By DawnBr3ak

The workers thought that the person was waiting for a message from his girlfriend.

But it was Chairman Manoban they were talking about…

That would be unlikely.

Chairman Manoban didn’t seem to have a girlfriend.

They had heard rumors that he carried a girl to his office once. They were also behaving really intimately.

But they had never encountered that girl.

Could it be that they were still together?

Everyone was harboring the same suspicion, but no one dared to ask.

Chairman Manoban seemed to be in a bad mood today.

It was said that his face turned cold in the previous meeting. It shocked the management who were in the meeting as well.

Chairman Manoban’s face seemed even colder in this meeting.

He was evidently getting angrier as he continued to check his phone.

It felt as though there was a cold aura around him.

It was frightening.

Everyone was hoping for the meeting to quickly end.

They couldn’t handle it any further.

Chairman Manoban was really scary.

It felt as though God heard their prayers. The meeting that was meant to last for an hour ended just after half an hour.

The person sitting at the head of the table in the meeting room was really handsome. Even though he was evidently angry, he was still good looking.

His face was expressionless, and his eyes were cold. He left the room immediately after he ended the meeting.

As he left the room, he checked his phone again. The last message was from half an hour ago, and it angered Lisa even further.

She still did not reply to him.

Could she not feel that he was angry?

Could she not have sent a few more messages to appease him?

She could even give him a call, sweet talk him a little, and he would’ve forgiven her already.

But she didn’t…

She stopped caring about him after he didn’t reply to her question.

He felt like just an afterthought to her.

She didn’t care about him at all.

As he thought, he frowned even more.

He felt neglected.

He felt that he couldn’t even be compared to Rosé.

Because Jennie was willing to spend time with Rosé and not with him.

He wanted to spend every waking moment with her.

But she didn’t seem to share the same sentiment.

He felt that he was the one driving this relationship.

He angrily looked at their chat and decided that he was going to ignore her.

If she refused to reply to him, he wasn’t going to text her at all.

If she didn’t care about him, he wasn’t going to care about her as well.

He immediately decided that he was going to ignore Jennie for a few days. If she wasn’t going to take the initiative to approach him, he wasn’t going to take the initiative as well.

He was determined this time.

He was going to wait for her to approach him this time.

On Weibo.

The news about Nancy was gaining traction.

There were close to a billion comments about her in just half a day.

She was number one on the trending list.

Everyone was discussing the truth regarding the rumors about her.

Her fans behaved as though they were brainwashed and attacked anyone who even remotely criticized Nancy.

The fans’ behavior angered the other netizens, and they started to attack Nancy as well.

The ones sitting on the fence started to believe in the news after witnessing the fans’ behavior.

The behavior of the fans would be a reflection of their idol, after all.

The fans of well-behaved, cultured idols would emulate their idols and wouldn’t have done all that.

Some of the netizens also thought that Nancy was doing this to get in the limelight.

Because she was silent for too long.

It was so long that it felt as though she had an ulterior motive, to increase her popularity.

Or else, why would she not respond to anything after so long.

Her team didn’t seem the ones responsible for this situation.

Nancy was negatively exposed previously.

But her public relations team would immediately resolve the issue within an hour or so.

Hence, because of her lack of response, the situation was starting to lose control.

Now, quite a number of the netizens were convinced that the news was true.

As it was true, her team didn’t dare to respond haphazardly. They were worried about the possible repercussions if they did so.

So, her team must be cracking their heads on this matter.

This situation wasn’t like the previous one.

If Nancy was really a mistress, she was already unqualified to be an artiste.

One of the guidelines issued by the regulatory authority, GD HQ, was that companies should reconsider using an artist who could negatively influence the public with unsound moral principles. The companies were advised to ban these artists, especially in cases where they had a strong influence on the public.

As it was just a guideline, it didn’t have any legal repercussions.

But no one dared to disobey GD.

Hence, if Nancy was really a mistress, her ruined reputation would be the least of her worries.

What was more important was that no one would dare to employ her anymore.

She would never survive in the industry.

Even the public knew about these repercussions.

Star Splendor must be aware of it as well.

