With that, he didn’t care about Madam Manoban’s reaction. He turned around and looked at Krystal coldly. “I remember telling you not to look for me here anymore. Did I not make things clear to you, or did you think I was joking?”

Krystal couldn’t help but shiver when she met his cold eyes.

She knew what Lisa said to her previously.

She was here today because Madam Manoban was with her.

She thought that even if she and Lisa were really on bad terms previously, they’d known each other for over 20 years. He couldn’t possibly treat her like a stranger.

But he didn’t leave her any face in front of Madam Manoban. She felt ashamed.

She bit her lip and forced a smile. “Lisa, are you still angry with me? I thought you’d be appeased after so many days.

“Didn’t you… say that out of anger?

“It’s not as if we’ve never quarreled before. You’ve also said angry words before. I-I’ve never taken it seriously.”

Although she said that, she knew very well that Lisa was just being spiteful.

She was just trying to save some face for herself.

Lisa’s eyes turned even colder. “Who told you that I said it out of anger? Do you think I can’t do anything to you just because you’re here with my mom? Krystal, don’t play these silly tricks. I’ve already made things clear to you. You have to know your place, don’t force me to say worse things.”

“What kind of attitude is this, how could you treat a girl like Krystal like this!” Madam Manoban grabbed Krystal’s hand and frowned. “Krystal grew up with you, and our Manoban family treats her like a daughter. You’re treating her like this because of some unimportant matters. Are you going to break ties with her?

“Lisa, what are you thinking? You’re my son, but I don’t understand you at all now. What’s wrong with you? You weren’t like this in the past.”

“Not something important?” Lisa looked at Krystal coldly. “So, you complained to Mom. Don’t you think what you’ve done is too much? Do you still feel aggrieved?”

“I didn’t…” Krystal looked afraid as she leaned towards Madam Manoban and grabbed her arm. “I didn’t complain to Aunt Manoban. Lisa, don’t be like this, I’m so scared…

“I know I did wrong, and I’ve apologized to you. I can even apologize to Jennie. As long as you can forgive me, I’m willing to do anything. But you’re not willing to give me a chance.

“I never thought of complaining to Aunt Manoban. I just felt that Aunt Manoban needed to know about our current relationship, so I told her about it. I didn’t lie to Aunt Manoban at all. I told her everything I did.

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask Aunt Manoban.”

“That’s right, Krystal told me all about it.” Madam Manoban patted the back of Krystal’s hand tenderly. “Krystal is in the wrong, but she already knows her mistake. She did it because she cares about you too much.”

“Can’t you just forgive her once?

“I don’t think she did anything unforgivable. If she didn’t like you and didn’t care about you, would she do that?

“Lisa, I brought her here this time because I hope you can reconcile with her. You’re a man, can’t you be more magnanimous? What’s wrong with competing with a girl? You’re even going to sever ties with her. Our Manoban family and the Jung family family family family have so much friendship, and the elders of both families are still doing well. You’re just a junior, how can you break ties with her? Aren’t you a joke?

“Krystal has already apologized to you. What else do you want from her?”

Lisa waited for Madam Manoban to finish her sentence expressionlessly. After a moment of silence, he said coldly, “Mom, in your eyes, this isn’t an unforgivable matter. But in my eyes, it’s not. It’s not that I haven’t given her a chance, but she’s only gotten worse.

“If you’re here to plead for her, you’ll be disappointed.”

Madam Manoban was stunned for a while before her expression turned awful. “Even if I plead on her behalf you won’t give me face?”

“This has nothing to do with who’s pleading.” Although Lisa was speaking to Madam Manoban, he looked at Krystal coldly. “Whoever hurts the person I care about, no matter who it is, has no face to speak of.

“If I forgive her, I’ll let my wife down.”

“Lisa, you!” Madam Manoban was furious. “Is that woman that important to you? I think you’re possessed. You don’t even know what you’re doing.”

