“It’s too early for you to worry about this.”

Jennie pursed her lips and didn’t comment.

She was worried too early.

“Sister, I won’t consider dating for the next few years,” Hanbin promised. “So don’t worry.”

Jennie said, “I’m not worried. If you really meet a girl you like, you can talk to her if you want. But this will have to wait until after your surgery.”

“Speaking of surgery, Hanbin went to the hospital for a check-up a few days ago. His health is pretty good now. I told him that I’ll operate on him after his birthday.”

Lisa successfully changed the topic.

Speaking of Hanbin’s illness, Jennie immediately asked with concern, “Will Hanbin be able to undergo surgery soon?”

“Mm, he can undergo surgery now.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course.”

“Lisa.”

“Mm?”

“Are you sure you can perform the surgery well?” Now that it was almost time for Hanbin’s surgery, Jennie was a little worried. “You haven’t touched a scalpel in a long time, right? Are you rusty?

“Should you practice first?”

Lisa was speechless.

Was his wife doubting his medical skills?

As a top expert in this field, he couldn’t tolerate being questioned like this.

Moreover, she was his wife.

Lisa was speechless. “You don’t believe me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you. It’s just that you haven’t touched a scalpel in years, right? Is surgery the same as other work? If you don’t do it often, you’ll get rusty.”

After all, he was operating on her younger brother.

Jennie had to confirm it first.

Lisa was speechless.

He was so angry that he laughed. “Baby, are you afraid that Hanbin’s surgery will be dangerous with me as the lead surgeon? Do you have so little confidence in me?”

Jennie turned around and saw that Lisa’s expression was a little dark.

Was he… angry?

Just as she was about to coax him, she heard Hanbin say, “Brother-in-law, I have confidence in you. When I went for the checkup, the director said that you were especially good back then. Your surgery didn’t fail, so I believe you can definitely treat me.”

“Did you hear that?”

The man said to Jennie, “Even Hanbin trusts me, but some people still doubt me.”

Jennie was speechless.

Well, she was wrong. She was repentant.

At the Manoban Residence.

Old Madam was already waiting for them when Jennie and the rest entered.

Seeing that her two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law were back, Old Madam smiled happily.

“Jennie, Hanbin, come to Grandma.”

Old Madam ignored Lisa and called them over.

She looked at Jennie and said that she had lost weight.

She then looked at Hanbin and said that he had lost weight.

“What’s wrong with you siblings? You always make me worry. Don’t you eat well?

“It’s only been a while, and you’ve lost so much weight.”

Hanbin smiled and said gently, “Grandma, this is a psychological effect. I weighed myself just two days ago, and it’s the same as before.”

“Yes, Grandma, it must be something psychological,” Jennie said. “That’s why every time you see us, you’re sure that we’ve lost weight.

“In fact, I eat a lot on set. I even gained 1 kg.”

“What psychological effect?”

Old Madam wasn’t satisfied with this explanation and glared at the siblings. “I think you’ve lost weight. I say, work and studies are important, but your health is also important. You can’t fall behind in any aspect.”

“Alright, alright, alright.” Jennie covered her mouth and smiled. “Grandma is right, we’ll listen to Grandma. Didn’t we bring Hanbin over to Grandma’s place today?”

“I got the kitchen to prepare your favorite dishes.” Old Madam’s eyes were full of love and affection. “See if I missed anything later. Tell the kitchen and let them cook.”

“Grandma has a granddaughter-in-law and a grandson. This grandson of yours seems unnecessary.” Lisa sounded like he was complaining, but there wasn’t a hint of it in his eyes.

He was very happy to see Old Madam and Jennie getting along so well.

The more Old Madam doted on Jennie, the happier he was.

He couldn’t wait for more people to pamper his wife.

Madam Manoban’s presence was unnecessary.

Madam Manoban, who was being ignored, looked awful. It was fine that Hanbin and Jennie didn’t greet her.

Even her own son ignored her.

“I think I’m the extra one.” Madam Manoban had intended to wait for Jennie and Lisa to come back this time and take the opportunity to mend the relationship between mother and son and daughter-in-law. But when she saw their attitude, she was instantly filled with anger.

