-Y/N's Pov-
Tink! Tink! I heard something hitting my window. I turned over in my bed to look at my clock, it's 6 am

I threw my blankets off of me

I opened the curtains aggressively to see a complete dork with curly hair smiling up at me. I opened the window and leaned out a bit
"What!?" I whisper yelled
"First of all, get down here! Second of all, you've got candy wrappers in your hair." Dustin said crossing his arms.
I closed my window and took some wrappers out if my hair, then I flipped Dustin off. He rolled his eyes and then I closed the curtains.
I quickly threw on my normal outfit and shoes, followed by Dustin's hat and my bag. Well as quickly as I could with my sprained ankle
I walked downstairs quietly trying not to wake anyone and left a note that I left early, that I went to study for a test. I gripped anything I could for balance
"Took you long enough." Dustin said as I closed the front door
"Zip it chewbacca" I said putting my arm out for him to come get me. He smiled at the nickname and walked over
"Chewbacca, huh?" he wrapped an arm around my shoulders
"Yep, cause of the thing you do whenever you talk about your new teeth"
"Oh! This thing?" He did a thing where he purred, or growled? Or- I dont know-
"We're going to the library." He said picking me up
"Hold on- hold on- pull me behind your bike." I said pointing to my skateboard next to the front door
We looked at eachother like we were about to do something bad but smart. And we are.

"Whooo!" I shouted as Dustin pulled me along behind his bike. We got it set up so that if I need to I can let go of the rope.
I laughed as the wind blew in my hair. A huge smile plastered on my face.
we slowed down a bit as we approached the library and I let go of the rope. Dustin helped me up the stairs and to the reptiles section.
"So, I found something in my trashcan last night. It looked like a tadpole but it's fine on land, and it can't stand light or heat." Dustin said handing me 5 books
"Ok? So, what's it look like now?" I asked as we walked up to the front desk.
"Mr. Henderson, Ms. Wheeler, you know the rules. Five at a time" The lady said
"Yeah five" Dustin pointed at the books
"Ten" She said holding up his card counting how many books he has out
"Well what about Y/N?" He asked
"Whoaaa don't count on me here, I've got 5 horror books sitting on my desk at home" I held my hands up in the air
"Listen, we're on a curiosity voyage, and we need our paddles to travel. These books are our paddles" Dustin explained
"Five at a time" She said
"Are you shitting me?" he asked getting impatient
"Excuse me?" She said
"What the hell is..." I said pointing at nothing behind her. Dustin grabbed the books and dragged me out the door
"Mr. Henderson! Ms. Wheeler!" she shouted
"We need our paddles!" Dustin yelled rushing out the door as quick as possible

"So..You kicked Yurtle out for this...thing?"
"His name is D'artagnan. Dart for short. And Yurtle can free roam for a little while." Dustin walked over to the tank I was looking into "And he likes nougat"
"He's kinda cute" I smiled
"I know! But we need to get to school, that took longer than expected" He put his books in his backpack and picked me up
"Dust you don't have to carry me. We can walk together" I sighed
"This is quicker. I'm down for a little walk anyway"

Dustin burst through the classroom door "I am so sorry Mr. Clarke, we went to the library, and then I had to carry Y/N because she has a sprained ankle" He spoke out of breath
Dustin put me down next to my desk so I could sit down then he sat down. As Dustin was telling Max to meet us in the AV room at lunch Mr. Clarke called his name
"Would you care to join the class now?"
"Please, yes" He said pulling out his book