Lisa’s eyes darkened. “Mom, that’s your daughter-in-law. I hope you can change the way you address her.”

“Daughter-in-law?” Madam Manoban was angered by his attitude. “I’ll never acknowledge her. She’s dreaming if she wants to be the Manoban family’s daughter-in-law. Does she think she can rest easy after marrying into the Manoban family?

“Let me tell you, I won’t admit her identity. If you have the capability, then don’t acknowledge anyone for her. I’ll pretend I didn’t give birth to you!”

Lisa’s expression darkened.

Madam Manoban looked at him defiantly.

Krystal sneered as she watched the mother and son exchange blows.

She couldn’t wait for Madam Manoban and Lisa’s relationship to worsen.

That way Madam Manoban would hate Jennie more and more.

The more Madam Manoban detested Jennie, the more she liked her and wanted her to marry Lisa.

With Madam Manoban’s help, there was still a chance.

As the conflict between Lisa and Madam Manoban intensified, Jennie woke up in the lounge.

She heard everything Madam Manoban and Lisa said.

Including what Krystal said.

When she heard Madam Manoban say that she would never acknowledge her as her daughter-in-law, she couldn’t help but feel hurt even though she knew that Madam Manoban didn’t like her.

No matter how strong her heart was and how nonchalant she appeared to be, it was impossible for her to not be bothered by it.

But Lisa’s firm defense warmed her heart.

He wasn’t biased just because Madam Manoban was his mother.

He didn’t want her to feel aggrieved.

This touched her.

If it wasn’t for Madam Manoban and Krystal, she would’ve rushed out to hug and kiss him.

How could her husband be so good?

She really, really liked him.

At this moment, she was glad that she chose to marry him.

If she missed such a man, she would probably regret it for the rest of her life.

Jennie stood at the door and saw Madam Manoban’s increasingly awful expression.

She thought for a while and sent Lisa a WeChat message: [Hubby, I heard Mom’s voice just now. Is she here? Bring the clothes in quickly. Mom’s here, I have to go out and meet her.]

Madam Manoban didn’t like Jennie, and the reverse was also true.

She could have continued to pretend to be asleep and never go out to see Madam Manoban.

She didn’t want to see Madam Manoban.

But after some thought, she decided to go out and greet her.

No matter what, Madam Manoban was Lisa’s biological mother.

Even if she couldn’t like her now, she couldn’t lose basic respect.

No matter how Madam Manoban treated her.

As a daughter-in-law, she just had to do her job well.

At least, she had to have a clear conscience.

She didn’t want to force things anymore.

The only person she cared about now was Lisa.

As long as he was by her side.

She didn’t care about anyone else.

Outside the lounge.

Lisa’s cell phone rang. He saw Jennie’s message and picked up the bag of clothes on the table.

Without greeting Madam Manoban and Krystal, he turned and walked into the lounge.

Madam Manoban’s expression darkened.

Her chest heaved up and down.

“Aunt Manoban, don’t be angry.” Krystal bit her lip gently. “Brother Lisa isn’t targeting you. He just… doesn’t want to see me. I-I think I’d better go.”

She blinked and said with slightly reddened eyes, “I shouldn’t have come. I don’t want you and Brother Lisa to be so unhappy because of me.”

“What are you talking about.” The angrier Madam Manoban was with Lisa, the more she felt that Krystal was sensible. At this moment, she only hated Krystal for not being her daughter. If only she had such a sensible and caring daughter.

She wouldn’t be so angry.

“Krystal, this has nothing to do with you.” Madam Manoban looked at the tightly shut door of the lounge and gritted her teeth. “It’s all because of that vixen. She caused so much trouble the moment she married into the Manoban family.

“Why are you leaving? What’s there to be afraid of? Even if she’s married to Lisa, she’s nothing. I have to wait for that vixen to come out today. I want to see what she dares to do to me.”

Krystal saw the hatred and dissatisfaction in Madam Manoban’s eyes, and a hint of satisfaction flashed past her eyes.

