I never saw it coming,
Although I should've known,
That keeping false hopes
Would hurt me all alone.
I wasn't doing anything
Just scrolling thru my phone,
A picture of you and her
Has frozen me to stone.
Then my heart split in two,
The blood escaping from it
Boiled down into my vessels,
Evaporated out my skin.
I didn't hear the shattering,
I didn't want to cry,
But the splinters had torn
The blindness off my eyes.
You were mine just yesterday
Or at least that's what I thought,
Or maybe it was all in my head
And the ugly poems I wrote.
Now all that I am
Is jealous and alone,
And mad at myself
For when I should've known.
