Chapter 23

POV: Ahri
Today is Monday, a week after (Y/n) saved Kai'sa from that bastard Stephon. Things are going well for me thanks to the suppressants I have. I'm not lusting for (Y/n) like if I wasn't on them, though they don't stop me from having thoughts about (Y/n) from time to time. At the moment I stepped out of my room and saw (Y/n) with his helmet in hand.
"Heading out?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I wanted to go visit April since we've been busy all week" He replies.
"I see, but don't forget we have a meeting with Sarah at 2" I tell him.
"I won't. See you later" He says before walking down the stairs.
"Alright, later" I reply.
From the top of the stairs, I watched (Y/n) head out. I then sighed, a part of me wanted to spend time with him. Like there was this connection lingering between us, something other then a boss to employee relationship. My attention then turned to the sound of a door closing, I turn to see Kai'sa in pajamas with some clothes in her hand. I noticed that she was wearing the faded metal shirt that (Y/n) had given her after he saved her.
"Morning Ahri" Kai'sa says with a slight yawn.
"Morning" I say then mentioned her shirt "You're wearing the shirt (Y/n) gave you"
"Umm, Y-Yeah, I am" Kai'sa replied then begins to become a stuttering mess and her cheeks became flush "I-I-It's j-just t-that I have g-gotten a f-few n-n-nightmares and w-when I s-sleep with t-this s-shirt on I-I-I d-don't get a-a-any"
I raised an eye brow at her response then let it down and gave her a small smile "I see, I'm glad you aren't having any more nightmares"
"Thanks...I-It's l-like when I w-wear it h-h-he's p-protecting m-me w-when I-I s-sleep" Kai'sa tells me.
"Well, that is his job right?" I say to her.
"R-Right" She replies "I'm g-going to g-go t-take a s-shower now"
Not a second more, Kai'sa then zips past me and into the bathroom. I'm left standing there, mildly envious of Kai'sa. I can't say I'm to the extent of jealousy but that connection I'm feeling towards is surely interfering with my emotions and thoughts, even with the suppressants.
"If Kai'sa gets one of his shirts, it's only right that I get one too" I thought.
That was a type of thought that never had gone through my head before. Something about (Y/n) is affecting me in ways no one has ever done before. A moment later I turn and look at (Y/n)'s door, I look around to see if everything is clear. I then walked over to (Y/n)'s door and slipped in to his room. I look at the room, see into cleanliness. I head to his walk in closet and open it and scanned over the clothes inside. Most of it was neat, his suits that Evelynn and him got hung up, most of it was neat and organized. There were a few things that looked thrown to the side.
"Hmm, this is pretty organized and cleaned up" I thought to myself as I walked around.
I stopped and my attention was caught on to a shirt that was thrown to the side. I pick it up and I see that it was sleeveless and the sides were cut half way down the shirt. It seemed to be an old metal band shirt or something as hit had a skull biting into a pair of brass knuckles. The I couldn't put together the lettering though. My body instinctively smelled the shirt, I felt almost euphoric by it. It smelled only like him, it was such a strong smell. My went mind for a moment then got back in control and I pulled the shirt away from my nose.
"Damn it Ahri! Get yourself together girl!" I yell at myself in my mind.
"This one should do" I state to myself.
Part 2.
POV: You
At the moment I was on the couch at Aurelion Sol, in the same room from before. Next to me was April, who I predicted would react like this, wore a frown on her face after I had told her about the events on what happened when I saved Kai'sa. She wasn't happy in the slightest. April crosses her arms before finally speaking up from her silence.
"You went too far" April states.
I sigh "I'm aware of that" I reply.
"And if he died?" She questions.
"Let's hope he didn't" I reply
"Okay, and if he's not dead, What makes you think he won't go to the media? " April questions with concern.
"Fear" I state to her "Fear will be what stops him. He now knows about what I am capable of. You and me both know that wasn't even close to a quarter of what I can do, that I can break bodies far past what people thought possible"
April looks down, I could see the sadness in her eyes. She doesn't like to see the violence and brutality I can cause, at times I don't like it either. I sigh once more and looks down. I then feel April's hand on my cheek. I look up and see that, in place of a frown, was a small smile.
"You need to control that anger of yours better, I know you can, I've seen you do it" April tells me.
"Thats because you were at my side, you were there to keep me from boiling." I reply then cup the hand that cupped my cheek "You've been an anchor in my life for a long time, now, there is nothing to hold me steady when I need it"
April leans in a bit "You have many people that are here for you (Y/n), your parents, your sisters,, the True Damage crew, Garen, Rakan, and Xayah, there our friends (Y/n), they are here for you when you need them" She tells me.
"But only you have been able to tame the anger I generate" I state to her.
A small smile forms on her lips "Then you'll have to find more people who can tame that beast, Maybe those K/DA girls can be what you need" She tells me.
"Maybe" I reply.
"For right now, if something like that happens again, think of me okay, if I'm that anchor than think of me" April says as she continued to smile.
"Alright, will then" I say to her.
She retracts her hand then moves closer and leans her head on my shoulder. She then closed her eyes "We said that we'd restart as friends, yet, here we are almost back to normal, our connection as great as it always has been"
"Yeah..." I replied.
"Let's not rush it" April says.
"Yes ma'am" I say with a small smile, knowing I'd get a reaction.