We stand in circle around the table in the AV club room, Dustin, Me, Lucas, Max, Will, Mike, that order.
"His name is d'artagnan." Dustin picked up dart and looked around at everyone "Cute right?"
"D'artagnan?" Mike looked at the creature in Dustin's hands
"Dart for short." I added
"So you snuck out this morning to go look at this thing with Dustin?" Mike asked
"That's not important right now Mike."
"He was in your trash?" Max asked
"Foraging for food" Dustin looked at her "Wanna hold him?"
"No, no."
"he doesn't bite" He handed Dart to Max
"Oh god he's slimy!" Max shouted handing him to Lucas
"Ughh, he's like a living booger." Lucas said passing him to Will
"ugh, oh, god!" Will said passing him to Mike
"ew! What the hell!" Mike said passing him to me
"Aww, he's cute" I said holding him up some and looking at his- uhm not face?
"What is he?" Mike asked Dustin
"Our question exactly" Dustin said putting books down on the table. I sat Dart on the table and stood next to Dustin
"At first we thought he was some type of pollywog" Dustin said
"Pollywog?" Max asked
"Its another word for tadpole." I said flipping pages in one of the books
"Tadpole is the larval stage of a toad." Dustin added
"I know what a tadpole is." Max said
"Then you know that most tadpoles are aquatic, right?" I said finding the page I need and looking up
"Well, Dart, he isn't. He doesn't need water" Dustin looked at Dart on the table
"Yeah, but aren't there nonaquatic pollywogs?" Lucas asked
"Terrestrial pollywogs. Two to be exact" I said flipping open another book
"Indirana semipalmata" Dustin pointed to the page
"And the adenomera andreae. One's from India one's from South America." I said looking at Lucas
"So how did one end up in my trash?" Dustin looked at everyone
"Maybe some scientists brought it here, and it escaped?" Max offered
"Did you guys see that? Looks like something's moving inside of it" Mike said looking at Dart. He moved the lamp to look at him better but I moved it back quickly.
Dart began to move away and he started to fall of the desk, luckily Dustin caught him "Whoa. It's ok. It's ok. I got you little guy" Dustin whispered to him
I smiled then looked at Mike "One thing we forgot to mention is he's not a reptile. Reptiles are cold-blooded. They love heat, the sun. Dart hates it. It hurts him."
"So if he's not a pollywog or a reptile?" Lucas asked
"Then I've discovered a new species" Dustin said handing me Dart
I smiled and petted dart before the Bell rang, then we out him back in the Ghost trap Dustin had and into his backpack.
"We gotta show him to Mr. Clarke" Lucas said
"What if he steals mine and Y/N's discovery?" Dustin asked
"He's not gonna steal your discovery" Mike sounded annoyed
"You know, I'm thinking about calling it Dustonius pollywogus. What do you think?" Dustin asked Max
"I think you're an idiot." Max said
"When Y/N and I become rich and famous for this one day, don't come crawling back, saying, "Oh, my god, Dustin, I'm so sorry I was mean to you back in the 8th grade. Oh, my god." because we will become rich and famous from this." Dustin said
"I think I like the name you picked for it, dust" I smiled
"Of course you would say that Y/N" Mike looked at me
"Anything else to say Mike? Since you think you're my dad now?" I rolled my eyes
"Yes actually. You snuck out at 6 am to go with this idiot? You hate waking up early!" Mike argued "Then you blamed it on studying for a test?"
"What else would I say!? 'Hey mom, I'm going to go look at a new creature Dustin found in his trash can.'!?" I smacked his head
"No-" He started
"You're lucky I need you to walk or I'd smack you harder." I said clearly annoyed
"Do it Y/N!" Dustin laughed

"Dustin, stop walking so fast! If you wanna help me around you have to slow down." I whined as we walked through the school halls
"Sorry, I'm just excited to show Mr. Clarke!" Dustin said slowing his pace
"I get it. You're dorky and excited, it's normal for you dork" I poked his cheek and smiled.
We walked into Mr. Clarke's class
"Mr. Clarke" I said as we walked through the door
"Ah! My favorite students! What's going on?" Mr. Clarke asked
"So, Mr. Clarke. This is why we were late" Dustin said sitting the Ghost trap on the desk
"Oh that's cool. These doors function?" Mr Clarke asked
"Well, yeah, obviously. But it's not about the trap" Dustin said
"Dustin Henderson. Manners." I said
"Sorry. It's not about the trap. It's what's inside. Now this very well may change your perception of the world." He said
"Consider my interest piqued." Mr. Clarke looked up at him
"All right, first, lets just clarify that..this is Y/N's and my discovery, not yours." He said
"Dustin! Stop it!" I whined
"I'm just trying to clarify--"
"Dustin!" Max yelled. I glared at her. She can't yell at him, only Me and the boys can.
"Ok, fine" Just as he was about to open the trap the classroom door opened
"Stop!" Mike yelled running into the room with Will following "I'm really sorry, Mr. Clarke. It was just a stupid prank."
"The hell are you doing?" Dustin shouted
"I told him to stop." Mike looked at me then Dustin "We need to go. Right now."
"Mike--"
"Right now!" He ran out the room with the trap
We ran out behind him, me being the slowest considering everyone forgot about my ankle for the time being

