Galactic Intelligence Agency
The G.I.A., the primary law enforcement agency in the universe, is an intergalactic organization in charge of conducting security duties and investigating crimes across the galaxy.
Type: Law enforcement agency
Abbreviation: G.I.A
Headquarters:
* Tranta System
* Various locations across the universe
General nature: Law Enforcement and Intergalactic Security
Formation: In Earth years, it was in the 1600s
Founded by: The Intergalactic Council
Years active: 400 (Earth years)
First mentioned/appeared: Season 2
Objectives
The primary objective of the G.I.A. is to maintain peace across the universe. They are an unbiased organization with space stations in every star system and smaller stations orbiting every inhabited planet.
They perform peacekeeping missions across the universe and assist planets in need. They specialize in intergalactic crimes, including smuggling, alien trafficking, galactic terrorism, and other crimes. They also serve as investigators for offences committed outside the scope of a single planet.
They will also intervene in planetary wars, such as the Second Ragnarok on New Asgard. The G.I.A. tries not to get involved with planet Civil Wars, but in some circumstances, it is required.
The G.I.A. also operates several universal prisons. Each prison is designed to accommodate different species at varying levels of security. There are minimal-security, moderate-security, high-security, and the Void Prison. That last prison is designed to hold the worst criminals in universal history.
The Void Prison is located inside a small pocket dimension only accessible by a Space Bridge. No one has ever escaped this prison.

History
The G.I.A. was formed when several Ambassadors for planets across the universe realized that there needed to be an unbiased organization conducting law enforcement for the galaxy. These ambassadors created the Intergalactic Council and travelled to other planets gaining allies for their cause, and eventually, they were big enough to establish the G.I.A. As the years went by, more planets joined the agency, and it grew bigger and bigger with every new ally.
Eventually, the G.I.A. established universal laws enforced by the Intergalactic Court. This court comprises appointed judges from across the universe who work together to develop new laws and deal out punishment for crimes committed under G.I.A. jurisdiction.
They would also create the Intergalactic Summit. This event takes place every five years, and every planet ambassador comes to represent their planet as they discuss universal changes. There are also Star System Summits involving the planets within a star system, but these are only held every three years on a designated planet.
The last planet to join the G.I.A. was Earth. When it was discovered that intelligent life had evolved on the planet, other planets wanted to see what would happen if they did not intervene in the Earth's and human development. And so the planet was isolated from the rest of the universe and left to evolve independently.
In the early 1800s, the G.I.A. travelled to Earth to establish a connection between the planet and the rest of the universe. The G.I.A. found several humans accepting of life beyond the stars, one of whom was Adalet's ancestor on Aslan's side of the family. These 12 humans helped establish the Earth branch of the G.I.A. and were a part of the first step in integrating Earth into universal society.
As of season 2, the G.I.A. is in the process of convincing the rest of the universe to let the human race be a part of universal society. The Earth branch hopes to win the vote at the upcoming Intergalactic Summit that will happen during season 3. If Earth earns the votes of the majority of the planetary ambassadors, humans will be introduced to the world beyond the sky within the following year.
(They've had a plan for Earth's integration for decades. Maria originally began developing it when she joined the organization, and other agents and Earth Ambassadors have contributed to it over the years. Hence why the integration will be so efficient.)
Following the Intergalactic Summit during season 3, Earth has been approved for universal integration. The process will take place between seasons 3 & 5 (technically during season 4). It will start with an announcement to Earth about the existence of other life in the universe, which will lead to humans being introduced to universal society. Once the initial shock and chaos has worn off, members of the GIA who have volunteered to live and work alongside humans across the globe to help will begin this phase by moving to Earth
Space Stations/Headquarters
Tranta System
This is the home of the Galactic Intelligence Agency's headquarters. It's located on a planet that the G.I.A. converted entirely into the agency's base of operations over the past 400 years. It looks like a futuristic city with skyscrapers and floating buildings for the G.I.A's various needs.
Some of the structures found on this planet include:
* G.I.A. HQ
* G.I.A. training facilities
* Housing for agents
* The intergalactic courthouse
* The Galactic Summit Hall
* Prisons
* Spaceship builders and repair garages
* Research facilities
* Hospitals
* Shopping districts
* And much more!
Mythos System
Home to the planets where Earth gets some of its mythologies, the Mythos System is the northmost star system from Earth. In this star system, you will find myths including, but not limited to:
* Norse
* Greek
* Egyptian
* Celtic
* Japanese
* Aztec
Each planet is based on the lands for their respective myth. So Olympus resembles Greece, while New Asgard resembles Scandinavia.
The inhabitants of these plants often resemble humans but have superhuman abilities, such as flight, superstrength, increased durability, and longer lifespans. But some inhabitants resemble creatures from their planet's myth; like on Olympus, there are gorgons, centaurs and 100-eyed people, and on Otherworld (Celtic Mythology), you can find leprechauns, changelings, and fairies. These inhabitants have additional abilities related to their species, i.g. Gorgons can turn people to stone, and changelings can shapeshift.
