After Esther made her big announcement of wanting to bring her family back together, everyone kind of stood around talking amongst themselves.
I stood in the corner with Nik, his fingers brushing through my hair from behind.
I look up from my feet when I hear someone walking towards us.
"Hello Ivy." Esther greets.
"Hi." I smile, sending her a little wave.
"You are just as beautiful as you were when I first saw you." She compliments.
"You saw her?" Nik asks curiously.
"Yes. When I cast the soulmate spell I had a vision of this lovely young woman." She explains.
"Well, it's great to meet you." I smile.
"You as well my dear. I'm glad Niklaus has found his other half." She says, turning and walking off with Finn following.
"Do you think she liked me?" I whisper, turning myself around to face Nik.
"Of course, angel. I think it might be impossible to dislike you." He responds.
"Tell that to Elena." I snort.
He simply pulls me into a hug in response.
"Sorry to break up this adorable little moment, but I'd like to meet the newest addition to the family." I hear Kol's voice from behind me.
Nik rolls his eyes, reluctantly ending the hug.
"I'm Kol. The best Mikaelson." He introduces, holding his hand out.
"Hi. I'm Ivy." I smile, putting my hand in his.
"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." He smirks, kissing the back of my hand.
"Back off Kol." Nik groans, annoyed.
"I'm just glad you finally showed up. He talked about you almost incessantly. The only good thing about being daggered was finally escaping his constant whining." Kol says.
I giggle as Nik shoots him a glare.

The next morning i woke to the smell of something sweet. I inhaled the aroma, taking in the delicious scent.
I couldn't help but grin as I see Nik walk through the door with a tray holding waffles and bacon.
"Happy birthday, my Angel." He says softly, placing the tray in front of me on the bed.
"How'd you know?" I giggle.
"I have my ways." He smirks, placing a gentle kiss on my lips.
"Thank you, Nik."
"Of course, my love. But you might want to enjoy your peace while you can, Rebekah and Kol are already bugging me about taking you out." He warns.
"I'm going out somewhere?" I ask excitedly.
"It's your birthday! Of course we're going out." He smiles.
"This is so cool! I've never had a proper birthday before." I grin.
"You haven't?" He asks confused.
"Nope. Even when my mom was here. I guess it just wasn't a big deal." I shrug.
"Well don't worry, we'll fix that." He promises. I smile as he puts his arm across my shoulders.

After breakfast, Nik walked me downstairs.
As soon as I stepped into the living room, I was tackled in a tight hug.
"Happy birthday!" Rebekah squeals.
"Rebekah don't break her." Nik grumbles.
"Sorry." She smiles, releasing me from the hug.
"It's okay. And thank you, Bekah." I reply.
"Alright, you've had your turn Bex, now move." Kol orders.
Rebekah glares, but moves anyway.
"Happy birthday, darling." He says, pulling me into a quick hug.
"Thank you Kol." I grin.
"So, how old is my new best friend turning?" He asks.
"18." I respond happily.
"Uhh excuse me? She is not your bestfriend." Rebekah says.
"Yes she is." Kol answers simply.
I look at Nik who has his head in his hands.
"Is not! I met her first." Rebekah retorts.
Before Kol could respond, Elijah speaks up.
"Actually, if we're being honest, I met her first. And I'm pretty sure I'm the favorite."
I chuckle as he pulls me into a hug, whispering "happy birthday."
"Who's your favorite Ivy?" Rebekah asks, not so discreetly pointing at herself.
"Nope. I'm not choosing." I hold my hands up in surrender.
"Wha-" Rebekah begins to complain, only to be cut off by Nik.
"Uh uh, birthday girl's orders."

After that, Nik, Rebekah, Elijah, and Kol took me out to a nice lunch, followed by some shopping and basically any little activity I wanted.
Esther and Finn were out doing something, so it was just the 5 of us.
I didn't think the day could get any better, but when we got home around dinner time, Rebekah covered my eyes and marched me upstairs saying they had a surprise.
After a couple minutes, Kol shouted up that we could come down.
I walked into the dining room to see it all decked out in birthday supplies, and a large pile of presents in the corner.
Tears spring to my eyes as they all shouted happy birthday. "Aww guys. This is amazing!"
I grin as Nik pulls me into a tight hug.
"I hope your birthday has been fun." He whispers in my ear.
"It's been better than I ever could've imagined." I reply happily.
"Come open your presents!" Rebekah calls excitedly.
I smile, allowing her to guide me to the head chair at the table.
She puts a gift in my hands quickly. "This one's from me." She informs.
I open the pretty wrapping, revealing an ice cream maker.
"I love it! Thank you Bekah!" I grin, pulling her into a quick hug.
Next, Elijah handed me his. I pulled four different smelling candles out of the bag.
"They all have little rings inside that you collect when you burn them." He states.
"Oh they're perfect. Thank you Eli." I smile.
He nods, smiling in response.
Then I was given Kol's gift.
I opened it to find a pack of gummy bear earrings in all different colors.
"I was told you like candy and jewelry, so why not combine them?" He explains.
"They're adorable! Thank you Kol." I send him a smile which he returns.
Finally, Nik gave me his present.
He walked out of the room for a moment which thoroughly confused me.
When he returned, I couldn't take my eyes off of the tiny kitten in his arms, wearing a pink bow.
"Oh my god!" I scream, running over and taking the cat in my arms.
"Do you like him?" Nik asks nervously.
"He's perfect. I love him so much Nik thank you!" I respond immediately.
I gently cradle the kitten as it purrs in my arms.

After eating way too much birthday cake I was with Nik in my room, playing with my new kitten that I named Tibbles.
I have no idea why, but he just looked like a Tibbles to me.
"Angel, I have one more present for you. Come with me." Nik announces, standing from the bed.
"Can Tibbles come?" I ask playfully.
"Yes. And I cannot believe you named the poor thing Tibbles." He chuckles.
"Look at this face and tell me you don't immediately think Tibbles." I gasp, walking over to him.
"Sure. Now come along." He chuckles, guiding me out of the room.
I walk down the hall to a room I'd never been in before.
Nik opens the door, revealing a room filled with art supplies, and a huge piano sitting in the middle.
"I thought you might play while I painted sometime." He explains.
"You remembered?" I ask, thinking back to the one time I mentioned it last summer.
"Of course. And I know you get some stage fright so if you want to play by yourself, that's fine as well."
"Aww Nik. This is so sweet! I'd love to play for you sometime." I smile.
He pulls me into a gentle kiss, his hands resting on my waist.
"Happy birthday, Angel."