Knocking sounded on the door "Hello!? Guys, can I come in yet?" Max's shouting was muffled
"No!" I shouted back, probably louder than I needed to
"I don't understand" Lucas said
"What do you not understand?" Mike asked him
"Will saw something that looked like Dart last year?" Lucas looked at Will
"Kinda, but there was no tail" Will said
"But then he heard it yesterday. The exact same sound" Mike added
"Why didn't you tell us before?" Dustin asked Will
"I wasn't sure" Wil said softly
"A coincidence." Dustin said
"Or not." I said from beside him
"What if when Will was stuck in the upside down, he somehow acquired true sight?" Mike looked at Dustin then me
"True sight?" Lucas asked
"It gives you the power to see into the ethereal plane." Dustin said
"Elaborate" Lucas looked at me. Like I'm the only other one the speaks nerd and idiot?
"Maybe these episodes that Will keeps having aren't flashbacks. Maybe they're real. Maybe Will can see into the upside down." I said. After I played my words back in my head my eyes went wide. No, no way. That's not true. I looked at the trap that dart is in, not wanting to believe my own words.
"So that's means.." Lucas trailed off
"Dart is from the upside down." Mike looked at me.
"We have to take him to Hopper" Lucas said
"I agree" Mike looked at him
"No. No way. If we take him to hopper, Dart's good as dead" Dustin argued
"Maybe he should be." Mike spoke up
"How could you say that!?" I shouted finally removing my gaze from the trap
"How can you not? He's from the upside down." Mike argued
"Maybe. But even if he is, it doesn't automatically mean that he's bad" Dustin argued back
"That's like saying just because someone's from the death Star doesn't make then bad." Mike raised his voice
"We have a bond" Me and Dustin said in unison
"A bond? Just because he likes nougat?" Mike shouted. I know he's right but I can't bring myself to hurt dart, sure I've know of him for a day but he's adorable and harmless..right?
"No! Because be trusts us Michael!" I shouted
"He trusts you?" Lucas asked
"Yes, I promised me and Y/N would take care of him" Dustin said looking down at the trap. That part I was not aware of but I'll ask about it later.
Dart screeched loudly, we backed away from the table "What the hell?.." I mumbled
The box started shaking until it flipped over. Mike grabbed something heavy and lifted it up.
"Don't hurt him." I said
"Only if he attacks" Mike reassured me
"Just open it already!" Lucas shouted
Dustin pushed the button and the doors opened, dart tumbled out making weird noises
"Holy shit" Lucas said slowly
Legs shot out from his butt with goo. I jumped back and grabbed Dustin's arm. I gagged, that was the grossest thing I've ever seen. Worse than the conversation with my mom about that time of the month
"Oh shit!" Lucas screeched
Dart growled and Mike jumped forward, swinging intercom mic he had in his hand at Dart
"No!" Dustin shouted as he slammed it down and Dart fell off the table
The door opened to reveal Max, Dart ran out quickly "Shit!" I shouted limping forward
The boys ran out the door and I stood gripping the door frame "What was that?" Max asked
"Dart!" Mike shouted
"What?" She asked
"You let him escape!" I yelled at her
"Why did you attack him!?" Dustin yelled, pushing Mike against the wall
"Come on." Mike said pushing Dustin away and walking down the hallway Dart went down
"Don't hurt him!" Dustin yelled after Mike
"Don't you dare hurt him Michael!" I yelled after him
I limped over to Dustin and put my hand on his shoulder "Lets go look for him, k?"
"Yeah, yeah." he looked at me then the ground

"East is clear. No sign of Dart" Mike sounded through my walkie
Me and Dustin walked down a hallway and ran into Mr. Clarke. I smiled and Dustin waved.
"West is clear, too. Will?" I spoke into my walkie
"South is clear. Lucas? Anything?" Will sounded
"Nothing here, man" Lucas sounded after a minute
I sighed and looked at Dustin "So, you promised Dart that we'd take care of him?"
"Uh- yeah. I figured you'd want to. He- he seems like something you'd want to help with-" Dustin rambled nervously
"It's fine, dust. I'll help take care of him" I smiled
He smiled back. I looked straight ahead then my walkie went off "Guys..I found him" Will said, he sounded terrified
Dustin grabbed my walkie "Where?"
"in the bathroom by Mr. Salerno's." He said
"Copy that." Mike sounded
Me and Dustin went over there as quick as we could, luckily we were close.
"Found him" Dustin said after opening the last bathroom stall
"Good" I said sitting next to the trash can. My ankle is killing me at this point.
Dustin walked out the stall with Dart in hand just as we heard Mike and Lucas down the hall
"Bring him here." I said opening my bag. Quickly Dustin came and put him in my bag "I'll give him back before we leave. K?"
He nodded "Is you're ankle ok? We've been doing a lot of walking today." he asked remaining kneeled in front of me
Before I could answer Mike, Lucas, and Max walked in
"Where's dart?" He asked
"I don't know. Not here" Dustin said standing up fully
"What?" Mike asked beginning to look in the stalls
"He said by Salerno's, right?" Max looked at Me
"Yeah, maybe Will has him" I said not removing my gaze from my ankle
Mike stopped what he was doing and looked at me "Where is Will?"
We looked at eachother then Dustin helped me up, he wrapped my arm around his shoulders and his around my torso. Lucas and Mike ran off to look outside
Just as we walked out of the bathrooms we started yelling for Will
"Will!" I shouted as we walked down a hallway
"Will!" Dustin shouted as we got to the end of the hallway
"Dustin! Y/N!" Joyce said walking up to us
"Mrs. Byers?" I asked
"What's going on? Where's will?" She asked me
Before I could answer Lucas ran in, completely out of breath "The field!" Lucas said
They ran outside, I followed as fast as I could once we got out the door I saw Mike standing next to will, he was completely frozen
"I just found him like this! I think he's having another episode!" Mike yelled
Joyce started shaking him and calling his name. Once I got over there I leaned on Dustin's arm, he held me up mostly. As I realized Will wasn't waking up tears pushed at the back of my eyes, I grabbed Dustin's hand.
After a minute Will's eyes shot open and he gasped. I smiled and squeezed Dustin's hand, glad to see my friend is ok.

