Ashton and Okotsu arrived at the waiting room and saw their friends waiting for them. "Hey Ash! Hey Okotsu! That battle was amazing!" King exclaimed. "Yeah! It really had me on the edge of my seat!" Toru said.
"So you and Justin are next, huh? How do you guys feel?" Ashton asked Toru. "I'm really excited! It's always fun being able to battle friends!" Toru said. "Same here. It's a great opportunity to get stronger and build a better friendship between trainers," Justin said. "That's gonna be tough considering we're already close friends!" Toru said, putting his arm around Justin's shoulder.
Suddenly, the intercom came on. "Now that the first battle has concluded, will the two trainers Justin and Toru please make their way to the stadium?" The voice on the intercom asked. Justin and Toru stood up and walked to the gate. "See ya guys! Good luck on your matches!" Ashton said. Justin and Toru both turned and gave Ashton a thumbs up.
They both turned and walked to the Battle Area. The judge walked on stage, as usual. "Hello everyone! Welcome to the second match of the second round! Today we have two trainers from the town of Pallet! Battling today are Justin and Toru! Two childhood friends in an intense battle to compete in the semi finals! I'm sure the two of them are excited to start their battle, so will the two of you please send out your first Pokemon and start the match!" The judge said.
Justin and Toru threw their first PokeBall forward. Justin sent out his Marowak and Toru sent out a Dodrio.
In the waiting room, Ashton, Okotsu, and King were all watching the match. They were really excited to see who would win. "Justin. Toru. Do your best, guys," Ashton said quietly.
"Dodrio, use Drill Peck!" Toru yelled, starting the match. Dodrio ran at Marowak and started pecking it really fast with all of it's beaks. "Marowak, get some distance and throw your bone at it!" Justin shouted. Marowak jumped back and tossed it's bone at Dodrio. The bone hit Dodrio's middle head. "Now use Bone Club!" Justin yelled.
Marowak grabbed it's bone and jumped at Dodrio. It slammed it's bone into Dodrio's middle head, causing it to fall over. "Dodrio, use Tri-Attack!" Toru yelled. Dodrio got up and jumped in the air. Dodrio's heads shot fire, ice, and lightning at Marowak. The attack hit Marowak, sending it sliding back. "Marowak, use Slam!" Justin shouted. Marowak jumped at Dodrio and slammed it's bone into Dodrio's body, causing it to faint.
Toru called Dodrio back to it's Pokeball and grabbed his next one. "Not bad Justin! Are you ready for my next Pokemon! Go Seadra!" Toru yelled, throwing the PokeBall. Seadra came out of it.
"Marowak, use Bone Club again!" Justin said. Marowak ran at Seadra and prepared to swing it's bone at Seadra. "Seadra, dodge and use Dragon Breath!" Toru said. Seadra ducked when Marowak swung it's bone at it and shot a purple flame out of it's mouth. The flame hit Marowak, sending it sliding back. "Now use your Water Ball attack!" Toru shouted.
Seadra charged a ball of water in it's mouth and shot it at Marowak. "Marowak, slice it with your bone!" Justin said. Marowak used it's bone to completely slice the attack in half. "now toss your bone at it!" Justin said. Marowak threw it's bone at Seadra. The bone hit Seadra in the face and bounced back to Marowak. "Seadra, use Hydro Pump!" Toru shouted. Seadra charged a huge beam of water in it's mouth and shot it at Marowak. Marowak was hit by the beam of water and went sliding back.
It slid in front of Justin and fainted. Justin called it's back to it's Pokeball and grabbed another one. " Go Golbat!" Justin shouted, throwing the PokeBall forward. A giant blue bat with purple wings came out.
"Golbat, use Wing Attack!" Justin said. Golbat flapped it's wings and sharp gusts of winds flew at Seadra. The gusts of wind hit Seadra, cutting it all over it's body. "Seadra, use Dragon Breath again!" Toru shouted. Seadra shot a ball of purple flames at Golbat. Golbat was hit by the attack and was sent crashing into the ground. "Goldbat, get back up and use Toxic!" Justin said.
Golbat flew back into the air and a stream of purple acid at Seadra. The acid hit Seadra, causing it to feel sick and weak and fall to the ground. Seadra tried to keep fighting, but couldn't and fainted. Toru called it back and threw his next PokeBall forward. "Go Raichu!" Toru said. Raichu came out and crackled with electricity.
"A Raichu, huh? He has a lot of unexpected Pokemon under his belt, huh," Ashton said to King and Okotsu. King nodded in agreement.