Star Splendor was trying to make Nancy popular, and she was Kai’s girlfriend. There shouldn’t be any reason why Star Splendor wasn’t mobilizing their public relations team to help her in this situation.

“What do you think Nancy’s team is planning?”

At a hot pot restaurant.

Rosé was enjoying her tripes after dipping them in the sauce. She then picked up her phone and took a look at Weibo.

Nancy’s news flooded her screen.

She glanced through a few of the articles and checked Star Splendor’s official account.

Yet, there wasn’t any response from the official account or Nancy’s studio.

“They haven’t responded. Could it be that they are still coming up with a plan? This isn’t their usual way of doing things. Even if they are still thinking of a plan, shouldn’t they remove the news from the popular list already?

“How could they allow the public to continue with the comments.”

Jennie was shocked. “Star Splendor still didn’t give any response?”

“Yup. Isn’t it strange considering such a long time has passed already?”

“Now that you mentioned it, it is a little strange.” Jennie scooped up a spicy beef slice from the pot and put it in her bowl. She thought for a while and said smilingly, “It’s alright. No need to worry about them. The beef slices are done. Let’s finish them before they get overcooked.”

Rosé immediately directed her attention to the food.

As she bit down on the beef slice, it was so spicy that she started tearing.

But she immediately picked up another slice.

As she ate, she both complained and complimented on how spicy the food was.

“Oh right, Baby.” Rosé couldn’t handle the spice any further and started drinking water. After she was done, she looked at Jennie and asked, “Prince Charming still hasn’t replied to you?”

Jennie was speechless.

She was enjoying her dinner.

But the moment Rosé mentioned him, her mood was immediately affected.

Because Lisa was indeed so childish that he didn’t reply to her at all.

Initially, Jennie was still trying to find a reason to defend his behavior.

He could be busy working on something and didn’t have the time to check his phone.

Or he saw the message but didn’t have the time to reply to her.

But as he didn’t reply in close to two hours, Jennie couldn’t find any reason to justify his behavior any further.

She was a hundred percent sure that Lisa was intentional in not replying to her.

This childish guy decided to ignore her just because she didn’t agree to dinner.

This was the first time Lisa treated Jennie like this.

He was so accommodating to her every demand all this while that Jennie forgot that he had a bad temper.

All along, as she was being spoilt by him, it wasn’t obvious to her.

Lisa was really cold to those around him, except when it came to her.

Jennie couldn’t take it.

She wasn’t used to being treated this way.

She felt wronged.

Really wronged.

She didn’t want to care about him anymore!

“Let’s not talk about him.” She said angrily, “I don’t care if he replies or not.”

Rosé was speechless.

Even though Jennie said that she didn’t care. But she was so angry that she wasn’t even eating her favorite food.

How was she not caring?

She thought for a while and tried to talk some sense into her. “Didn’t you say that Prince Charming was easy to appease? Why don’t give him a call? Maybe he’s waiting for you to call him?”

“No,” Jennie replied. “If he isn’t going to talk to me, I’m not talking to him as well.”

“What if he doesn’t look for you anymore? This would never happen, I’m just giving an example.”

“I won’t look for him anymore as well.” Jennie bit on her lip and replied, “Why should I look for him when he doesn’t care about me anymore?”

Rosé was confused. “How does he not care about you?”

“If he cares about me, how can he bear to not talk to me?”

Rosé was amused by both of them and replied, “What if he also shares the same sentiment? Wouldn’t this cold war persist forever?”

Jennie was speechless.

She didn’t know what to do.

But she just didn’t want to care about Lisa right now.

At the same time, in a hospital.

Nancy was still in a state of unconsciousness as she laid in the hospital bed.

Outside of the ward.

Kai stared at the doctor in disbelief. His face was pale from the shock.

He asked, shocked, “What? She… had a miscarriage?”

“Yes,” the doctor replied. “Mr. Kai, I’m sorry. We tried our best. But Miss Nancy arrived really late and the baby wasn’t fully developed. We couldn’t save the child.”

The doctor noticed Kai’s pale expression and continued thoughtfully, “Don’t be too upset Mr. Kai. Miss Nanc6 is young, she won’t have any problem conceiving again.”

