All is numb. I have probably gone blind because all I see is NOTHING. There is neither light nor dark. And I do absolutely nothing to change that. Why should I? I'm too tired of existing; too tired to breathe; too tired to feel. Uncertainly, I can hear. I can hear cacophonies. Distinct. Muffled.
Gunshots. I can hear gunshots. As time passes, they become clearer as if they are approaching me. As they become insanely loud and clear , my vision immediately comes back. With the vison, panic comes rushing. NO. I don't want this. I want the numbness.
Comprehending what I see, I shut my eyes. I'm in a car all alone, curled up in a ball on the backseat. The door is ripped open by intruders. I feel something metallic pressed on my head. A gun! I scream on top of my lungs. As the trigger is pulled, my eyes flutter open. I find myself completely unharmed on my bed. I get off the bed and search for a place to hide. The door flies open, causing me to scream again. He rushes in; confusion plastered on his face. He walks towards me and I nervously step back. "D-don't" I stutter. He doesn't stop. He comes near and scoops me in his arms as he coos "Shh, baby. I'm right here. There's nothing to be afraid of. You had a nightmare?"
