"Do you know where Vicki is?" Matt asks walking into my room.
"No. I never know where she is." I say. He sighs and walks out.
A couple minutes go by before Stefan calls me.
"Elise, you need to get to my place now." He says.
"Why what's going on?" I ask.
"It's Vicki."
"Shit."
I run out and Matt's not home. I look out the window and the car is gone.
"Fuck, Matt took the car." I say starting to worry. I can hear someone talking in the background. "Damon's picking you up." He says.
"Okay." I hang up.
A couple minutes go by and I hear a car.
I run out and get in.
"What happened?" I ask.
"You can't get mad at me." He says.
My mind starts racing. Did he kill her?
"What did you do?"
"She's in the process of turning."
"What?"
"She died with my blood in her system. She has to drink human blood for her to turn."
"What if she doesn't?"
"She dies."
I feel my heart sink.
"She has to feed then."
"Tell that to dearest Stefan."
We get to the house and I run in.
"Vic." I whisper looking at her.
"It hurts. My head hurts." She says. I step closer to her.
Stefan grabs my arm.
"Don't. You'll tempt her." He says.
I look at her carefully.
"I want to go home." She says.
"I know."
"It hurts. Everything hurts."
I glance over at Stefan.
"She needs to feed. I'm not going to let her die." I say. He tries to say something.
"Here, come on." Damon says grabbing my arm pulling me.
"I'll be back, Vic." I say before walking out.
I look up at him.
"Damon, I can't lose her." I whisper.
"I know." He says putting his hand on my arm.
"Can you drop me off at Elena's?" I ask. He nods and takes me to her house.
I just sit and try to think of anything but the fact that my sister either becomes a vampire or dies.
Jeremy keeps asking about her and I have to lie.
Elena makes us food when there's a knock at the door.
It's Damon.
"Jeremy, go upstairs." Elena says. He does.
"Can I come in? Oh yeah, I've been invited in." He says walking in. Elena's scared of him.
"Damon, what's going on?" I ask.
"Where's Stefan?" He asks.
"Where's Vicki?" I ask worried. If Damon's not with her, and Stefan is wherever, where is Vicki?
"Go away." Elena says looking at him.
"Tell my brother I'm looking for him."
"Damon, what happened?" I ask grabbing his arm.
"Vicki's gone." He says before walking out.
"Fuck." I mutter sitting down.
I go home and just lay in bed. After a bit Elena calls me.
"Yes?" I ask.
"She fed." She says.
"Shit." I mutter.
"Stefan lost her. She ran off."
"Oh shit."
"It'll be okay."
"Bye Elena." I say hanging up.
In the morning Matt tells me there's a search party for her. I ask to go with but he tells me to go to school. I don't push it.
I get a call from Vicki.
"Hey." I say.
"Hi. I'm okay. Just please don't let Matt worry about me."
"He's worried, Vic."
"I know but please."
"Okay." I sigh.
"You're an amazing sister, Elise."
"I love you, Vic." I whisper.
"Elise." Elena says to me.
"Yeah?"
"You wanna come with? I'm going to Stefan's."
"Yeah." I say needing to see her.
We go over and Damon opens the door.
"Is Stefan here?" She asks.
"Yes."
"Where is he?"
"Hello to you too."
"How can you be so arrogant and glib after everything you've done?"
"And how can you be so brave and stupid to call a vampire arrogant and glib?" He asks.
"Cut it out." I say walking in past him.
"Where is she?" I ask as Elena goes to find Stefan.
"Upstairs with Stefan." He says smirking.
"Why'd you do it?" I ask him.
"I was bored." He says. I look down.
"You did it out of boredom?"
"Its one of the pitfalls of eternity." I shake my head and walk in.
I see Vicki pinning Elena to the wall.
"Let her go." I say. She drops her and walks off.
I run to Elena.
"You okay?" She nods.
She goes to talk to Stefan and I wait outside.
She walks out and we leave.
I start getting ready for the halloween party. I just throw on my last year vampire costume.
I hear people talking and walk downstairs.
Vicki's here.
"Vic?" I ask. She smiles and runs to hug me.
"I'm about to go but we can catch up later." I say. She nods. "Stay here."
I walk out to go meet everyone at the party.
I'm walking with Elena and Jeremy. She sees Matt.
"I'll stay here." I say. They walk over.
After a bit Elena storms away. I follow.
"Vicki's here." She says.
"What?"
"We need to find Jeremy."
We start looking around.
Stefan walks out of a section with Vicki.
"Thank god." Elena says.
"Vicki, you can't be out here." I say.
"You're not mom, don't tell me what to do." She says to me.
Matt walks over.
"What's going on?"
"I told you to quit bothering me." Vicki says pulling away from Stefan making Matt defensive.
"Vicki, stop." I say.
"He won't leave me alone." She says to Matt.
"You need to back off man!" Matt yells.
I turn and Vicki's gone.
"She's gone." I say running to go find her again.
I'm stressing out.
I hear yelling and run outside with Elena.
Vicki's trying to attack Jeremy.
"Vicki, stop!" I yell.
Elena hits her with a wood block. Vicki throws her.
She starts stepping towards me.
"Vicki, please." I beg backing away.
Stefan pushes her to the bus. She disappears.
"Go inside." He says.
We start running inside when I feel something grab me. It's Vicki. She bites my neck and I scream.
"No!" I hear Elena yell.
I can feel the blood leaving me. It hurts.
Stefan stabs her and she falls as her skin turns grey.
"No, no, no." I whisper as I fall next to her.
I can hear Jeremy crying for her.
"Vicki." I mutter grabbing her hand.
Stefan takes Elena and Jeremy away.
"I'm so sorry." I say as tears stream down my face.
"You should go." I hear Damon say walking up to us.
"No." I say standing up. "This is your fault. She's dead because of you." I cry.
"You confuse me for someone with remorse."
"I hate you." I say hitting his chest. "I hate you. I hate you!" I yell continuing.
He grabs my arm stopping me.
"It doesn't matter to me."
"She was my sister." I say as a tear rolls down my face. "You did this to her." I slap him.
He just stares at me.
"You need to go. You're bleeding."
I sob as I walk away.
Elena drives me home.
I shower and change. I sit on my bed and cry.
The window opens and Damon walks in.
"Get out." I say turning away from him.
He sits at the end of my bed.
"El."
"No."
"I'm sorry."
"I thought you felt no remorse." I spit back.
"Elise, I know it's my fault. And I'm sorry."
I turn to him as more tears stream down my face.
"I don't know what to do." I cry. He hugs me.
"I made Jeremy forget. I can make you forget too."
I shake my head.
"I can't do that."
"Okay."
"I can't forget everything. I can't forget this, you." I say knowing I'll regret it in the morning. He hugs me tighter.
"What do I tell Matt?" I ask pulling away.
"We'll figure it out." He says softly.
Another tear rolls down my face and he brushes it away.
"Elise!" I hear Matt yell coming upstairs.
"You have to go." I whisper to Damon. He nods kissing the top of my head before disappearing.