She couldn’t help but mock. “Do I have no place in this family anymore? Even my own son sees me as an invisible person.”

The moment Madam Manoban spoke, the warm atmosphere changed.

Old Madam’s expression changed first. She frowned and said angrily, “Do you have to create trouble every time Lisa and them come back? Since you know you’re superfluous, then don’t stay here!

“I don’t want to affect everyone’s good mood!”

Madam Manoban’s face turned pale. “Mom, I…”

“Tell me, when have you not been like this? I’ve said so much to you, but you didn’t take it to heart. Are you trying to make Jennie and the rest never come back?

“Are you trying to make it difficult for an old woman like me to see her grandchildren in the future?”

“No, Mom…”

“I think that’s what you think!” Old Madam was so angry that her breathing was a little hurried. “Why don’t you think about why Lisa and they are treating you like this? Don’t you know what you’ve done?”

Madam Manoban was speechless.

She didn’t dare to say anything.

But she wasn’t convinced.

“Alright, you’d better go upstairs and rest.” Old Madam didn’t leave her any face this time. She said directly to her in front of everyone in the room, “Everyone doesn’t want to see you.

“You’re not happy to see them too.

“In that case, it’s better not to see them.”

Madam Manoban’s expression darkened.

Old Madam didn’t care if she agreed or not. She waved her hand and called a housemaid over. “Tell the kitchen that Madam is having dinner upstairs tonight. Get them to send it upstairs.”

The housemaid was stunned. She looked at Old Madam, then at Madam Manoban, whose face had turned pale. She lowered her eyes and said respectfully, “Yes, Old Madam.”

Old Madam was really domineering this time.

This wasn’t up to Madam Manoban.

Whether she was willing or not, Old Madam didn’t want her to stay here anymore.

Madam Manoban felt embarrassed in front of the juniors and housemaids. She stood up with a pale face and trembled with anger. “There’s no need to go through so much trouble. Since you don’t want to see me and think I’m superfluous, I’ll leave now.

“I’ll leave this house. No one in the house welcomes me, anyway. I’m an eyesore here.

“I’ll go, I’ll go now!”

After yelling angrily, Madam Manoban turned around and ran away with reddened eyes.

Ten minutes later.

Madam Manoban got a bodyguard to carry her luggage and walked down coldly.

They walked to the lobby.

Old Madam looked at the luggage the bodyguard was carrying, her face darkened. “Wenpei, what are you doing? Where are you going with the luggage?”

Madam Manoban turned around. “Mom, don’t you find me an eyesore? Don’t you think my presence will affect your family’s harmony? If I leave, it won’t affect anything, right? You don’t have to worry that I’ll stop your grandson and granddaughter-in-law from coming back.”

Old Madam was furious. She didn’t expect Madam Manoban to be so willful at such an old age.

And do something so childish and ridiculous.

She actually wanted to leave home.

Madam Manoban left quickly.

There was a minute or two of silence in the hall.

Old Madam was so angry that her breathing quickened. Uncle Zhang quickly took out her medicine and poured her a glass of warm water.

Old Madam’s emotions slowly calmed down.

But she still couldn’t help but say, “I’m so angry. Lisa, did you see how your mom is now?

“This is all because of your dad. I told him long ago that your mom can’t be pampered, but he didn’t listen to me.

“Now, he has spoiled your mom so much. Does she even have the dignity of an elder? Jennie and Hanbin are still here, and there are so many people in the hall. She really embarrassed herself!”

Seeing that Old Madam’s breathing was a little unstable again, Uncle Zhang immediately said, “Old Madam, don’t be too angry. Be careful of your body. It’s not like you don’t know Madam’s personality. Perhaps she left the house in a moment of anger.

“When Madam calms down, she’ll definitely come back. Then, she’ll realize that she didn’t do well and apologize to Old Madam.”

“Who wants her apology? Do I need her to apologize to me?” Old Madam panted heavily. “I feel like I’ve let these children suffer.”