Joyce walked down the steps to the building with Will as we followed behind "Mrs, Byers, I'm sorry I let Mike talk me into this stupid plan"
She smiled at me nervously and got in the car, they drove away and we watched.
"Ok, that totally freaked me out. Did that not freak you out?" Max looked at us
"Two episodes in two days." Lucas said
"It's getting worse" Mike kept watching the car
"You think it's true sight?" Lucas asked me
"What's true sight?" Max asked
"Its nothing." Lucas said quietly

Ever since yesterday Mike has been a bit quiet. It's weird. On the other hand, mom moved Nancy's seat in between me and Mike which means I get to sit next to Holly!
"Do you like those grapes Holly?" I asked. She nodded and smiled "Do you want a piece of toast? No? Ok"
Nancy asked about going to Stacy's for a girl's night, mom said yes. Then mom looked at me "Y/N, can you do Holly's hair before you leave? She likes it better when you do it"
"Yeah. Is that true Holly? You like it better when big sis does your hair?" I smiled at her. She had a huge smile across her face as she nodded

"Holly you like music?" I said brushing out her hair
"Mhm" She hummed
"Mike, can you go in my bag get out material girl? Put it in the thing on my desk." I looked at Mike
"Yeah." He walked over to my bag "Soo, you and Dustin, huh?"
"Me and Dustin what?" I asked as I separated Holly's hair in two sections
"Oh come on, I saw you two holding hands on the field the other day" He said pulling out the tape and putting it in
"I was scared. He was trying to help." I stated as I put one side of Holly's hair up
He pushed play and Material girl by Madonna started play then he sat next me in my bed
"Then why so jealous of max?" he looked at the ground
"I don't know" I grabbed a hair clip out of a container and put it in the ponytail I just put Holly's hair in
"Y/N I'm glad you like him, because when I get someone we won't be alone together anymore. We won't be alone at all. But if you won't admit to me that you like him, how will you ever tell him? I don't want you to be alone forever." Mike looked at me as he said the last sentence.
I stayed silent, I know he's right but I won't admit it yet.
"Y/N, I'm glad it's Dustin" He said getting up and walking out the room
"All done Holly, you like it?" I asked putting the last hair clip in.
She ran over to my mirror and smiled when she saw herself
"Go show mom, k? I gotta go to school."

"Stop being a baby already!" Mike yelled at Lucas
"This is so disgusting. Is this really necessary?" Max asked
"The hells goin on?" Dustin asked as he turned the corner
"What do you think? We're looking for dart." Mike looked at him like he was stupid
"They're looking for Dart. I have a handicap." I smiled and pointed at my ankle
Just before Dustin could smile back a bag flew out of the trash can and almost hit him in the head.
"Jesus!" Dustin shouted and backed up
"Oh!" Max backed away as another bag flew out
"Ugh!" Mike backed up
Lucas jumped out the trash and grunted "Well, well, well. Looks who decided to show up after I drew the shortest straw. "
"Cut it with the villain shit- 'well well well'" I mocked
"You stink" Max said and then walked over and stood next to Dustin
"Hi, max" Dustin smiled all weird at her
"Hi?.." She said. Well, at least she doesn't like him
"Where's Will?"
"He'll be here." Mike said
They started poking around in the bags with sticks while I just watched.
"Y/N im sure you're capable of poking a bag with a stick" Max looked at me
"Four people seems to be enough." I glared at her then I looked at the bag. A roach crawled towards me, as I realized it was close I screeched
"Ew!" I said falling sideways to avoid it
"Y/N it's a roach." Mike said stepping on it
"It has more then 4 legs, it doesn't deserve life." I said pushing myself off the concrete
"What are you gonna do when you're home alone and see a spider?" Mike continued to poke at the trash bag
"call Dustin. He'll kill it without making fun of me" I said standing all the way up and limping over to the wall
After a while the bell for class rang

