"You know that I never treated you differently because of your family situation."

"But your mom despises me, or why else would Uncle Watanabe die? If Uncle Watanabe didn't save me back then, then… I would have been the one to die, and I wouldn't be sitting here today."

"Lisa…" It was brutal for Jungkook to recollect this painful memory.

He already tried his best to make amends, but he knew that was an unerasable nightmare for Lisa.

She had been carrying around such a heavy mental baggage for all these years…

However, what could he do? The person who orchestrated this was his mother. Could he kill her? It was impossible.

"Jungkook, I didn't bring this up on purpose. I just wanted to let you know that at one time, I hated myself for what I was, and I hated that man for not giving me a reasonable identity back then. Now that I'm older, I won't ever give him the chance to take advantage of me."

"I know."

"I know that you're the only one who understands me, or else, you wouldn't release an announcement that completely aligns with what I was feeling. Sometimes, I don't think that I'm so miserable anymore, because at least there's someone who understands me in this world. He knows what I'm thinking about, he is willing to listen to all the pain I'm going through, he wants to be by my side, and he helps me heal the wounds in my heart."

Lisa was usually either distracted or would avoid the sentimental topics that Jungkook tried to bring up.

However, now that she brought this up herself, Jungkook didn't know what to do.

"Jungkook, if I lose everything one day and only have you left, will you still be by my side?"

"Of course."

"Me too, if you lose everything one day, or are no longer the President of JC, or Dr. Jungkook, the miraculous neurosurgeon, or the dreamy Jungkook that's completely invincible, I'm still willing to be with you. If the whole world betrays you, then I will betray the entire world with you, without hesitation."

"So… Mrs. Jeon, are you confessing your love for me?" After all this time listening to her, Jungkook thought that this girl seemed to be confessing her love today.

"Love my ass! Eat, I'm starving." Lisa changed the subject again at the most sentimental part.

To prevent Jungkook's enteritis from happening again, she especially told him to eat more wasabi for antibacterial purposes.

The two ate dinner happily, and while they ate, her brother sent a WeChat message saying that he had read the statement, and that he and mother were both very happy.

This problem seemed to be taken care of, as no matter how much trouble Sooyoung and Nancy tried to stir up, no one seemed to care.

Even though everyone knew that Lisa was the illegitimate daughter of the Oh Family, Lisa didn't think it was a scandalous thing.

This all happened over twenty years ago, so if anyone dug it out, it would only be done to cause a short-term sensation.

After this passed, who cared about whose daughter she was? Plus, the statement had already declared that she would never return to the Oh family and would have nothing to do with the Oh family, so naturally, no one would approach her anymore to get anything from her.

It was also safe to say that those little nurses at the recuperation center would no longer chase her around for Sehun's number…

After dinner, the two held hands as they walked out of the restaurant. The wind was heavy at night, so Jungkook took off his jacket and put it on Lisa. He held her hand as they got into the car.

Jungkook's car was the only Maybach with imperial-tier configuration in the city, and the license plate was also extremely identifiable.

As they waited for the lights at an intersection, Mrs. Jeon, Jungkook’s mother slightly frowned inside a black Bentley.

"Look at that, is that my son's car?" Mrs. Jeon asked her driver.

"Seems like it." The driver looked at the license plate to make sure.

"Why is there a woman in his car? Follow him, let's take a look." Mrs. Jeon was suddenly interested; she thought she saw a woman with long hair sitting in the passenger's seat.

The driver, heard Mrs. Jeon and immediately went after the Maybach.

Jungkook carelessly looked in the rear-view mirror and noticed that something was wrong.

They originally planned to head home, but he immediately took a sharp turn towards another direction.

"Hey, that's not the way home," Lisa immediately reminded him.

"We're not going home. Let's go for a ride, since we hardly get the chance to."

Lisa was speechless…

Was it a good idea to drive around on a cold night? However, she believed in Jungkook's decisions in doing things.

Lisa asked no more, but she suddenly realized something as she watched Jungkook take odd turns around small and big streets.

She looked in the rear-view mirror. "So we've been followed."

"That's my mom's car," Jungkook said.

"Oh." Jungkook's mother treated Lisa like a mortal enemy, and it was the same the other way around.

Lisa didn't even want to hear another word about her...

After ten or so minutes of turning around in circles, they finally lost the black Bentley. After Jungkook drove around the main sqaure one last time, they returned to Imperial Park.

"What is happening?" Mrs. Jeon felt anxious, because she wanted to see the woman her son was spending time with, but they had lost the car.

"Sorry, Mrs. Jeon. Young Master drove too fast. Plus, he took small roads and one-way streets. We lost him."

"Fine, then let's head back now."

- Back at the Jeon family Manor -

Mrs. Jeon immediately took out her phone and called a number.

Yerim had a facial mask on, and when she saw the caller ID, she immediately picked up and answered politely, "Mrs. Jeon."

"Were you just in Jungkook's car?" asked Mrs. Jeon.

