One day until the challenge cup opener against Orlando Pride. No one knows how good they are going to be anymore, considering they traded Alex Morgan, Ali Kriger, Ashlyn Harris, and Taylor Kornieck.

But we were going to go into it not knowing anything, and I like it better that way.

I finally moved into my own place and got my own car, so I didn't have to do everything by Trinity's schedule anymore, even though I spent a lot of time at her house, and a lot of nights at Ashley's.

I went to Trinity's to talk to her about what she does on game day and stuff. And while I was there I got a text from Ash.

'Babe you coming over tonight.' The text said.

'Probably not. I need to get a good night's rest.' I replied.

'I guess I'll have to call Tara then.'

I laughed, and Trinity looked at me.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing." I said, putting down my phone face down.

"Um, I just want to ask you something."

"Ask away."

"You've been so distant from me lately. Like, you were good for the first few days, and then sometimes you come back, but you're off in your own world a lot. Especially with Ashley."

"What?" I asked. "Are you jealous I made a few friend?"

"No I'm not!"

"Awww Trinity's jealous of my new friend!" I teased.

"Kyla!" She laughed.

"You don't have to worry. You're my best friend and always will be." I said. "I'm sorry I've been 'distant' or whatever. Just tell me how to fix it and I can."

"Get off your phone so much for starters."

"Okay."

"And you should come over at night so we can have a movie night or something! I miss Friday movie night with you. That's our thing."

"Okay." I said, getting up from the table. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go to the bathroom."

"Sounds good."

Trinity's POV

As soon as Kyla was in the bathroom, I picked up her phone, and much to my surprise, she left it on.

I looked through some of the messages with someone named 'Babe' with some pink heart emojis.

Why would she hide that from me? If she's dating someone why wouldn't she tell me?

Then one message made me drop her phone and throw my hand to my mouth to keep from yelling.

Kyla had said: 'my place or yours tonight?'

And 'Babe' with a bunch of heart emojis replied: Sorry I'm busy tonight. I'm going to Trinity's to watch the movie The Sandlot because she says it's a classic and I haven't seen it ever.'

ASHLEY CAME TO MY HOUSE TO WATCH THE SANDLOT LAST WEEK.

What. The. Hell.

I clicked on the contact, and I looked at the number. It was in fact Ashley's number.

I just turned her phone off and put it back in the spot, and stared at the wall until she came back out.

"Everything okay?" Kyla asked, sitting back down at the table.

"What?" I asked. I was staring into space and completely zoned out.

"What's wrong?"

"What?"

"Trinity are you okay?" She asked.

"I'm fine."

"You don't look it."

"Well I am, okay?" I said, frustrated.

"Geez okay." She said, putting her hands up. "I'm gonna go run some errands. If you need anything just give me a call, okay?"

"Sounds good." I replied.

Kyla got her stuff and left, and I moved to the couch.

Do I tell her I know? Do I tell Ashley? What do I do? Does Kelley know? Probably.

I decided to text Ashley and see what she was up to so I could get her to admit it.

She said she would come over, and she asked why, but I didn't answer her.

"Hey!" I said when she walked in.

"What's up?" She said.

"Nothing."

"You asked me to come over?"

"Yeah. I just feel like we haven't really hung out lately. Just us. I feel like I'm missing so much of your life." I said. That sounded really really weird, but Ashley took it.

"Okay. What do you want to know?"She sat down on the couch.

"Where have you been lately? I feel like you've been so busy." I said.

"I am busy. I'm working on this deal with a company but I'm not allowed to say yet. You'll see eventually."

"That's cool." I said. In my head, I was thinking: 'please just admit you hang out with Kyla so we can get this over with.'

"I guess I've been hanging with Kyla too." She said. "But no more than I am hanging with you."

Almost had it.

"Have you been out at all recently? Find anyone? Any good hookups?" I asked. Again, I know I sounded weird, but I needed to get her to say something.

"I don't get to go out much." She said, looking down at her fingers. "Hookups? Yeah. There was this one."

"Really?"

"Yep."

"I can't believe you didn't tell me!" I said.

"I'm sure you have a few I don't know about." Ashley laughed.

"Who was it?"

"Who was it for you?"

"Ashley."

"What?"

"Who was it?"

"No one important." She said, still picking at her fingers.

Yeah right no one important.

"Can I have a name? How you met?"

"Tell me one of yours first."

"Why?"

"Do you want to know mine?"

"Fine. This one guy named Tommy that I met in New York, he was someone working behind the scenes of my videos for my brand deal and stuff." I said, knowing damn well I already told her about him.

"I know that one. Tell me a new one."

"Well there was this one guy...." I started, knowing I would have to make something up if I wanted to avoid telling her the one I've kept a secret.

"I know when you're lying. Your eyes go to the left, your right eye starts twitching, and you start tapping your feet. I know you." She laughed. "Tell me for real."

"Okay. But you can't tell anyone." I sighed.

"I won't."

"Only Kelley knows this."

"Okay."

"The night of Sonnett's championship party, I told Tara to sneak me a few drinks. And then we both had one too many, one thing lead to another, and you can see where this is going." I sighed.

"Did it ever happen again or like..." Ashley asked.

"Never. Actually we haven't spoken about it once."

"Not once?"

"Nope." I said, shaking my head.

"Wow."

"Now what about-" I was interrupted by a phone call from Kelley.

"Take it." Said Ash.

"Okay." I answered. "Hello? Kelley? This is kind of a bad time."

"No it's not." Ashley said.

"Well this is desperate."

"What's wrong?"

"Well, Sonnett and I went out to eat. And I told her I'd pay, so she left her wallet at home." Kelley started.

"And you forgot yours at home too?" I sighed.

".....Yeah."

"Alright. I'll come pay for you guys. Text me where you are and I'll be there in 10."

"Thanks. You're the best."

I hung up and told Ashley where I had to go, and she went home after I left.

Very very unsuccessful, I ended up spilling a secret to her and not even getting what I really wanted out of her.