"Anything?" Lucas shouted to Mike. Mike had went to call Will.
"We need to talk. AV room. Now." Mike said running up the steps. As Max started to get up he turned around "Party members only" Then he walked inside
"Come on, seriously?" Dustin looked at me. I didn't look back, I know I would've broken if I did
"Party members only.." I said quietly walking inside
It broke my heart to hear Dustin say sorry to Max. I limped next to Mike to the AV room.
Mike put his arm around my shoulders "Hang in there, he'll get smarter soon" he whispered to me

"Will didn't want us to tell anyone but on Halloween night he saw a sort of.." Mike trailed off not knowing the right words to say
"A shadow in the sky." I finished for him
"A shadow? What kind of shadow?" Lucas asked
"I don't know. But it scared him" I looked at the ground. I haven't looked at Dustin since we got to the AV room
"And if Will really has True Sight..I mean, if he can really see into the upside down, maybe he saw the shadow monster yesterday." Mike leaned forward a bit
"So that's why he was frozen like that?" Dustin asked
"Maybe." I mumbled
"Can it hurt him? I mean, this shadow thing isn't from our world"
"I'm not sure. Y/N, Dustin?" Mike looked at us
"Well, if you're in another plane--" Dustin started but I cut him off
"You can't interact with the material plane, so theoretically, no, the shadow can't hurt him. But that's all theoretical." I looked at Mike
"yeah, if that's even what's happening. This isn't D&D. This is real life." Mike said
"So what do we do?" Lucas looked at me then Mike
"We acquire more knowledge. I'll got to Will's after school. See what's going on. You guys stay here and find Dart." Mike said
"Dart? What's he gotta do with this?" Dustin asked
"Will heard him in the Upside down. I don't know how yet, but he's gotta be connected to all this. He's gotta be" Mike looked from Dustin to Me "If we find Dart maybe we can solve this thing. Maybe we can help Will"

I left with Dustin to go see Dart, meaning it's time to deal with Mrs. Henderson's comments and questions. I love the lady like a mother but she has so many things to say at times.
Dustin opened his front door, not hiding his painc
"Heh, Dusty! Oh! Y/N, hi!" Mrs Henderson said
"Hi, hey. hey, mom" Dustin said walking past her, me limping behind
"Everything ok?" She asked
"Yeah, everything's fine. Yeah." Dustin said out of breath
"Hi Mrs. Henderson." I smiled and followed Dustin
We went up to Dustin's room
"Dart, we've gotta talk to you buddy. It's about our friend Will" Dustin said sitting his stuff down and walking over to the tank on his dresser
"I think--" he ripped the sheet off to reveal broken glass. I stopped in the center of the room seeing the broken tank
"Where is he, dust?" I said fear clear in my voice
Dustin didn't answer he just picked something up from inside the tank
"What the hell?" He whispered. Screeching sounded from behind a chair and I jumped away from it, almost falling over
"Dart?" Dustin called out
"Dustin..where's mews and Yurtle?" I asked quietly
He walked over to the chair slowly, me doing the same
Blood was all over the floor and the chair, once we could see what was behind it I gasped and fell backwards. I heard dart screech, meaning he saw Dustin.
What was behind the chair was dart chowing down on Mews, Dustin's cat. The very cat I played with since I was in the 4th grade.
Tears stung the back of my eyes, I looked at Dustin and I know it was the same for him.

"Mrs. Henderson." I said walking down the hall. Dustin's strong point isn't really acting, so I have to do this part.
"Yes sweetie?" She looked at me
"Can I stay over tonight?" I asked smiling
"Of course. I can get blankets and put them in dustin's--" She smiled
"No! Uhm- we actually wanted to sleep out here and watch a movie, make a fort maybe" I said
"Oh, that's fine. You'll need a change of clothes won't you?" She asked
"Its to late to go back home right now actually, I might wake Holly if I go up into my room" I said looking at a clock on the wall
"Well, you can wear one of Dustin's shirts and I'm sure you've left a pair of shorts lying around here somewhere." she smiled as I walked back up the hallway. She's not wrong, I have gone home from here missing a pair of shorts a few times.