In the lounge.

Jennie changed her clothes and went to the washroom to tidy herself up. After making sure that her appearance was alright, she followed Lisa out.

Lisa stopped at the door and looked at her hesitantly. “You really want to go out? If you don’t want to…”

“Hubby, I know that Mom is here, but I’m still hiding inside and not going out to see her. This isn’t good. She’s your Mom, and she’s my Mom now. I have to respect her. And with you with me, I know you’ll definitely protect me, right?”

The man deepened his eyes and lowered his voice. “Call me that again.”

Jennie blinked and asked, “What should I call you again?”

It was her first time being so proactive in such matters because of his outstanding performance.

Lisa wrapped his arm around her waist and squeezed it. “Call me Hubby.”

Jennie blinked again and smiled sweetly. “Didn’t I call you that just now?”

“Mm, I haven’t heard enough. Call me again.”

The man’s request wasn’t overboard. Jennie felt her heart warm up as she thought about how he’d protected her in front of Madam Manoban. She looked at him gently and said, “Hubby.”

Lisa’s Adam’s apple bobbed.

He looked down with burning eyes.

Jennie was too familiar with that look.

She was afraid that he would do something irrational.

Madam Manoban and Krystal were still outside.

She didn’t want them to think that she was still restless in the middle of the day and still wanted to cling onto Lisa.

“Mom is still outside!” Jennie patted the man’s arm and warned him. “Don’t do anything rash.”

Lisa didn’t say anything. He looked at her deeply for a while and took a deep breath to calm his breathing.

He still hadn’t let go of her waist. When he spoke again, his voice wasn’t as hoarse as before. “I know, Baby. Of course, I’ll protect you. Besides me, no one can bully you.

“I just don’t want you to be unhappy. I want to be as perfect as possible and satisfy everyone. But there are a lot of things that I can’t control. Mom still has misunderstandings about you, and I can’t change her mind right now. I might make you feel aggrieved.”

Jennie nodded in understanding. “You don’t have to worry, I know. I’m not a renminbi, I can’t make everyone like me. Actually, with you and Grandma pampering me, I’m already very satisfied.”

Although she said this, Lisa still looked a little apologetic. “No matter what, I still made you feel aggrieved.”

“I don’t feel aggrieved at all.” Jennie reached out to hug him. “My husband treats me so well and gives me so much happiness. He makes me so happy every day. How could I feel aggrieved?

“I’m very happy. I’m very satisfied with my life now.

“Lisa, you gave me all of this.”

Jennie said, “You’ve already done very well, I won’t allow you to blame yourself.”

Lisa looked down at the petite girl in his arms, and his heart softened.

His gaze softened as he patted her head affectionately. “Alright. I won’t blame myself, then. I’ll try my best to do better and give my wife more happiness.”

They walked out of the lounge hand in hand.

Krystal’s expression darkened when she saw the intimate scene.

Madam Manoban’s expression turned even colder when she saw Jennie.

The moment Jennie walked out, she saw two cold faces…

She pretended not to know anything and took the initiative to greet Madam Manoban. “Mom, you’re here. I’m sorry, I fell asleep just now and didn’t come out to welcome you. Eh, Miss Jung is here too?”

Jennie looked at Krystal and pretended to be shocked. “Hubby, you only told me that Mom was here, you didn’t tell me that Miss Jung was here too. Did Miss Jung come with Mom?”

Lisa didn’t tell her that Krystal was here too.

But Jennie knew.

She heard Madam Manoban and Krystal talking outside.

She said it on purpose to spite Krystal.

She knew what Krystal cared about the most, so she knew how to upset her.

When she called Lisa “Hubby”, Krystal’s expression was already awful.

By the time she finished speaking, Krystal’s eyes were almost overflowing with gloom.

Jennie looked at her gloomy expression and smiled. “Mom, Miss Jung, quickly sit down. Oh right, what would you like to drink? Has the secretary prepared it?”

