कोई लम्हा मेरा न हो तेरे बिना
हर सांस पे नाम तेरा 🍃

22 September, 2025.

Dev arrived at Meera's house at around 8 in the evening.
He watched the walls twinkling, emitting different coloured lights from their source. All the pinks, blues, yellows and reds told people of it being a shaadi ghar.
Meera had called him atleast 10 times within the last two hours asking him where he was.
Dev could hear commotion from the backyard but he chose to meet Meera first.

"And then Dev will enter your bedroom and he'll lift your ghunghat." Anamika was being dramatic.
"Eww, that's not going to happen." Meera cringed physically.
"Oh so you've a seduction plan ready?" Anamika persisted.
"Mujhe bhi batao jara kya hai aap ka plan mohtarma." Dev entered the room flashing his brightest smile and Meera immediately jumped into his arms.
She couldn't hug him properly because she had mehendi on her hands but she managed to do so.
"Dev, your beard has become coarser." Meera remarked as she took a better look at his face.
Dev rubbed his cheek onto Meera's playfully until she complained.
"Tum log apna suhagraat ka planning karo, I'll bring food till then." Anamika ran away with Meera shaking her head in disbelief.

"Chalo planning karte hai." Dev insisted.
"Which planning?" Meera nonchalantly questioned.
"Suhagraat obviously!" Dev replied as he scooted closer to her.
"Seriously?" Meera laughed.
"Yeah! Dead seriously!" Dev shrugged.
"After three years of dating and doing EVERYTHING, you still want to plan for suhagraat?" Meera's face morphed into a sarcastic expression as she emphasised on 'everything'.
"Chhi, you're so unromantic!" Dev scrunched his face in a cute way.

"Show me the trophy!" Meera demanded excitedly.
"I got no trophy, BCCI awards people with cheques and silver coins." Dev explained while Meera made a weird face.
"Hain, what's this? trophy to deni chahiye." She was adamant on her opinion of how trophies are a type of validation.
"Why do I need a trophy when you're my most favorite trophy?" Dev threw a cheesy line at her.
"Just like cheese burst pizza's crust. Your cheesiness gets a 2 out of 10." Meera rated Dev's skills and he scowled.
"Thankyou! But did I tell you that you're a heavy trophy?" Dev attempted to get a reaction out of her.
"You seriously said that? You're not getting your gift now." Meera threatened him in a cute way.
She had promised Dev that she'll gift him anything he wants as a prize for him winning the BCCI Impactful Player Of The Year award.

Meera turned her face away to let Dev know she was angry. He had always fallen prey to her adorable gimmicks and Meera knew how to use this in her  favour.
Dev only moved closer and whispered in her ear "Sorry Meee."
Meera was just throwing tantrums and she definitely enjoyed when Dev tried to convince her into forgiving him.
Somewhere, Dev was also aware of this adorable malpractice though he never complained.
Meera shook her head in a no gesture.
Dev moved her hair to a side and kissed her on the neck.
"Ab bhi nahi?" Dev changed his tone to a soft one.
Meera wanted to run her hand through his hair badly but her silly tantrum overpowered this desire.

Dev then brought up a cardboard box infront of her.
"Ab bhi nahi?" Dev asked and opened the box. Meera smiled ecstatically to find her favorite Rawa Cake inside it.
"You brought this for me?" Meera asked, evidently surprised as she turned to look at him.
"Nope, I brought it for Mrs Malfoy who's soon gonna ditch Draco and marry Dev." Dev attempted joking and it worked.

"Cab wale ko bola ki Bhai Iyyangar Bakery ke idhar ruk, special logo ke liye special cheez leni hai." Dev added dramatically.
"Nyan ninne snehikkunnu." Meera had learnt bits of Malayalam by now and she would at times say I love you in Malayalam

"Wait, I'll ask Sita Maushi to bring chai for us." Meera told Dev as she left her room and went to the kitchen, returning ten minutes later with Sita Maushi and two cups of tea in her hand.
"You've to feed me, there is no alternative." Meera stated and Dev obliged as he broke the cake slice in two pieces, dipping it in the tea and feeding Meera.
It was Meera's invention which Dev found weird initially but eventually he loved it.

