I'm doing this Eddie. I'm not letting them die.
And nothing you say will change my decision.
MAX TIED HER SHOES on the stairs of the Creel House. Viola bit her lips, adding more scars to the collection.
The red-head stood up and glanced back at her girlfriend before nodding and walking forwards towards where Erica's lamp was left, still brightly shinning.
Viola stood behind her, Lucas by her side. Max glanced back at them one last time before turning forwards once again and removing her headphones from her head and turning her walkman off.
"Hey!" She yelled. "Asshole! I'm here. No more music. No more games." Max told him. "Do you hear me? What are you waiting for, huh? Come on! Do you want me or not?" She baited. Viola's grip on her lip became stronger as the lamper slowly faded out to it's regular dim light. Max's lantern now lighting up.
Max looked at Lucas and Viola before walking towards the stairs, the lantern staying bright as she did. The trio walked up the stairs, arriving at the second floor. Viola held her breath as she watched the lantern grow brighter.
They were really doing this.

OLLY STOOD IN FRONT of Jonathan, stirring the bath of water and salt. He stared into and dazed off, wondering about his sisters.
What were they doing? Were they safe? Was Savannah alive? He needed to know desperately.
Oliver's grip slightly tightened around the wooden spoon which Will noticed. The Byers boy glanced at Jonathan before mumbling something along of the lines of "Screw it." and reaching over to touch Oliver's arm.
The Lockeheart boy jumped slightly. "Olly, you okay?" Jonathan looked up at the two. "Uhm, yeah." He shrugged, continuing to stir the salt bath. "Just thought. They're funny." He joked a little, trying to hold in tears.
Will frowned, grabbing his hand. "They're gonna be okay." Oliver looked up and into his boyfriends eyes. Jonathan knew that look. "I know.. I know." Oliver smiled. "I know."
The eldest Byers child watched the exchange, his eye's softening as he fully realized. "Hey," He suddenly said. "do you remember that time you told me you had a Lego stuck up your nose?" Jonathan asked his brother who turned beet red and looked over at Oliver, slightly embarrassed. "What?" He asked. "Yeah. Like, it was like a.. it was like a construction guy. You'd call him Larry. Come on! You don't remember?" Jonathan asked. "He had lile that high viz jacket and removable hat?" He made a gesture that looked like he was removing a hat.
Oliver looked at the brothers, amused. "Yeah. Vaguely." He muttered. Jonathan shrugged. "Well, I remember it like it was yesterday." He informed. "Man, I was.. I was freaked. 'Cause.. 'cause this Larry... I mean, Larry was way, way up there." Oliver laughed and glanced at Will. "I don't even know how you got him that far up. I had to do surgery. I.. I had to get tweezers to pull him out." He exaggerated.
"Bull." Will rolled his eyes. Jonathan chuckled and glanced at Oliver who was enjoying this. "No. No, I swear on my life." He stirred the salt bath once again as he trailed off. Jonathan then sighed and slowly his stirring came to a stop. "I dunno, it's just..." He paused. "I feel like you used yo come to me more for help. Or to just.. talk, you know? 'Cause, like, you don't do that anymore. Not like before." He said to his brother.
Oliver just continued to stir the salt, listening to the conversation as he did. "A lot of that is probably my fault. This last year.." He sighed. ".. I know I've been distant." Will shook his head. "Or stoned." He said. Oliver held back a chuckle. "Or stoned." Jonathan agreed. "Yeah. But that has nothing to do with you. And that's me dealing with my own shit. Hiding from my own problems." He shrugged.
Will looked over to Oliver nervously as Jonathan continued. "The truth is, I miss talking to you. I, like, really miss it. And I think, right now," Jonathan glanced over at Oliver. "we need to talk more than ever." Oliver looked up from the water. "Because things are getting just complicated. Alright? A lot more complicated than Legos up the nose, you know?" Will laughed and shook his head. "I just... I don't want you to forget that I'm here. And I'll always be here. No matter what. Because you're my brother. And I love you."
Will continued to nod as he understood what Jonathan was getting at. "And there is nothing in this world, okay, absolutely nothing, that will ever change that. You got that?" Will smiled a soft smile as he nodded again. "Yeah." His voice quavered making Oliver smile. "And I'm always here for you too." He told his older brother. "I know." Jonathan nodded before pulling his spoon out and walking over to Will, pulling him into a hug.