“Grandma, Hanbin and I aren’t aggrieved.” Jennie was afraid that Old Madam would become too angry and immediately held her hand to persuade her gently. “Isn’t Grandma still doting on us? We came back this time mainly to see you.

“Alright, Grandma, don’t be angry. You said that you got the kitchen to make Hanbin and my favorite dishes. Can we eat now? I think I’m a little hungry.”

Jennie gave Hanbin a look.

Hanbin understood and immediately nodded in agreement. “Grandma, I think I’m a little hungry too. Is there any braised lion’s head in the kitchen? I really want to eat it now.”

Old Madam’s attention was diverted when she heard that they were hungry.

She looked at Hanbin lovingly and said, “Grandma knew that you liked braised lion’s head, so she made a lot of it. There’s also your favorite pickled fish, braised lobster, and so on. Jennie likes spicy food, so I got someone to make spicy chicken and chopped pepper fish for you. Since you’re hungry, quickly go and eat.”

Old Madam instructed Uncle Zhang. “Get the kitchen to serve the dishes.”

Uncle Zhang heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that she wasn’t angry anymore. “Yes, I’ll go now.”

After Madam Manoban left, they had a good dinner.

At least, Jennie thought so.

She had a good appetite and ate two bowls in a row.

Seeing that she could eat, Old Madam said with a gratified expression, “In the future, you have to eat like this to grow meat. I saw that you ate a lot of the fish today, it seems like you like it very much. Bring the chef along when you go back. Let him cook for you in the future.”

“Grandma, Jennie hasn’t been here recently.” Lisa saw that Jennie still had sesame on her lips and gently wiped it away. “Let’s wait for her to come back first.”

“Alright.” Old Madam took the tea from Uncle Zhang and took two sips. She then wiped the corner of her lips with a handkerchief. “I’ll keep him for you. When Jennie comes back, let him go back with you.”

Jennie quickly said sweetly, “Thank you, Grandma.”

Old Madam looked at her and chuckled. “Lass, although work is important, your body is more important. You must remember to take good care of your body and not let yourself work too hard. With your current status, you don’t have to work too hard.”

Old Madam’s concern warmed Jennie’s heart. She nodded and said, “Mm. I’ll be careful, Grandma. You have to take care of yourself too. When I’m done with my work, I can come often to accompany you.”

“Hanbin, you too. You have to take good care of your body.”

Old Madam knew about Hanbin’s illness and was heartbroken. She patted his hand and said, “Look at how skinny you are. You’re even thinner than your sister. You’re a boy.

“When your brother-in-law performs the surgery for you and our Hanbin recovers, Grandma will definitely make it up for you. Don’t give yourself too much pressure in your studies. To Grandma, it’s better for you to be all healthy and safe.

“Especially Hanbin. You have to take good care of your body. Don’t be careless.”

Hanbin smiled and held Old Madam’s hand. “Alright, Grandma. I’ll be careful.”

The siblings could tell that Old Madam really treated them well.

Hence, besides his brother-in-law, the other person in the Manoban family that Hanbin liked was Old Madam.

“Hanbin, I heard from your dad that you’re starting to take over the company now. Is that so?” Old Madam still doted on her grandson. Thinking about how her Manoban family bloodline had been lost outside for so many years, Old Madam’s heart ached.

Thankfully, Hanbin was taken away from the orphanage by the Kwon family and was doing well.

But compared to Lisa and Jisoo, who grew up in the Manoban family, there was still a huge gap.

Hanbin was good-looking, had a sweet mouth, and excelled in his studies.

Although he had just reunited with her, Old Madam really liked him.

She was naturally very concerned about Hanbin.

“Mm, Dad wants me to learn and familiarize myself with the company’s business. I’ll go to the company with him when I’m free.”

Old Madam nodded. “The children of the Manoban family can handle a lot of things very early. Your brother-in-law and your Big Cousin are the same. It’s not bad to familiarize yourself with them now. When you graduate, you can enter the company directly.

“Your dad only has you, so you’ll have to manage the company in the future. Our Manoban family’s company can’t fall into the hands of outsiders.”

“Mm, Grandma is right.”

