Chapter 28 (This is double happiness)
Tingyu is the happiest man on earth as she got his beloved and also their son back and best of all, got rid of the second room which is so demanding and giving him a headache as he has no love for her and never touched her at all.
The second room is now being restrained and in jail, the happy family is united and Mdm Yi couldn't help but kowtow so many times and even know how to joke now
"You are the best little Justice Pao..." Mdm Yi thumbed up for Lan Zhan and everyone agreed.
Mdm Yi is now carrying her beloved baby, the joy on her face cannot be disguised. They are like the spring flower blooming in the Orchard Garden.
Old Mdm Wang very quickly repented herself and also as an elderly person, they usually don't apologize to the younger generation, however, Mdm Wang knew that she had gone too far.
She looks at the warm daughter-in-law and in front of everyone, she bows her head and speaks softly and lowly
"It is all this old lady who is muddleheaded and stupid that causes you so much pain"
"I apologize," Old Wang Told Mdm Yi
Tears were welling up for Mdm Yi, Old Mdm Wang comes from a wealthy family as well and has been handling the household expenses with maids and purchases, almost like running a company because they are a wealthy family that trades on all the silk material in the province and even provide the best to the palace. It is an old traditional name and has been around for hundred years and no one doesn't know the Wang family trade.
To get old Mdm Wang to apologize is like picking stars in the sky and she did because this time round old Mdm Wang felt that she has lost her sight and sided with the second room who is so vicious as to kill her own grandson just to be the first wife of Tingyu, her only son.
"Mother, please don't say that...."
"I am just happy that you accept me as your daughter-in-law" Mdm Yi comes from an old scholar family and respecting the eldest and taking care of the elderly has been engraved in her blood and bones.
Old Mdm Wang quickly nods her head and agreed
"Yes, definitely welcome you as my daughter-in-law, and you forgive this old lady and I really wish to hand over the household account to you soon..." Old Mdm Wang told Mdm Yi
"Huh..." Mdm Yi was surprised to the core, this is true recognization of status in the family, holding the household account means she will be recognized as the rightful wife of Tingyu and without her permission, Tingyu cannot get a second room at all even though he will not.
This is a big deal in ancient times, anyone and anything inside the household is managed and handled by Mdm Yi now and not Tingyu, Tingyu is to manage the business while Mdm Yi will manage the internal household affairs.
There was joy all over Tingyu's face, and his beloved wife has been finally approved by his mother of course the father has no problem after seeing how his beloved grandson almost got killed.
The old man Wang also felt that his wife has finally been enlightened and he was very happy even though they were an old couple, he could help but side hugged his wife and show her a sweet smile of understanding.
Tingyu immediately hugged the wife and child, feeling really satisfied and the whole family turned around again to thank the team of four and the governor and even offered to donate some money to aid the poor during the river flood.
The Wang Family wanted to bid farewell to the governor and the team and suddenly, there was a family group came from outside into the courtroom and there were joyful moments and weeping moments as well.
Mdm Yi was shocked and passed the baby to Tingyu.
"Mother, father, why are you here?" Mdm Yi's family is here and they seem a little angry
"We heard from the street that they drove you away and we wanted to come and bring you home" the father of Mdm Yi was still glaring at them with anger.
Before Mdm Yi could speak, old Mdm Yi speaks first
"We will always be family and we don't care what others talked about us" The mother's heart is the greatest and she will never allow her daughter to suffer many grievances.
This kind of scene is rare in ancient times when families actually do not care much for themselves but for family members because reputation is sometimes what the family lives for. This is especially so when Father Yi is an academic teacher in the community which means that he could lose his job. However, to them, they value more their daughter which is really amazing.
The two young sisters were also crying and approaching Mdm Yi and hugging her
"Sister, did they bully you?"
"We will take you home" The two younger sisters were actually very close to Mdm Yi as she took great care of them, thus, when they heard about their sister's situation, being chased out by the Wang family.
The Yi family are all here and want to take their sister home which panics Tingyu as he thought he just got his beloved wife and now she is being taken away.
"Father-in-law, Mother-in-law, it was all misunderstanding and all my fault...." Old Mdm Wang stands up bravely and told them.
"I have eyes but no eyeballs and fall into my son's second room lies and I thank the heaven that has eyes that open mine so that I can still keep this good and mature daughter-in-law for my son," Old Mdm Wang told them.
The Yi family big and small were shocked by the Old Mdm Wang's revelation as everyone knew that this Old Mdm Wang is one that is a tough nut to crack but looking at her now, with begging eyes and full of aggrieves making the whole Yi family hard to find fault with her.
Old Father Yi is a scholar and he is full of understanding
"Ahem, is there no one that has fault....." Old Father Yi speaks.
"We all have faults but the greatest is that we recognized it and change, this is the courage that we admired" Old Father Yi bow to Old Mdm Wang for her courage.
Lan Zhan and Wei Ying look at how the family respects each other and is full of praise for them.
Lan Zhan likes the crowd very much and he hurried comes forward and even pulls Wei Ying along
"Heh heh, it is a good occasion as the family is united and also the Yi family shows that nothing is more important than family love..."
"So great....."
"Let's all have a wonderful meal together for both families and enjoy yourselves," Lan Zhan told them and Wei Ying nods his head, his little ger is cute and cute, full of fun.
The two families suddenly turn around and all bow to them and the governor,
"You are the saviors of both of our families....."
"May we humbly invite you all to come to our humble home for a feast, the governor if you can give face, please come as well" The Old Master Wang told everyone.
