St. James Infirmary
Kol is covered in Davina's blood, cradling her lifeless body, on the St. James Infirmary floor. He is visually distraught with tears running down his face. Daniel is there and is frozen in shock at the scene in front of him. As Marcel comes in he lays her down and steps away from her. "What are you doing here?" Marcel asked. Marcel sees Davina's lifeless form and begins to cry as he caresses her face. "The Ancestors had a hold of me. I-I was out of my head. I never would've hurt her. I tried to make it stop. I made her dagger me. Nothing worked!" Kol said in a broken voice.
Anger spreads across Marcel's face as he rises and comes to face with Kol. He attacks Kol using his vampire speed, throwing him across the room. Daniel uses his magic to freeze him in place. "It's not his fault." Daniel said, in a sad tone. "I loved her. I swear I did." Kol said. "Get up. Get up. This is New Orleans. Witch spirits can be brought back from the dead, so that is exactly what we are going to do. We are going to bring her back!" Marcel said. He looked over at Daniel. Daniel nodded and unfroze Marcel from his spot.
Later
Kol, Marcel, Daniel, Mia and Vincent are standing next to Davina's body, discussing what they planned to do. Daniel told Mia about everything that happened. He saw that she almost broke but he told her they were planning on getting her back. "Okay, we got to get her consecrated right now. If we don't we can't even attempt to get her back." Vincent said. "We can't consecrate her!" Kol said. Daniel realised what Kol was talking about. "Shit." Daniel said. "What the hell are you talking about?" Marcel asked. "The Ancestors despise Davina. If we consecrate her, she'll wake up in their domain, and they will destroy her." Kol said.
"If we don't, we never see her again." Marcel said. "Hey, that's enough. All right? We all want to help her, so we need to make sure that she's consecrated, but she's got to be safe so we're gonna pull her into a place where she's protected, then we can resurrect her." Vincent said. He turns to Davina's body. "And that's gonna require a lot of energy, and my power's not what it used to be before I got shunned." Vincent said. "I can help. We can get Freya to help as well." Daniel said. Vincent nodded.
"You think my family's going to help? Nik hates Davina. Freya will not defy him." Kol said. "This wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for your family." Marcel said. "Prepare her body." Marcel said to Vincent. Marcel then looked at Kol, Daniel and Mia. "You three come with me." Marcel said.
Later ~ Mikaelson Compound
Kol, Daniel, Mia and Marcel have arrived to the compound to tell Elijah about what has happened and what they need to do. "This is a war. Please, understand, I despise the situation." Elijah said. "No, that's the wrong answer!" Kol said. "We need to get my sister back." Mia said after. Kol steps toward Elijah threateningly as if to start a fight, but Marcel puts a hand on his chest to stop him. "No, no, no, I know this is a war but I've lost a lot of friends, too. Today I need your help." Marcel said. Klaus walks toward them. "Then you shall have it. Come on, Kol. Let's get you cleaned up." Klaus said. As Klaus leads Kol away to get cleaned up, Marcel turns back to Elijah. "Thank you." Marcel said.
Later
Klaus, Elijah, Freya, Daniel, Mia and Kol are talking about the day's events and what needs to be done where Davina is concerned. "Me and Daniel will draw Davina's spirit to a circle. As long as she's there, the Ancestors won't be able to torment her. With luck that will buy you some time to find a way to resurrect her, but we'll need to channel an Original if We're going to sustain the spell." Freya said. "Well, take me. Put me down for all I care, if it keeps her safe." Kol said.
"No, you've been marred by the Ancestors' magic, so, Klaus, Elijah, rock, paper, scissors." Daniel said. All of the candles on the table suddenly flare up. "That can't be good." Elijah said. "My early warning system. I think a New Orleans witch is trying to meddle with one of you." Freya said. "Lucien has the new Regent at his beck and call. It's me he's coming after." Klaus said. Suddenly, Rebekah's portrait catches fire. "No. He's going after Rebekah." Daniel said. A few minutes later, the group are talking. "Lucien thought that killing Cami would have me charging into his lair on a suicide mission. When it didn't, he set his sights on Rebekah. He's kicking hornets' nests, until we have no choice but to confront him." Klaus said.
"Presumably, he still believes she's at the bottom of the ocean." Elijah said. "I cloaked all of you, but with the Ancestors working for Lucien, it may take awhile, but if he wants to find Rebekah, he will." Freya said. "I'll go get her." Klaus said. "It's not safe out there." Freya said. "What then?! Are we to sit here and play cards until Lucien slides Rebekah's bitten corpse down the hall?" Klaus asked impatiently. "Let me go." Elijah said. Elijah goes to leave the room, but Klaus grabs him by the arm to stop him, turns his brother to face him.
