"Why does all of this crap have to be so dramatic," Tony questioned.
"These guys get into more crap than you guys," Uatu responded.
"Well then," Tony said. "A guy that can possess anyone and Strange is challenging him to a one on one fight. And he has several people to possess."
Strange and Wong were focused on something else.
"Who is it that I am fighting," Strange asked.
"You are fighting the brother of Jericho Drumm also known as Brother Voodoo," Uatu the Watcher answered. "In this universe at this point, Jericho is dead and Daniel blames you."
"Jericho Drumm is dead," Strange said somberly. He and Wong shared a glance as a moment of silence spread about the room. While they didn't know of him, it was clear that he was a hero. One whom Wong and Strange respected deeply.
After it was over Strange said: "His death is a tragedy. So I am fighting Daniel Voodoo then."
"Yes," Uatu responded.
Bruce was going to ask about the red Hulk like person, but felt that now was not the time. Instead making a mental note to ask later.
"You are technically fighting 14 of us," Tony said. "I know you are powerful and all that but you are going to have to pull some really powerful tricks to win this."
"13," Strange corrected. "As humanoid as vision is, he has no soul. He can not be possessed. However he can't directly interfere with a dual. So no attacking Voodoo."
"I hate magic," Rocket said.
"How did Daniel die," Strange asked.
"I will explain at the end," Uatu responded.
"How are you alive," America Chavez asked. "We saw what a single blast of lighting did to Tony's armor earlier and you just took a blast from a possessed Thor. I doubt Voodoo was holding back."
"I know plenty of durability increasing spells," Doctor Strange said. "Currently nothing short of a planet destroying attack will kill me. And that is just my passive protection spell. I have many that are far more protective and powerful."
"Show off," Loki grumbled.
Strange decided not to humor him with a response. He also decided to ignore the look that were sent his way by almost everyone else in the room.
"Okay," Bruce said. "I know that Strange is fighting his friend and all that, but I have to ask. Why and how the hell is there a Red Hulk?"
"You know how in your universe, Hulk went to Sakaar," Uatu answered with a question. "In this unreserved he was forced off by a group of heroes called the Illuminati who saw him as a threat. Eventually he returned and wanted revenge for there actions. However two villains foresaw his return and contacted General Ross."
All the Earth based heroes groaned. They knew all about Ross and hated him. After all his actions with the Sokovia Accords was the reason they had broken up.
"When you say Illuminati, do you the the same people who I encountered in Universe 838," Strange questioned while suppressing a groan.
"I do," Uatu the Watcher responded. "With a few extra heroes."
"Just great," Strange said. "Anyways continue with the explanation."
"In this universe Betty Ross was killed and with the Hulk off world, Ross had no real purpose in life. So he agreed to help them. When Hulk returned he wanted revenge on the heroes who had betrayed him. And in the battle, they managed to siphon energy from the Hulk and after getting Bruce's body. Using these they gave Ross the powers and abilities to turn into a red version of the Hulk who was called Red Hulk."
There was silence as they all took this in. It was certainly interesting.
"Sorry, sir," Peter apologized for what that Spider-Man had done.
"Peter, you don't have to apologize," Strange said. "It wasn't you who attacked me. Also, do not call me sir. As I have told you in the past,we save half the universe together. There is no need for formalities."
"Alright, Stephen," Peter said.
"That still sounds wired," Strange said.
"I am Groot," Groot said.
"I agree," Rocket said.
"What did he say," Tony asked
"That he hates magic."
"On that, we agree."
"Sorry," Steve said.
"Once more there is no need to apologize," Strange said. "Even if was you in control of your body, it is a different version of you. That goes for everyone."
"You are an impressive fighter, Strange," Thor acknowledged. "Not very many people can fight evenly with me. From the looks of it, you could actually win."
"Thank you," the Master of the Mystic Arts responded.
"It seems that while you can fight all of them and even win, you can't do so all at once," Nick Fury summarized. "At least not when holding back and trying to prevent them from taking to much damage and being severely injured or killed."
They all gasped. Strange said that he could handle this but clearly he wasn't doing so good. America and Wong were especially worried for him.
"I wonder who the two voices are," Strange stated. He couldn't help but feel a certain familiarity with one of them. He just couldn't place it. Although he didn't voice it, Wong also felt the familiarity.
"That is what you are worried about," America Chavez asked. "You are fighting a guy who can possess the Avengers and losing. And you are worried about who two voices are."
"They seem familiar," Strange justified. "And one wants to help but can't or wont. The other sees this as a test. I think I recognize them."
He and Wong shared a glance, they were both thinking the same thing, it would seem. But that was impossible, wasn't it. After all they had been through weirder. And they were viewing a different universe.
"That is true," Strange said. "However you cannot interfere in a direct duel between sorcerers when a challenge is issued and accepted. You could however drag the people away from the fight. As long as he isn't possessing them, then technically you are not interfering"
"I just hope that this me realizes that Vision realizes that," Wanda said. "He could really help with this whole affair."
"I think I will," Vision said. "If he is as smart as me then he will realize this."
"I am sorry, Steve," Thor said.
"Like Strange said, you weren't in control of your actions," The Star Spangled Man With A Plan responded. "There is no need to apologize."
"Good job, Vision," Strange genuinely complemented. "We may have gain another hero for Daniel to possess, but Thor was perhaps the most powerful. With him off the table then I may have a chance."
"Speaking of which, who is the new guy," Pepper asked.
"He is Luke Cage. His powers are invincibility and super strength. He is currently trying to retire."
"From the looks of it, he is as good at it as me," Client joked somewhat sadly.
"You will get to, one day," Natasha comforted her friend.
"I know," Client responded. "It just seems like something always comes up."
"What did you do," Pepper asked.
"The Crimson Bands of Cyttorak can trap Astral Projections." Strange said. "It will prevent him from leaving or entering a body."
"Why not lead with that," Gamora asked.
"How am I supposed to know. This is a variant of me, I cannot tell you what he is thinking. It is possible that he caste a counter spell to prevent me from doing so. There are far to many variables to take into consideration for me to give an answer."
"You are scared when you are mad," Ned pointed out. "You know that, right?"
"Its true," Wong said. "If you were to use Dark Magics, you would be near unbeatable."
They all stared wide eyed at the screen. They knew he was powerful, they were not dumb enough to admit that. However seeing him not hold back and use Dark Magic was defiantly a sight. And not a pretty one.
"Look like you were wrong," Tony pointed out.
"No," Strange said. "No one could survive a direct blast from the Zhadana Spell of Astral Form Destruction. I believe this is the mysterious voices that have been discussing my battle."
"This is the Ancient One in this universe," asked.
"Yes. In this universe you served and learned under the Ancient One for years. You saw him as a father and he saw you as a son."
"Congratulations, Strange," Steve Rodgers said.
"Thanks, but I am not the Sorcerer Supreme. That title and honor belongs to Wong," Strange said. Suddenly he had a smirk. "Although, it is ancient customs to bow before the Sorcerer Supreme."
"Not happening, Stephen," Wong said. "While in that universe you are Sorcerer Supreme, in this you are not."
An) Done. I swear this being the ending was completely unintentional. Although it wont really matter as I upload the full comic no matter how many chapters it takes. Anyways go on and finish the issue.