"Raichu, use Thunderbolt!" Toru said. Raichu covered it's body in lightning and shot a huge bolt of lightning at Golbat. Golbat was hit by the lightning attack and fell to the ground. "Golbat, get up and use Bite!" Justin said. Golbat got up again and flew at Raichu. Golbat chomped down on Raichu's arm, causing it to scream in pain. It covered it's body in lightning, shocking Golbat in the process.
Golbat let go and flew back into the air. "Raichu, use your tail to get close and use Thundershock!" Toru said. Raichu slammed it's tail Into the ground, sending it flying into the air towards Golbat. Raichu covered it's body in electricity and shot a bolt at Golbat.
Golbat fell out of the sky and crashed into the ground and Raichu landed next to Toru. Golbat fainted. Justin called it back to it's Pokeball and prepared another one. "Go Onix!" Justin said, throwing it forward. Onix came out and roared.
"Onix, use Steel Tail!" Justin said. Onix hardened it's tail and slammed it into Raichu, sending it rolling back. "Raichu, use Electro Ball!" Toru shouted. Raichu made a ball of electricity with it's tail and threw it at Onix. Onix simply moved out of the way of the attack.
"Onix, use Dig!" Justin shouted. Onix looked down and started digging really fast into the ground. Onix was fully in the ground and Raichu didn't know where it was at. Suddenly, Onix burst out of the ground under Raichu and slammed it's head into Raichu, sending the electric type flying into the air. Raichu crashed into the ground next to Toru and fainted.
Toru called it back to it's Pokeball. "You're a lot more stronger than I thought! Go Hitmonchan!" Toru yelled. Toru's Hitmonchan came out.
"Onix, use Rock Throw!" Justin said. Onix slammed it's tail Into the ground, causing stone chunks to fly into the air. Onix slammed it's tail Into the stone chunks, sending them flying at Hitmonchan. "Break them!" Toru shouted.
Hitmonchan punched all the incoming stone chunks, completely shattering them. "Now use Ice Punch!" Toru shouted. Hitmonchan nodded and rushed at Onix faster than it or Justin could see. It jumped at Onix and winded it's fist back. An icey aura surrounded it's fist. Hitmonchan punched Onix in the face, making it fall on it's back. Onix tried to get up, but Hitmonchan delivered another punch to it's face, causing it to faint.
Justin called Onix back and grabbed his next PokeBall. "(Man this is such a hard battle!)" Justin thought. He threw his next PokeBall forward and Ninetails came out. "Ninetails, use Flamethrower!" Justin shouted.
Ninetails opened its mouth and shot a huge burst of flames at Hitmonchan. Hitmonchan was burned by the attack. "Hitmonchan, use Close Combat!" Toru shouted. Hitmonchan rushed at Ninetails and started punching and kicking it over and over. Ninetails tried to slam it's tail Into the fighting Pokemon, but Hitmonchan dodged and kicked the flame type Pokemon, sending it tumbling forward.
"Ninetails, use Flaming Tackle!" Justin shouted. Ninetails ran at Hitmonchan and set it's body on fire. Ninetails slammed it's body into Hitmonchan, sending it tumbling back. "Hitmonchan, use Barraged Punches!" Toru yelled. Hitmonchan jumped at Ninetails and started punching it over and over again. "Ninetails, use Overheat!" Justin shouted. Ninetails released a bunch of fire from it's body. The fire was too hot for Hitmonchan so it jumped back.
"Now use Flamethrower!" Justin shouted. Ninetails opened it's mouth and shot a giant blast of fire at Hitmonchan. Hitmonchan was sent flying back and fainted. Toru called Hitmonchan and threw his next PokeBall. "Go Nidoking!" Toru shouted.
Nidoking came out and roared loudly. "Nidoking, use Toxic Ball!" Toru shouted. Nidoking opened it's mouth and shot a ball of poison at Ninetails. Ninetails dodged the ball of poison and jumped at Nidoking. "Ninetails, use Flaming Headbutt!" Justin yelled. Ninetails set it's head on fire and slammed it's head into Nidoking's chest. Nidoking didn't budge at all. "Nidoking, use Rock Smash!" Toru said.
Nidoking winded it's fist back and punched Ninetales hard, sending it tumbling back. Ninetails landed in front of Justin and fainted. Justin called it back to it's PokeBall and grabbed another one. "This battle is getting really challenging! Go Machamp!" Justin shouted, throwing the PokeBall forward.
Machamp came out and punched all of it's fist together. "Machamp, use Quadruple Mega Punch!" Justin shouted. Machamp covered all of it's fist in an orange aura and jumped at Nidoking. Machamp punched Nidoking with all of it's fist, making Nidoking fall on it's back. "Nidoking, use Bullet Punch!" Toru shouted.