"I moved her." Klaus said. Elijah looked at him shocked and surprised. "What, don't look so surprised. I never did like you two sharing secrets." Klaus said. "Tell me where she is, unless you expect me to stay here and leave our sister entirely defenseless." Elijah said. "She's won't be." Daniel said. "I expect you to prevent Kol from suffering the same loss that I did. Lucien deserves our collective ire. Today, your grievances are tabled." Klaus said.
Later
Kol takes out a Hand of Glory, setting it on the table in front of him for Freya and Daniel to use in their spell. "Freya. I need this to work." Kol said. "Me too. I can't lose her." Mia said. "Don't worry, brother, Mia. Eleventh hour spells happen to be my specialty. Tell Vincent to begin the consecration." Freya said. Daniel looked at Mia and cupped her face. "We're going to get her back, okay?" Daniel said. Mia nodded. She couldn't lose her sister. Daniel kissed her and went towards Freya.
Freya and Daniel, channeling Elijah begans the spell to light the hand of glory and call forth Davina's spirit. "Se que atrae us van el brun'en. Se que atrae us van el brun'en." The two chanted. Daniel started to feel something. Like something was being pulled towards them. "Se que atrae us van el brun'en. Se que atrae us van el brun'en." The two carried on chanting. Daniel felt the pulling become stronger. "Se que atrae us van el brun'en." The two chanted. "Se que atrae us van el brun'en." They kept on chanting.
The Hand of Glory lights and Davina's soul is summoned within the ring of black sand/salt. Davina looked around at everyone and sighed in relief. "Whatever it is you did, thank you." Davina said. Daniel nodded and smiled. Marcel nods. Kol and Davina hold up their hands as if to touch, but they can't, seeing as she is a ghost and only there because the protective circle allows her to be. Mi a walked over and did the same with Davina's other hand.
Later
Davina is in the protective circle, while she talks to Kol, Mia and Daniel. "What happened? What did you see?" Kol asked. "Van's mother. Kara Nguyen. The witch I had assassinated. She was there. She tried to magically mark me. As she did it, I felt freezing cold and then this impossible sadness." Davina said. "Did she have a dark green stone?" Kol asked. Davina nods yes. "La Gemme Vital. The Lifeblood Stone. They tried to use it on me, but my vampire soul was too stained for their magic to work. Davina, if she had succeeded at marking you, your very soul would have shredded into pieces. A fate worse than death. There'd be no rescuing you. All right, that stone is your Ancestors' greatest punishment." Kol said.
"Well, it's a good thing she didn't then. I'm right here, and you're going to bring me back. Today right?" Davina said. Daniel nodded. "Yeah. Don't worry." Daniel said. "I swear it. It's Vincent. He's ready. We'll have the magic to resurrect you soon." Kol said. "And with the help of me, it should take half the time." Daniel said, reassuring her.
Somewhere else in the compound, Freya and Elijah make there way to the Compounds balcony. "I think there's a way to kill Lucien." Freya said. "What is it?" Elijah asked. "As long as Davina's caught between our worlds, I can use her as a conduit to channel power from the Ancestors. The same power that was used to create Lucien. Once I have it, I can make Lucien killable again." Freya said. "So what's the problem?" Elijah asked.
"Everything comes with a price. In order to take power from the Ancestors, you have to steal it. Which means, to make Lucien killable, I'll have to draw through Davina, while she's in the Ancestral Well. And to do that, I will have to break the circle that protects her." Freya said. "We can't do that. Freya, that will destroy her." Elijah said. "I know what's at stake, Elijah. I know. What the hell do we do?" Freya asked.
Later
Freya and Elijah are in Elijah's study, talking about what their next move is. "They're not answering. And the Strix tell me that Lucien is headed to the bayou. He knows where Rebekah is. We're out of time." Elijah said. "We need to put an end to this. The only way to get the power I need to kill Lucien is to use Davina." Freya said. Downstairs in the living room, Davina is still in the protective circle provided to her for safety while Marcel and Mia stand with her to talk to her. "This wasn't your fault, or Kol's. The Ancestors hate me because of choices that I made. I'm not a kid. I'm not your responsibility." Davina said. "Honey, you will always be my responsibility. You and Mia." Marcel said.
"What were you supposed to do? Lock me and Mia in an attic and keep the world at bay forever? You didn't let me down. I just grew up. Thank you for saving me and Mia that first time. And for everything else after. I love you, Marcel." Davina said. "I love you." Marcel said. Elijah rushes into the room and pushes Marcel and Mia into the wall. "Forgive me, Marcel, Mia." Elijah said. Elijah holds back Marcel and Mia as Freya takes hold of Davina, performing the spell to steal the magic from the Ancestors. "An et ne van ça le eu. Che ke ça le aun. An et ne van ça le eu. Che ke ça le aun." Freya chanted.
