XAVIER BERGHDAHL.
There are several features of his that I found interesting.
One his piercings.
He's got one on his left eyebrow, nose and upper lip.
Two. His moody countenance like someone peed in his tea.
Three. His eyes.
Heterochromatic, I think that's the name. His left eye was brown and the other green mixed with purple and some unidentifiable colour. Unidentified because I wasn't standing close enough.
Four. His tattoos.
From his right arm sleeve, I'm guessing he has lots of them.
Focus,
Hazel.
Well, after all the long introductions, Dad dropped the shocker.
"You'll be relocating to Australia, Hazel."
First, I blink. Second, my jaws fly open.
"No way, dad! Australia's weird with their crazy ass animals. Wait, you're joking right?"
Dad's face lacks any humour while Xavier stands there, chuckling.
"That's why you have Xavier, he's going to be your guide in Australia, Hazel." Dad explains.
What?
Australia?
How about my friends? Shawn? Oh no.
Still shaken from the news, I shove Xavier aside and trudge up to my room, messaging all my friends.
Chadz: wait, Australia??? (21:13p.m)
Ilovebrownies: hazel's gonna get eaten by a huge ass spider...(21:13p.m)
hAzE: hey! you're making it worse Gem
Ilovebrownies: 😊
DetectiveBradley: is Shawn aware?
hAzE: Noooo😭.
Chadz: Someone's gotta tell him.
hAzE: Who?
Chadz: I will, so that he realizes that he was gay the entire time and can finally be with me....😎
Ilovebrownie: Have I ever told you how stupid you are, Chad? (21:14p.m)
I can't help but snort.
Charlie: why am i friends with you, chad? 🙍
DetectiveBradley: I'm breaking up with you 💔
And an endless torrent of words trail down my screen.
However, mum enters my room at this point, so, I give her my attention.
Rubbing her belly, she sits on my bed. "Hey kid."
Smiling, I reach across to her outstretched arm. She pulls me into a warm side hug.
"How are the babies?" I ask her, frowning when I remember something.
She smiles, glancing at her baby bump. "They kicking. I have a feeling it's going to be boys."
"No way. One Blake is enough for me, mum. I need sisters." I protest.
Mother shrugs. "Well, we're just going to wait and see."
"This means I'm not going to be here when my siblings are born. I don't like that." I whine, holding onto her tighter.
She laughs. "You'll fly in a week or two before my due date, my love."
I stick out my pinky. "Promise?"
Mum links her small finger with mine. "Promise."
Blake barges in, looking pissed. His entrance startles mum and I. "Whose idea was this?"
Mum sighs. "Blake-"
"No, I want to know. My sister is not going to any weird ass country, mum. I'll make sure of that." He storms out, probably to confront dad.
When I think of all I'm going to miss back here, I start crying and mum does too.
Dad enters at this point with Blake behind him. Dad immediately rushes over to his wife.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
She sniffles. "Yeah. Just my hormones acting up."
Dad puts his arms around her and whispers sweet nothings into her ear.
Blake gags. "Oh my goodness, you both are so cute and it's sickening."
I chuckle when dad thwacks him on his head and mum laughs, snuggling deeper into her husband.
Okay, I agree with Blake.
Dad presses a kiss on mother's forehead and Blake grunts. "I think I'm going to be sick." He races into my bathroom, making retching noises.
"That boy's so dramatic." Mum states, still laughing.
"He takes after you." Dad accuses.
Mum gasps. "Are you saying I'm dramatic?"
"Oh shoot!" Dad swears, seeing her eyes well up with tears. "I'm sorry babe."
She hiccups, pushing him away. "You called me dramatic, I'm breaking up with you. Hazel, pick a side, me or your dad."
Tongue tied, I zip my mouth and throw the imaginary key away.
Mum starts sobbing and goes out with dad following closely behind, begging her. I feel sorry for him.
Blake emerges. I frown at the water splashes on his blue T-shirt. "I hope you did not throw up in my bathroom, Blake."
He shrugs. "What if I did."
After getting seated on my bed, he sighs. "You really are going away, huh?"
"I guess so."
None of us are pleased about it.
Blake sets a package on my leg. I stare at the wrapped box. "What's in there?"
"Open it."
My fingers work smoothly, freeing the strings and uncovering a Nikon camera inside. "Blake-"
"Take a lot of pictures, would you?"
This is enough to send me into another episode of tears.

My friends come over for a movie night. Even Shawn. Chad was the one who told him about my moving.
Everyone's depressed. The atmosphere in my room, depressing. Outside, depressing. Thunder bolts shake the earth as rain pours down steadily in sheets.
It's 11:23pm and nobody's saying anything. We just remain in this big hug; Me, Chad, Charlie, Winston and Gemma.
Shawn said it was weird and kept to his side of the bed, watching us oddly.
"How long are you going to be there for?" Charlie's the first person to break the silence.
"A year, maybe more." I state.
Everyone gasps. Gemma enters a wave of crying and refuses to be consoled.
"I think you should run away, Hazel." Chad suggests, burying his face in Winston's neck.
I laugh. "That's a little too extreme, Chad. I'll be back, I promise."
Gemma blows her nose in one of my shirts. Eww!
"And who's this Xavier guy you're going with?" Winston demands, stealthily looking at Shawn. I look at him too.
"The son of dad's business partner. Why are you asking me. You were there at-"
Shawn abruptly walks out of my room, slamming the door on us.
"Someone's jealous." Charlie says in a sing song voice.
I hit him with a pillow before stumbling out of my bed and going after my best friend.