"No, I wasn't," Yerim replied honestly.

"Oh, I just saw a woman in Jungkook's passenger seat, and I thought it was you," Mrs. Jeon knew that Yerim had very short hair, but the woman in the car had a very long hair, so they were completely different people. She only asked this to see whether Yerim would lie, but luckily she was quite honest.

"Oh, it might be the client that came from Taipei today. She's the manager of a collaboration project, and President Jeon was busy the entire day, so Assistant Lee might have set the meeting at night."

Yerim reacted fast and immediately made up a person…

Even though she also wanted to know who the woman inside Jungkook's car was.

"Oh, so that's who it was? I think I must have been overthinking things, how are things with you and Jungkook lately?"

"President Jeon treats me very well, but the company is really busy so we don't have much private time together."

"Busy is good, but you should still think about yourself. As a girl, you should also be a bit more assertive. Jungkook isn't that aloof and you're so pretty, he'll fall for you sooner or later," advised Mrs. Jeon.

"I know, thanks for being so kind, Mrs. Jeon."

After the call ended, Yerim thought for a moment, and then she dialed Jungkook's number.

Jungkook and Lisa had just arrived home; when he saw the caller ID, he noticed that it was an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"Hi, President Jeon, I'm Yerim."

"What is it?" Jungkook spoke formally as he took off his jacket.

"Mrs. Jeon just called me to say that she saw a woman in your car, and I told her that it was a client from Taipei."

"Okay." Before Yerim could finish, Jungkook hung up.

Yerim bit her lips; she was unhappy that she had been rejected, again and again…

Just as Jungkook prepared to sit down and watch the financial news, he heard a scream from upstairs.

"Aah!!"

Jungkook immediately ran up the stairs when he heard Lisa's scream...

"Lisa, what's wrong?" Jungkook hurriedly knocked on the door of the washroom.

"I…I…." Lisa was too embarrassed to talk.

"What happened?" Jungkook was worried to death.

"Kook, my period came early." Lisa wanted to cry, but she couldn't let it out.

Her period had always been perfectly on time, and she thought it wouldn't begin for another four days.

However, it decided to suddenly come today, which left her not knowing what to do…

"So… what should I do?" Jungkook also didn't know what to do.

A woman's menstrual cycle didn't seem to be something men could help with.

"I don't think… there is any pads left at home, so could you buy some for me?" Lisa couldn't come out of the washroom because her pants were stained, so she had to hide inside.

"Okay," Jungkook awkwardly said that one word, and then he headed downstairs.

Five minutes later, Lisa's phone rang…

"Hello?"

"Which brand do you want?" Jungkook asked in all seriousness.

"Uhm… any kind,"

"Length?"

"Uhm… longer than 38 centimeters?"

"For daytime or night time use?"

"Ahem… a pack of each would be fine,"

"Okay." Jungkook hung up.

Lisa was tormented by this awkward conversation between her and Jungkook.

Men didn't seem to understand anything at all, but she couldn't blame Jungkook, as this was the first time he went out to buy stuff like that.

Not only were there plenty of brands, but there were also different lengths, different ones for night or day, and even different materials such as mesh, cotton, or silk...

It was too complicated, and too much information.

Five minutes later, Jungkook returned.

From the washroom door, Lisa was shocked when he handed the bags of pads to her.

There were more than twenty packages...

"Why did you buy so much?" Lisa was speechless.

"You can save it to use for later."

"Okay… you really know how to prepare for a rainy day."

Ten minutes later, Lisa finally slowly walked out from inside.

Jungkook pointed to a bowl on the coffee table. "Drink that."

'What's that?" Lisa froze.

"Poison."

"-_-"

"It's brown sugar water, right?" Lisa guessed what it was from the deep red color.

"Then why did you still ask if you knew?"

"You know to make me brown sugar water? Talk about being knowledgeable." Lisa smiled and looked at Jungkook.

"I just searched on my phone, apparently it's good during times like this."

"Okay, Mr. Jeon, thank you for being considerate, you're as considerate as my Whisper."

Jungkook slightly frowned. "Whisper?"

"Nevermind." Lisa didn't say anything more; she held up the bowl and finished all the brown sugar water. After all, it was prepared by her man.

That night in bed, Lisa looked at Jungkook, and hesitantly said, "I'm on my period today, can you sleep on your own bed? It's not so convenient for us tonight."

"You say it as if I get to do things to you when you're not on your period."

"-_-"

"Go to sleep, don't worry about it." Before Lisa could say anything, Jungkook directly let himself onto her bed.

Lisa laid down unsettlingly…

During her last few periods, she just happened to be working night shifts, so she managed to avoid him.

However, this was the first time she slept with Jungkook on her period, which felt somewhat strange.

Lisa laid flat and felt sore around her waist; she would always get cramps on her first day.

Plus, she also bled a lot on her first day, so she never slept well, because she didn't dare to move around so much.