“A few years ago, your dad didn’t have a child, and Aunt Wen sent her nephew to the company. I had nothing to say then. But now that I have a biological grandson, I have to manage some things.

“Also, your Aunt Wen is very jealous. You’re not her biological child, so she has some opinions about you. If you feel aggrieved, tell Grandma. Grandma will help you talk to her. Anyway, remember, Grandma will always protect you, okay?”

Hanbin smiled. “Mm. I got it, Grandma. Actually, Aunt Wen is fine. She didn’t give me any grievances.”

“That’s good.”

“Jennie, how are you getting along with your biological parents? I can see that your mother is a very gentle person. I can tell that she loves you very much.”

“Mm, Mom treats me very well.” Jennie’s eyes warmed at the mention of Madam Kim. “Brother treats me very well too.”

“They’ve been looking for you for more than 10 years and haven’t given up. They must care a lot about you. Now that your family of four is reunited, it’s a happy thing. But, are you not planning to publicize this matter?”

Jennie shook her head. “Mm, no. I think it’s fine as long as we’re a family. It’s not important if others know.”

“That’s true.” Old Madam sighed. “Nothing is more important than a family reunion. But even if it’s not made public, we still have to hold a small banquet and let some family and friends know about you.”

Jennie had no objections to this. “Mom said so, too. Let’s find a time to hold it.”

“Speaking of finding someone, you should think about your wedding with Lisa. I remember you saying that you’ll hold a wedding after graduation? You’re about to graduate, too.”

Jennie was stunned. Now that Old Madam mentioned it, she realized that she was indeed going to graduate soon.

She had said that she would hold the wedding after graduation.

“I think it’s time for Sister and Brother-in-law’s wedding too.” Hanbin agreed.

“I’ve already thought about the wedding.” Lisa turned to look at Jennie. “We’ll see what kind of wedding Jennie likes.

“I think the suggestion given by my in-laws is not bad. The Kim family will hold one, and the Manoban family will hold another.”

“In that case, we’ll have both Chinese- and Western-style weddings. Of course, this is your wedding, as long as it’s up to you.”

“Grandma, it’s still early.” Lisa smiled. “We can discuss it later.”

“Anyway, whether it’s Chinese or Western, I want to give Jennie a grand wedding.”

“That’s what I should do. Your and Jisoo’s weddings will be so grand. Oh right, I heard that the girlfriend Jisoo brought back is good friends with Jennie? Jennie, is this true?”

“Mm, yes. Rosé and I share a room. We’ve always been close.”

“Then, we’re really fated. One of you two sisters is married to Lisa, and the other is with Jisoo. If your friend marries Jisoo, your best friend will become your sister-in-law. You’ll become a true family, and your relationship will be even closer in the future.”

If Madam Manoban said this, Jennie wouldn’t think that it was a good thing.

But Old Madam’s words were true.

“Yes, I hope that Rosé can marry Big Brother in the end. That way, she’ll be my sister-in-law.”

“This year has been the most relaxing. In the past, Lisa and your brother’s marriage always worried me so much that I couldn’t sleep well. I was always worried that they’d be alone for the rest of their lives.

“Thankfully, God has been good to our Manoban family and has resolved their personal problems this year. When Jisoo gets married, I won’t have anything to worry about anymore.”

The Old Madam was old and weak.

After dinner, she chatted with Jennie and the others for a while before saying that she was tired and wanted to rest.

After Uncle Zhang helped Old Madam to her room, Hanbin thought of something, got up, and said to Lisa, “Brother-in-law, I have something to talk to you about. Can I talk to you alone?”

Lisa glanced at Jennie.

Jennie got up and said, “I’m going to the garden for a walk. You can talk to Hanbin.”

With that, she turned and walked out of the hall.

“Hanbin, follow me.”

Lisa went upstairs to the study room.

Hanbin quickly followed.

He closed the door gently after entering the study.

Lisa sat on the sofa and pointed at the seat opposite him. “Sit down first.”

Hanbin walked over slowly.

After he sat down, Lisa turned around and asked, “What do you want to talk to me about?”