Kai didn’t seem to be hearing what the doctor was saying.

All that reverberated in his ears was the word “miscarriage.”

How did Nancy have a miscarriage?

She wasn’t even pregnant, was she?

Didn’t Zhao Xing say that the pregnancy report was fake?

That she wasn’t even pregnant?

But if she wasn’t, how could she have had a miscarriage?

He’d thought she was faking it, so he didn’t quite bother about it.

He even felt disgusted at that point.

He thought she’d lied to him once again.

If he’d rushed her to the hospital right away… if they’d gotten there just a little bit sooner… would they have managed to keep their child?

At this moment, the guilt was overwhelming.

It was he who pushed Nancy to the ground.

He looked up at the doctor, his face a shade paler than before. His voice quivered as he asked, “Doctor, are you sure she had a miscarriage?”

“Mr. Su, we can’t be telling you this without making sure first.” The doctor wasn’t happy with Kai doubting his expertise, but he remained polite because of his status.

Kai closed his eyes for a while, and then punched the wall hard.

The doctor got a shock. “Mr. Kai…”

Kai seemed to be in agony. His voice was hoarse as he told the doctor, “I want to be alone for now. Also, your hospital has already signed the confidentiality agreement. No one can know about this. Otherwise…”

“Mr. Kai, please do not worry. We have our work ethics.”

The doctor quickly took his leave.

Kai stood in the hallway alone for over 10 minutes and then made a call to Mother Kim.

When she picked up, he greeted hoarsely, “Mom.”

Mother Kim detected something wrong right away. She was concerned. “Kai, did something happen?”

Kai closed his eyes. “Nancy is hospitalized.”

Mother Kim kept quiet for a few seconds before asking a little suspiciously, “She was fine. Why is she hospitalized all of a sudden?”

“Didn’t you say she could’ve been lying to me?” Still in pain, Kai vented his anger and indignance on Mother Kim. “So, I sent someone to get it checked.”

Mother Kim hesitated before asking, “Kai… what exactly happened? Are you at the hospital now? Do you need Dad and me to come over?”

Kai did not answer her question. Instead, he gripped his phone tightly and asked in a cold, accusatory tone, “Mom, did you get the hospital to lie about it when I sent someone to investigate?

“You didn’t want Nancy to marry into our family, so you set all this up to plot against her, right? Are you happy now? Nancy had a miscarriage. Now she really doesn’t have a baby anymore. You got what you wanted.”

“Kai, w-what are you saying?” Mother Kim sounded shocked. “You said Nancy had a miscarriage?”

Kai snorted. “Yes, she had a miscarriage. Are you happy now?”

“W-What are you saying. Why would I be happy about her miscarriage? Her baby is my grandchild, after all. I really didn’t think she was pregnant. How could it be…”

“So now you’re willing to acknowledge her baby as your grandchild? Mom, I’m telling you, you’ve got a part to play in this baby’s death. You can’t shirk this responsibility.”

“What responsibility could I have?” Mother Kim was getting angry at his tone and attitude towards her.

“Kai, what sort of attitude is this. You’re blaming me now? What has Nancy’s miscarriage got to do with me? Did I cause her miscarriage?

“Even if you’re in a bad mood, you can’t spout nonsense like this. I admit that I don’t like her, and I don’t approve of you being together. But listen here, her miscarriage has nothing to do with me.

“Since you got together with her because of the baby, there’s no need to take any responsibility and marry her now that the child is gone. To be honest, the miscarriage might not be all bad. Although the child is innocent, she’s been carrying him for less than two months. Don’t you tell me about how close you can be with the child at this point.”

Mother Kim was very direct, and she didn’t bother saving face for Kai. “You’re my biological child, don’t you think I know you well enough? This girl isn’t decent. Back when you were still with Jennie, she was already trying all means and ways to seduce you. She couldn’t even care less about her sisterhood with Jennie. She’s practically shameless. As for her pregnancy, I’m sure this was all part of her scheme to take her sister’s place. I guess she succeeded in her plot.