"Ye kya? You're having Chai at 8:30? Weirdo." Anamika entered and found Dev and Meera having their own kinda meal.
"That's my meal." Meera declared.
"Okay having cake as dinner is weird but you have to try this bhaji (sabzi), its amazing!!" Anamika sat beside Meera and started to feed her.
"What took you so long?!" Meera questioned Anamika considering she almost took 30 minutes to bring food.
"Arre I was talking to your Mom, Sandhya Maushi and then all the ladies gathered, asking me how's work and are you married and blah blah." Anamika enacted.
"I said, I recently broke up with my firangi boyfriend so no wedding on my cards." Anamika shrugged.
"Ooh, I bet it was Gokhale Kaku who asked you this. She is always so nosy." Meera chuckled.

"Hi Dev, how're you? And also congratulations!" Anamika congratulated Dev as she fed Meera.
"Thankyou! I'm fine, how are you?" Dev asked in return.
"Currently I'm working my ass off at your shaadi, that pretty much explains it." Anamika joked and Meera nudged her elbow into her friend's stomach.

"Oh fuck it's the HR! Why is he calling me now?"  Anamika's brows scrunched in annoyance as she saw an incoming call from the HR.
"Dev, feed her na." Handing the plate to him, Anamika grabbed her phone and exited the room.
"Tumse milke, aisa laga tumse milke, armaan hue poore dil ke." Dev sang as he fed Meera.

Isn't the to be groom feeding the to be bride at mehendi a must?

It was officially Dev and Meera's wedding 3 days later.
The wedding was supposed to take place in Pune as surprisingly, Dev wished for it to happen in Pune, the Marathi way.
Two main reasons being, Meera was the only daughter of the Joshi's and secondly, Dev's parents had no problem with a Marathi wedding as Chandni had wed the Malayali way.

The Padikkals had arrived at the Joshis last week and their stay till date had been nothing less than awesome.
Meera's parents assured  themselves of everything going smoothly and it did.
Dev's family were introduced to numerous Marathi dishes and they loved it.

Meera's house was a bungalow in a beautiful area of Pune called Kothrud.
It had a vintage aesthetic and it could accommodate many people, having two floors and a terrace.
The terrace was converted to a Mandap type.
Not 'shaadi ka mandap' but just a sitting and cooking area.
There was an ancestral wooden swing on the terrace and everyday the children and even the adults would fight over the swing.

The reason Dev was late at his own wedding function was the BCCI awards that were supposed to take place on the Mehendi day.
The Mehendi wasn't an extravagant event like the way shown in movies.
It was a homely affair with good food, good people and memories.

When Dev arrived, everyone was busy in the backyard having dinner, chatting among themselves, hence no one noticed him until Dev, Meera and Anamika joined the others.
Ruturaj and Netra had also arrived sometime ago. They had recently married and everyone welcomed them warmly.

"Thankgod you're here Dev! Amma was going to throw a fit of rage any moment now." Chandni approached them.
"Also, how's my mehendi?" Chandni asked excitedly, showing Dev her  hands.
"Ekdum bakwas." Dev replied the usual way, earning a glare as Chandni stuck out her tongue at him.
"You're a married woman now, behave like one." Dev tried to irk his sister.
"You're about to get married, behave like a good husband." Chandni gave it back to him.
"Where's Abir?" Meera asked Chandni.
"Yeah where's he? Kahi tumse tang aa ke bhag to nahi gaya?" Dev joked and Meera nudged him with a pointed look.
"Very funny Dev. Abir and Yash went to get something." Chandni informed them about Abir, her husband and Yash, Meera's cousin.