Suddenly, a hot hand pressed onto her stomach…

It scared her…

"You…"

"They say that this could lessen the pain," Jungkook softly rubbed her stomach after he spoke.

Lisa now didn't know how to respond, "Did you search for this online as well?"

"Yes."

"Honey, could we discuss something for later?"

"Yeah."

"Could we not search for these random things anymore on the internet? I'm only on my period, I'm not pregnant, I don't want to be so needy."

The truth was, she didn't mind Jungkook searching these stuff up, but her stomach was too sensitive, and she couldn't stand him pressing his hand there.

She felt completely overwhelmed…

Jungkook sighed slightly. "The internet is right."

"What do you mean?" Lisa turned around to look at Jungkook curiously.

"Don't try to reason with a biological creature that bleeds seven days a month, because women are the most insane existence in the universe."

Lisa was shocked once again…

She should truly consider cutting off the home internet now. Letting Jungkook go on the internet was basically inviting stress onto her sanity.

The next morning, Lisa saw a familiar face during her shift at South Side.

He froze when he saw Lisa as well.

"Taeyong?" Lisa was somewhat surprised.

"Lisa… why are you here?"

"I was transferred here a long time ago, and I no longer work at Asan medical centre. Why are you here?"

"My dad is suffering from cerebral thrombosis due to excessive drinking. He has been recovering in the hospital for a while, and he wants to stay here. They say that this place is good for recovery."

"Yes, that's right. We're very careful with the food and medication we give to our patients here, and the overall surroundings are nice as well. There's also plenty of acclaimed specialists. It's definitely much better here than at home."

"Yes, but you guys don't seem to have any rooms left over at the neurosurgery department." Embarrassed, Taeyong scratched his head.

Ever since he failed to lend Lisa money last time, he thought of himself as less of a man. He felt humiliated that he couldn't deliver what he promised.

So, he didn't even speak much anymore in the WeChat group, and after Lisa and Jungkook left the group, he felt much better.

However, Chaeyoung knew of all of this, and she would occasionally make fun of him.

He never expected to see Lisa here; he only saw her on the news a while back.

However, he knew that with Jungkook around, nothing would happen to Lisa.

That was the truth; thanks to Jungkook, Lisa was able to dodge every bullet that came her way.

"Oh, I see. Wait here for a second, I'll go ask." After Lisa spoke, she went back to the on-call booth to call the head nurse.

The head nurse said that there were rooms in the neurosurgery department, but it was based on the patient's identity and status.

Normally, the hospital would use "no vacancy" as an excuse to get rid of those without any power or background.

"Head Nurse, could you help me out? This is my classmate's dad, and he is suffering from cerebral thrombosis. He wants to stay here for recovery, and it's pretty hard on the old man."

"Okay, I'll call the Neurosurgery Department for you."

Luckily, the head nurse was a nice person, and shortly afterward, she called Lisa back and told her that she got a room for her.

"Taeyong, I helped you reserve room 9. You can take your father over there right away."

"Really? Thanks, Lisa."

"Not at all, go. His condition is dire, so call me anytime if you need anything. I'll be here in the Orthopedics Department.

"Okay."

Taeyong was filled with gratitude because Lisa had helped his father find a room, but, at the same time, he felt even more embarrassed to face her.

At noon, before Lisa could head over to the cafeteria for lunch, she was still reading patients' charts when Taeyong walked over with food.

"I bought you lunch."

"You didn't have to do this." Lisa raised her head and smiled.

"Yes, I do. Plus, it's not anything expensive. I remember that back in high school, you used to like tteokbokki, so I bought you some when I was out getting lunch for dad."

"Thanks." Lisa smiled and took the bento box.

"Lisa, I'm truly sorry about what happened before."

"Before… oh, it's fine, it's all in the past. You don't need to apologize, it's nothing."

The truth was, Lisa never hated Taeyong. She even felt thankful and lucky that Taeyong didn't lend her the money.

If it weren't for him, she would never have ended up with Jungkook… In the end, Taeyong helped her reunite with Jungkook.

"But my feelings for you are real, and all I can say is that… I'm not lucky enough to marry my goddess." Taeyong felt slightly regretful.

If his opponent wasn't Jungkook, or if Jungkook wasn't so powerful, he wouldn't have let her go without a fight.

"Goddess? Don't put me on a pedestal, I'm just a common nurse."

Just then, Taeyong's phone rang; after saying goodbye to Lisa, he walked out while on the phone.

Lisa opened the bento box and ate the tteokbokki with great appetite…

"You sure have a way with men." Coincidentally, Jimin saw what just happened.

Even though he couldn't hear what they said, he saw that man give food to Lisa and Lisa smiling back at him.

The truth was, he felt slight hints of jealousy...

Lisa raised her head and looked at Jimin; she spoke impolitely, "You're from the stud farm yourself, so do you really have the right to judge others without any shame?"

"You little brat, what did you just call me?" Jimin was pissed.