The G.I.A. has a space station that orbits around the star system's sun that is the HQ for the Mythos Division of the agency. This is the primary base for all Mythoniet agents and can comfortably house up to 300 agents.
On these types of space stations, you can find:
* Docking bays for spaceships
* Med bays
* Sleeping quarters
* Kitchen/cafeterias
* Training rooms
* Boardrooms
New Asgard
Adalet's home planet, New Asgard, is themed after the nine realms in Norse mythology. More information about this planet will be revealed in its chapter, New Asgard.
While there is the Mythos Space station which orbits the sun, there are also smaller space stations that orbit each planet of the star system. These space stations are the G.I.A. HQs for each planet and can comfortably house 150 agents.
On these types of space stations, on a smaller scale, you can find:
* Docking bays for spaceships
* Med bays
* Sleeping quarters
* Kitchen/cafeterias
* Boardrooms
Solar System
The G.I.A. has a space station that orbits around the star system's sun that is the HQ for the Solar Division of the agency. This is the primary base for all Mythoniet agents and can comfortably house up to 300 agents.
On these types of space stations, you can find:
* Docking bays for spaceships
* Med bays
* Sleeping quarters
* Kitchen/cafeterias
* Training rooms
* Boardrooms
Earth
The location where the story takes place, Earth, is the home planet of the Criminal Case teams from seasons 1-8.
While there is the Solar Space station which orbits the sun, there are also smaller space stations that orbit each planet of the star system. These space stations are the G.I.A. HQs for each planet and can comfortably house 150 agents.
On these types of space stations, on a smaller scale, you can find:
* Docking bays for spaceships
* Med bays
* Sleeping quarters
* Kitchen/cafeterias
* Boardrooms
Unlike other space stations, Earth's space station uses a cloaking feature that hides it from telescopes and satellite cameras from Earth.
Equipment
Neuralyzer
The gadget of choice for Agent Z, the Neuralyzer, can wipe the mind of anybody who sees the flash by isolating and editing certain electronic impulses related to memory. It is based on the gadget of the same name in the Men In Black series. Agents use neuralyzers to erase and edit the memories of those who witness things that they shouldn't.
In-game, Agent Z used it on the PBPD team at the end of No Place Like Home. However, this never happened in my story, and the team was allowed to keep their memories about aliens.
Space Bridge/Ground Bridge
The space bridge is a form of interplanetary transport used by the G.I.A. and other organizations, allowing movement from one planet to another almost instantaneously without needing a spacecraft via a "shortcut" using interdimensional portals. However, it is required that space bridges transport between one another. A person cannot enter a space bridge if there is no usable exit at their destination.
Meanwhile, the ground bridge is a scaled-down version of a space bridge, and it allows transportation to locations within a single planet's orbit. Before transport, a ground bridge must be programmed with the destination's exact coordinates. Unlike space bridges, ground bridges can transport a person to any coordinates without having another ground bridge there for an exit.
In both cases, a portal opens at one location for an "entrance," and a second portal will open up at the destination for the "exit."
Special keys called Bridge Keys can be created and preprogrammed with sets of coordinates. These keys serve as portable ground bridges that can open portals to any of the preprogrammed locations. They are shaped like arrows with elongated points and carved from unique crystals capable of containing the energy needed to open the portal with technology integrated into the keys to program and remember coordinates.
To activate a ground bridge with a Bridge Key, you need to throw the key on the ground, and the portal will open. Once you walk through the portal and exit on the other side, the portal will automatically close after five seconds, and the key will be left behind, ready to be used again.
* The Space Bridge & Ground Bridge is based on the technology from the Transformers franchise of the same name. The Bridge Keys are based on the Battle Keys from the show Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.
Communicators
As the name implies, agents use communicators to communicate with one another. They also double as mini-super computers that have access to the G.I.A database.
Depending on the design, some communicators have additional features, but all communicators are capable of these functions:
* Accessing the G.I.A database
* Accessing other universal databases that the G.I.A has access to
* Digital Camera
* Homing/Tracking Device
* Mobile/Smart Phone
* Camera
* Satellite
* Video
* Paging
* Projection
* Hologram
* Image
* Record Images
* Technology Scrambling
* It emits a particular frequency that temporarily knocks out technology within a 30-foot radius
Some communicators are capable of additional functions, including:
* Fingerprint Scanner
* Laser
* Listening to music
* Medical Analysis
* Monitoring the user's bio signs (heart rate, breathing, temperature, etc.)
* Satellite Dish
* Video Player
* Voice Analysis
Communicators are designed to be inconspicuous and suit an agent's style and needs. The most common designs are cell phone-like devices, but there are countless designs used within the G.I.A.
Known designs include:
* Aslan's wristwatch
* Heimdall's pocket watch
* Adalet's (Anders) compass
* Magnus's necklace
* Vuk's handheld Fletris game
I got the inspiration for the communicators/supercomputers from the cartoon Totally Spies! (a.k.a my childhood!). In the show, the spies use a gadget called the Compowder. It looks like a make-up compact with a mirror and could do all the functions I listed above. I always wanted to have one as a kid!
