Four days had come and gone since the Country Club Fiasco. The beautiful brunette arrived at school and parked her mother's old camaro next to Ali's mercedes, while her boyfriend and his friends pulled up on their motorcycles.
After grabbing her backpack from the passenger seat, she locked her impala, and walked to the Cobra Kais. "Hey babe." Rebecca smiled as she kissed her boyfriend's cheek.
"Hey beautiful." Bobby smiled as he wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her temple.
"Becca, I'm sorry about the other night. It was only supposed to be a joke." Johnny said
Rebecca sighed, then turned to face the blonde. "Look Johnny, I hope you can understand why I slapped you. I know you're expecting me to apologize, but I'm not going to. Your little joke ended up hurting my best friends in the process. You never learn do you?" she said as she folded her arms over chest
"Look, it was a joke. Why can't you and Ali take one?" Johnny said
"Because, whether it was a joke or not, that bullshit wasn't funny. You humiliated Ali and Daniel both, and in front of everyone. You wouldn't like it if someone did it to you, so why does it make it okay to do it to them. You have to know when to draw the line, but the problem is, you don't." Rebecca said. "Look, instead of striking first, maybe try thinking first. It might get you a little bit further in life."
After kissing her boyfriend's cheek, and embracing the other Cobras except for Johnny, she walked to her locker to meet Ali, who waved her over.
"You fucked up man." Dutch said
"Come on, I was just having some fun." Johnny said
"Yeah, but LaRusso is her best friend." Bobby said.
"I thought Ali's her best friend?" Dutch asked
"Yeah, why are Ali and Becca always defending that annoying little twerp anyways?" Johnny asked
"To answer your question Dutch, Ali is her best friend, and you can have more than one best friend. To answer your question Johnny, the reason Bec defends LaRu— Daniel, is because he too, is her best friend. We may not like it, but I love her, and I accept it. If you guys are her friends like you say you are, you'll accept it too." Bobby said
"Hey Ali. Hey Susie." Rebecca smiled as she embraced them both, and they returned the embrace. "Ali how's your hand?"
"It's sprained but it will heal." Ali said
"I guess I never realized you had a mean right hook." Barbara laughed
The four girls laughed, then Ali's laughter and smile faded. "I just want to explain to Daniel." Ali said
"You'll get to." Rebecca reassured
The girls saw Daniel walking towards the entrance, Ali was ready to greet him, but he walked right past them. The blonde brushed it off, and walked up to him.
"Daniel. Daniel." Ali called from behind him, but he ignored it and kept walking. She ran up to him and Rebecca, Susan, and Barbara followed suit. "Daniel, you could at least listen to me..."
"What, and be lied to?" Daniel asked
"You know, you're pretty rude." Ali said as they continued to walk. Rebecca had to admit, Daniel was being pretty rude.
"How could you tell? You live in a world full of rude people. I just want you and your pals to leave me alone okay?" Daniel said as he stalked off.
Ali turned to her best friends. Rebecca gave her a look of sympathy, while Susan and Barbara just rolled their eyes at Daniel
As the day progressed, Ali and Daniel avoided one another like the plague, and both were miserable, which didn't go unnoticed by their best friend. Rebecca tried to talk to Daniel, but he wouldn't listen to her either.
At the end of the day, Rebecca finally had enough of his sulking. Just like her grandmother Mary, she had a temper when she needed it, and right now, it was coming out. Grabbing Daniel by the arm, she pulled him into an empty classroom. "Hey, what's the big idea?" an annoyed Daniel questioned
Rebecca rolled her eyes and retorted, "Daniel, you're being ridiculous. Give Ali a chance to explain what happened."
"I'm not being ridiculous about anything, Becca. There's nothing to explain. I know what I saw." Daniel said
"Which is?" Rebecca questioned
"Her lips locked with that jerk's." Daniel said.
Rebecca shook her head, then replied, "Daniel, I was there, you can believe what you want, but you didn't see what happened afterward. Did you not notice the bandage on her wrist? She sprained her wrist punching him in the jaw. Look, I'll meet you at Mr. Miyagi's, but you can think about what I've said."

Later that night, a small celebration was in motion for Daniel's birthday at Mr. Miyagi's, and Mr. Miyagi and Rebecca were in attendance. As Daniel and Rebecca sat at the table, Mr. Miyagi carried a cake for Daniel.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Daniel-San. Happy birthday to you." Mr. Miyagi sang and Rebecca hugged his arm. "Make a wish." he and Rebecca both said
"Oh wow. I know what I'm wishing for." Daniel said, then inhaled sharply before blowing out all the candles, then Mr. Miyagi and Rebecca smiled and clapped and she hugged him
"Very good, Daniel-san. Here." Mr. Miyagi said reaching under the table picking up a neatly wrapped box and handing it to Daniel. "Number 1 present."
"Oh Mr. Miyagi, what'd you do? You didn't have to do this." Daniel said as he unwrapped the box and pulled out a white gi with a bonsai tree printed on the back. "Mr. Miyagi this is great. Where did this come from anyway?" he asked as he ran his fingers over the material
"Mrs. Miyagi make long time ago." Mr. Miyagi said. Rebecca smiled softly as she placed a gentle hand on his arm.