Oliver watched with a smile, a smile because he knew that feeling. The feeling of acceptance, the weight that is lifted off of your shoulders when someone finally knows. The feeling of someone loving you for who you are no matter what.
Jonathan glanced over at the Lockeheart boy, making a "Come here" motion with his hand. Oliver smiled and dropped the stick, joining the hug.
He felt warm and fuzzy when he hugged Will and Jonathan. The same feeling he got whenever her hugged anyone he loved. And he loved it so much.
They pulled away, Will sucking his tears up and glancing at Oliver with a wide smile. "I think it's ready." Jonathan told the younger boys. "Yeah." They said in sync, sniffling.
With that the three exited the kitchen to see the other three eating pizza. "It's time." Jonathan told them. Eleven looked over at them and sucked in a deep breath.
They all walked into the kitchen, Eleven removing her socks and what not to get ready. Jonathan brought in a radio while Oliver handed the girl the cardboard-covered sunglasses Mike had made. Eleven put them on before slowly submerging herself into the water in a starfish position. The five boys just surrounded the once pizza freezer.
A couple seconds after El settled into the water the kitchen lights above them began to flicker. "Wild." Argyle said, very fascinated.
Only a couple seconds later did Eleven speak. "I found them." She said. Oliver's posture straightened. "They're carrying a light. A blue light." She described.
She was right. The trio was walking through the dark attic, the lamp leading them to the middle of the room where it glowed brightest. They stood in silence, watching the light before the glow slowly died and dimmed back to it's regular brightness.
Max looked at the lantern, confused. She turned to the duo besides her. "What are you waiting for, asshole?" Max sneered. "Hmm? I'm right here. I'm right here!" Her voiced echoed.
"Okay, El, what's going on?" Mike asked, leaning over the side of the tub. "It's not working." She told them. "What? What's not working?" Will asked. "Max's plan."
"I know you can hear me." Max said. "I know you can read my thoughts. Even the worst ones." She whispered. "Maybe mostly the worse ones." Viola's eyes softened as her girlfriend lowered the lantern onto the attic floor. The red-head looked towards Viola before taking her walkman off and putting it besides the lantern.
With that the red-head sat down on the dusty and dirty floor. Max pulled her legs to her chest. "I thought about what you said. About how I wanted my brother to die." Max paused, glancing towards Viola. "I thought that you were just trying to upset me. To anger me. But you weren't, were you. You were just telling the truth."
Viola felt her eyes pool with tears. "Billy, he made my life living hell. Every chance he got. So, sometimes... when I would lie in bad at night, I would... I would pray.." Max sniffed though her runny nose. "..I would pray that something would happen to him. Something awful. I knew that he drove too fast, so I would imagine him crashing. Dying in that stupid car." She admitted. "I just.. I wanted him out of my life. Forever. I wanted him to disappear."
Lucas glanced at the Lockeheart girl besides him who looked weirdly calm. He didn't know why or how she looked calm even with the tears that fell. But it was simple. Practice.
"The day that he died.. I think that's why I just stood there. Watched. Not because I was scared.. or.. or weak. But because..." She trailed off. "I didn't know if he deserved to be saved." Max let a tear fall down her face as her voice cracked with the next sentence. "And I've tried to forgive myself. I've tried, but.. I can't. I can't." She shook her head. "So now.. now, when I lie in bed at night.. I pray that something will happen to me. That something terrible will happen to me." Max confessed.
Viola didn't look calm anymore, instead to looked scared. Lucas didn't know why until he looked back at Max, noticing her quietness. That's when he saw her eyes rolled back and her breathing uneveen.
"Shit." Viola muttered, grabbing Lucas' arm and slightly shaking him. "Warn the others. Now."
lights above the five began to flicker rapidly. Oliver looked around, slightly scared. He looked over at Will who shared the same look.
Back in Surfer Boys, the lights above the group flickered rapidly. "What's happening now?" Mike asked. "I think I am in a memory." Eleven answered Mike. "A Max memory." She spoke. "Do you see her? Do you see Max?" Will questioned. "No." She answered. "But she's here. She has to be here."

