"The city doesn't seem right." Vivi peered closer and there was a sandstorm hitting the place. Were these many sandstorms just a natural thing here? I think it's just a little excessive how many we've seen so far. We walked closer to the place and there was no water anywhere it was dry no plants or anything. "Vivi isn't this supposed to be an oasis city." Usopp asked. "The oasis has been swallowed up." Vivi looked quite distant as she said this. Something had been bothering me since we reached here. There was absolutely no resistance where was the rebel army that was so hyped up? Were the even here to begin with.
We walked closer and there was a man digging the oasis up he hadn't noticed us yet when Vivi walked up to do the talking. "We are looking for the rebel army." Vivi said. "Those fools I hope you aren't planning on joining I don't want to hear about them". I crouched down to avoid the barrels and buckets that were thrown our way. The guy calmed down after we confirmed that we weren't joining. "Those fools aren't here anymore they left. Their base is in Katorea." The guy said as he continued digging. Great all that walking was for what? Just to learn that we are supposed to go in the opposite direction. "Ah yeah they are in Katorea." Chopper said. "That's what lashes says." The camel knew the whole time we were going the wrong way.
"Ah Vivi we'll have to go there now?" Luffy said. The guy stopped his digging and looked up. "Did you say Vivi?" Luffy was now panicking. "Osan Vivi isn't the princess!" Luffy's attempt at a cover up was sad. Usopp hit his head. "Vivi it's me . Do you recognize me? I don't blame you if you can't I have lost a lot of weight ." The old guy looked into Vivi's eyes in search of recognition and something lit up she knew who he was. "Toto-ojisan!" She had teary eyes. This was the guy she had mentioned to Nami and I. He was Koza's father. "You guys must be tired we have some inns feel free to rest there." I remained outside to enjoy the cool air. It was in the evening and the weather was nice. "Oi osan what are you doing." Luffy was curious as to what Toto was doing. "I'm digging. There should be water if I dig far enough."
"So we just need to dig." Luffy then got down and started digging but he was filling up Toto's hole which was just counter productive. They were arguing about it and Toto-san gave up arguing. I was just sitting there and Luffy was doing a good job in digging and he did so well going deep. You went and saw he was asleep. This gave me an idea.
"Toto-san he's asleep."
"Please let me carry him back he has done so much to help." We walked back to where everyone else had already fallen asleep.
I walked out with Toto ojisan. He gave me a suspicious look. "Aren't you going to sleep?" He asked me. "How much did Luffy dig is there enough water for you?" He was hesitating which meant there was barely any water.
"Toto-san please describe to me in detail what the oasis looks like." He shrugged knowing it wouldn't be much help describing it getting lost in the memories of what once was. After a solid ten minutes I kind of got the picture I honestly don't think I can do the trees and all that extra stuff but the water in the depression should be good enough. I walked over to where Toto said the water was and knelt he came over trying to figure out what was happening.
"What are you doing.?"
"Just wait and see, you might want to step back a little."
With that he stepped back and watched. I don't want to wake up anybody so this will have to be quiet. I sunk my fingers into the sand and imagined what I wanted it to look like and then removed my fingers.
"What was that for nothing -" before he could finish what he was saying he fell into the water of the oasis.
"What... But how? This shouldn't be possible." I laughed and threw up a thumbs up hopefully he saw it.
Toto pov
I saw the lad throwing a thumbs up before they face planted into the ground. I walked over to help but there was a wolf like thing protecting them. I didn't see it before because of how dark their fur is. Maybe if I approach slowly. The wolf started growling lowly and lifted the masked one onto its back. The dog then lay down being used like a bed and pillow.
Y/n pov
I woke up and everyone was outside looking at the oasis. "Osan how ?" Usopp was in disbelief. I was on Kuro's back. What happened? After the whole thing I was completely out of energy. "You should ask your friend there." He said pointing to me.
"What happened?"
"Yeah you passed out and I wasn't allowed near because of someone." He said the last line pointing at Kuro.
Everyone filled their bottles and we started a whole other journey to Katorea. We were walking in the heat. Well they were walking Kuro was stubborn and insisted on carrying me. That's what Chopper translated. Luffy then dropped to the ground near what was a withering tree.
"I quit." He really just sat there.
"Luffy this isn't time to joke we need to go." Sanji stated as he tried to get him to move but Luffy wouldn't budge.
"I just want to beat Crocodile. If we stop the people rebelling will that stop Crocodile?" Luffy asked as he peeked from under his hat. This question was more than likely directed at Vivi. I had to sit upright for this one. "Vivi you want this to end without anybody getting hurt not even us. Don't you think that's too soft?We're pirates you're better off without us." Luffy had just single handedly explained everything wrong with what we were doing until now.
Vivi launched herself at Luffy and hit him.
"My money's on Luffy here." I whispered to Zoro, I wouldn't dare say anything like that loudly with the air so tense. "What?" He turned to me confused.
"Like who do you think is going to win the fight?"
*So nobody cares but anywho.... I had to get the vaccine against my choice but I needed the document to travel so my left hand has been aching really bad and I still had to finish packing and get my papers in order. When I reach the country I'll upload these chapters. Plus we're at 1k reads 😭🤩🤩