She talked to Madam Manoban and Krystal like she was the mistress of the house.

Madam Manoban’s and Krystal’s expressions darkened.

Madam Manoban was slightly better, but Krystal’s expression was already awful.

Jennie was mainly targeting her.

Those words were mainly meant for her.

Krystal wasn’t stupid, she could tell.

But with Madam Manoban and Lisa around, she could only suppress her anger and pretend not to know anything.

Even so, when she saw Jennie holding Lisa so intimately and calling him “Hubby”, Krystal almost went crazy with jealousy.

She couldn’t accept the way Lisa looked at Jennie.

He was so focused and loving…

It was as if he only had eyes for Jennie.

She’d never seen such a focused and affectionate gaze from him even in her dreams.

If… he was willing to look at her the same way, she would probably think that she was the happiest person in the world.

She’d been by his side for over 20 years.

But he gave all his love to another woman.

She was indignant.

If liking him meant that she was destined to end up like this, then what had she done for the past 20 years?

He wasn’t even touched.

The more Krystal thought about it, the sadder she felt. She tried to hold it in, but she couldn’t. She said sourly, “Miss Kwon, you don’t have to bother us. How could the secretary dare to neglect Aunt Manoban when she’s in her son’s company? Why would she need Miss Kwon to worry about this?

“But Miss Kwon said that you were asleep, so you didn’t know we were here. I think it’s getting late. It’s already past lunch break, why would Miss Kwon be sleeping at this time?”

Krystal sounded normal on the surface.

But anyone more attentive could tell that there was another layer to her words.

Madam Manoban’s expression darkened.

“Krystal is right. Lisa is my son. I’m here at my son’s company, and there are plenty of people to entertain me. There are no outsiders here, so why are you being so polite? It’s already so late, and you’re still sleeping. Why did you sleep when Krystal and I came?”

“Only you know if you’re sleeping or not.”

Madam Manoban hadn’t thought so much.

But after hearing what Krystal said, she was instantly unhappy with Jennie.

She felt that Jennie did it on purpose.

Knowing that she was here, she hid inside on purpose.

She was getting increasingly dissatisfied with how arrogant and disrespectful her daughter-in-law was.

She knew that nothing good would come from a small family.

It was either a good match or a bad match.

If her daughter-in-law was Krystal, she wouldn’t be so dissatisfied.

The outstanding son she’d raised was taken away by this woman. How hateful.

Lisa frowned. “Mom, you…”

“Mom, I was really sleeping.” Jennie grabbed Lisa’s arm tightly and looked up at him with a “don’t be impatient” look. She then smiled and said to Madam Manoban, “I was waiting for Lisa to have dinner together. He can’t accompany me when he’s busy with work, and I didn’t want to affect him. So, I went in for a nap.

“I really didn’t know you were here. I only found out when he woke me up.

“If I made Mom uncomfortable, I’ll apologize to you.”

Madam Manoban opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, Lisa said coldly, “What are you apologizing for, you didn’t do it on purpose. What’s wrong with this time, why can’t we sleep? Who made the rule about when we have to sleep?

“You’re the Lady Boss of the Manoban Corporation. Even if you find someone to play mahjong in the office, no one would dare to say anything about you, let alone sleep in your own company.”

Krystal’s face went pale.

Lisa’s words were directed at her.

This was a slap to her face.

It was bad enough that Lisa didn’t want to give her face, but to be so disrespectful in front of Jennie, Krystal’s face turned pale.

Jennie was very satisfied with her husband’s strong support.

She said cooperatively, “Can I really get someone to share a table in your office?”

Lisa lowered his head and didn’t care about what Madam Manoban and Krystal thought. “Of course you can. I’ve said it before, you can do whatever you want with me.”

“Hubby, you’re so nice. Thank you for being so nice to me. I’m really happy and satisfied to be your wife.” Jennie glanced at Madam Manoban and Krystal’s dark expressions and felt that she could work harder to make them feel even worse.

She understood it, anyway.