"SHE'S IN. MOVE ON to phase three." Robin's voice came through the walkie. Savannah let out a stressed breath as blood entered her mouth due to biting on her cheek.
"Copy that. Initiating phase three." Dustin replied. Savannah passed him the cord which he connected to the speaker. "Let's hope they hear this." He muttered to himself. The feedback made Jasper cover her ears. She absolutely hated that sound.
Eddie sighed, removing his guitar pick from around his neck. "Chrissy, this is for you." He whispered to himself forcing his pick across the strings of the guitar, Master of Puppets by Metallica beginning.
Dustin smiled and bopped his head along with the beat as Eddie continued, calm at first. Savannah would be lying if she said this wasn't impressive.
Jasper took the binoculars from around Dustin's neck and looked out as the sky seeing the bats coming into range. "Eddie!" She yelled. "We gotta lock down in T-minus thirty seconds!" She yelled. Dustin made a three and a zero with his hands. Eddie nodded at the three, continuing to play the guitar.
"T-minus twenty!" Dustin yelled as he glanced at the baths through the binoculars. Eddie nodded once more before continuing onto the guitar solo. Savannah watched with a smile, she had always wanted to see Metallica perform live. This was good enough though, better even.
"T-minus ten!" Dustin yelled once more. Savannah let out a large breath as Eddie continued, the bats getting closer and closer. "Five!" Jasper yelled. A couple more seconds. "One!" Dustin yelled. Eddie ended the solo.
Savannah jumped up and quickly unplugged the cords, Jasper grabbed her hands and pulled her towards the edge of the roof and followed the boys by jumping off. "Move! Move!" Eddie yelled, helping the girls down. "Come on!" Dustin called as he rounded the corner to the front of the house.
The four entered the gated door way just in time as the bats slammed against the once opened gate door.
Savannah's eyes widened as her face was inches away from the gate, so she came face to face with the bat. Jasper quickly pulled her away and inside her beloved home.
The small group panted as they caught their breath. "Dude." Dustin panted. "Most metal ever!" He yelled beginning to jump up and down with Eddie. The two girls couldn't help but laugh at them as they hollered with excitement.

"I FOUND HER." ELEVEN suddenly said. "She's with Vee.. but they're young." She described. "They can't see me. Can't hear me."
Oliver leaned over. "Do you see anything weird in the memory?" He asked. "Any sign of Vecna or.. or the Mind Flayer?" Will added to Oliver's question.
Eleven's head slightly shook. "No everything.. is normal." She said. It went quiet for a moment. "There it something that doesn't fit." She said suddenly. "I think it is another memory." Eleven guessed. "A memory within a memory?" Argyle said fascinated.
"What is it? That doesn't fit?" Oliver asked. "It's just.. just a house. It looks like yours." Eleven whispered. Oliver knew what memory it was, what memory that was. And he couldn't help but slightly smile.

VIOLA SAT NEXT TO Max, holding her hand tight. "She's still under." She whispered, looking over to Lucas who cursed before turning back to the boarded window, flashing his light through it.
"What the hell is taking so long?" Lucas whispered his question.
The Lockeheart girl looked over at her girlfriend, lightly placing a hand on her cheek. "Come on, Red. Please." She whispered. Viola looked back over to Lucas before standing up and joining his side. "What's wrong with them?" She whispered.
The squeaking of floorboards made Viola freeze. No one else should be walking around, unless it was Lucas but he was besides her. Who the hell was behind them.
Viola slowly turned seeing the star of the basketball, looking down at Max. "Jason?" Lucas questioned, taking into account that he was in the room. "You can't be here right now, man." Lucas told him.
"The hell have you done?" Jason asked, looking down at Max. "Jason. You need to leave." Viola said,
stepping forwards slightly as he walked towards Max. "Is this what you did to Chrissy." He asked, crouching besides her. "Don't you fucking touch her." She said sternly. Jason glanced up ay the protective girl.
Viola narrowed her eyes at him, which intimidated Jason. "Hi. Can.. can you hear me?" He waved a hand in front of Max's face. "Jason, don't touch her!" Viola snapped. "We're not messing around." Lucas told him.
