It was the day after they had bumped into each other and Rory had asked Amy over for a chat.
They were in the kitchen having a drink and Rory was looking at Amy, "Sarah said a woman stopped by yesterday, looking for me, said she cleared off after she found out I was engaged".
Amy looked at him and sighed before looking down, "Rory..."
"You still have feelings for me don't you".
"Okay yes, yes I do, I came here yesterday to get you back, but it's too late now, you're engaged".
"What was I supposed to do Amy, you broke up with me, said some really horrible things, I'm just supposed to wait for you?"
"You don't think I regretted saying those things? It was the worst mistake I ever made".
"Then why did you do it?"
"BECAUSE YOU WANTED CHILDREN".
Amy sat down and teared up slightly, Rory sitting next to her, "what do you mean?"
She looked at him and sighed, "I can't give you children, Rory"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I didn't want it to be true, I knew how much you wanted children" she teared up more, "and I can't have them". She looked down and started crying, "I'm so sorry".
He teared up slightly and pulled her into a hug, "you don't need to be sorry Amy, that must have been awful for you".
She looked back up at him and he wiped her tears away, taking hold of her hand. "I really don't know what to say Amy".
Sarah came through the door and looked at them, "hey, is everything okay?"
Amy sighed and wiped the rest of her tears, letting go of Rory's hand, "yeah, everything's fine, I was just going". She stood up and Rory watched her.
"Amy.."
"No it's okay, I'll see you round" she looked at Sarah, "I forgot to say congrats yesterday, about the engagement". She walked out of the kitchen and through the front door, tearing up again as she left.