She shoots up from my shoulder and looks at me "You did not just call me ma'am?" She gasped.
"I just did 'ma'am'" I say, emphasizing 'ma'am'.
"Oh your going to get it now!" April says before she grabs the throw pillow, and as the name implied, throws it at my face.
I dodge the attack of the pillow and jumped out of my seat. Now, April had the other throw pillow, loading to throw it. I preempt the attack and move out of the way and jump over the couch before she throws where I was. I pick up the two pillows so she wouldn't have any ammo.
"Take it back (Y/n)" April tells me, with the couch between us.
"Take what back?" I question, teasingly.
"You know what I mean" She states.
"Oh what ever do you mean?, ma'am" I say.
April then jumps over the couch and onto me. I fall back and she laid on top of me. Our faces inches apart and her hair draping down like curtains.
I let out a soft chuckle "I love teasing you sometimes"
"You know I don't like being called ma'am" April tells me.
"That's why I press the button" I reply.
Silence seeped between us after that, in the moment, our lips drawer near to each other, like the world had stopped for a moment. With an inch left of space, April pulls away and gets up, fixing her hair.
"That...was close" She says.
"Yeah..." I replied.
My phone dings and I look at my phone as I sit up. I see that it was a message from Ahri saying they were about to leave to meet Sarah. I stand up and put my phone back into my pocket.
"Got to go?" April asks.
"Yeah, a meeting" I reply.
April takes a few steps towards me and places a hand on my chest "Stay safe okay, and be careful"
"I'll do my best" I say with a small smile.
She the smile back "Remember what I said about your anger" She states to me.
"I will, Ma'am" I say then was immediately met with a throw pillow to the face from April's free hand.
"Got you" April says then giggles a bit.
"I let you have that one" I say.
"Whatever you say lover boy" April says "Now go, can't leave idols waiting now can you?"
"Their pop stars, and I think I'll make it there on time" I tell her.
"You haven't been riding that bike too fast, have you?" She questions.
"You know me April, I do it when the speed limit allows it" I say.
April shakes her head in displeasure "When you're on that thing, I swear. You're going to get yourself hurt on that thing one of these days"
"You worry about me too much" I say to her.
"I do it because I love you idiot" April tells me, blushing slightly.
I step close to her and embrace her in a hug "I know you do"
"Be careful, please" April says as she hugged me back "There are dangerous people out there, you know that"
"I know" I say.
After a minute goes by, which felt like an hour. We pull away from each other and as we do, April sneaks a kiss onto my cheek, before smiling as she steps back.
"I know I said we'd restart as friends, but we didn't clarify anything about flirting" She says while smiling.
"Touchè" I say while smiling back at her.
"Now go, for real this time" She says "I'll see you later"
"Alright, later then" I replied before walking out of the room.
Part 3.
I'm in the elevator, being lifted up to Sarah's office, or should I say Miss Fortune's office. The elevator stops and opens up and I see Braum standing in the reception area waiting for me.
"Ahh, you made it (Y/n)" He exclaims.
"Did you think I was going to be late or something?" I asked as I stepped out of the elevator.
"Me personally? No, Ahri though thought it was a possibility" Braum replied.
"I see" I say.
"Anyway, they are waiting for you in Miss Fortune's office" Braum states.
"Alright" I reply. I walk down the hall to Miss Fortune's office then knocked on the door, I then open the door and peaked inside before walking in "Afternoon ladies"
"Afternoon" Sarah says with a smile.
"Just in time" Ahri says.
"Darling, you sure took your time" Evelynn says.
"Well I'm on time, ain't I?" I say.
"Indeed you are" She replies.
"Well, now that you're all here, we can get to the good stuff" Sarah says then leans forward and slims at me "(Y/n), I must say you've exceeded my expectations for this job, and I'd say you handled the situation with Kai'sa's former partner quite well"
"I think I went little overboard on that if you asked me, a little too brutal" I replied to Sarah and she smiles.
"Modest again I see, though I can see why you say crushing a man's testicles like a bug is brutal" Sarah says.
"Um, Sarah, is there any other reason you brought us here besides bringing up what happened?" Kai'sa asks, slightly anxious about the topic.
"Yes, right" Sarah says "The main reason I brought you guys here is because I had an idea"
"An idea?" Ahri says in a curious tone.
"Like what kind of idea?" Akali questions.
"What do you girls think about bringing in one more into the group? From here on out" Sarah says, pitching the idea to the girls.
"Do you have someone in mind already?" Ahri asks.
"No, not at the moment" Sarah answers.
"Why bring up the idea now? I mean we just got off our first album tour not too long ago" Akali questions.
"I'm thinking that, if we brought in a new girl now, by the time you girls start on the second album. You'll all know each other well enough to be able to make the second album better then the first" Sarah replies.
"I can get on board with this, however, there's something that's bugging me" Evelynn says as she taps her finger nailed on her side.
"And what would be bugging you Evelynn?" Sarah asks.
"The four of us are pretty diverse in nature, adding a new girl could crowd the group in away depending on their personality. So if we do add a new girl, I'd say someone who'd be new to the scene. Someone whose got creativity and personality that won't overshadow anyone already in the group" Evelynn explains to Sarah.
"I think I know just the girl your looking for" I say as my thoughts went straight to a dreaming barista.