Madam Manoban’s hatred for her was already ingrained.

No matter what she said or did, this wouldn’t change.

Hence, she couldn’t be bothered to try to get on his good side.

All she had to do was to do what was on the surface.

This was also to make things difficult for Lisa.

No matter how much she disliked Madam Manoban, she was still Lisa’s biological mother.

This relationship would never change.

She couldn’t possibly let Lisa abandon his own mother for her.

Lisa had already seen through her intentions, but he didn’t expose her. His handsome face was full of indulgence as he stroked her head cooperatively. “I’m very happy and satisfied to be able to marry you and be your husband.”

The two of them flaunted their love.

Madam Manoban and Krystal were practically invisible. One of them was gray and the other was pale. They looked at Jennie as if they wanted to poke a hole in her.

Madam Manoban clenched her teeth.

This little vixen was so shameless.

And she was flirting with her son right in front of her.

Who knew what it would be like in private.

Madam Manoban suddenly thought of Wei Zheng buying clothes.

Wei Zheng said that the coffee spilled on her and stained her clothes, so he had to get another set.

But…

Madam Manoban had believed Wei Zheng’s words at first, but now she was suspicious.

This woman was behaving so improperly in front of her.

It was obvious that she wasn’t a good person.

It wasn’t strange for such a woman to do something out of line.

She said that the coffee spilled all over her body…

Madam Manoban was so angry that her hands were shaking.

How could there be such a shameless woman!

It was bad enough that her background wasn’t good, but she was so slutty deep down.

How could such a vixen be worthy of her son!

At this point, Madam Manoban had made up her mind. No matter what, she couldn’t let Jennie stay in the Manoban family.

A family like the Mos would be a joke if they had such a daughter-in-law.

In the future, the Manoban family would become the laughing stock of the upper-class society.

She’d been in the limelight for so many years, she couldn’t afford to lose this face!

Hence, no matter what, she couldn’t let Jennie stay in the Manoban family. She couldn’t just watch as the Manoban family became a joke.

“Lisa, you can be lovey-dovey with your wife anytime. Now, I have something to say to you. Tell her to leave for a while.” Madam Manoban only told Jennie, not Krystal.

Even though she was his biological mother, Lisa didn’t give her any face and said directly, “Jennie isn’t an outsider, what’s there to avoid? Mom, just say it directly. There’s no need to mind her.”

Seeing how protective he was of Jennie, Madam Manoban got even angrier.

“Since I asked her to leave, it’s not convenient to say it in front of her. Why? You feel bad just asking her to leave for a while? Am I a vicious witch? Are you so afraid that I’ll do something to her”

“You don’t take anything I say seriously anymore!

“Lisa, do you still respect me as your mother? Do you think that you can abandon your mother after marrying her?”

Madam Manoban got angrier as she spoke.

She didn’t have her usual elegant and noble image.

She seemed more down-to-earth now.

There was a faint smell of smoke in the air.

Jennie saw that Madam Manoban was so angry that her chest was heaving and her face was pale. She looked as if she would faint at any moment. She couldn’t help but worry that Madam Manoban would really faint from anger.

If Madam Manoban really fainted, even if it wasn’t their fault, they would be labeled as unfilial.

She thought for a while and decided to take a step back. “Lisa, I think I’ll excuse myself for a while. I want to go out for a breather too. You can have a good chat with Mom.”

This was nothing to Jennie.

She wasn’t angry.

No matter what Madam Manoban said to Lisa, she would find out eventually.

Moreover, she didn’t have to stay with Madam Manoban and Krystal.

“Jennie, you…” Lisa frowned at her, thinking that she was angry.

“I’m just going out for a while. I’ll be back soon.” Jennie knew what he was thinking and didn’t care what Madam Manoban and Krystal thought of her. After hesitating for a few seconds, she tiptoed and kissed Lisa’s handsome face.

In that case, he wouldn’t think too much.

As expected, her kiss was very effective.

