The group climb out from the church and look at the school
Bill: Look. There's the school
Tom: I can kinda see it
Bill: Well, it's there. We ready?
Joel: Guess we'll find out
They drop down to a graveyard area where there's a pile of infected bodies nearby
Ellie: Oh, man
Joel: C'mon, you don't need to be lookin' at that
Ellie: I've seen worse
Tommy walks off, brushing past Ellie
Bill: Past this gate, it's all new territory to me
Joel: I'm on it
The area past the gate is filled with clickers
Ellie: Hey, hey. You guys hear that?
Joel: Yeah, stay close to Tommy
Ellie: Okay
She crouch walks next to him as Bill hands Tommy a nail bomb
Bill: Here, might get a kick with this. Just make sure you toss it far
Tom: Got it
He tosses the nail bomb and it attracts the clickers. Their curiosity is their demise as the bomb explodes sending shrapnel into their bodies which tears them apart piece by piece and Bill was right, Tommy got quite the kick out of it
Tom: Neat
Bill: Yeah, here's the recipe
He hands him a piece of paper
Tom: Much obliged
Tommy nods and heads to a gate
Tom: Locked
Bill: Hold up. I got a key for that gate. I suggest we move quietly
Tom: We're following you
Bill nods and they head through the gate to hear runners advancing on them
Ellie: Runners!
Joel pushes forward with Bill using their shotguns and they blast away the infected with ease
Joel: You weren't kiddin' about this place, were ya?
Ellie: If you guys would give me a gun. I could help you kill some of these fuckers!
Bill: Shut up. Just shut up
Joel: This way
They try to get through a garage door but it's tied on the other side
Tom: Here, open it, a bit
Joel does so and Tommy uses his knife to slice off the rope
Tom: Bingo
Bill: Nice
Tommy heads through first to see more clickers. He folds out his bow and tosses a bottle to draw them out where he slowly yet surely rids of all of them
Tom: There's probably more inside the house
He heads through first and senses a clicker down the hall and one resting in the dining area
Tom: I can take the clicker in the hall if you can take the one in the dining area
The boy said looking to Joel who nods with his bow out
Joel: Sounds good. I'll wait on you
Tommy nods and steadies his breathing before drawing his bowstring back with an arrow nocked. He lets loose and the arrow cuts through the hallway and finds it mark in the clickers head, killing it and he sees the clicker in the dining area drop dead where Joel comes out with a thumbs up
Tom: Alright, let's go. Nice shot, old man
Joel chuckles as Tommy pats his shoulder and they find an RV that they can climb over
Bill: Alright, c'mon, let's get up. On the RV and over. We should be clear
They do so and cross a plank to a treehouse
Ellie: Who the hell left this here? You got friends in town?
Bill: No. Although, I have some idea who mighta come through here. School's on the other side of this house. Let's get inside
Joel: Alright, I think we're good
Bill: For now. Goddamn those things. Nobody's bitten, right?
Tom: No
Ellie: Nope. I'm good
Joel: We're all fine. Let's just keep moving
They enter a house to explore. Tommy heads upstairs with Joel and Ellie before heading off into a separate room from them which Ellie notices
She sighs and looks at Joel
Ellie: Hey, you got a second?
Joel: Yeah?
Ellie: I... I just want to say I'm sorry, about Tess. That's it. I won't bring it up again
Joel: Ellie, you don't need to worry about me. If anything you should be worrying about Tommy, I'm worried about him, I can tell he's still hurting... Is there something else?
Ellie: Yeah... Just, what kind of girls does Tommy like? I-I mean, I know he probably hasn't met any, especially with the world now. B-but in general
She asks fiddling with her thumbs
Joel: You just keep being yourself and I'm sure he'll fall for you. I noticed he's being distant from you, I don't what happened but you better talk to him
Ellie: Yeah
Joel: Okay, I'll go check on Bill
He walks off and Ellie goes to where Tommy is to find him lying on the bed with his eyes closed, holding his necklace
Ellie: Tommy?
She sits on the bed to hear him lightly snore... he's knocked out. Ellie gently shakes him and he opens his eyes and he focuses on Ellie
Tom: Ellie
He sits up and adjusts his headband
Tom: I was just... taking a load off
Ellie: I understand
Tom: We ready to head out?
Ellie: I think, but can we talk first?
Tom:(sighs) Okay
She takes him by surprise and hugs him tightly. Ellie doesn't like seeing Tommy so serious and not talking to her, it hurts. It makes her feel all alone again
Ellie: I'm so sorry, Tommy, I didn't mean it. I don't want you to leave me alone and I know you don't wanna get me killed... I don't know why I said that, I was mad at Joel a-and I took it out on you, I'm so sorry
He hugs and gently shushes her
Tom: Hey, shh, it's okay, Ellie. I forgive you... But you have to understand, the last thing I want, is to get you killed, okay? I told Tess that I'd watch over you and I'm sure as hell gonna do that, with every fiber of my being
They pull away and he wipes her tears
Tom: Can you smile for me?
She does so
Tom: There you go. C'mon, you don't need to feel so bad when you barely did anything wrong
She giggles and touches his headband
Ellie: You look cute with it
Tom: Thanks. C'mon, we should check on the dinosaurs
They both laugh and hold each other's hand as they walk down to Bill and Joel...