Nidoking winded it's fist back and it turned into iron. Nidoking punched Machamp in the face, really damaging the fighting type Pokemon. "Now use Tail Slam!" Toru said, pointing his hand forward. Nidoking turned around really fast, slamming it's tail into Machamp.
"Machamp, use Seismic Toss!" Justin yelled. Machamp grabbed Nidoking and jumped high into the air. They both started falling and Machamp threw Nidoking into the ground really hard.
"Nidoking, use Mega Punch!" Toru shouted. "Machamp, use Power Up Punch!" Justin shouted at the same time. Both Pokemon covered their fist in an orange aura and jumped at each other. Both Pokemon managed to punch it's each other in the face at the same time. Both Pokemon fell to the ground and fainted. "(Just like what happened with Ashton's Rhydon and Okotsu's Tauros. Now we're both down to one more Pokemon!)" Justin thought.
Justin and Toru called their Pokemon back to their PokeBalls and threw their next ones forward. Justin sent out Venusaur and Toru sent out Charizard.
"Justin's at a disadvantage! Grass is weak to Fire!" Ashton said. "Justin's gonna have to be really smart in this battle, otherwise Toru will win!" King said.
"Venusaur, use Vine Wrap!" Justin shouted. Venusaur sprouted two vines and shot them at Charizard. The vines wrapped around Charizard, immobilizing it. "Charizard, fly into the air!" Toru shouted.
Charizard managed to free it's wings and flew into the air, dragging Venusaur with it. "Charizard, burn the vines!" Toru shouted.
Charizard used it's flame breath to burn the vines, freeing itself. Venusaur couldn't fly so it fell and crashed into the ground. "Venusaur, use Blinding Powder!" Justin shouted.
Venusaur shot grew powder at Charizard, blinding it. "Now use Vine Smack!" Venusaur smacked Charizard with it's vines, damaging the fire type. "Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Toru shouted. Charizard shouted a flame attack at Venusaur. " Venusaur, dodge and use Leech Seed!" Justin yelled.
Venusaur jumped out of the way of the attack and spit out a bunch of seeds that landed under Charizard and planted themselves into the ground. Suddenly, a bunch of roots shot out of the ground and wrapped themselves around Charizard. Charizard tried to break out of the vines, but couldn't.
"Great Job Venusaur! Now use Solar Beam!" Justin yelled. Venusaur absorbed some sunlight and shot a huge beam of light at Charizard. Charizard couldn't move and was hit with the beam. The roots let go off Charizard and it fell to the ground on the brink of fainting. "This isn't over just yet! Charizard, use Eruption!" Toru screamed.
"(Eruption?! That's the strongest fire move Charizard can learn!)" Professor Stewart thought to himself in the stands.
"Eruption? What type of move is that?" Ashton asked. King and Okotsu shrugged. Even Eric, who was previously sitting in the corner of the room looking at his Pokedex, walked over to Ashton, King, and Okotsu. "Scoot over. I need to see this," Eric said, sitting beside Ashton.
Charizard roared loudly and shot a giant ball of fire into the air. Suddenly, the ball of fire exploded, causing it to rain Fire Balls. Venusaur tried to dodge them, but was too slow and was hit by a bunch of the fire balls. Venusaur took too much damage and fainted. "The winner of the second match of the second round is the trainer Toru!" The judge announced. The crowd started cheering loudly.
Justin and Toru called their Pokemon back to their PokeBalls and Toru walked up to Justin. "Good match, man. You're way stronger than I thought!" Toru said, sticking his hand out for a hand shake. "Thanks Toru. You too," Justin said, grabbing his hand and shaking it. They both turned and walked out of the stadium. They got to the waiting room and saw their friends were there.
"Good job guys! That match was so cool!" Ashton exclaimed. "Thanks Ash. It was a really hard battle too," Toru said. "Hey Toru," Eric said, facing away from everyone. Toru looked at Eric with confusion. "How does your Charizard know that move?" Eric asked.
"I don't know. Before the tournament when I was still getting gym badges, I heard of this move and tried to teach it to Charizard, but it never got the hang of the move. It must have finally figured out how to use it on the brink of fainting," Toru said. "Alright. My battles coming up and I dont plan on losing. I'm battling you, right?" Eric asked, pointing at King. King nodded.
"Alright. I don't care how powerful your Pikachu is, I dont plan on losing," Eric said. King just gulped with nervousness. The intercom turned on and a voice came over it.
"Will the two trainers, Eric and King please make their way to the stadium?" The voice asked before the intercom turned off. "Right on cue. Let's go," Eric said, walking off. "Right. Wish me luck guys!" King said before turning and running to the stadium. He was determined to win his match.