“Brother-in-law, did the Jung family ask you for help?” Hanbin didn’t want to beat around the bush with Lisa. He had promised Somi that he would help her plead for mercy. Whether Lisa was willing to help or not, he just had to fulfill his promise.

Lisa frowned.

He could guess what happened when Somi looked for Hanbin.

“You wanted to talk about the Jung family? Did Somi ask you to plead for her family?”

Hanbin looked up in shock.

“Somi looked for you this afternoon. Did she look for you because of the Jung family?”

Hanbin kept quiet for a while before nodding. “Mm.”

“So, you want me to help the Jung family?” Lisa raised an eyebrow.

“Brother-in-law, are you unwilling to help the Jung family because of what Krystal did to Sister?” Hanbin asked.

“I guess.”

“I know you’re standing up for Sister, but… the rest of the Jung family should be innocent. I heard that the Jung and Manoban families have a good relationship. Brother-in-law, are you really not going to help the Jung family?”

Lisa narrowed his eyes and looked at Hanbin meaningfully.

“Hanbin, answer me first.”

“Brother-in-law, go ahead.”

“If Somi didn’t ask for your help, would you still think that the rest of the Jung family is innocent?”

Hanbin’s expression changed.

“Hanbin, it’s not that I don’t want to give the Jung family a chance. I’ve already given them my conditions. As long as they can do it, I’ll agree to help. But if they can’t, the Jung family’s life and death has nothing to do with me.

“I know you and Somi are classmates. It’s not good for you to reject her if she asks for your help. If she asks about it again, just tell her what I said.”

Hanbin kept quiet for a while before nodding. “I got it.”

“Somi is a good girl.” Lisa paused and met his surprised gaze. “But with your sister’s current relationship with Krystal, it might not be so smooth.”

“Brother-in-law, w-what are you talking about?” Hanbin looked at him in shock. “You’ve misunderstood. Somi and I are just classmates. I only agreed to help because we’re classmates.”

“Perhaps.” Lisa didn’t say much about this. “I just want to tell you that it’s best not to date before the surgery. It’s best not to date within a year after the surgery.

“Although it’s fine if you want to talk about it, it’s best not to.”

“Brother-in-law, I’ve never thought about this.”

“Mm.” Lisa nodded. “I’m not worried about you. It’s just that your sister is worried about you.”

“Sister is worried about me?” Hanbin was stunned. He looked down and said coldly, “Sister’s overthinking. I’ve always been fine and nothing happened to me. She’s always treated me like a child and is always worried about me. That’s why she’s so worried.

“Actually, I can take good care of myself.

“Tell Sister not to worry. I can take good care of myself.”

“Hanbin, no matter what happens, you don’t have to be polite to me if you need my help.” Lisa got up and walked towards him. He then bent down and patted him on the shoulder. “I’m not only your brother-in-law but also your cousin. Your sister repeatedly told me to take good care of you. If anything happens to you, your sister definitely won’t forgive me.”

“Mm, thank you, Brother-in-law.”

Back at Lu Shan Courtyard.

After showering, Jennie changed into her pajamas and walked out of the bathroom.

Lisa had also showered and was lying on the bed in his pajamas, reading a tablet.

Jennie walked over and lay down beside him.

The man habitually opened his arm and let her lie on it.

Jennie turned around and hugged him. “What did Hanbin say to you at the Manoban Residence?”

Lisa looked down at her and placed the laptop aside. He then hugged her gently.

He took a deep breath and whispered, “He asked me to help the Jung family.”

Jennie looked up in shock. “He pleaded on behalf of the Jung family?”

“Somi asked him to plead for her family. He shouldn’t have been able to reject her. But he only mentioned it and didn’t say anything else.”

“Then, you…”

“Of course, I didn’t agree to it. The Jung family’s shortfall is too huge. Even if the Manoban family is willing to help, they have to invest a lot of money. And the money we invest might not be earned back.

“From a business perspective, helping the Jung family won’t do us any good.”

“But, haven’t the Jung and Manoban families always been on good terms? If you’re unwilling to help, will they go to Grandma?”

“I’m the Chairman of the Manoban Corporation, not Grandma.” Lisa smiled. “Even if Grandma is willing to help them, I’ll be the one to make the final decision.”

