"Are you sure that you don't want to hear me say it, Angie?"
The latter was still avoiding my eyes and I felt that she was completely running from my confession. But it already came out so might as well confess properly:
"I think you would regret not listening to me."
Angie wanted to run away but I was quicker:
"I love you."
Angie was still avoiding my eyes and I knew that I had to tell her the most directly possible:
"You are way more than my best friend. I want to marry you, Angie."
She finally looked up and I could see her eyes go through all the colors of the rainbow.
"You didn't misunderstand. I love kissing you, Angie. I love you romantically and I..."
I wanted to go on but at the same time I felt my period cramps come back suddenly. I didn't expect to feel that pain and had to hold my breath. Seriously? Why now? I was going to go on as if nothing happened, ignoring the pain but that was without counting on Angie's over protectiveness. She immediately noticed my face going paler despite me being already pale as a wall and she straightened up, raising her hand towards me:
"Did your cramps come back?"
I knew that she was going to absorb my pain again and this time we both knew that I wasn't going to be tricked. It was a question of speed and I ran away as quickly as possible, Angie running after me:
"Anita! Wait!
-No!"
I knew that Angie would soon catch up to me so I had to quickly think of a solution. Fortunately this was a school where a lot of people learned swordsmanship and on the walls were a lot of swords decorating the place. I couldn't think of anything else and quickly launched to grab one and pointed it at Angie.
"Stop!"
Some students decided to pass the same corridor and they froze, seeing me pointing a weapon at the wizard princess. They immediately turned around and ran away while Angie continued walking closer to me with a worried look. We both knew that I wouldn't hurt her with a weapon especially when she was disarmed so I quickly grabbed another sword and threw it at her:
"Let's do this. The person who wins this sparring match can do what she wants."
I had never won against Angie at sparring yet so I had to give it my all. I was ready to fight until death but Angie didn't seem interested in wasting time and cast her sword aside:
"Come here, Anita. You are in pain."
I quickly shook my head and seeing that my plan wasn't working, I pointed the sword towards my arm. Angie finally stopped in her tracks and I could see her eyes turn a flaming red.
"Anita? What are you doing?"
I immediately regretted what I did. The way Angie looked at me was terrifying but it was too late to retreat now.
"If you touch me, I am going to hurt myself. So stay there."
I thought that I finally outsmarted Angie but a second later she was in front of me and the sword was far away on the ground. I didn't even understand what had happened when I felt all the pain of my cramps flowing away.
"Angie!"
I was going to get angry but the second I saw Angie's eyes, I shrinked back. I had never seen her so angry before. Her eyes slowly turned pitch black and I swallowed loudly.
"I-I'm sorry."
She surrounded me with her arms without looking away for a second:
"You are sorry? What are you sorry for?"
Her voice was ice cold and I couldn't help shivering.
"Do you know what I would do if someone threatened to hurt your body?"
I felt like a child being reprimanded and didn't dare talk. Angie caressed my wrist as she went on:
"I would kill people for way less. But what could I do if you are the one threatening me?"
She looked outraged and I wasn't scared of her but I felt that I wasn't going to escape this easily. I had to quickly do something:
"I love you."
Angie's eyes immediately went back to purple and her cheeks reddened. I had to hold back a sight. I escaped death.
"Don't try changing the topic."
I tried acting the most innocent possible and started pouting:
"But I love you... I just wanted to tell you."
Angie forced herself to frown but I could see the effect I had on her:
"Did you think that this would be enough to make me forgive you?
-Isn't it?"
Angie couldn't hold my gaze any longer and had to look away:
"It isn't.
-You don't like hearing me confess?"
Angie didn't know what to answer and I decided to take advantage of the situation to go back to our previous topic:
"I love you, Angie. What about you? What do you feel about me? You didn't have time to answer."
I saw Angie's cheeks turn piony red and she almost choked on her saliva.
"I... I love you too. Of course I do. I love you so much that I could die. I am so sorry that I didn't confess sooner. I should have been the first one.
-Does that mean that we are dating now?"
Angie had to get her senses back:
"I know what you are doing, Anita. Stop changing the subject. I am mad at you right now."
I slowly nodded:
"I understand. I would be mad too. I am sorry. How could I make you forgive me? Oh, I have an idea. What about a kiss?"
Angie froze and I could almost see smoke rising from her forehead.
"A-a k-kiss?
-You don't want to kiss me anymore?
-I..."
She bit her lip and stared at me for long seconds trying to decide wherever to continue being mad or to kiss me. I decided to give her a little push and tiptoed to get closer to Angie's lips:
"Is that a no?"
I could almost hear Angie's last string of sanity rip and she covered my lips of hers while pushing me against the wall. I had completely forgotten how passionate her kisses were and I felt my knees give out. Fortunately Angie immediately grabbed me and lifted me, maintaining me against the wall while holding my thighs. She didn't pull back for a second and I thought I would literally faint. I wanted to tap Angie's shoulder to make her understand the state I was in but I touched her chest without wanting to and immediately retreated my hand as if I had touched fire.
Angie wasn't as shy as I was and her hands started wandering around my body freely. Her magic steadying me in place, she pulled me even closer and I suddenly felt her hand slip under my shirt and caressing my lower back. This made me let out a whimpering noise and Angie finally pulled back, her cheeks flushed and staring right at me. I was even more surprised than her but I didn't have time to say anything because I had to fight to get my breathing back on track.
