I had a great time. You sure you don't wanna head back with me?" Erynn asked, looking hopefully at Saffron.
"I'm sure, I have work to do tomorrow, it's better if I go home now." Saffron replied, "bye bye." Doing a cute little wave at Erynn, Before she could take a step away, Erynn took a step closer towards her and asked, "Can I walk you to your hotel then?"
Saffron's eyes widened, Erynn has been shy all night, this is the boldest she's been after asking Saffron to go for drinks. Both couldn't help the blush coating their cheeks and their hearts for skipping a beat. They averted their gazes, Erynn to the ground and Saffron to the flickering lamppost.
Saffron shyly laughed and tucked a stray hair behind her ear, "you don't have to Erynn, I'll just take a cab, go back to the party. I'm sure everyone's looking for Quirky Stevens' sexy vocalist." She nudged Erynn and winked, teasing her like they've known each other for years, when it's only been 9 hours or so since they first met.
Erynn huffed a laugh and stretched her arms up in the air, making the crop top expose her abs. "You think I'm sexy huh?" She teased Saffron, leaning closely to her.
"Huh when did I say that?" Saffron pretended not to know, rubbing her chin with her finger, acting nonchalant but failing to hide the twinkle in her eyes.
Erynn rolled her eyes and retorted, "just admit it Ms. Abrams, you think I'm sexy." She wiggled her eyebrows at Saffron and leaned in even closer, so close that Saffron had to take a step back and push Erynn's face away from her.
"Stopppp." Saffron whined childishly, pushing her palm up in Erynn's Cheek.
Erynn could only laugh at Saffron's Cuteness. Grabbing Saffron's Hand off her face, she held it between them, swinging it slightly. "Okay okay, Goodbye now Ms. Abrams." She said, smiling warmly at Saffron.
"Goodnight Ms. Wiggins." Saffron smiled back, looking at Erynn like she hung the moon and stars.
Before Parting ways, They exchanged numbers and made plans to meet up again soon. Erynn waited for Saffron to get a cab and watch it drive away before walking back towards the party. She couldn't help but feel like something had shifted. Maybe it was the feeling of adrenaline finally leaving her body , or maybe it was the deepening of her crush on Saffron.
Either way, she knew that she couldn't wait to see Saffron again, to explore this new connection and see where it took them. As she made her way through the crowd of people, she felt like she was walking on air. It's been awhile since she felt this way about anyone, she forgot how good it feels to have a crush. Erynn might not know how Saffron feels about her but she knows Saffron is one of a kind, so even just a friendship with her would be more than enough, or so she thinks.
"Where have you been Erynn? I've been calling and texting you for a while now." Paige grabbed Erynn as soon as she saw her walk through the door. She walked both of them towards the corner where the rest of the members are hanging out.
"I went out for drinks with Saffron." Erynn replied truthfully, putting her arm around Caoimhe's shoulder. Erynn felt Caoimhe stiffened the slightest bit which made her feel awkward and insecure so she removed her arm immediately. Caoimhe gave Erynn a small smile and a cocktail which Erynn received gratefully.
"Saffron? As in Saffron Abrams from Under the Radar? The interviewer earlier?" Heidi heard Erynn's answer and proceeded to interrogate her. Erynn rolled her eyes and simply said. "Yeap"
"Ooh my girlie's moving fast eh?!" Heidi exclaimed, raising a high five in the air which Erynn half heartedly returned. Heidi will not stop unless she did it.
"It was nothing Dee! We just talked about our performance earlier, nothing else." Erynn tried to defend herself but it's useless when Heidi is like this.
"Sure sure, like we believe you." Heidi laughed, teasing Erynn is her favorite time of day.
"So it's like a continuation of the interview then?" Caoimhe suddenly asked, looking at Erynn intently.
"Huh? Uh sure something like that." Erynn rubbed the back of her neck, feeling guilty for her white lie. Caoimhe nodded her head, seemingly deep in thought.
"Let's party guys!" Thalia suddenly announced dragging us all to dance and mingle. Paige joined the fun, showing off her signature dance moves. Everyone was having a great time, and the energy was infectious.
The night went on, full of laughter, dancing, and good company. As the party began to wind down, The lead singer of the Grizzlies, Dahlia pulled Erynn aside and whispered, "I just want to say congratulations, I know this was such a big deal for you guys and I'm really happy with your success. Let's work together in the future again, yeah?"
Erynn smiled, feeling overwhelmed. "Thank you, Dahlia. That means a lot to me."
As the band said their goodbyes, Erynn couldn't help but feel excited about the possibility of working with such a fun and talented band. She walked out into the cool night air, eager to see what the future held.
