"Hey Lucas. Wait up." Taehyung called out. "Yes Taehyung. What's up?" Lucas halted and spoke once Taehyung came and stood beside him. "My anger." Taehyung says intimidatingly.
"Huh?" Lucas questioned very well enjoying Taehyung's jealous and frustrated state. "Don't you dare and play fool with me. You know very well what I am inferring to, don't you?" "What are you talking about Taehyung? I am seriously lost." "Okay enough beating around the bush. Stay away from my girl. Don't you ever approach her again. This is my last and final warning. Next time I won't talk, my hands will. This just a gentle reminder for you to keep your ass in your territory. Trying to invade my precious property or as I love to say my girl would only result in worst consequences for your impudent deeds." He said and patted Lucas' shoulder a little too bitterly.
Lucas snickered internally (he was enjoying teasing Taehyung too much) and said, "Cheesy and daunting but don't you worry I won't be an obstacle in your beautifully painted love story. I am gay and this was a dare. I was going to end it at the table itself but your jealous episode was too tempting to quit and so I decided to tell her when we were going to talk later." Relief flashed through Tae's features as he stopped listening to Lucas sprouting nonsense after fully registering that this was all a dare. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off his chest.
Taehyung was about to speak but Lucas beat him to it. "Also be quick in making your move because your "precious property" (he said air quoting the words for emphasis) or as you love to say "your girl" is too enticing to resist and will be stolen before you even know it because damn! she is both cute and hot at the same time. Deadly!"
Taehyung had his hands balled into fists. "Shut your trap! dunce. Don't you dare talk about her like that again or it won't take me long to beat the living daylights outta you. Let all of your cheeky friends and the others know that Y/N is completely out of their league and if they mess with her, they should be prepared to live with broken limbs because I won't be this composed the next time, I come across something like this." He said menacingly.

Y/N was peacefully munching or more like playing and stabbing at her food uninterestingly waiting for Taehyung by looking at the door time and again. Then, as if on cue Taehyung sauntered in the cafeteria with his hands in his pockets walking in his own merry world as if he didn't just take a total of twenty-five minutes in his so-called washroom excuse.
Y/N was just silently staring at him with her nose flaring ever so slightly while Taehyung completely unaware of the situation he had pulled himself into came and sat at their table oblivious. It was Y/N's whining which pulled him out of his fantasy world.
"It has not even been twenty-four hours since we agreed on being friends and you are already keen on abandoning me. You just had to take out-and-out 25 minutes while I was sitting here all alone with people staring me down like I've committed a heinous crime." Y/N finished with a whining tone and an irritated pouting face.
Taehyung found the whole "left me alone" whine, extremely adorable and cute, just how Y/N's eyes tiny-ed down to slits with her eyebrows lowkey creasing together as she complained with her cute little pout being a constant. He just kept staring at her with a content little smile puffing his chest internally feeling proud as his girl was grumpy because he just left her alone for a mere twenty-five minutes.
"Did you miss me so much? he asked with a victorious smirk going as far as stretching out his right arm over the chair next to him and sitting back comfortably into his chair."
(Imagine him smile-smirking)
She was caught off-guard and red handed simultaneously. Off guard because she wasn't expecting him to pinpoint that and red handed because she was indeed missing him.
"Uh...uh...um...of course nawt. (She chuckled nervously) I wasn't missing you at all. (He raised an eyebrow, rolled his tongue and making an "oh is it" face)"
"Well, you know it's just creepy sitting here and eating all by myself when I came here with you." She said fidgeting with her fingers and looking down then she just muttered so Taehyung couldn't hear but good for her, he had ears as sharp as a greater wax moth. "How can you leave me here unaccompanied for half of our lunch time, Tae." His heart was beating at an insane speed, and he was just one step away from jumping up and down due to excitement. This seemed to be a major step in their budding relationship. He was whipped with his own name because of how smoothly it rolled over out of Y/N's mouth. It seemed addicting.
"Can you call me that once again?" he asked with his puppy eyes. "Huh! What?" "The cute nickname you just gave me". Y/N internally facepalmed and scolded herself for being loud also cursed Taehyung in mind for having such a great hearing ability. "That was just a slip of tongue, Tae...uh...uh...I mean Taehyung." She said scratching her neck awkwardly. "No, Tae sounds good so call me just that. Okay?" He said leaving no room for discussion. "Oh, okay," she said agreeing.
"And I'll call you buttercup"
"Why buttercup?" she asked confused.
Tae's pov (in mind)– because you are most adorable tiny little being with a kind and loving heart. And also, because I love you and I want to have a pretty special nickname for my pretty little being, which is only restricted to me.
"Should I call you shortie then?" he just said that so she would agree to his chosen nickname, knowing very well how much she hates being called short. She scrunched up her nose, hmphed and crossed her hands over her chest looking away and said "Nope! Buttercup works just fine." He just chuckled at her childishness.