“Then, are you really not going to help the Jung family?”

“Why, you want to plead for the Jung family?”

“…No.” Jennie wasn’t so saintly. After what Krystal did to her, it’d be strange if she still pleaded with the Jung family.

“Old Master Jung and Grandpa used to be very good friends. They went to the same battlefield. The friendship between the two families was also because of them. Ever since Grandpa passed away, the interactions between the two families have decreased a lot.

“The Manoban family has no obligation to help the Jung family. If we were in the same situation, the Jung family might not help the Manoban family. Whether the Jung family can survive depends on them. According to the current management model of the Jung family, even if they survive this disaster, if there isn’t internal reformation, the same thing will happen in the future.

“Moreover, your brother wants the Jung family to suffer. If I help, your brother will probably have a lot of opinions about me.”

“My brother?” Jennie blinked. “What has this got to do with my brother?”

“Of course it has something to do with him.” Lisa pinched her nose lightly. “Do you know why the Jung Corporation’s share price suddenly fell so quickly? If it wasn’t because of your brother, even if the Jung Corporation has problems, it can still last for a year or two.

“The Jung Corporation suffered a huge blow because of that stock price drop, so they couldn’t hold on anymore.”

“You mean… my brother caused the Jung family’s share price to drop?” Jennie was shocked.

“Mm, he said he wants to stand up for you. He can’t let his sister be bullied for nothing.”

“But how did he do it?”

“This isn’t easy for others, but for your brother…” Lisa smiled. “It should be rather simple.”

Jennie was stunned again. Her brother was actually so powerful.

As if he could tell what she was thinking, Lisa said, “Although your brother is a director, he doesn’t only know how to make movies. Back when he was talking about the chaos in the stock market, he was only 18.

“It’s just that he’s not interested in this. Instead, he likes to film, so he chose to be a director.”

Jennie was stunned.

She never expected Taehyung to have such a powerful past besides being a director.

What was even more unexpected was that Taehyung was the one who caused the Jung Corporation to suddenly have problems and almost go bankrupt.

After hearing this, she only had one thought in her mind: Her brother was really impressive.

“It seems like you have to treat me well in the future.” Jennie sighed.

Lisa raised an eyebrow. “Mm?”

Jennie looked at him and said seriously, “My brother is so powerful. If you don’t treat me well, what if he attacks the Manoban Corporation in the future? Are you afraid?”

Lisa was stunned. “I’m afraid. I’m very afraid. You’re right. I have to treat you well to prevent the Manoban Corporation from going bankrupt.

“I’ll be good to you for the rest of my life and pamper you.

“I can’t let the Manoban Corporation go bankrupt in my hands. Then, I’ll be the sinner of the Manoban family.”

Jennie seemed so serious, and so was the man.

But they were actually joking.

Jennie couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s good that you know. I have a brother now. If you don’t treat me well, I’ll get him to beat you up.”

“Then, I might have to disappoint you.”

“Mm?”

“What you said will never happen.” Lisa hugged his wife tightly and kissed her on the forehead. “Jennie, I’ll love you for the rest of my life. You’re my baby for the rest of my life. If I let you down one day, I won’t have a good ending.”

Jennie immediately covered his mouth.

She bit her lip and glared at him. “Why are you suddenly saying this? What do you mean by a bad ending? I want you to live well for the rest of your life.”

The man chuckled and took her hand away, placing it on his handsome face. “A man who let his wife down shouldn’t have a good ending. If I haven’t done anything wrong, I’m not afraid of ghosts knocking on my door. I’m not even afraid of taking the oath, what are you afraid of?”

“You can’t say that.” Jennie pinched his cheek. “Anyway, don’t say such things anymore. I don’t like it.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Jennie could hear his heartbeat.

Its steady sound was like a hypnotic spell. As she listened to it, her eyelids became heavy.

“Lisa, I’m so sleepy.” Jennie yawned and said lazily, “I want to sleep.”

“Mm, go to sleep.” Knowing that she was going to wake up early tomorrow, Lisa wanted her to have a good sleep.

