I began talking to Jacob again, since I believed that both of us had lost feelings but honestly neither of us did. The more I hung out with Jacob, the feelings slowly came back.
I love Vinnie with everything, but maybe he was right. I'll never get over Jacob.
Vinnie was streaming when I walked into his room.
"Oh- are you live?"
"Yeah, but you can come in. What's up love?"
"I just wanted to be in your presence."
He smiles and laughs a bit.
"You wanted to be in my presence?"
"Yeah! I miss you it's been like 3 hours."
"Do you miss me or my love and affection?"
"Both."
Vinnie chuckles a bit then looks at the time.
"Actually, this would be a good time to end the stream. I'll see you all next time."
Vinnie ends the stream and stands in front of me.
"Okay so what is the real reason you wanted me?" He pulls me in by my waist.
"What do you mean?"
"I know you too well to know you wanted me just for attention."
"Okay uh- don't be mad at me but.. i kinda told Jacob we'd go out for lunch. You, me and him."
Vinnie looks at me suspiciously. "Are you joking with me or-"
"I'm not- I just need you two to try getting along."
Vinnie looks at me sympathetically.
"Fine.. I'm only doing this for you."
"Yess! Thank you baby!"
I kiss him and pull him out the door of his room.
"Can I at least close the door?"
"Fine-"
"ONWARD MS. PAYNE!"
"MOVE IT MR. HACKER!"
- downstairs -
"Tabitha, I might make a move."
"Dude. You got to the point where Vinnie and Sydney are both willing to hang out with you. Why would you try to ruin that?"
"It feels like the right time."
"Jacob! It will never be the right time as long as she is with Vinnie!"
"Well maybe I can change that okay! Nothing is changing my mind!"
"Fine. But when you ruin your friendship once again, don't come crying to me."
"But Tab your my support system."
"Not if you go through with this, Jacob. You can't do something like this."
Vinnie stops me at the edge of the stairs and takes off his hoodie.
"What is this for? I have like 4 of them."
"I know you said that you think Jacob is over you, but I know he'll stare at that."
He points to my boobs.
"So you want me to wear your hoodie to hide my boobs from Jacob?"
"Yes." He smiles and hands me the hoodie. "I trust you, but I don't trust him."
I chuckle and put the hoodie on. I kiss him on the cheek.
Vinnie and I drive in one car and Jacob in the other. Once we get there we all sit down at the table. I sit next to Vinnie and Jacob sits across from us.

Vinnie wraps his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him.
"So uh Jacob.." Vinnie looks at the table. "How have your dates been going?"
"Oh I stopped going on them-"
"Oh. Why?"
I see them getting along in the moment.
"Ima run to the restroom. Be right back. If the waitress comes back order me a water."
Vinnie leans over the table a bit since I'm gone.
"Look. I'm not fond with you. I still think your after my girlfriend. But Sydney wants me to try and be nice to you, so I will."
"Even if I was still going after her, do you truly think she'd believe you?"
"And what's that supposed to mean?"
"Piece it together Mr. Perfect."
Vinnie rolls his eyes. He sees me come back and he whispers in my ear.
"I'm going to test something."
I become confused but I go with the flow.
"I'll be right back okay?"
Vinnie kisses me and walks out of the booth. Jacob looks me in the eye.
"I know I shouldn't necessarily ask this, but why did you choose Vinnie over me?"
"Because I know deep down, that would of never worked."
"But what if we tried?" He tries to take my hand but I pulls it away.
"Jacob, can't you catch a hint? I'm in a healthy relationship, why would you try to ruin that?"
"Sydney but I-"
Vinnie pops out from the corner of the the booth.
"I knew it. I knew he'd fucking try to get you with him."
