My eyes scanned over the paper for the hundredth time
'the week is long, the silver cat feeds when blue meets yellow in the west'
The same boring neat handwriting, the same boring words, the same annoyingly smart code.
As I sat on the back counter of scoops the bell rang over and over and over again
"excuse me! Ahoy!" Erica shouted
Robin turned around and took her headphones off
"I'd like to try the peanut butter chocolate swirl, please."Erica smiled
"No. No more samples today." Robin shook her head
"Why not?" Erica put her hands in the counter
"Because you're abusing our company policy." Robin explained
"Where's the sailor man?" Erica looked around
"Sorry he can't help you. He's busy." Robin turned back around
"Busy with what?" Erica asked
"Listen, Erica. What can I do to get you to leave?" I asked
"Uhm, get me ice cream." She crossed her arms
"If I personally buy you an ice cream, will you please leave for at least a day?" I jumped off the counter
"all day. Yeah." She leaned on the counter. I looked at Robin and handed her 3 dollars, then she started making the cone for Erica
"all day, no coming back. Not even standing around outside." I looked at Erica
"Deal." She shrugged
I sat back on the counter and picked up the notepad, it's like the words were already burned into my brain.

What could it mean?
"I got more." Robin looked at me
"What is it?" I asked picking up the pencil from beside my thigh
"a trip to China sounds nice if you tread lightly."
I wrote it down, sure she had already written it down in her notepad but she had Russian letters and words all over the place. So I keep only the code on my notepad

There was a knock on the delivery door and Robin went to go answer it.
I watched through the back window.
A man with a mustache and a hat that read 'lynx' handed a package to Robin
'lynx'
A type of cat, I slid my legs over the counter and jumped off as the guy walked away, I could see a silver cat on his back.
I pushed Robin out the way and ran out into the small hallway, I watched as the man walked away with the silver cat symbol on his back.
"Y/N, what are you?--" Robin started, I pushed her again and jumped back over the counter, grabbing my notepad in the process
"Silver cat." I mumbled
"Yo, Y/N, you're not gonna believe--" Steve started as he saw me walking towards them, I picked up my page and ran past them.
I stood on a huge marble plant holder, looking around as gears whirled in my head
"A trip to China sounds nice." I mumbled, spinning around quickly. Colors blurred as I stopped, seeing the Chinese place in the food quart 'Imperial Panda'
"A trip to China sounds nice." I repeated "If you read lightly" I looked up to the second floor and saw a shoe store "If you tread lightly!"
"When Blue meets yellow in the west." I mumbled looking around again, I stopped as I saw a big clock with blue and yellow hands "When blue meets yellow in the west."
"Y/N." Dustin said looking up at me
"What are you doing?" Steve asked as I turned to face him, Dustin, and Robin
"I cracked it." I said softly
"Cracked what?" Steve asked
"I cracked the code." I said jumping down and hugging Dustin

Thunder sounded as we lay on the rooftop, watching the loading dock
"Look for Imperial panda and Kaufman Shoes." I told Dustin as I pushed my hood out of my face.
Rain covered us completely. We picked the worst night to spy.
"They're with that whistling guy, ten o'clock" Dustin shouted
We watched as a guy in a yellow coat walked into a room
"What do you think's in there?" Steve asked
"Guns, bombs?" Dustin offered
"Chemical weapons?" Robin shouted
"Maybe it's some comic book, spider-man shit." I shrugged
"Whatever it is, they're armed to the teeth." Dustin shouted
"Great." Steve said wiping rain out of his eyes, he was stupid enough to bring a jacket with no hood. "That's great."
"What's in the room?" I shouted
"Just more boxes." Dustin answered
"Let me check it out." Steve said snatching the binoculars from Dustin
"No I'm not done--" Dustin was cut off by the binoculars slipping and hitting the metal
"Shit! Duck!" I said as we all laid down flat
I grabbed Dustin's hand and squeezed it, keeping myself as close to him as possible.
Thunder sounded making me squeeze Dustin's hand again, I watched as the sky lit up. If we're gonna die to these russians, at least it's with my favorite people.

I stood in the bathroom at Dustin's brushing my teeth, my thoughts from earlier rang through my head.
Yeah, I was with some of my favorite people. But not enough of them for me to think that. Maybe I'm just over thinking? I tend to do that a lot.
I starred at myself in the mirror as faces flashed through my mind
Max, she screamed
"Help!"

"Y/N/N!?"
Mike
"Y/N!"
Holly, holly's was different. She had tears streaming down her face
"Sissy?"
Nancy
"we need your help!"
I just stared at myself a big ball of hatred being placed in my hands, hatred towards me. And I had no where to put it down.
"Y/N?" Dustin shouted through the door
I spit out my toothpaste and yelled back "Yeah?"
"You ok? You've been in there a while."
I paused and looked back up at myself in the mirror, I thought about saying no "Yeah, I'm fine."

I closed my eyes as I laid in bed, I could hear Dustin's soft snores. He's probably sleeping peacefully. As I drifted to sleep it was anything but peaceful
I stood in a neighborhood, one I had never seen before. I looked around, every house was white with red doors. Nobody was outside, there was no noise. It was as if I was the only person in the world.
"Hello!?" I shouted as panic washed over me "Anybody!?"
"Y/N. You forgot about me. I thought we were friends." Max's voice pounded through my head. I spun, looking for her but she wasn't there.
"Y/N. I needed you, I really, really needed you. But you wouldn't answer." Will's voice cut through Max's
"Will!?" I shouted
Voices overlapped in my head, it hurt. I gripped my head as tears fell from my eyes. Max's voice, Will's, Mike's, Lucas's, Dustin's, Steve's, El's. They kept calling me a bad friend, a bad person.
"SHUT UP" I yelled. The voices stopped
The scene shifted through my memories, all of the worst ones, the memories from Will going missing, every fight that I've been in.
Why am I like this!?
The scene stopped shifting. I stand in my bedroom, with Mike in front of me. I turned around to see me in the outfit that I was wearing the day we argued
"Mike, you leave us to go suck her face off! It's not healthy for you or her to be together like that!" I shouted
"Well, get used to it Y/N! Because we're not alone like we used to be! Maybe you think we're still 'alone together' but we're not! We're not kids anymore, goddamn it!" he ran out my room, leaving me crying.
Then it all faded. I stand in complete black, nothing. Water was below my feet, it went just above my toes.
In front of me was me but taller, I stood in black jeans and a shirt that read 'hell fire club'
I had Dustin's hat snapped around my Jeans belt loop still, my hair was longer.
Then the other me turned into actual me, the outfit I had packed in my bag was on. She looked at me, then colors of light exploded over her face. She seemed panicked.
I had a black eye, dried blood on my face, I'm assuming it's my own. I looked over at someone then back out to the scene I had seen before. My eyes widened and I took off, taking someone's hand in mine. I couldn't see who
Then I disappeared, but the same me showed up again. I seemed to have a sprained ankle, bandages all over me. Tears streamed down my face as I hugged someone. I couldn't see who I hugged, then I looked down towards the ground.
Not the ground, someone was there. I went down to my knees and hugged them, picking them up and holding them.
I turned around to face something else, an orange glow over my face.
Then the scene shifted again, it was the same me. I was looking through a glass door, Steve, Dustin, Erica, and Robin doing the same. A blue glow over our faces
Then it shifted again, I sat with my knees to my chest and my arms wrapped around them. My eyes closed, I seem to be thinking.