“Kai, listen to Mom, this scheming woman is not suitable for you. You can take this opportunity to break up with her. Uncle Chen’s second daughter just returned from overseas. Mom has seen her once, she’s beautiful and charismatic, and she’s an artist. She’s way better than the woman you’re with.

“You’d better get rid of that woman as soon as possible. Come home during the weekend, I’ll get Uncle Chen and his daughter to come over for a meal.”

Kai was furious. “Mom, I don’t have the mood to go for a blind date with another woman.”

“It’s not a blind date, it’s just having a meal together. That girl is really beautiful. Although not as outstanding as Jennie, she’s already pretty good-looking. You’ll surely like her.”

Kai’s expression changed slightly when Mother Kim mentioned Jennie out of nowhere.

Mother Kim was still nagging on. “In any case, you have to come home this weekend. Your dad and I…”

A moment later.

Kai hung up.

He made this call to interrogate Mother Kim.

Because he felt that it was his mother’s arrangement for Zhao Xing to obtain false information from the doctor.

Mother Kim simply wanted him to break up with Nancy.

Kai was enraged when he made that speculation.

Even though he didn’t have many feelings for Nancy, the child she was carrying was his flesh and blood, after all.

He couldn’t possibly feel nothing after losing his child.

But Mother Kim did know him very well.

It was Nancy who carried the baby, and it had been less than two months. As the father, Kai didn’t have much attachment to this unborn child.

If it was Jennie who was expecting their children, he’d surely be very happy and excited about the baby’s arrival.

He and Jennie were both good-looking. No matter who the child took after, it’d turn out well.

If the child looked like Jennie, that’d be even better.

But it was Nancy who was pregnant.

He didn’t feel much joy as a father. A lot of it was just a sense of responsibility.

Now that the baby was gone, he didn’t feel so burdened by the sense of responsibility anymore.

What was left was guilt and self-reproach.

If he hadn’t pushed her, Nancy wouldn’t have fallen to the ground, and she wouldn’t have suffered a miscarriage.

Kai was very clear about one thing.

Whether or not Mother Kim got someone to lie to him, he couldn’t possibly fall out with his biological mother. He’d always been a filial son, and he would continue to be one.

Moreover, Nancy wasn’t important enough to him to warrant such a huge change.

Between Mother Kim and Nancy, he was clear who meant more.

Kai stood outside for a while more and saw Nancy’s new manager walking towards him.

The new manager was called Huo Lin.

Huo Lin stopped before him and greeted, “Chairman Kai.”

Kai nodded in acknowledgment.

Huo Lin looked into the ward and hesitated. “Miss Namcy…”

Kai narrowed his eyes. “Isn’t conscious yet. What is it?”

He didn’t mention the miscarriage.

But several people saw Nancy bleeding from between her legs and would possibly speculate.

Huo Lin saw that Kai wasn’t intending to bring it up and hence did not probe further. She was here for other reasons, anyway.

Not to visit Nancy.

“Chairman Kai, are we not going to handle the news of Miss Nancy on Weibo? It’s already the top search online. If this goes on, Miss Nancy's reputation is going to be very badly affected. She signed the contracts for a few upcoming commercials. If this isn’t cleared up in time, the brands might drop her.

“If that happens, we’d be the one to have to pay the compensation fees.”

The contracts always included a clause that said the brands had the right to drop the artistes if they were involved in any forms of negative news that might adversely affect the brands’ image. When that happened, the artistes would have to bear the compensation costs.

The brands that Nancy signed contracts with were not particularly big ones.

But if every one of them required compensation, it’d be a huge sum.

Kai hadn’t intended to settle this since he had thought that Nancy lied to him.

He didn’t think of clearing Nancy’s name for her.

He even thought of letting Nancy’s career go down the drain just like that.

But now that he was full of guilt, he felt that he had to do something to make it up to her.

He thought about it for a while before saying to Huo Lin seriously, “Issue a public declaration saying that the person behind the post is Linda. Linda took the opportunity to send the post to the forum when Nancy wasn’t aware. When the company found out, we fired Linda right away.”

Huo Lin’s expression changed when she heard that.

