Ever since Jaune saved Cardin's life from that Ursa things haven't gone the way he hoped it did every teacher wants him dead, all of the first year students bullied him, Ruby, Nora, Velvet were disappointed at Jaune, Yang, Lie, Coco would beat him up for possibly getting anyone killed, Fox, Yatsuhashi, Blake ignored him, Pyrrha and Weiss would always insult him, the only one who cared was Ozpin but he couldn't do anything since the council was being a pain to him. Jaune's mother arrived the other day and took Corcea Mors from Jaune and gave it to his twin sister Jenna who also replaced his role as the new leader of team JNPR. In sadness Ozpin told Jaune that should clear his head so Jaune walked into the Emerald forest since well it's the only place where Jaune can have peace and not get harassed by anyone. As he walked around Jaune couldn't understand it but he feels as if he's being watched by something or someone. He would keep on looking over his shoulder to see if anyone was following him, when suddenly Jaune's scroll rang, Jaune saw it was Ozpin calling me, Jaune sighed as he answered the call
"Hello? Headmaster Ozpin?
"Please Jaune, just call me Ozpin"
"Okay.... Ozpin, what is it?"
"I was able to convince the council to let you stay, but that's IF you beat Pyrrha Nikos in a duel first"
"So I guess they want to know if I am worth keeping or no?"
"Unfortunately it's the latter, they expect you to lose against ms. Nikos"
"I see.... I'll talk to you again later Ozpin"
"Alright and the duel begins tomorrow"
"I'll keep that in mind"
Jaune ended the call as he grip his scroll a bit too tight suddenly Jaune could feel a strong pull, a sense that made him follow it, it lead him to a cave, the same cave where him and Pyrrha met the Deathstalker for the first time. As Jaune followed the "path" Jaune suddenly felt a strong force, Jaune's instincts telling me to run, but instead Jaune went after it, that's when Jaune saw a stone pedestal, and on top of it was a shield with the colors red, white, and gold
"Woah" Is what all Jaune said as he touched the shield, suddenly he started feeling weaker and weaker until he eventually passes out
Hours later Jaune woke up, gotten up and looked around and saw nothing but a white void all around him "Where.... where am I?" Jaune said to himself
"We are in your mind, child" A distorted voice said startling Jaune, Jaune looked around worried seeing nothing but a white void around him until his eyes met the gaze of a creature that he has never seen in his entire life
The creature looked at him as it spoke in a growling tone "Greetings human, I am Joraal, Captain of the Golden God Warriors"
While Jaune was completely terrified he had to respond "I... I am Jaune Ar- actually no it's just.... Jaune now"
"Good" Joraal said as he raises his hand as a sword manifested in his hand "Die now" Joraal said as Jaune dodged the attack and started running away from Joraal
"Pesky worm" Joraal's wings spread as he took flight and caught up to Jaune, Joraal crash towards Jaune but missed, though the impact caused a shockwave that caused Jaune trip and fall
Jaune got up and looked behind him and saw Joraal slowly getting up as Jaune ran again 'Is this really the end!? Am I gonna die here!?' Jaune said to himself as he suddenly remembered what Joraal said 'Mind.... he's in my mind? Wait....' Jaune stopped as he thought of Corcea Mors, that's when the sword and shield appeared in both his hands, suddenly Jaune realizes something he turned around to look at Joraal who was nowhere to be seen until Jaune looked up and saw nothing
Jaune said in relief thinking he somehow outran Joraal, only for the ground to erupt underneath him as he was now being held by Joraal's arm stretching out of the ground soon the rest of Joraal's body emerged from the ground as Joraal forced Jaune to look at him
"GAME OVER CHILD" Joraal yelled as he slowly began crushing Jaune, that's when Jaune disappeared from his hand as Joraal looked around for any sight of the blonde knight
Below Joraal's feet was Jaune hiding underneath Joraal, Jaune couldn't believe Joraal didn't die since he was thinking of the monster's death but somehow can't
'So this guy can't be part of my mind? Maybe he came from the shield? No that's not possible and I'm not crazy like Ruby! But that's the only thing I could think of' Jaune said to himself as suddenly he was blown down, Jaune looked up and saw Joraal in the sky with the monster's wings spread wide that made him look menacing
Joraal looked at the boy "Impressive for you to hide below me boy, I really didn't think of you to do that, but it all ends here" Joraal said as the winged monsters rapidly descended down
Joraal was flying down fast and Jaune thought of something to possibly win and survive this battle. Joraal flew closer and closer at Jaune, the ground began to shake as a massive CCT tower came out of the ground below Jaune's feet as he was carried up by it
Caught in surprise Joraal crashed into the CCT tower causing it to break and fall down towards Joraal crushing the monster meanwhile Jaune thought of escape so he disappeared and re-appeared below in the aftermath next to Joraal's crushed body
Jaune sighed in relief thinking that the nightmare is over, that's when the ground began to shake again as Jaune's eyes widen in disbelief
He saw Joraal slowly getting up hearing the monster's flesh and bones merging together again as some metal beams began to fall out of his body, Jaune couldn't believe it Joraal came back
Joraal noticed Jaune as Joraal kneeled down before him bowing down to Jaune as Jaune himself was now shocked about the turn of events
"Uhm.... what?" Jaune looked at Joraal confused, that's when the creature looked at him
"You have bested me in combat, in all the many times I've reincarnated myself some of my hosts either accepted their fate or tried to run, but you.... you decided to fight me like a few of my past hosts and won, even outsmarting me by crushing me with this.... large weapon" Joraal spoke while Jaune was baffled at two things, first was about the creature thinking that the CCT was a weapon and second was that he wasn't the first one to meet Joraal
"Thank you for the compliment but I.... I'm not worthy of such praise" Jaune said looked down
"Nonesense a warrior like you has bested me, a Darkin of war, how could a warrior like you think that you are not worthy of such praise!?" Joraal yelled in disbelief and anger meeting someone who isn't feeling proud of beating him
Jaune explained his story to Joraal, the Darkin is baffled at the situation Jaune is in, the Darkin is angered since Jaune is being denied of his dreams in becoming a protector of mankind from the abominations like him that roam in this world
"How could they? Do they even know of your intentions young one!?" Joraal yelled as Jaune looked down
"They never gave me the chance to explain why I-" Jaune was cut off as Joraal slammed his fist into the ground beside Jaune
"Apologies young one, but I can't hold on to the anger I have hearing of these huntsmen and huntress in training, and from what I see despite your lack of fighting skills, your planning and decision making is truly incredible" Joraal spoke as Jaune looked away feeling flattered
"I don't think summoning a tower to crush you count as skill"
"Nonesense, it was still a part of your plan that you adapted from" After that a long silence fell upon them both as Joraal thought of an idea
"How about I help you become stronger? I can help you achieve your dreams and give you power to become a hero" Joraal said tempting Jaune, but Jaune knew there would be a catch, I mean there always is
"Sounds promising, but what's the catch?" Jaune said as Joraal told him about a war between Icathia and Shurima, the fall of Icathia, the fall of Shurima, the Darkin war, the rune wars, and finally the shattering of the moon all of those events have something Joraal wants
"So all you want is purpose and a reason to live?" Jaune said feeling sorry for Joraal and the other Darkin
"Yes" Is what Joraal only said as Jaune held his hand out to Joraal as Joraal grabbed and shook his hand
Jaune suddenly woke up from the ground, he took out his scroll and noticed that not much time has passed so he left the cave and walked back to Beacon with a smile and a new friend by his side