"No, please. You'll break the circle! Please, please stop this! Don't do this to me! Don't make me go back, please!" Davina pleaded. "Marcel! Mia!" Davina screamed. Elijah snaps Marcel's and Mia's necks. Daniel rushed in and saw why was happening. He went to go stop Freya but Elijah snapped his neck as well. "No, please, let go! Marcel! No! Let go! Let go! Please let go!" Davina pleaded. Davina screams as she is forced back into the Ancestral Plane where she comes face to face with Kara, screaming in fear. In the compound, Freya turns to her brother. "It had to be done." Freya said.
Daniel's Head
Daniel was hitting the ground as he failed to save Davina. "It's not your fault." Aaron's voice said. Daniel looked over at him, tears falling down his face. "I failed to save her. Of course it's my fault." Daniel said. Aaron walked over and knelt next to him. "I need to do right by her." Daniel said. "How?" Aaron asked confused. Daniel looked at Aaron. "By killing Lucien." Daniel said. "You can't. Freya holds the power of the ancestors." Aaron said. Daniel stated thinking about what to do. "I siphon it from her." Daniel said. Aaron nodded. "It can work." Aaron said. "But my feelings will get in the way. I can't hurt her. She's my friend." Daniel said. He then looked at Aaron. "But you can." Daniel said.
Aaron furrowed his brows. "You take control of my body, siphon the ancestors power from her and then put me back in control." Daniel said. "But how do I do that? I don't know how to take control of your body." Aaron said. Daniel thought back to his nightmare. "You can. You've already done it." Daniel said. Aaron looked confused. "The first time I came here. You turned into this black cloud and went inside me. You can do it again." Daniel said. Aaron sighed and nodded. "Screw it. Why not?" Aaron said. They both stood up.
Aaron let out a shaky breath. "I trust you." Daniel said. Aaron closed his eyes and concentrated. He then transformed into a black cloud. The cloud made its way to Daniel, who was ready this time. The cloud entered Daniel and that's when he woke up.
Real World
Daniel's eyes opened. Aaron was in control of his body. Aaron looked around and saw that Freya and Elijah were still there. Aaron stood up. Elijah heard this and looked at him. "Daniel?" Elijah asked. Aaron looked at Elijah. "He isn't in at the moment." Aaron said. He used his magic to snap Elijah's neck. Aaron then looked at Freya. He sped over and grabbed her arms. "What are you doing?" Freya asked. Aaron smirked. "What Daniel told me to." Aaron said. He began to siphon the ancestors power from Freya. "Stop! Stop it!" Freya shouted. The red glow around Aaron's hands turned from red to purple.
A blue glow travelled into Aaron and he let go once the blue glow fully went into Aaron. He let go of Freya and Aaron let Daniel come back in control. Daniel let in a breath as he came back in control. He looked down at Freya, his eyes and face void of emotion. "What did you do?" Freya asked. "What I had to." Daniel said. Daniel turned around and began to leave to compound.
Later ~ The Bayou
Klaus is just pulling himself out of the car wreck, bleeding slightly from the head. He sees Hayley on the ground with a snapped neck and a wooden makeshift stake through her stomach to keep her pinned down. He goes to walk towards Hayley, but is intercepted by Lucien when he appears in front of Klaus. "Nik, I was hoping to run into you." Lucien said. He punches Klaus into the car. "Oh come now! There's no fun if it's easy, at least Cami went down swinging." Lucien said. Klaus is so enraged by this remark that he starts to fight Lucien as best as he can.
Lucien and Klaus have taken the fight inside a barn, and they continue to fight, though Lucien clearly has the upper hand. "Haha, have you learnt Nik? I am finally your superior in every way." Lucien said. "Haha, I can smell it, the stench of fear. Uncomfortable isn't it? Knowing your life could be snuffed out any second." Lucien said. Klaus and Lucien continue their fight. "Count your heartbeats Klaus." Lucien said. Hayley wakes up, a piece of wood impaled in her side. She gasps for air, coughs and turns around when she hears Lucien and Klaus are still fighting, inside the barn.
"It's a shame Aurora isn't here to witness your victory." Klaus said. "You think this is inspired by lost love? No, this is about station. A simple stable boy besting a tyrannical king. You have to admit, it's a hell of a story." Lucien said. "I am not the villain of this fairytale you conjured. Lucien we were friends." Klaus said. Lucien laughed. Hayley rushes into the barn to help Klaus fight with Lucien.