She and Linda were on pretty good terms.

They were both top-tier managers of the company.

She already knew that Kai fired Linda because of Nancy, but she never expected him to make Linda the scapegoat.

He was too much.

In any case, Linda was a long-time employee of Star Splendor, and she’d made a huge contribution to the firm.

To kick someone to the curb when they’d outlived their usefulness, Chairman Kai was being despicable.

And too cold-hearted to believe.

At that moment, she felt shocked and disappointed.

Even a good employee like Linda could be fired and made the scapegoat as he wished.

Not to mention others.

This newly-appointed Chairman Kai was pretty heartless.

Huo Lin decided to try and find other means to settle this, but she couldn’t reveal her intentions. She simply nodded and said, “Yes, Chairman Kai. I got it. As for the other posts…”

“For those without evidence, just claim that they’re rumors. Get the lawyer to sue the person who made the post.”

Kai was very sure that the person behind the post couldn’t possibly have evidence of him having an affair with Nancy.

If they did, they’d have revealed it already.

So, he actually only had one issue to settle at this point. Everything else didn’t matter.

Xie Linda’s dismissal happened to clash with this news.

It was fitting to have her bear the responsibility for all that happened.

He caused Nancy’s miscarriage. The child was never going to return.

The only thing he could do now was to make it up to her.

“Yes, Chairman Kai. I’ll head back to the office and settle this immediately. Miss Nancy has a commercial to shoot two days from now. We’ll let them know that Miss Nancy is currently unwell and in need of rest, so she won’t be able to turn up?”

“Mm.” Kai nodded. “That will do.”

“So, she will be resting for…”

Kai thought about the duration he should set. Nancy’s miscarriage was a major issue, her body was definitely weakened in the process.

She needed to recuperate well.

“Don’t take up any assignments for her for the rest of the month.”

“Yes, Chairman Kai.”

Huo Lin was about to leave once she got his instructions.

But she saw that Kai turned around and appeared to be leaving too.

She was slightly stunned and asked, “Chairman Kai, you’re leaving?”

Kai kept quiet for a few seconds before letting out a soft “mm”.

Huo Lin turned around and glanced at Nancy’s ward. She hesitated for a while before asking tentatively, “You’re not going to wait for Miss Qiao Nancy wake up?”

Everyone in Star Splendor knew that Kai cared a lot about Nancy.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have fired Linda, a top-tier manager, just because of her.

But the way he was acting now seemed uncharacteristic of him.

His girlfriend was lying in a hospital bed and hadn’t regained consciousness yet. He was leaving instead of keeping her company?

Kai froze for a while but quickly strode off. “No need.”

Nancy was definitely going to pick a fight with him when she found out that she had a miscarriage.

He didn’t want to face it.

In fact, he was also afraid that she would guilt-trip him with her miscarriage and force him to marry her right away.

He already had some thoughts after his call with Mother Kim.

Mother Kim was right. He was with Nancy only because of the child.

Now that the child was gone, he didn’t have to take responsibility for her anymore.

It really was time for him to re-evaluate his relationship and future with Nancy.

Twinkling Moonlight.

One of Yuncheng City’s most classy and luxurious clubhouses.

A place where rich young men patronized every so often.

It was also a favorite spot for the high society heirs like Seunghoon and Mino.

Private VIP Room 888 in Twinkling Moonlight was permanently set aside for the richest and most powerful men in Yuncheng City. Even if they weren’t around, the private room was not to be occupied by anyone else.

That was because Twinkling Moonlight was opened by the Song family.

As the only heir of the Song family, Young Master Mino was practically the boss around here.

The doors of the private room were somewhat masked.

Seunghoon entered with a young model in his arms, only to see Mino gently comforting a weeping Krystal.

He was dabbing Krystal’s tears off with his handkerchief so tenderly.

His cautiousness and attentiveness almost blinded Seunghoon.

Even the model in his arms was shocked by Mino’s actions.

Mino was rather well-known in Yuncheng City.

Practically all the female celebrities and young models in the entertainment industry knew him and Seunghoon.

These two men weren’t just rich and powerful, they were also good-looking and generous.