The man relaxed and looked down at her for a few seconds. After confirming that she wasn’t angry, he sighed in relief and patted her head. “Alright, then you can go out for a walk. Do you have money with you? Do you want me to…”

“No need, no need. I have enough money on me. When I don’t have enough, I’ll get it from you.”

“Alright.” Lisa said affectionately, “Tell me if it’s not enough.”

The two of them showed off their affection for each other.

Krystal clenched her teeth and dug her nails into her palms, but she didn’t feel any pain.

Madam Manoban didn’t look happy at all.

The more Jennie acted like she was in love with Lisa, the angrier she got.

She had already decided that Jennie was a shameless woman.

Hence, even if Jennie was just being lovey-dovey with her husband, she would feel that she was deliberately seducing her son.

It was a vixen’s behavior.

After Jennie left.

Lisa returned to his desk and sat down. He looked at Madam Manoban coldly and said, “You can talk now. What exactly is it that you need to say that my wife needs to leave?”

“Aunt Manoban, I’ll leave too.”

Krystal, who had been silent all this while, suddenly said sensibly, “You two have a good talk. I’ll wait for you outside.”

Madam Manoban couldn’t say it in front of Krystal, so she nodded. “Alright, you can leave first.”

Jennie came out of the washroom and saw Krystal standing outside.

“Jennie, let’s talk.” Krystal looked at her coldly. “There are some things I think we need to clarify.”

Jennie looked at her and smiled. “Miss Jung, were you waiting for me outside?”

Krystal nodded. “That’s right, I’ve been waiting for you.”

Jennie was speechless.

Krystal was getting impatient. “I said we should find a place to talk. What do you think?”

“Sure.”

Jennie thought about it and felt that they needed to have a good talk. She nodded and said, “I want to have a good talk with you too.”

The Manoban Corporation had a cafe.

They took the elevator to the cafe downstairs.

Some employees were drinking afternoon tea there. Some of them knew Jennie and Krystal. When they saw them walk into the cafe, they all turned to look at them.

Wow.

The President’s current girlfriend and childhood sweetheart were actually in the same frame.

Was he trying to cause trouble?

They heard that the childhood friend came with Madam Manoban.

Was he showing off his girlfriend?

Once a woman’s gossiping spirit was ignited, she couldn’t stop.

After Jennie and Krystal sat down, Jennie couldn’t be bothered to beat around the bush and immediately said, “Miss Jung, we’d better get straight to the point.”

“I wonder what you want to talk to me about.”

“Ha.” Krystal looked at her mockingly. “Jennie, why are you feigning ignorance? You know what I want to talk to you about. I don’t like to beat around the bush, so I’ll be frank.

“To tell you the truth, Aunt Manoban came here today to persuade Lisa to leave you. I believe you know very well that Aunt Manoban doesn’t like you. You married into the Manoban family behind her back. If Lisa hadn’t secretly gotten a marriage certificate with you, you wouldn’t have been able to marry into the family.

“You should know this very well.”

Krystal despised Jennie from the bottom of her heart.

In her eyes, Jennie came from a humble background and wasn’t worthy of her attention.

If it wasn’t for Lisa, someone like Jennie wouldn’t even have the right to talk to her.

And from the moment she was born, she was a noble lady.

Hence, she always felt superior to Jennie.

She always seemed high and mighty.

Even when she spoke, it was with an air of superiority.

“So.” Jennie’s expression didn’t change at all. She smiled and said casually, “What exactly is Miss Jung trying to say?”

Krystal sneered when she saw that Jennie was still feigning ignorance. “Jennie, I really don’t know what you’re thinking. You know that Aunt Manoban doesn’t like you, and Lisa married you only because you have a certain effect on his misogyny. Why are you still clinging to him shamelessly?

“Is it because you can’t bear to let go of your position as the Second Young Madam of the Manoban family?