"Dev if you had failed to arrive a minute late, no one would've been as bad as me." Ambili spoke in a scary tone.
"It's your own wedding and look at how late you are!" Ambili kept on ranting but Dev stopped her midway.
"Yaar Amma if the cab was late, how'sit my fault? Flight was on time, cab wasn't." Dev justified.
"Ambili, it's okay, now let them have food." Dev's father diverted her attention and she finally let go after Dev held his ears.

"Dev! look at this amazing places!" Diksha, Dev's cousin showed him the photos she clicked on her DSLR.
"Yash took me around for a ride today and we saw such amazing places! I swear Pune is the most aesthetically pleasing place for a photographer!" She was bubbling with excitement on finding a subject for her photography project.
Dev and Meera appreciated her skills on seeing the wonderful shots Diksha had clicked.
"Meera, suggest me a good title for my project about Pune na." Diksha requested Meera while going through her photos.
"Sure, let me think."

"Kya baat chal rahi hai mujhe bhi batao." Yash jumped into the conversation, seating beside Diksha.
"I was telling them about our day and about the new project." Diksha answered.
"Yeah and she mentioned ki Yash is a terrible rash driver who he doesn't wear a helmet." Meera spoke in an authorative tone.
"Arre Tai, Punyat koni helmet ghalat nahi tula tar mahitiy!" ( you know no one wears a helmet in Pune). Yash justified.
"That doesn't mean your behave irresponsibly!" Diksha chimed in and smiled victoriously when Yash held his ears as an apology.

"Also Diksha I've thought of a title 'The Alluring Campus of the Oxford of the East'." Meera suggested.
"That's amazing!!! Pune is popularly called Oxford of the East and bro you made great use of that!" Diksha exclaimed and ordered Yash to follow her as they went away.

"In dono ka scene hai kya?" Dev asked Meera on observing Yash towing behind his cousin.
"I think hai because Yash has been following Diksha and she's making good use of him." Meera giggled.
"I think they're cute." Dev opined and Meera agreed.

"You do realize ki hum dono akele hai aur idhar koi nahi hai?" Dev changed his tone to a husky one.
"Oh yeah where's everyone?" Meera asked as she looked around.
"Sab chale gaye taaki navra bayko ko privacy mile." Dev twirled Meera's hair in his fingers.
"You do realize this is a shaadi ghar and kabhi bhi koi bhi aa sakta hai?" Meera warned as she emphasized on kabhi bhi and koi bhi.
"Aana hai to aane do." Dev shrugged as he moved her hair away.
"Dev." Meera whispered shakily as Dev kissed her neck.

"Kaka! Dev Dada is biting Aunt Meera!"  Meera's little niece barged in and screeched, startling Dev and Meera.
"I told you!" Meera glared at Dev and he knew he was dead.
"Priya, come here." Dev called the little girl.
"You're Bad Dada, you were troubling my Atya." The little girl frowned and Meera burst out laughing but she composed herself.
"Priyuu, we don't talk that way to elders, do we? Say sorry." Meera made her understand.
"Will he give me a big Dairy Milk Silk if I say sorry?" Priya cross questioned.
"Arre I'll give you a very big chocolate, take this and go to Yash Kaka and ask him to get you a chocolate." Dev agreed as he removed a note from his pocket.
"You'll get two chocolates if you don't tell anyone ki I troubled your Atya." Dev played like a witty person.
"Okay sorry Dada." The little girl smiled widely and ran away but not before she snatched the note from Dev's hand.

"Bad Dada!" Meera burst out laughing the minute Priya left.
"Ha ha has lo." Dev retorted  sarcastically and leaned back in the chair.
"Fir kisne bola tha abhi ye sab karne ko? I'd warned you this is a shaadi ghar."
"Upar se you're bribing kids!" Meera added.
"Lesson learnt." Dev accepted that he was stupid.
