As you read, be mindful that although this is a romance story, the heavy topics discussed in the story are a reality for many. With today's media, it's easy to fall into the cycle of wanting to be kidnapped and saved by a sexy Mafioso, but this is a fantasy. I ask that as you read, you're mindful and allow yourself to acknowledge the horror of human trafficking and violence against women, not glorify it. Roughly 25 million victims are trafficked annually across international borders worldwide. The conclusion of this story shouldn't be 'I want to marry a mafia man,' but rather, 'what can I do to help those who suffer at the hands of organized crime groups?'
