evie's pov:
(thoughts r in bold)
suddenly i feel jeremiah and steven lift me up off the ground, and i look over and seen conrad doing the same to belly.
this is the annual thing where they throw us in the pool.
i don't even try to fight back i just laugh until suddenly i'm flying through the air, then boom im sinking into the water. i swim back up and brush the wet hair out of my face.
"ow my ankle!" belly says
i look at her confused, but she just winks at me.
conrad walks over giving her his hand to help her out and she takes it, pulling him into the water.
i gasp and start laughing
"GOOD ONE BELS" i give her a high five
i swim over to the steps and slowly get out of the pool.
i didn't realize that the shirt i was wearing happened to be white, until i feel belly tap my shoulder and whisper in my ear.
my eyes widen and i quickly rush past the boys hoping they don't notice that my bra is 1000% visible right now.
although i feel bad dripping water in the house i need to get AWAY from them.
"honey!! you're getting water everywhere" my mom says rushing to get me a towel
"oh um evie, your shirt it's-" susannah says
i hide my face in my palms
"i know" i laugh
i take the towel handed to me and wrap myself in it while i catch up with susannah.
"yooo evie cmon i wanna show you something" i hear jeremiah say as he opens the glass door to the porch
"one second let me go change!"
as i walk into the other room i hear susannah whisper something to my mom
"i really think they would be cute together don't you think? they care so much about eachother it's almost like they're dating"
"i know right! she's almost always sending those chatsnaps to him!" my mom says
"do you mean snapchat's?" susannah laughs
"beck i'm too old for this" they both laugh
i slightly laugh and continue walking upstairs. i change into some floral lounge shorts and a crew neck since i was cold, i brush my through my hair and walk back outside
"jere? what did you want to show me?" i say looking for him
suddenly he pops out from around the corner and screams
"BOO!"
startled, i take a step back and hold onto my chest
"jesus jere!" i shove him "what the hell was that for?"
"to be funny, duh! but anyways there's a bonfire tonight and i was wondering if you were gonna go"
"oh sure! i'd love to!"
...
i get changed into a somewhat tight dress and put my white converse on. i notice that belly hasn't even unpacked yet which leads me to assume she's not going to the bonfire.
"steven? where's bels?" i shout from my room
"swimming i think"
i walk outside and see her in the pool talking with conrad and jere.
"yo the bonfires in like 15 minutes were gonna be late cmon" jeremiah says to conrad
"wait i wanna go" she says
"oh the moms are setting up your movie night inside, we didn't know you wanted to go"
"evie are you going?" she asks me
"yeah jere invited me to go earlier, i didn't know we were having a movie night though"
i see an upset look on her face and i walk close to her as they both go inside
"just tell the moms you're gonna go to the bonfire! i'm sure they won't mind. i'm going with jere so if you want to get a ride there you should definitely go change we're leaving in like 10" i smile at her
it's been around 7 minutes and bels is still talking to the moms in her swimsuit, so i decide to tell them that we're leaving
"okay guys we're gonna leave, and bels if you change your mind about the bonfire i can come pick you up"
"no you can't missy, i'm not letting you drive at night" my mom says
i roll my eyes
"fine i'm sure that jere will come pick you up, or you can ride your bike" i smile and wave closing the front door behind me
i get into the back of jeres car next to conrad
the car ride consists of arguing who's gonna drink and who won't
"guys i can be the designated driver!" i say cheerfully
"NO." they all say in unison
"WOWWWW OKAY. i see how it is" i throw my hands up
as i get out of the car steven stops me
"what the fuck are you wearing?" he says
"a dress?" i shrug
"a DrEsS" he mocks me "that's a little small and tight don't you think?"
"god steven it's a beach i'll be fine. plus i have you on speed dial incase of an emergency"
jeremiah walks over and pushs the both of us towards the sand "no fighting"
...
yeah well that "no fighting" didn't go very well.
i'm talking to some guy when i hear conrad yelling
"ah shit. i'll be right back"
i run over to them and i attempt to pull conrad back
"EVIE. JUST STOP YOURE GONNA GET HURT" he yells at me
"YEAH WELL SAME FOR YOU CONRAD"
right as i say that the guy conrad's fighting shoved me to the ground with his elbow and i land harshly into the sand.
"aww did the pretty girl get hurt? he told you to stop." the guy says turning around to fight conrad again
this just makes conrad even more angry
my head starts pounding and i see belly rush over to me
"oh my god evie are you okay?" belly asks crouching down to check on me
"you made it!" i say
"yes but more importantly are you okay?!"
suddenly i see stevens face and a few strangers above me.
my heads throbbing and i just want to go home.
they help me stand up and grab me an ice pack when suddenly flashing lights and sirens start going off
"THE COPS!!!" i hear someone yell
everyone starts running and we rush back to the car and i see belly talking to some kid in a gray jacket
i put my head on the window holding ice on the bump forming on the back of my head
i honestly have no idea what's going on until i hear conrad speak up
"just get in the car bel"
and that makes me smile, since i know that conrad being even slightly protective of her made her heart flutter