"If you ever want this patch back, I'll understand." Daniel said running his hand over the bonsai patch
"I know you understand. Try on." Mr. Miyagi said
Mr. Miyagi and Rebecca helped Daniel slide the gi over his shoulders. "Do you think I stand a chance at this tournament?" Daniel asked as he adjusted the gi
"Doesn't matter what Miyagi think. Miyagi not fighting." Mr Miyagi said
"I just don't know if I know enough karate." Daniel said
"Feeling correct." Mr. Miyagi said. "You get license?" Mr. Miyagi asked
"Yeah, yeah." Daniel said and pulled out his wallet, then a small photo of him and Ali together fell out of his wallet. Mr. Miyagi saw the picture, picked it up, and looked at it.
"Never knew you had sweetheart." Mr. Miyagi said
"Oh no, I don't." Daniel said
"Look good together. Different but same." Mr. Miyagi said handing the picture back to Daniel
"No different but different." Daniel said as he put the picture back in his wallet.
Rebecca smiled as she gave Daniel a gift. "Daniel, this is for you."
"You didn't have to get me anything." Daniel said
"I know, but just open it." Rebecca smiled
Daniel opened the gift to reveal a painting of Newark, New Jersey. "Becca, this is great. Thank you so much." he smiled graciously as he embraced the brunette.
"You're welcome." Rebecca smiled as she returned the embrace
"Too bad mother not here." Mr. Miyagi said
"Oh shoot! Shoot! Damn it! Mr. Miyagi I've gotta go meet my mother. She was gonna make this surprise cake for me." Daniel said as he took the gi off.
"Miyagi understand." Mr. Miyagi said
"I'm sorry." Daniel apologized
"Miyagi once have mother too. Go outside. Have something to show you." Mr. Miyagi said
"What?" Daniel asked
"Number 2 present." Mr. Miyagi said, as Rebecca stood up and followed Daniel and Mr. Miyagi outside. "Choose." he said gesturing to the cars
"Oh no, no." Daniel started
"Ah, hurt old man feeling." Mr. Miyagi said
Daniel slowly approached the yellow car and stopped in front of it. It was a 1947 Ford Super De Luxe. He opened the door and gets into the driver's side, set the painting in the passenger seat and leaned his head back into the leather seat. Mr. Miyagi and Rebecca walked over to him and stood next to the door.
"Just remember license never replace eye, ear, and brain." Mr. Miyagi said to both of them, and Daniel nodded, a somewhat far away look on his face.
"What is it Daniel?" Rebecca asked softly
"I'm just scared about the tournament, that's all." Daniel said
"You two remember lesson about balance?" Mr. Miyagi asked, and Daniel and Rebecca both nodded. "Lesson not just in karate only. Lesson for whole life, whole life have balance, everything better."
Daniel looked up his flickering between the two of them. "You both are best friends I've ever had."
"Hai, you both pretty ok too." Mr Miyagi said making both Rebecca and Daniel chuckle
"Go find balance Daniel-San." Mr. Miyagi said as he showed him the picture of Ali and gave it back to him
"Happy Birthday, Daniel." Rebecca smiled and gave him a gentle embrace
"Thanks." Daniel said as he returned the embrace
"Bonsai, Daniel-San!" Mr. Miyagi said
Daniel smiled and drove away, yelling bonsai as he went. Once he was gone, Mr. Miyagi and Rebecca walked to her mother's old camaro. "You have sweetheart too, Rebecca-san?" Mr. Miyagi asked, even though he already knew the answer
Rebecca nodded and opened up her wallet, giving Mr. Miyagi a clear view of a picture of her and Bobby tucked into it. Mr. Miyagi grined at the picture. "Look good together. Go find balance, Rebecca-san." Mr. Miyagi said
Rebecca nodded and opened the door. She started her engine and started to drive away. "Bonsai!" Mr. Miyagi yelled and waved to her
"Bonsai!" Rebecca smiled and waved back

Rebecca pulled into the parking lot of Golf N' Stuff and parked the camaro. She got out and locked it and walked into the arcade area. Once she walked in, she saw Ali and the girls playing shoot away.
"Hi girls!" Rebecca smiled
"Hi!" Ali, Susan, and Barbara smiled as they embraced their best friend
Ali and Susan continued to play shoot away, while Rebecca and Barbara stood by and watched. Suddenly Daniel jumped in front of them.
"Don't shoot! No! No! No!" Daniel said as he held his hands up in surrender. Ali shot him and he groaned, pretending to be in pain. "Hey, don't leave me here, I'm wounded." he said as the four girls began walking away
Susan scoffed and glared at him, before she rudely retorted. "Good, maybe you'll die."
Rebecca and Ali walked over to the Pac Man machine, where the blonde began to play, as she stood close to Rebecca. "Hey, I just wanted to apologize." Daniel said
Ali kept her eyes on the screen, and continued playing the game, then bluntly replied, "Fine, you apologized."
"You know I got my license." Daniel said
"Yeah? Whoop-dee-do." Ali sarcastically said
"Hey, what's with you?" Daniel asked rather annoyed.