Lan Zhan and Wei Ying look at each other, and also at the governor, and then the three of them are sitting at the higher stage and so they have a small discussion among themselves
"Mmmm.....I feel like that it is better for the two families to enjoy themselves more casually..." Lan Zhan mumbles and of course, Wei Ying joins in
"Mmmm...yeah, with us, they might feel obligated...." Wei Ying adds in
The governor bows and he only listens to them
"Yes, you both are right..." the governor told them and just when he was about to speak, Lan Zhan stopped him
"What is the rank of Old Father Yi in the educational school?" Lan Zhan asked
"Oh, he is a senior lecturer...." the governor told them
Lan Zhan frowns and then told the governor
"Promote him to the supervisory level, which is about an official level"
"Increased his pay, he is a righteous man....." Lan Zhan told the governor
Wei Ying truly loves his little ger who would always want to do good wherever, whatever he could
"Mmmm...good thought..." Wei Ying praises his ger with affectionate eyes.
The governor immediately agreed, as this man, Old Father Yi almost sacrifice his family name to come and take back their daughter. In ancient times, the whole family can be ostracized by the whole town if they have a married daughter returning home to leave with them, especially one who has been chased out by the married husband's family, this is really taboo.
However, Father Yi does not care about these at all, he knew his daughter and loves his daughter and so are the family, they will never allow their beloved daughter to be without support and left alone in the world. They came in trot to support and take back their daughter despite the consequences. This truly showed courage and not many men are like him, family is important and with family then you can do well for the nation. This is in ancient teachings and Lan Zhan is remembered well as an ancient self because he has gone through all these studies as a royal blood and so is Wei Ying.
Lan Zhan asked the governor to do the announcement and in order to do so, Lan Zhan wrote a letter and use his stamp which he kept with Xiao Yuan to stamp it. On the stamp, there is a "LAN" stamp. All governmental offices recognized this from the royal family and immediately the governor bowed and accept the letter with the stamp and then make a loud announcement.
The two families are now happily talking and chatting and even take turns carrying the baby who is the grandson of both families.
This is especially the two younger sisters of the Yi family who are actually fighting to carry the baby
"You already carry for more than ten minutes and now it is my turn..." the older told the younger sister.
The younger sister gave a tongue out but still pass the baby to the older sister.
Both older members of the families look at them and laugh at them, and Mdm Yi is so happy now that she is not thinking of dying anymore but still manages to tease her sisters
"You like it so much...."
"In two years' time, you are of marriageable age, you can have your own..." Mdm Yi told her older sister.
The older sister immediately brushed and gave the baby back to Mdm Yi
"Nah, I don't want anymore, so don't tease me..." the older sister told Mdm Yi.
Tingyu is in happy mood and even joins in the teasing
"Hey, as your brother-in-law, I will look out for a good and handsome man for you..."
"Don't worry, this will be on your brother-in-law..." Tingyu told the older sister
Old Mdm Wang joins in the fun and giggles
"When did you open a matchmaker agency?" tease her own son, full of joy.
The older sister is dripping red blood from brushing her face.
Mdm Yi laughs and even told her husband
"She indeed needs a good and strong husband..." Mdm Yi laughs happily.
The whole two families are chatting casually, you speak one word, and I join in one word, full of fun and happy moments, they are like old friends meeting each other, there is no status quote at all. They respect each other like good friends.
The governor is indeed happy to announce this good news
"Hey, listen, everyone, I have good news.." The governor told them and the two families stare at each other and wonder what other good news could they have, they have the baby and the family is united.
However, the governor is an official and everyone stands in order, the older ones are in front with the men all standing in front. Both the two families' elderly men, the Yi, and the Wang old men are standing in front, representing the families. Then in the middle of them is Tingyu as he is the only second-generation male.
Following behind are the two elderly women and Mdm Yi standing in between them, follow on by the two younger sisters standing just behind the two elderly women.
To receive news from the governor is a big deal, it is a representation of the Emperor in a smaller way, and thus, the order of standing is important to receive the news.
The governor is holding the paper written by Lan Zhan and with the stamp, it is recognized as an official promotion.
"The province like to announce that Old Scholar Yi has been promoted to the supervisory level as of now..." there were some noises very lightly due to shock but they must remain silent till all is over.
"Also, this is an official level and thus from now on, the family has been raised to an official level of education, to continue to do the good work of educating our future leaders and also to continue to teach righteously" The governor then continue
"You will have an increment in pay equivalent to that of an official with immediate effect" the governor announced and then he finished the announcement and they all raised and then they are relaxed.
The two younger sisters scream softly for they dare not be loud in front of the governor and the distinguished guests.
"Wow....father got a promotion....." the two sisters hug their father and even Mdm Yi joins in with tears in her eyes, they all knew how hard the father work and finally he got the recognition.
Old Father Yi is a little stunned and dazed, it is like heaven suddenly opens the floodgates of good wishes and he immediately turns towards the sky and kowtows to thank the heaven
"Thank you, Heaven.." the family follows as well.
Then, they all turned to thank the governor and especially Lan Zhan for they kind of knew that this is due to Lan Zhan as he display such importance in the governor's house.
"We don't know what to say..." Mdm Yi is in tears due to joy and Tingyu is consoling his dear wife.
Lan Zhan giggles as he is young and enjoys happy moments with these families.
"Just continue the good work...." Lan Zhan told Old Father Yi who nods his head non-stop and if continued might be dropped off anytime.
Xing saw everything and he also have more admiration for this little ger and now he knew why his young master fall head over heels for this beauty in and out.
Lan Zhan then told them
"This is a double happiness...."
"You all should celebrate...."