“But you have to be clear about one thing. Your position as the Second Young Madam of the Manoban family isn’t secure just because you’re married to Lisa. Aunt Manoban is Lisa’s biological mother, after all. Even if they have some friction, it’s only temporary. Lisa treats you well now, but that’s because you’ve only been together for a while. He’s still fresh to you, and you’re still useful to him.

“Before that, he won’t consider divorcing you.

“But what about the future?” Krystal’s eyes were full of malice. “When you two are together for a long time, will he still find you fresh? When his illness is cured, will you still have any value to him?

“When that happens, he won’t hesitate to kick you out.”

“Oh, is that so?” Jennie didn’t seem to take her words seriously. “I’m really curious about what Miss Jung wants to say to me.”

Krystal felt that Jennie was feigning ignorance.

She knew what she was trying to say, but she pretended not to.

She clenched her teeth and said hatefully, “If you’re smart and leave him now, you’ll get a lot of compensation. Otherwise, when he gets tired of you, you might not get a single cent.

“Jennie, I advise you to be smarter. The compensation you’ll receive now is enough to last you for the rest of your life. If you insist on staying in the Manoban family, nothing good will come of it.”

Jennie couldn’t help but laugh.

Krystal asked, “What are you laughing at?”

Jennie chuckled again. “It sounds like Miss Jung is doing this for my own good. I’m really touched that you’re so thoughtful towards me.”

Krystal said, “Jennie, I hope you can be more realistic. If Aunt Manoban doesn’t agree with you and Lisa being together, do you think you can still be happy together? Aunt Manoban is still Lisa’s biological mother. He can’t possibly abandon his own mother for you.”

“Oh, I understand.” Jennie pretended to be enlightened. “Miss Jung is here to persuade me to divorce Lisa. Am I right?”

Krystal was furious. “If you know your place, you should know what’s best for you.”

The waiter from the cafe came over with the coffee they’d ordered. Jennie took her cup and slowly took a sip. Then, she looked up at Krystal and said, “I’ll be honest with Miss Jung too. Although you’ve put in so much effort for my sake, I’m afraid I’ll disappoint you.”

Jennie took another sip of her coffee and smiled. “I’m sorry, I don’t intend to divorce my husband. I don’t have that intention now, and I won’t have it in the future. Miss Jung, you don’t have to persuade me anymore.”

“Jennie, do you really think that you can remain as the Second Young Madam of the Manoban family just because you’re clinging onto him?” Krystal was furious at her for being so insensible.

“That’s between me and my husband. This has nothing to do with Miss Jung, right?” Jennie’s tone was still calm, but there was a hint of coldness to it. “It’s not good for Miss Jung to be so worried about other people’s family matters.

“Although the Jung and Manoban families are long-time friends, and you and my husband have been friends since you were young, Miss Jung is still an outsider, after all. Aren’t you going a little overboard by keeping an eye on other people’s family matters and interfering in the marriage of a friend and his wife?

“Miss Jung, you should know that when it comes to matters between husband and wife, besides settling it on your own, even the interference of family members is unnecessary. Moreover, Miss Jung, you’re not even considered family.” Jennie’s tone was cold when she spoke the last sentence.

She felt that Krystal didn’t know what was going on.

Could it be that she’d been too gentle to her the previous two times, so she felt like she was a pushover?

Did she think she was a cat?

“So what.” Krystal sneered. “Whether you’re willing to admit it or not, an outsider like me has a higher status in the Manoban family than you do. Aunt Manoban’s daughter-in-law is still me. So what if you’re married to Lisa? Besides Lisa, no one in the Manoban family will acknowledge your status.”

“Jennie, your background and career are tarnishing the Manoban family’s reputation. If people find out that Lisa married a woman like you, do you know that he and the entire Manoban family will be laughed at?

“A wife like you is simply not presentable.”

Jennie couldn’t help but laugh again. “I’m so unpresentable, so you’re shamelessly eyeing my husband and trying to ruin our relationship? Miss Jung, even if I’m unpresentable, at least my values are right. I know I can’t covet a married man.”