Translator
One of the essential gadgets for an agent to have when working across a universe filled with almost as many languages as there are stars in the sky, the Translator is used by all agents. Usually, it is just an earpiece worn inside an agent's ear which translates spoken words in real-time to a language the agent understands. But sometimes, an agent will also wear a special mask that translates what they are saying and projects the translation out of small speakers. This is used when speaking to anyone not wearing an earpiece translator.
The helmets of the G.I.A spacesuits and the communicators have both features. They can translate spoken words for the agent to understand and translate and project what an agent says for others to hear.
Blasters
Blasters are the primary weapons used by the G.I.A. They resemble sleek handguns with glowing cylinders in the barrel part. These cylinders glow different colours depending on the intensity of the gun. Blue is the weakest, while red is the strongest. Blasters can stun, injure, or kill a target if the weapon is in the right setting.
Ships
These are the main source of transportation for G.I.A agents to use when travelling across the universe. I took inspiration from the ships in Star Wars, but other franchises have inspired the vessels used by the G.I.A.
Aslan's ship, the Centennial Phoenix, is based on the Millennium Falcon used by Han Solo and Chewbacca in Star Wars.
Badge/ID Card
Like other badges/ID cards used by law enforcement agencies in this series, the G.I.A badge is used to identify agents. The badge can be worn on an agent's person or kept inside a leather wallet where they keep their ID card.
G.I.A. ID cards look like small pieces of glass but are high-tech cards containing an agent's information. The ID card has a picture of the agents alongside their bio and agency information. Agents can update the information anytime, and the cards can store multiple data sets.
This is why agents like Adalet (Anders) only need to own one card. Their card has two sets of information stored inside that they can change at any time by triple tapping on a small star icon in the lower left-hand corner. They can make the card display the picture and information for Adalet or Anders at any given time.
G.I.A badge:
G.I.A ID Card:
Example of the information on the card, using Adalet:
* Surname, Firstname = Sadik-Halvorsen, Adalet
* When displaying Anders's info, the first name changes to Anders, while the rest stays the same
* Codename = Gatekeeper
* Race, Nationality = Hybrid, Human-Asgardian
* Gender = Genderfluid
* Date of Birth = August 13, 1987
* Rank = Agent
* Division = Mythos & Solar
* Branch = New Asgard & Earth
* ID Number = MSNAE-08131987AA
* ID numbers consist of the initials of an agent's division(s) and branch(s) followed by the agent's date of birth and first and middle (if applicable) initials
* So M = Mythos, S = Solar, NA = New Asgard, E = Earth, AA = Adalet Anders
Spacesuit
These are the standard suits used by G.I.A agents during space missions. They also double as flight suits for piloting spaceships and protecting agents in battle.
I have created designs for these suits, and you will find that I added information to the images.
The Suit:
The Helmet:
Full Suit:
The suits are based on the ones worn by the paladins in Voltron: Legendary Defender (2016). This suit uses Adalet's (Anders) colours.
Trivia
* The G.I.A. is composed of divisions and branches. Every Star System is classified as a division, while the planets within are considered the branches
* For example, the Solar System is a division, and Earth is a branch along with the other planets
* G.I.A. HQ in the Tranta System is the only planet that is not categorized under a division or classified as a branch
* They are funded by universal governments, with each planet providing the same amount of money to discourage the potential for bribes
* Likewise, agents cannot be paid for their services outside of their G.I.A. paycheck
* While officially they are a parody of Men In Black, I also took inspiration from Star Wars, Voltron, the "Plumbers" from Ben 10, Transformers, Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 and other shows when further designing the organization
* They have close ties with U.N.I.T and often work together on missions
* They also share research, technology and agents
* Every agent is taught how to pilot a spaceship. This certification also translates to planes, but for legal reasons, an agent needs to pass a planet's flying test to have a license to fly aircrafts within the planet's atmosphere
* Vuk promises to one day take Elijah flying on a spaceship and show his boyfriend how to operate it
* Agents can have companions like how police officers have k-9 dogs. Loki is Adalet's (Anders) companion and can accompany them on their missions
* The Directors, like Aslan, only manage the branches of the G.I.A. there isn't one person in charge of the whole G.I.A.
* Directors within a division work together to manage their divisions. For example, Aslan and the other Directors for the Solar System's planets (Mars, Venus, Jupiter, etc.) work together to manage the Solar System
* Regarding the entire G.I.A. that is under the management of the Intergalactic Council. Ambassadors are appointed to the position of Galactic Councillor and work together to operate the G.I.A.
* Every agent has a unique codename; no two active agents can have the same codename. The 12 founding members of the G.I.A. Earth branch, six men and six women, each chose a Zodiac sign as their codename
* Their descendants took on the codename when able to. Since Aslan is a descendant of the original Leo, he took on the codename when his grandfather, the previous Leo, retired from the G.I.A.
* The same is said for Vuk. On his mother's side, her ancestor was the original Pisces, so Vuk chose the codename when he joined the G.I.A.