Ali tried not to scoff, but continued playing the game. "You expect me to do cartwheels or something?"
"No, I just expect a little courtesy maybe. But I
guess that's just for people with fancy cars and
things like that, right? Right?" Daniel asked and Ali rolled her eyes and walked away, and Rebecca followed her
Barbara placed her hand on Daniel's shoulder before rhetorically asking, "Hey, can't you take a hint?" but Daniel ignored her and followed Ali
"What's the matter, the truth hurt?" Daniel asked as he stopped beside Ali
"Daniel, stop." Rebecca warned, defending Ali, and stood close to the blonde. "That's enough."
Ali turned to her best friend and placed a hand on her shoulder and gave her a soft smile, then turned to Daniel before speaking. "You really think that's it, don't you?" the blonde asked, rather hurt
"Yeah, I know that's it." Daniel said
Ali looked at Daniel, a hurt expression on her face. "Yeah, well you're wrong." she defended
"Oh I bet I'm wrong." Daniel said
"You know Daniel, I didn't go out with you because of a car or-or where you lived." Ali said, as Rebecca placed a consoling hand on her shoulder
"Okay, well while we're on the subject, why did you then?" Daniel asked
Ali didn't respond but broke eye contact from him, and looked down at the table beside them, but Rebecca stood protectively beside her best friend, as Susan and Barbara stood back, but close enough to head over the loud switches and sounds of the arcade games.
Growing irritated, Daniel repeated, "Huh? Why did you?"
Ali stumbled over her words. "Because I thought that—"
"What?" Daniel asked
"Because I thought that maybe you and me where different." Ali said
"Yeah, we're different. I'm from Reseda, you're from The Hills. That's how we're different." Daniel said
Ali rolled her eyes and turned away from him. "That's not what I meant." she sighed
Daniel moved to the other side of the table to face her again. "Why don't you just admit that you can't handle the situation the way it is?" Daniel asked
"You know, I can handle it just fine. You can't." Ali said as she grabbed Rebecca's hand and the two of them walked away.
Susan rolled her eyes and scoffed. "What makes you so sensitive?"
"What?" Daniel asked
"Ali's never been anything but nice to you." Susan said
"Oh yeah, she was so nice she used me to make what's his name jealous." Daniel said
"She doesn't even like what's his name." Susan argued
"Oh yeah, I'd never have guessed the way their faces were stuck together at that country club." Daniel said
"Oh, that's right. You didn't stick around for
the exciting conclusion." Susan smirked
"Oh, what was that? His hand on her ass?" Daniel asked
"Her right hook. You think the she sprained her wrist doing her nails?" Susan asked. "Rebecca even slapped the shit out of him."
"So Becca was right? Ali really did hit him?" Daniel asked
"That's an understatement." Susan said
"Why didn't she say something?" Daniel asked
"She shouldn't have to, should she?" Susan said then walked away
Outside, Rebecca and Ali stood by the gate, and looked at the water slide. The brunette did her best to console her best friend, who was clearly hurt.
"Hey, it's going to be okay." Rebecca reassured
"How can you be sure?" Ali asked sadly.
"Hey slugger." Daniel said as he tapped Ali on the shoulder
Rebecca embraced her best friend, and gave Daniel a friendly pat on the shoulder, before leaving the two of them alone and leaving the arcade

Rebecca pulled into the drive way of Bobby's Encino Hills home. After getting out of the camaro, she closed the door, and walked up the walkway, and to the front steps and rang the doorbell. After a few minutes, Adaline answered the door.
"Rebecca, welcome to our home sweetheart." Adaline warmly smiled, then opened the door further. "Come inside before you catch a cold."
"Thank you, Adaline." Rebecca smiled as she stepped inside, and admired the many paintings in the foyer
After Adaline closed the door, Rebecca turned to the blonde woman in front of her, and the two embraced. "I was wondering when you were going to stop by." the blonde smiled
Bobby walked down the stairs in his jeans and a white tee shirt, and smiled brightly when he saw his beautiful Rebecca. "Hey beautiful." Bobby smiled
Rebecca smiled as she gently pulled away from Adaline's embrace. "Hi honey." she smiled as she embraced her boyfriend. "I know it's late, but you wanna go for a drive?"
Bobby turned to Adaline, who gave him the look of approval, then he looked back down at his girlfriend. "Of course I do." he smiled. "We'll be back later mom."
"I know." Adaline smiled. "I'm not worried."
Bobby and Rebecca kissed the blonde's cheek, then he led Rebecca out the door, and closed it behind them. "So, you wanna drive my mom's camaro?" Rebecca asked as she handed him the keys
"This was your mom's?" Bobby asked as he admired the silver camaro. "It's beautiful."
"I know, she never let anyone drive it and made my father promise to pass it on to me when I got my license." Rebecca smiled as she got in the passenger seat. "You're not just anyone, you're the love of my life."
Bobby smiled as he got in the driver's seat, and deeply admired it. "She's beautiful. How fast does she's go?" he asked as he turned to the brunette beside him
"As fast as you want her to, hon." Rebecca smiled. "But, let's not find out." she added as Bobby laughed and they drove down the road