He moved his body and turned to protect her. He also raised his arm so that she could sleep more comfortably.

He placed his other hand on the top of her head as if protecting her in his arms. “Have a good dream, Baby.”

Jennie yawned again and said softly, “Then… good night.”

“Good night.”

The next day, Jennie flew back to F City.

The shoot continued.

Xue Shiya paid the contract signing fee for the first commercial. When Jennie received the money, she realized that it was much more expensive than the contract fee.

She called Linda to ask what was going on.

“Because the facial mask you endorsed is selling especially well. It’s in short supply now. Xue Shiya said that the extra money is the bonus. I also told the company that the bonus won’t be taken out. I’ll send it all to you.

“Although I know you’re not short of money now…”

“Sister Xie, I’m short of money now.” Jennie didn’t wait for Linda to finish before saying, “No one will complain about having too much money. So, if there’s any suitable endorsement, you can help me take it. I really don’t mind my schedule being full every day. I especially like this kind of fulfilling life.”

Linda was speechless.

Jennie realized that she seemed to have forgotten something.

She thought for a while before remembering.

She seemed to have forgotten about her husband.

If her schedule was full every day, Lisa probably wouldn’t let her stay in the entertainment industry anymore.

Jennie felt like the money Xue Shiya gave her was free.

She was pleasantly surprised.

Although it wasn’t a lot, it was a form of affirmation for her.

She immediately sent Rosé a WeChat message: [Rosé, I’ve received my first endorsement fee. They think my endorsed product is selling very well and even gave me a bonus. I’ll treat you to a meal when I get back!]

Rosé replied quickly: [A bonus? Is it a lot?]

Jennie: [It’s not a lot of money, but it’s definitely not a problem to treat you to a big meal. You can bring that person along.]

Rosé: [He’s been very busy recently. I haven’t seen him for days. I’ll tell him the next time we meet.]

Jennie: [Oh right, did Madam Manoban look for you recently?]

Rosé: [No.]

Jennie: [Then, did she do anything else?]

Rosé: [I don’t think so…]

Jennie was deep in thought.

It shouldn’t be.

Madam Manoban strongly objected to Rosé and Jisoo being together. She wanted to use money to get rid of Rosé, but was she willing to let it go?

Jennie felt that Madam Manoban wasn’t someone who would give up so easily.

It wasn’t her style to do nothing.

On the other side.

Rosé had just replied to Jennie’s message when someone called her.

She saw the caller ID and her expression changed. She picked it up after a few seconds.

A sobbing voice came from the phone. “Rosé, your brother is in trouble. You have to save him.”

Rosé took the fastest flight back home.

Today was Friday.

According to her usual habit, she went to Jisoo’s house for the weekend.

Before she boarded the plane, she sent Sister Lin a WeChat message, telling her not to prepare her dinner tonight. She also told Sister Lin that she had returned to her hometown and wouldn’t be there for the weekend.

Coincidentally.

After she got on the plane and turned off her cell phone, Jisoo’s Rolls-Royce slowly drove into the house.

After getting off the car.

Sister Lin was waiting outside the building as usual.

Jisoo handed the laptop to Assistant Xu. Seeing Sister Lin standing outside alone, he looked at the time and asked curiously, “Sister Lin, Rosé didn’t come today?”

Sister Lin sighed.

Mister had been very busy recently and hadn’t been back for a long time.

He finally came back today, but Miss Park wasn’t around.

They missed each other.

She wondered when Mister would return next.

If he got busy, he wouldn’t be able to see her for half a month.

“Miss Park said she has something to attend to at home, so she won’t be here this weekend.”

“Back home?”

Jisoo took out his cell phone and called Rosé. A robotic female voice came from the cell phone, indicating that Rosé’s cell phone was off.

Jisoo frowned and hung up. “Did she say what it was?”

Sister Lin shook her head. “No.”

Jisoo pursed his lips and kept quiet for a while. He then turned around and asked Assistant Xu, “You checked her information before. Do you remember where her hometown is?”

Assistant Xu thought for a while and nodded. “I remember. Miss Park’s hometown is a small county called Hui Ning.”