They were a different league from the grimy old men.

Too many celebrities were dying to get into their good books.

The girls enjoyed the process of serving them and earning money at the same time. This was way better compared to serving those old and dirty men.

The model was aware that Mino was quite peculiar. He wasn’t known to be a gentle person, so she was shocked by what she saw.

Was this… the legendary Young Master Song that would chase people away at the drop of a hat?

He seemed… so gentle.

Seunghoon smiled as he realized what she was thinking of. He then raised her chin and said smilingly, “Hey cutie, don’t be confused by this facade.”

“But Young Master Song was so nice to that lady…”

“That isn’t any lady,” Seunghoon said as his eyes narrowed. He walked towards them while holding the model in his arms and said, “Young Lady Krystal basically grew up with us. How can other ladies be compared to her?

“She’s the only person that Young Master Song would treat this way.”

“She’s the Young Lady Krystal?” The model’s eyes widened in shock.

“Yup, let’s go say hi to them.”

Seunghoon continued to caress the model’s waist as he held her while they walked towards Mino and Krystal. He then said playfully, “Miss Krystal, what happened? Did Fourth Bro bully you while I was away?”

As she heard his voice, Krystal stopped crying and raised her head.

Her eyes were swollen from her prolonged crying. She was a strong-headed lady normally. But now, obvious tears stained her face.

She looked really pitiful.

Krystal wiped away her tears using a handkerchief from Mino. When she noticed the model in Seunghoon’s arms, she gave him a look of disdain.

She then continued disdainfully, “Do you think that Mino is like you who always makes me angry? Anyway, didn’t we agree that this was a private meeting? Why is she here?”

Krystal was a proud woman.

She despised the girls who were always hanging around Seunghoon.

She refused to have anything to do with them.

These girls were a joke to her.

They didn’t even qualify to hang out with her.

The model froze as she felt Krystal’s disdain towards her. She bit on her lip and whined. “Young Master Seunghoon…”

Her voice was soft, just the kind that men would like.

Krystal despised her even more.

She wasn’t planning to pull her punching and continued coldly, “Seunghoon, stop messing around and send her off already. You can get any girl you want at any time, why must you bring her here now? Why did you bring an unrelated person?”

Everyone was shocked by what Krystal said.

The model felt wronged, and her eyes teared up. But she couldn’t defend herself.

She was aware of how powerful Young Lady Krystal was.

She wasn’t someone that she could offend.

The model already knew that she was just an object of desire for these rich and powerful people. But Krystal was being too aggressive, and she almost couldn’t control her emotions.

She started to tear up and fought hard to control her tears.

Mino and Seunghoon were surprised by Krystal’s words.

This wasn’t the first time Seunghoon brought his girls to their night out.

Even though Krystal never liked those girls, this was the first time she expressed her unhappiness so openly.

Mino was shocked the most.

He glanced at Krystal puzzledly.

Krystal was always a gentle and thoughtful woman in his eyes.

Her family also taught her how to behave well. She would have never done such things to anyone no matter how much she disliked them.

But she just…

For a short moment, Mino couldn’t recognize the Krystal in front of him.

After a moment of silence, Seunghoon smiled, reverted back to his normal jovial manner, and said, “What’s the matter with you, Krystal? Why are you so angry? I have brought girls along during our previous outings. Why can’t I do it today?

“This little girl is really timid. You will frighten her like this.”

When he finished speaking, he lowered his head to glance at the model. He pinched her cheeks and said smilingly, “Don’t worry too much. Sister Krystal isn’t like this normally. She must have had a bad day. Didn’t you say that you wanted to buy something just now? Go on a shopping trip. I’ll call you later, alright?”

After he spoke, Seunghoon took out his credit card, passed it to the model, and said, “Buy anything you want, it’s my early birthday present for you.”

The sad look on the model’s face turned into a smile when she saw the card that he was passing to her.

She took over the card and kissed him immediately. She then said softly, “Thanks, Young Master Seunghoon. You’re the best. I’ll go shop around, then?”

Seunghoon pinched her face again, nodded, and replied smilingly, “Go on, don’t worry about the money.”

