After the events of Neo Metal Sonic and everyone saying their goodbyes, Gotuce is seen flying towards Spiral Hill Village to visit Tangle.
Tangle: C'mon everyone! It's a gorgeous day! Race ya around the village! Anyone! Everyone!
Gotuce: Hey Tangle!
Tangle looks at Gotuce descending.
Tangle: Gotuce! It's so good to see you!
Tangle whips her tail around Gotuce and brings him in for a hug.
Gotuce: Heh. Yep.
Tangle lets go.
Tangle: What brings you to Spiral Hill Village?
Gotuce: Oh I just decided to come visit the town that was in previous shamble. No one got hurt when I blasted the giant badnik out of the sky?
Tangle: Oh no one did but it was awesome!
Gotuce: That's good to know.
Jewel: Tangle!
Tangle: Hey-Hey Jewel! About time you got out of that stuffy ol museum!
Jewel: Because you nearly knocked over my sign off the door, and your going to run into somebody.
Tangle: Pssht! I've been flinging myself around these streets since we were little! I know every rooftop, alley, and street corner like the back of my hand-
With that, Tangle accidentally flings herself to a chilidog stand and dents it.
Gotuce: Tangle, are you okay!
Tangle: Yeah, I'm dandy.

In Jewel Mineral Museum
Gotuce is seen eating an absurd amount of food while Tangle and Jewel watch in shock.
Gotuce stops and looks at them.
Gotuce: What?
Tangle: What do you mean what! Look at how much your eating!
Gotuce: So?
Jewel: Aren't going to get a stomach ache from the way your eating.
Gotuce: No? Oh! Right I never mentioned that I'm not front his world.
Both Tangle and Jewel fall comically and get up before asking several questions.
Tangle and Jewel: You're not from this world!?
Gotuce: Yep.
Tangle: Where did you come from!
Gotuce: I came from a place just outside of space and time called the Time Nest.
Jewel: Okay? And what is this "Time Nest"?
Gotuce: Well it's a place where it's my job to correct time anomalies in my or should I say universes timeline.
Then everyone hears a crash outside.
Tangle: We'll check it out! Come on Gotuce!
Tangle and Gotuce head out and see sonic run past them.
Tangle: Sonic under attack?
Whisper is close by blasting at Sonic.
Tangle: Sonic under attack from Whisper!?
Gotuce: What is going o—
Gotuce stops and sense the malicious intent in Sonic.
Gotuce: Hmm.
Sonic evades her attacks and jumps onto a mobians head before heading into an alleyway.
Whisper follows through.
Tangle: Whisper! Wait! What are you—!?
Whisper uses her hover wisp to get onto a rooftop and position herself to take out Sonic.
But he notices this and chats up to a mobian to cover the sights once he finishes, he heads into another alley and makes sure the coast is clear.
Tangle appears.
Tangle: Sonic—Stop! What is going on! Are you sick? Why is Whisper shooting at you!? I have so many questions!
Sonic sees this as an opportunity.
Sonic: Oh! I'm so glad I found you! Eggman put a mind control chop in Whispers mask!
Tangle: No way!
Sonic: She's on the warpath! But I can't bring myself to hurt her.
Tangle: I get'cha. Maybe I can get through to her.
Sonic: Shes very dangerous. Take her down, first. Ask questions later.
Tangle: You got it! Take a breather. I've got it from here.
Tangle uses her tail to climb the building to the rooftop.
Whisper sees Sonic on her sights but he turns to face her with black eyes and white iresis while giving a grimace smile.
Whisper: 'Why....'?
She is then tackled by Tangle.
Tangle: I'm sorry!
As they are fighting, Gotuce is hovering in the air, keeping an eye on Sonic's Ki signature.
Tangle manages to get Whispers mask off.
Tangle: Whoo Hoo! I saved the day!
Whisper gives Tangle an angry look.
Whisper: 'Give it back.'
Tangle: Not a chance! Eggman booby—trapped it!
Whisper: 'He did not.'
Tangle: Then why were you trying to shoot sonic?
Whisper: 'That's not Sonic.'
Gotuce floats down in front of them.
Gotuce: She's right. It isn't him. I can sense the malicious intent off of him.
Tangle: That....What? No!
Gotuce: Also he left.
Tangle: I know you're not the talkative sort. But can you please tell me what's going on!?
Whisper messes with her makes and puts on Tangle's face.
Whisper: 'Here. Watch.'
It begins a recording of Sonic talking with Whisper before he pulls a knife and his eyes become black with white iresis.
Tangle: Gyahhhh!
Tangle: Who was that!
Whisper: 'Not here. Exposed'
Tangle: I know where we can go.

Back in Jewels museum.
Jewel: I'm afraid I'm as lost as Tangle. For once I looked out the window and it certainly looked like sonic
Whisper: 'His name is Mimic. He shape shifts.
Jewel: You mean.... He can transform how he looks at will? That sounds a little far-fetched.
Tangle: But you're fine with the hedgehog who can run at mach one for funnies?
Jewel: Yes well....
Gotuce: There's also the literal cat who can use the power that can rival a god of destruction.
Jewel: G-God of d-destruction?
Gotuce: Yep. Although Super Saiyan God although isn't my strongest God form.
Tangle: Anyways, back on topic.
Whisper: 'Hes a mercenary. Betrayed his team. He helped Eggman wipe them out. Took sonics form and started causing trouble.'
Whisper pulls out three photos showing the fake sonic causing minor inconveniences with mobians.
Whisper: 'Went to investigate. Found it was him. Been tracking him. Knew he'd likely target you and Gotuce—and the others too.'
Tangle: Wow. You're awesome looking out for all of us!
Whisper: 'Mm. Was looking for Mimic anyways.'
Jewel: Well that certainly sounds like a call to action.
Tangle: Who does the what now?
Gotuce: Ive heard that you've been looking for a reason to go out in the world and seek adventure, right? Helping out one of your friends track down and deafey villans sounds like the perfect excuse to me.
Tangle: Hey—yeah! Tangle and Whisper! Kicking butts together again! Heck, even Gotuce can join!
Gotuce: What does that mean?
Tangle: Heh! Heh! Nothing!
Everyone talk for a while until a think can be heard. Whisper is the first to get up and have her wispon ready, while Gotuce goes on the defense.
Everyone gets out and sees a note stuck to a knife.
Tangle: What was that?
Whisper: 'An invitation.'
Tangle makes a scowl.
Tangle: So, he wants a showdown, already? Fine by me! Saves us the trouble of tracking him down! Brace yourself, Mimic! We're coming for you!
Gotuce gives off a cocky smile behind them while having Mimics ki signature in mind.