The Lockeheart girl walked towards Jason faster. "Please just—" Jason quickly stood up. "Hey, back up! Back up!" He pointed a gun at Viola making Lucas step forwards quickly, grabbing her arm. "Not another step." The blonde ordered. Lucas put his hands up, Viola didn't though. She wasn't scared. Not of him.
"Wa.. wait. We.. we don't have to do this." Lucas said. "We don't have to do this." He said as Jason ready-ed his gun. "I hope you're right." He spoke lowly. "Is there anyone else in the house?" He questioned the two.
Viola shook her head. "No. No." She answered. "Turn around." He said. "Make me." She bit back. "Vee." Lucas whispered, trying to get the girl to listen. "Turn around!" Jason yelled loudly. Viola slightly jumped. "Fuck you." She sneered as her and Lucas began to turn around. "And put down your flashlight." He ordered.
Lucas crouched down quickly and placed the flashlight down. "And empty your pockets." He ordered. Viola's eyes widened. She stuffed her hands in her pockets, feeling the pocket knife Savannah had given her. She maneuvered it into her sleeve to hide it as she and Lucas turned their pockets inside out.
"Okay." Viola slowly slipped the knife into her hands. "Now, this is what's gonna happen. I'm gonna back away to the top of the stairs there. Then I'll watch as one of you wake her ip from whatever the hell this is." He instructed. Lucas shook his head. "We can't." He told the blonde. Viola turned around with Lucas. "Jason. If I wake her too soon, we all die." He revealed.
Jason scoffed. "If you don't wake her up right now, you both die, Sinclair." He told them, clicking the safety lock on the gun off. "Just you two."
Viola shook her head. They were fucked.

THE FOUR STOOD BACK-to-back, walking in a circle as bats flew into the side of the trailer which caused loud bangs to echo through the room.
The slamming soon stopped and it went eerily quiet. "Hey, dipshits!" Dustin yelled. "Give up that easy, huh?" He yelled. "Shh!" Jasper shushed the boy. "Is that really necessary?" She asked.
Another slam echoed making the four shut up. "They're on the roof." Eddie told them as dragging and scraping was head above them. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuckity fuck." Savannah mumbled as they followed the sound towards a vent in the corner of the room. "They can't get through there, can they?" Dustin asked as they stood below it, weapons drawn.
Just them the vent came loose and a bats head popped out. "They can." Savannah muttered. The two boys suddenly yelled single the girls jump as they ran forwards and began to attack the single bat that peaked through the vent. The two girls soon joined.
"Die! Die!" They yelled together as they jabbed their sharp staffs at the bats. "Come on, you sons of bitches!" Jasper yelled frustrated as they continued to jab their weapons at the predators.
Eddie stopped jabbing at the bats, the other three struggling. "Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" The Munson boy yelled. The three quickly moved out of the way and Eddie quickly ran and shoved one of their nail covered shields onto the vent to cover it.
He slowly released and let out a breath. "Nice." Jasper complimented his cousin. "Thanks." He sighed. The cousins high-fived each other. "Sorry to interrupt the nice family bonding, but are there any other vents they could get through?" Savannah asked. Eddie and Jasper's face dawned with realization at the same time. "Oh, shit." They said in sync.
The Munson boy quickly took off towards his room, entering it but right as the four did the bats broke through the vent. "Close the door!" Jasper yelled as the bats came flying at them. Eddie quickly closed the door and the four ran back towards the small living room where the gate was.
Savannah's breath caught in her throat as she watched the bats try and break through the door. She quickly grabbed the extra shield and picked it up, passing the other extra to Eddie. "That's not gonna hold!" Dustin yelled. "Let's go! Let's go!" Eddie said.
Savannah quickly hoisted Dustin up onto the rope, the boy quickly climbed through. Jasper then followed after. Savannah went to go but stopped and looked over at Eddie. "You first." She said, crouching down and grabbing the shield as well as the spear. "Hey, woah, woah. Where are you going?" He asked as he looked back at the white wooden door that was about to burst open. "They need more time," Savannah told him. "this isn't enough."
Eddie looked up and hesitated. "Guys, come on! Please, guys, you're so close! Let's go!" Dustin and Jasper pleaded from the other side. "I'm doing this Eddie. I'm not letting them die." She said, beginning to make her way towards the exit of the house. "And nothing you say will change my decision."