The smile on the model’s face grew wider.

It was as though she was going to pin him to the ground and keep kissing him.

He was definitely like what the others said. He was really generous, especially towards the ladies.

He was completely different from the dirty stingy old man she was serving previously.

Not only was he rich and generous, but he was also handsome with a hot body as well.

She also heard that he was really good in bed.

The ladies who spent a night with him only had good comments regarding his skills. He was said to be the best out of all the sugar daddies.

She would be really happy to sleep with him.

The model took a long look at his handsome face and decided on the spot. She must be in his good books.

After she took the card, she left the place happily.

She was probably too excited over the shopping trip because she said goodbye to Krystal, causing her to frown more.

After the model left.

Seunghoon started to unbutton his shirt. His neck was exposed, and the hickies on his collar came into view.

Krystal noticed it and scoffed. “Aren’t you afraid of getting STDs? How can you just sleep with everyone.”

“Young Lady Krustal, I don’t think I’ve messed with you today,” Seunghoon said as he sat next to Mino. He then adjusted to a comfortable position and continued, “Why are you so angry today? Who messed with you?”

He then turned to Mino and asked lazily, “Fourth Bro, did you mess with her?”

Mino bit his lip and glared at him.

“It wasn’t you?” Seunghoon asked, raising his eyebrows. “It wasn’t me, either. I wonder who could it be?”

Seunghoon already knew the answer to his own question.

The only person who could bring Krystal to tears was Lisa.

They were definitely incapable of doing so.

But he had to pretend that he didn’t know anything.

He didn’t know how to console her after finding out.

He already said everything that he had to say.

If she had listened to his advice, she wouldn’t be like this now.

However, if she wasn’t willing to take his advice at all, she would go down the same path regardless of what he said.

Seunghoon felt that Krystal did not have to go through all these.

Everyone knew that she was in love with Lisa from a young age.

But Lisa didn’t share the same sentiments for her.

Even though Lisa acted coldly to everyone, he would have confessed his feelings, if he had any, for Krystal a long time ago.

He wasn’t one to bottle up his feelings and not say anything for years.

It was obvious from how he treated Jennie now.

He would be the one to take the initiative in the relationship.

He acted coldly towards everyone all these years because he hadn’t met anyone he liked.

Now that he had met someone he liked, he would be the one taking the initiative all the time.

Even if Lisa wasn’t going to marry Jennie, the next person in line wouldn’t be Krystal either.

It was a simple fact that everyone could understand. Krystal must have understood as well.

Yet, she…

“Krystal, you can tell Fourth Bro and I if you are wronged in any way. We have known each other for so long already. If there’s anyone who dares to bully you, tell us and we will help you.”

Krystal bit her lip and held tightly to a pillow next to her.

She kept silent for a moment with a difficult look on her face before replying with a husky voice, “It’s not that important, let’s not talk about it.”

“Stop crying, then,” Seunghoon replied as he looked at her. “If we’re coming out to play, we should be having fun. Don’t let other things affect our mood.

“And you…”

Seunghoon frowned as he asked Mino, “You’re arguing with Second Bro again? Fourth Bro, I really don’t want to scold you, but what are you thinking of? Do you want to cut off our kinship?”

Mino and Seunghoon were close.

He was aware of quite some things.

Lisa was cold and impatient. Hence, Mino would always approach Seunghoon if he had issues.

But after knowing that Mino argued with Lisa two times already, Seunghoon was speechless.

He couldn’t understand Mino’s behavior.

Mino bit his lip and frowned. After he went silent for a while, he replied coldly, “Of course not.”

They had been brothers for ten over years.

How could he just cut it off just like that?

He only said all that at the heat of the moment.

“So you…” Seunghoon sighed and continued, “If you value this kinship, you need to change your attitude.”

Seunghoon wasn’t being direct.

But everyone knew that he was referring to Mino’s attitude towards Jennie.

He wasn’t sure why.

But when he thought about Jennie, he couldn’t help but have some weird feelings.

He recalled the previous time that he met her in the mall. She felt familiar to him.

Especially her fragrance.