"Dusty, baby, you're sure she's not in your room?" Mrs. Henderson walked back inside
"I checked up there a few minutes ago, not in there" I said leaning against the wall, still in the clothes I slept in
"uh-huh." Dustin said into the phone "uh-huh, thank you so much Mr, McCorkle. Thank you so much. You are a true lifesaver. All right, this was great thank you. All right. Have a good one." he put the phone down
"So?" I asked
"Great news." Dustin turned to face his mom
"They found her?" She asked
"No. But they saw her wandering around Loch Nora." Dustin walked closer to her
Mrs. Henderson started crying "How did the poor baby get all the way out there?"
Guilt hit me hard, like a brick. If she doesn't leave soon I might breakdown.
"I don't know. Lost, I guess. But they're gonna look for her. And Y/N and I will stay here, in case they call again. And you're gonna go help look? Yeah? Yeah?" Dustin reassured her
Its amazing how he can comfort her like that, it's adorable if I'm being totally honest.
"Give me a hug. Give me a hug" Dustin said as she hugged him "Go get her. You're gonna find her, alright."
"Okay." Mrs. Henderson said grabbing her keys
"We can find her."
"We can find her."
"I love you" Dustin blew her a kiss
"I love You" she said opening the front door
"I love you" Dustin said smiling at her
Jesus. How is he so adorable?
"All right, go" He said as his mom closed the door
"Now that was adorable" I said crossing my arms and leaning on the corner of the wall
"Lets go." He said running to the closet

I stand in the living room impatiently, Dustin tried to get me to put "Armor" on but I refuse.
He walked out, I haven't looked up yet "Finally, I finished putting baloney out like 5 minutes ag--" I looked up and burst out laughing
"Oh shush. It's armor. Now I'm gonna go outside to the shed, you open my bedroom door and run to the shed. Got it?" he said
"Yep. Now go Mr hockey man" I teased as I walked past him
"Alright Dart, breakfast time" I said slowly opening the bedroom door. I ran out the front door as quick as I could with my limp, as soon as I got into the shed I fell to the floor of it and Dustin closed the door.
I sat on the floor as Dustin looked out through a crack in the shed. And I'm assuming that dart took the bait because Dustin keeps saying yes.
After a few seconds Dustin jumped backwards
"What?" I whispered. He didn't answer, he looked out the crack again then jumped back and hit a wall
"Dustin!" I whisper yelled
"Ok, he knows we're in here. Stay calm, I've got an idea" He whispered to me
I nodded then he let out a war cry and opened the door. He scared Dart into the cellar and closed it quickly
"You ok!?" I shouted trying to pick myself up off the ground
"Yeah-- Yeah! I'm fine! You ok?" He shouted back

He stared at me for a minute, probably cause I look like an idiot. I'm in his t-shirt, sleep shorts, my hair tied up in probably the ugliest bun I've ever seen, and bright yellow rubber gloves.
"Uh- yeah, bathroom, under the sink." He said after a minute
"K, thanks." I said walking back inside
Time to go clean my favorite cat's blood off the floor of my crush's bedroom.

"I hope I'm not gonna be in trouble" I said as we walked up to my house
"I don't think you will be." Dustin rang the doorbell
Dad opened the door "Dad, the line has been busy for over two hours."
"Yes, I know Y/N." He said
"Is Mike home?" Dustin asked
"no."
"well where the hell is he?" I asked
"Karen, where's our son?" Dad shouted
"Will's!" she shouted back
"Will's." Dad repeated
"No one's picking up there. Nancy. What about Nancy." I asked
"Karen, where Nancy?" Dad shouted
"Ally's!" Mom shouted back
"Ally's" Dad repeated "Our children don't live here anymore. Don't you know that?" He pointed at me
"Seriously?" I crossed my arms
"Am I done here?" Dad asked
"Son of a bitch. You're no help at all, you know that?" I limped away
"Watch your language young lady!" Dad shouted after us
Just as we were about to leave Steve's car pulled up.
"Steve." Dustin called "Are those for Mr. Or Mrs. Wheeler?" Dustin asked
"No?" Steve looked at the flowers in his hand
"Good." I said grabbing them
"Hey. What the hell? Hey!" He shouted after us
"Nancy isn't home." I said opening his car door
"Well where is she? And what are you wearing?" steve asked me
"one, doesn't matter. Two, his shirt and my pj shorts." I said pointing at Dustin
"We have bigger problems than your love life, and Y/N's shorts." Dustin said opening the passenger's side door "You still have that bat?"
"Bat? What bat?"
"The one with the nails?"
"Why?"
"We'll explain along the way." I said getting in the car