A few moments later, Klaus is thrown outside. He stands up and turns around to see Lucien and Hayley. Lucien is stood behind her with his hand inside her chest, clutching her heart. "Oh well, a queen and a king caught by a one-time pawn. Thus the game comes to it's inevitable end." Lucien said. "What are you proving by killing her? It's me you hate." Klaus said. "Was I not clear when I murdered Finn and Camille? I don't care who dies! But since you do, indulge me and I might just spare the mother of your child. Kneel! Get on your knees! I can feel her heart pounding in my fist. Do you really want to measure your pride against my mercy?" Lucien said.
Klaus listens to Lucien and kneels, bowing his head. Elijah appears from behind, throwing Lucien back. Klaus stands up and moves. Daniel appears and starts reversing the spell. Lucien shouts in pain as he loses his upgraded powers. Daniel felt how Lucien became weaker and weaker. "His power's gone. He's nothing but an ordinary vampire now." Daniel said. "You see that family drama you so joyfully derived does have its merits." Klaus said. "You can kill me but the prophecy still stands, you cannot outrun it." Lucien said.
"I've heard about 1000 years too much from you. For a century you lived with my name and you never did quite recover from losing it, did you? You became a man of wealth and stature but you never could crawl from my shadow, and in the end, despite the gift of immortality, you have always known what you truly are. You are nothing." Klaus said. "At least you did one thing that was good." Daniel said. He walked closer and knelt in front of Lucien. "You freed me. You unlocked the part that was lost to me my whole life. That power makes me your superior. In every way." Daniel said, repeating Lucien's words from earlier.
Klaus uses a piece of broken glass to cut Lucien's mouth like Tristan did 1000 years ago. Klaus then rips out his heart before dropping it on the ground. After the break, Klaus then uses a lighter to set fire to Lucien's body. He puts Rebekah's coffin into his car. Klaus stands with Hayley and Daniel, watching Lucien's body burn. "Camille liked the preservation hall jazz band, for the funeral on second ninth. We should hold the wake at Roussaeu's. Come on, lets let Lucien burn alone eh? We should get back to Kol, Mia and Marcel." Hayley said.
Daniel sighed sadly. Klaus looked over at his best friend and saw how saddened he was. "What is it, Daniel?" Klaus asked worried. Daniel looked at him, tears starting to form in his eyes. "Klaus, there's something you need to know. It's about Davina." Daniel said. He then told them what had happened. Every detail. From Freya breaking to circle to Daniel taking the power from her. He decided to leave the part out about Aaron taking control of his body.
Later
Vincent is stood looking at the circle where Davina was held. Freya enters the room and stands behind him. "You destroyed somebody good today, in order to save people who have had more than their share of lifetimes." Vincent said. "I know, I am so sorry. I had to preserve my family, I couldn't just--" Freya said but Vincent cut her off. "Stop Freya!" Vincent shouted. He walked over to her. "You're just as much of a blood sucker as the rest of them." Vincent whispered in her ear. Vincent walks out, leaving Freya alone. Upstairs Elijah is sat down, holding a glass of whiskey. Hayley arrives at the doorway and walks into the room. She walks over to him and sits down, takes his glass from him and places it the table. Elijah kisses her hand and they turn to look at eachother. Hayley rests her head on his shoulder.
Klaus is sat by Hope's crib watching her, Freya enters the room quietly. "Seeking some respite from the darkness? Perhaps there's solace in the fact you avenged Cami today." Freya said. "Yet to do right by Camille, we sacrificed someone she cared about." Klaus said. "Our family is safe." Freya said. "Our family is fractured, there is no victory to celebrate today, my demons won." Klaus said. "Lucien is not your demon, you may have sired him but you did not create that monster." Freya said. "Today I fear we may have created a new monster entirely." Klaus said. The person he was referring to was someone he cared for deeply. Someone he saw as a brother. He was talking about Daniel. He saw how his face was void of emotion as he reversed to spell on Lucien.
Daniel's Loft
Daniel was holding a broken Mia on their couch. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't save her. I failed her. I failed you. I failed Kol. And I failed Marcel." Daniel said, tears also falling down his face. What made his cry More was him watching Mia cry and he couldn't do anything about it. "I can't deal with this, Daniel. I can't deal with this feeling of grief. I hate it." Mia said. Daniel moved slightly so he was facing her. He cupped her face as their eyes met. "I know. I know. But whatever you do, don't turn it off. I'm begging you. Please don't turn it off. Because it will only make things worse. After your emotions come back on, all those feelings of grief and sadness will come back crashing down on you and it will be ten times worse then than it is now." Daniel said.
Mia shook her head. "I can't live like this. I've lost two people I care about in less than 24 hours." Mia said. Daniel just cried as he held her. "Promise me you won't leave me." Mia said, almost in a pleading tone. Daniel nodded and kissed her head. "I promise. I'm not going anywhere." Daniel said. Mia nodded and she fell asleep a few minutes later from the exhaustion of crying. Daniel just held her the entire night as he could t sleep.