"Wait a sec- he's how big?" Steve looked at Dustin
"First he was like that" Dustin showed with his fingers "now he's like this" he stretched his hands apart
"I swear to god, if it's just some little lizard--"
"It's not a lizard." Dustin said
"How do you know?" Steve asked
"His face opened up and he ate Dustin's cat!" I shouted suddenly from the backseat
Steve didn't say anything after that. We pulled up to Dustin's house
"Y/N, are you cold?" Steve asked before opening the trunk
"Maybe a little." I said
He tossed me a jacket "Gotta keep my ex's little sister safe." me mumbled then grabbed his bat
We led him to the seller and he stops there for a minute "I don't hear shit."
"He's in there" Dustin said
"All right, if this is some sort if halloween prank. You're dead" Steve pointed his flashlight at Dustin's face
"Is not."
"All right?"
"It's not a prank. Get that out of his face" I said
"You got a key for this thing?" He asked
"Yes, now seriously get that out of his face" I crossed my arms
I tosses him the key and he opened it. He pointed his flash light down the steps
"He must be further down there. Me and Y/N will stay up here in case he tries to escape." Dustin said
Steve sighed then went down into the cellar. After standing around for 5 minutes and fear drowning us we decided to call for him
"Steve" Dustin called
"Steve what's going on down there?" I called
A light pointed up at us and Dustin jumped back "Get down here." Steve said
"Weirdo" I looked at Dustin and walked down the steps slowly.
We got all the way down the steps to see Dart's shed on the end of Steve's bat
"Aw, shit" Dustin whined
Steve pointed the flash light to a hole in the wall
"Oh, shit!" I whined
We walked over and looked at it. It's not just a hole, it's a tunnel

It's been a while since we got to the train tracks, Dustin called for Lucas to meet us.
Steve and Dustin are walking faster than me but I don't really care.
I'm keeping my headphones on the whole time, listing to the mix tape me and Dustin made.

Y/N's just completely zoned out, walking behind Dustin and Steve as they throw chunks of meat on the ground.
"You kept something you knew was probably dangerous in order to impress a girl who..You just met?" Steve asked
"that's oversimplified but yes, and it didn't work, and now I don't want to impress that girl. Now I want to impress a different girl." Dustin explained
"Why would a girl like some nasty slug anyway?" Steve asked
"An interdimensional slug? Because it's awesome" Dustin looked over his shoulder at Steve
"Well, even if she thought it was cool, which she didn't, I..I just...I don't know. I just feel like your trying way to hard." Steve caught up and walked side by side with the curly haired boy
"We'll not everyone can have your perfect hair" Dustin kicked a rock
"It's not about the hair, man. The key with girls is just..just act like you don't care." Steve explained
"Even if you do?" Dustin looked at the older boy
"Yeah, exactly. It drives them nuts. Who even is the girl?" Steve asked
Dustin didn't say anything, he just looked behind them. Steve seemed to understand
"Wheeler's are different though. They're different than other girls." Steve explained
"Yeah, Nancy seems pretty special. But this girl, she's special.."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey" Steve stoped walking "You're not falling in love with this girl are you?"
"What? No. No, no" Dustin had to lie. The truth was he'd already fallen hard, so hard he had scrapes everywhere.
"Good. Don't. She's only gonna break your heart, and you're way to young for that shit." Steve looks straight ahead and started walking again
Dustin stayed quiet and looked down, Steve seemed to realize he'd made the kid upset
"Fabergé" Steve said
"What?" Dustin slowed down, almost completely
"it's fabergé organics. Use the shampoo and conditioner, and when your hair's damp..it's not wet, ok? When it's damp you do four puffs of Farrah fawcett spray" Steve explained
"Farrah Fawcett spray?" Dustin laughed
"Yeah, Farah Fawcett. You tell anyone I just told you that and your ass is grass. You understand me?" Steve threatened
Y/N took her headphones off at the sudden long stop "What's goin' on?"
"Nothing" The boys said together and started walking again
"Weirdos." She mumbled and put her headphones back on
-Y/N's pov-
We walked up on the junkyard and I took my headphones off
"Oh yeah, this'll do." Steve started walking farther into the junkyard "This'll work just fine. Good call, guys"
As we dumped the buckets the boys carried someone shouted "I said medium-well!"
I laughed and looked up, there stood Lucas and Max. I looked at Dustin and the way he looked at Max kept getting to my head.
"Who's that?" Steve asked
"Max Mayfield." I mumbled and started moving stuff around
"Y/N, can I talk with you?" Max asked from beside me
"Yeah." I sighed
"I can tell you're jealous of me, but I just want to let you know that I don't like Dustin like that." She said moving stuff around
"Is it really that obvious?" I looked at her
"Kinda, but he doesn't know. I can tell. And I think he's so over me by now. Next he'll be all over you" She laughed
"No way!--" I started but my attention was drawn to Steve, he hit a metal chair on a car
"Hey! Dickheads! How come the only ones helping me out is some random girl and Ms sprained ankle?" Steve scolded the boys
I rolled my eyes and looked at max "Sorry I've been such an asshole, jealousy kinda took over."
"It's ok, I understand" she smiled at me
"Once we get done with all of this, you think we could hang out at the arcade?" I asked
"Sounds amazing. Now let's talk about what the hell you're wearing, shall we?"

The sun went down a little while ago and we all piled into the bus, it got pretty foggy out.
"So you really fought one of these things before?" Max asked Steve. He nodded slowly
"and you're like totally sure it wasn't a bear?" She asked
"Shit. Don't be an idiot. Okay? It wasn't a bear. Why are you even here if you dont believe us?" Dustin snapped. When max didn't answer he stood there with his arms crossed "Just go home."
"Geesh. Someone's cranky. Past your bedtime?" Max said climbing up the ladder and taking to Lucas
I grabbed Dustin's arm as he paced past me "Calm down, please?"
"No Y/N, I can't be calm right now. I can be anything but calm right now" Dustin snapped at me. I let go of his arm and stared at him in shock he never snaps at me.
I got up and put my headphones on, I walked to the back of the bus and sat in a corner
"That's it, show her you don't care" I heard Steve say before I played my music

Before I even got halfway through a song a loud growling sounded. I snatched my headphones off and stood up.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion after that "I've got eyes! Ten o'clock! Ten o'clock!" Lucas shouted down the ladder
"He's not taking the bait." I mumbled
"why is he not taking the bait?" Steve asked
"Dustin, hold this for me." I said handing him my bag
"Maybe he's sick of cow?" Steve offered
I stared as he didn't take the bait. Quickly I shoved Dustin out of the way and opened the bus doors, I grabbed Steve's bat as I walked down the steps
"Hey dart! Ya miss me?" I shouted, catching the creatures attention
"What is she doing!?" I heard Steve shout from the bus
"She's expanding the menu" Dustin replied
"Come on boy, I know you're hungry" I said waving that bat around "Human taste better than cat, I promise."
"Y/N, watch out!" I heard Lucas shout from the bus "Three o'clock! Three o'clock!"
I turned my head to see another demogorgon "Shit!"
"Y/N! Abort! Abort!" Dustin tells from the bus door.
I ran for the bus door as one of the creatures jumped at me, I hit it with the bat and ran as fast as possible

Everyone shouted for me from the bus door, I almost made it then I tripped "Shit! Shit! Shit!"
My adrenaline was sky rocketing but not as quick as my fear. I struggled to get back up, then I felt someone pick me up.
I looked up to see Steve, he carried me inside the bus quickly
"Holy shit! Y/N! What were you thinking!?" Dustin hugged me
"I-- I don't know" I said out of breath
The bus shook as the creatures tried to get inside, one broke the door and Steve hit it probably 100 times as we went to the back of the bus.
"Lucas, call for help on my walkie" I said pointing at my walkie laying on the ground. He grabbed it and started talking into it
"Y/N..if we don't make it out of here I'm sorry" Dustin said hugging me
"you don't have anything to be sorry for. And we're gonna make it out--" I was cut off by banging on the roof, I looked up to the hole that Lucas used for look out just as a demogorgon walked over to it
Max let out a scream of bloody murder. I gripped onto Dustin tighter than before and closed my eyes as Steve fought off the creature
Before we could say another word the demogorgons ran off, I looked at Dustin then I let go of him and scooted away
"Steve, I think we have a problem.." I said looking at my ankle
"What now?" He turned to me
"I'm not going to be able to walk. I was meant to be resting before I even tried to but with all this I'm not walking in this for at least 4 weeks." I explained
"Shit. Uhm, Dustin give her a piggy back ride or something" Steve said walking to the bus door. I got on dustin's back and we all followed Steve
"What happened?" Lucas asked
"Steve scared 'em off." I said sarcastically
"They're goin somewhere" Steve turned to face us
